T H E S T O R Y S O F A R... An alien dispatched to Earth under unknown circumstances, Clark Kent arrived in Smallville, Kansas, intertwined in a radioactive meteor shower that razed most of the farming community. Discovered by a local couple, Clark was raised by his loving adoptive parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent from a young boy to a young man. While the circumstances of his adoption were a closely guarded secret, they were not the only signs that Clark was different from a normal boy. From a young age, he showed strength far exceeding his size and speed that actually made it impossible to watch the mischievous toddler without him literally disappearing in the blink of an eye. At the age of sixteen, when Clark experienced his first kiss, he found himself on cloud nine, and not figuratively, as he discovered his ability to fly. With these extraordinary abilities came responsibility, and Jonathan and Martha both worked hard to instill that into Clark. That responsibility kicked in when mysterious happenings around Smallville began to be linked to radiation from the meteors fifteen years earlier. People were waking up with strange abilities and lacking the same guidance the Kents had bestowed upon their adoptive son. Realizing the link between the meteors and these ability-endowed people, Clark took it upon himself to stop them and became something of a local, though incognito, vigilante. When Clark was fourteen, he crossed paths with an orphaned young boy by the name of Ryan, who like Clark possessed a hidden ability. It was eventually decided that the Kents would take Ryan in and so Clark gained an adoptive brother. A year later, the Kents were surprised with another blessing as Martha became pregnant, giving birth nine months later to a healthy baby girl, Jessica Sarah Kent. As Clark reached graduation, the weight of his secret and the lack of knowing where he came from gave him decision paralysis regarding where to move onto next in life. A lengthy discussion with his parents eventually gave way to a gap year and eventually, a move where he relocated to Metropolis, achieving a degree in journalism alongside his best friend, Chloe Sullivan. Like his time in Smallville, Metropolis was filled with encounters with the strange and bizarre, where Clark became known as an urban protector by the moniker 'The Blur'. But Clark struggled to hold down any job after university, the burden of his abilities always calling him to help where he could. Confused about his place in the world, Clark turned his sights towards the stars, determined to discover where he came from and why he was sent to Earth. Two year later, Clark returned from the stars, re-establishing himself in Metropolis before being subbed 'Superman' by the Daily Planet. Finding himself a job with the media conglomerate, Clark began to blend back into life on Earth with a renewed sense of purpose and better grasp on his identity. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) This is a version of Clark that I've never seen told before. A younger iteration, this is a Clark fresh out of Smallville, but where other versions knew they were Kryptonian, or at the very least had the ship to guide them or the crystal to make the Fortress of Solitude, this Clark was found among the wreckage by Jonathan and Martha, but no truth to his actual heritage has ever been known. As such, my story picks up with Clark taking to the stars to figure out who he is. He has a basic grasp on his abilities, and he's done some heroic stuff, earning his local alter ego a place on Chloe's Wall of Weird under the moniker 'the Blur, ' but he's not Superman. He still has a lot to learn both about how to control his abilities and the extent of them. To do so, and to find out who he is and where he came from, Clark is taking to the stars, where I'll explore the themes of the Last Son of Krypton learning about who he is through the eyes and experiences of the galaxy before he ultimately discovers the fate of Krypton and his purpose on Earth. |

T H E S T O R Y S O F A R... Born to Thomas and Martha Wayne, the affluent couple that Gotham City considered to be its first family, Bruce Wayne spent his first few years of life as a sheltered prince within the grounds of the lavish Wayne Manor. His friends were few and far between, often the sons and daughters of the city's other dynasties, but the lone exception was a boy named Harvey Dent. Harvey, the son of the Wayne family chauffeur, had a rebellious nature that often brought adventure to Bruce's otherwise dull but happy childhood. The two were thick as thieves, despite often getting into trouble for venturing into the woods surrounding the massive estate to play pretend. It was during one of these games, where Bruce was pretending to be a gallant knight tasked with capturing Harvey's rogue that had made off with the King's jewels, that he experienced his first trauma: accidentally falling into an abandoned mine shaft and spooking a massive colony of bats. The experience changed Bruce's personality. Refusing to leave his bed for days, suffering from nightmares about the winged animals, he quickly grew to be withdrawn, easily frightened and suffering from mood swings. And as Thomas was often on call as a surgeon at Arkham Hospital while Martha was busy with her work as a city councilwoman, his parents were regrettably unable to attend to him in the weeks following the incident. This was where the family's aide, Alfred Pennyworth, stepped in and took matters into his own hands, hiring renowned psychologist Leslie Thompkins to try to treat Bruce before the fear worsened. While it took a few months of sessions, Bruce learned to compartmentalize, accepting that there were things he could not change. That same year, his life would be forever altered. In addition to seeing far less of Harvey, whose father had been fired after evidence of physical abuse had come to light, Bruce learned the real reason that Thomas and Martha had kept him at the Manor for all those years: Gotham City was overrun with rampant crime. After falling prey to the mafia in the thirties before mellowing out in the sixties, the gangster Carmine "The Roman" Falcone had been making a play for control of the streets. The Mayor, District Attorney, and Police Department were all helpless as rival factions began to challenge Falcone for territory, leading to a gang war that saw the rate of fatalities rise by the day. Thomas himself operated on hundreds of innocents caught in the crossfire, while Martha had been leading inquiries into corruption. When Bruce pressed them for why Gotham had become like this, Thomas decided to be honest. "Because there's something wrong with this city." Following that, Bruce exhibited renewed signs of withdrawal. A decision was made to try and prevent a backslide: drawing on a fascination with early period films that Thomas has manifested through screenings of classics like The Mark Of Zorro, The Maltese Falcon, and The Hound Of The Baskervilles, the family of three attended a showing of The Grey Ghost Strikes!, a modern send-up of an adventure character adapted from the pulps. As Bruce watched each scene play out infront of him, his eyes widened with glee, and he began to re-enact the thrilling action. Thomas and Martha realized that the spark that had been missing was re-ignited, and the three shared a quiet moment of relief in the auditorium. As fate would have it, it would be their last. By the time Alfred reached the scene of the Monarch Theater a few hours later, Thomas and Martha's bodies were being loaded into the back of an ambulance. Bruce was being attended to by a uniformed officer named Gordon, shell-shocked. The attending officers relayed the grim events, as told by the ticket counter attendee: the three were heading out of the theater in the rain, trying to unlock their car, only to be approached by a desperate gunman. He had demanded their valuables and a struggle ensued, with the gun going off by accident. Whenever Thomas slumped over, Martha screamed, leading to her prompt murder. The gunman then fled, leaving their orphaned son to kneel before them - as if at an altar that the relentless rain rendered a baptism. It didn't take long for Bruce's melancholy to return. But unlike before, it was being tempered by a righteous fury. Somewhere inside Bruce's heart, an all-consuming need to prevent his pain from happening to anyone else had manifested. And so the boy made a silent vow: the devotion of the rest of his life to avenging his parents' deaths, reversing Gotham City's decline, and acquiring the talents nessescary to carry out this mission. Choosing Alfred as his first mentor, the boy began to learn a variety of specialized skills. How to read lips, how to pick a lock, and the proper methods of fencing and archery. The tenets of stage acting, the practice of speed reading. Even a few self-defense methods learned from Pennyworth's time in the UKSF. But his journey was only beginning. From New York to New Jersey, Chicago, and Alaska, Bruce's teenage years were a blur of traditional education and some form of unorthodox trauma therapy. Deciding to enroll at Princeton University under the guise of joining Harvey as a law student, Bruce took every minute between psychology and philosophy classes to bone up on cultural studies, foreign languages, and nightly boxing courses. It was clear he would travel, and the reason was simple: his insights into the American justice system were unsatisfactory. To carry out his vision for righting systemic wrongs in a city like Gotham, he knew that he would need to operate outside the law. So whenever he turned nineteen, Bruce vanished. From South America to the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Africa, India, Asia, and Russia, Wayne sought the world's greatest masters whenever it came to criminology, martial arts, espionage, and engineering, among other skills that he found nessescary. By the time he was twenty-three, he had learned how to scale walls with the ease of a cat burglar, and by twenty-five, he was being given a crash course in tracking in desert terrain. It didn't matter what it was; all that Bruce knew was that he wanted to be the best at it. To prepare for the unexpected at every point, engaging in a proper war against the criminal element. Only when he realized that he was holding onto a particular fear did Bruce choose to face it head-on, undertaking a spiritual journey through the caverns of Nanda Parbat. It required thirty days of isolation, where one's soul was said to be torn apart and rebuilt. And by the time Bruce emerged from the caves, he was reborn, ready to return to the city that birthed him. At twenty-nine years old, a decade after he had left America, Bruce's plane touched down at Gotham International to an awaiting press gathering. Whisked away by the loyal Alfred, Bruce's plan of action began to take shape. But before he could begin in earnest, there was one more leg of his training that had to be completed: learning the ins and outs of Gotham's criminal underworld directly. Crafting a criminal alias, Bruce first took to the streets not as a vigilante, but as an observer - "Matches" Malone. Following a year spent as the enemy, testing Bruce's sense of right and wrong, he finally assembled a small arsenal of non-lethal weapons and gadgets. Putting on a mask and taking on Gotham's criminals directly, his first campaign against the mob lasted only a couple of months, with enough injuries and close calls to force Bruce to reconsider whether he was on the right path. There was a missing element, an unspoken lack of something that gnawed at him. He had the skills and the willpower to put them to use, but he was missing a method. Visiting his family's mausoleum to pay respects, now sitting on the grounds of an abandoned Wayne Manor following his purchase of a penthouse tower within Gotham, the spiritually lost Bruce opened the crypt's doors in the dead of night - and was greeted by another waiting nest of bats. But rather than revert to his childhood fear, Bruce stood among them, his determination renewed as he realized that their image held the key to his success. To elicit fear from his enemies, Bruce would have to become more than a man. He would have to transform himself into a creature of the night, a perceived entity of fear that rendered the whole of criminality into a superstitious, cowardly lot. A month later, Sergeant James Gordon would find a local street gang strapped to the side of a building: each member hung upside down and terrified out of their minds. High-ranking members of Falcone's organization would be found hours later, suffering from contusions and fractured limbs. Carmine himself would be discovered hogtied in the bedroom of his estate, promised by a shadowy figure that this was only the beginning. By the time the sun would rise on that first night, thirty-nine criminals in Gotham would either be in custody or in the infirmary. All with the same story, each with a similar tinge of horror in their voices. The press and the underworld alike would christen this avenger of evil with a name befitting his image: The Batman. Making enemies in high places, Batman's war on the mob would escalate in the months after his arrival. With the Grissom and Gambol factions being driven out of town, the Falcone and Maroni families' operations become a target for nightly assaults. While Maroni exerted pressure on the corrupt Commissioner Loeb to assign Sergeant Gordon to a vigilante task force, Gordon and the now Assistant District Attorney Harvey Dent form an alliance to put Loeb away for good. While billionaire Bruce Wayne ingratiated himself with Gotham's upper class, earning a reputation for being a perpetually drunken fool that would leave with an escort on each arm, Batman's arsenal expanded to include surveillance drones, a motorcycle, and eventually an armored, jet-powered cruiser that Alfred would nickname The Batmobile. Loeb would see prison by the end of Batman's first year, but despite Gordon and Dent's efforts, a new type of evil would fill in the void left by the former Commissioner. Starting with the re-emergence of a serial killer that had stalked the streets since the forties, The Caped Crusader's continued evasion of the GCPD would also bring about a powerful enemy: Agent Edward Nashton, known in intelligence circles as The Enigma. Utilizing untold resources, Nashton set up elaborate traps for the vigilante that endangered innocents, prompting Gordon and Dent to reconsider Batman's methods. After a series of close calls, Nashton's downfall came after a final humiliation, when Batman delivered evidence to Gordon that proved Nashton had been a fake: a career criminal named Edward Nigel Maynard in actuality, he doctored his credentials and blackmailed operatives to pose as bureau contacts. In a desperate bid to evade justice, Maynard went dark and re-emerged as cyberterrorist The Riddler, attempting to orchestrate a citywide bombing to prevent capture. Batman, the newly minted Lieutenant Gordon, and Dent only narrowly managed to stop him, earning The Dark Knight a place in their pact. With Maynard placed in Arkham Asylum, further enemies inspired by The Riddler's example would emerge. Corpses posed as a scarecrow began appearing in The Narrows, their veins poisoned by an untraceable toxin. The deranged mutant Poison Ivy began to control the minds of mob lieutenants, re-igniting bitter feuds that allowed her to place herself at the top of the city's drug trade. And perhaps most powerful of all was Falcone's own assistant, who had been playing the long game for decades, gathering enough intel to make himself untouchable to the mob or the cops: Oswald Cobblepot, now calling himself The Penguin. Two years after this crusade began in earnest, Batman enters his third year with Gotham City teetering on the edge. After backing the election of Dent as District Attorney pays off, Bruce's hope in the city's future seems rekindled. But with ruthless mobster Roman Sionis ascending to fill the role of Falcone's second-in-command, the career thief Catwoman prowling the night with a mind for mischief, and the clown-themed killer known as The Joker growing bolder in his one-man assault on normality, The Dark Knight may soon find himself driven to the breaking point. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) I originally didn't intend to do this again, honest. But after reading @Lord Wraith's Superman run from the beginning, I'll admit I'm inspired by its structure and want to see how I could tell a story with Bruce to go alongside Kal-El's thematic journey. So expect alot of flashbacks that show how Bruce learned some vital lessons in shaping who he would become, in addition to all of the intrigue in the present, with a year-three Batman only starting to get a handle on how to effectively fight the enemies he's been racking up. I hope that I can bring something worthy of both the character and the stellar concepts coming here, aswell as bring in enough fodder for interaction. |

T H E S T O R Y S O F A R... John was born May 10th 2006 to Mary-Anne and Thomas Constantine, alongside his stillborn twin brother, Jacob. Mary-Anne died during childbirth, and Thomas, now a widower with a dead son, never forgave John. Hatred was seeded at John's very first moments of life, and his only reprieve would be his older sister Cheryl, who devoted herself to protecting John from their drunken and abusive father. The bond between Cheryl and John was unbreakable, even in the face of Thomas' misplaced wrath, and for seventeen years they would bulwark one another against the injustice of their father's wrath, bolstered further by their deep friendships with Francis 'Chas' Chandler and Gary Lester. The four found safe harbour and common ground in each other, and formed a strong unit based on compassion; until Cheryl disappeared, and the vanishing of one splintered those who were left behind. Unbeknownst to John, Jacob had been destined before his birth to be the next incarnation of a powerful sorcerer known as the Laughing Magician, an individual born over and over throughout the history of the Constantine bloodline. With Jacob's death in the womb through horrific accident, the ancestral Constantines hatched a plan to both rebirth Jacob as fated using Cheryl as an incubator, and also exact revenge on John as their chosen 'vessel' for Jacob's soul. Their plan was too successful, fracturing John's mind, and after they were forced to mitigate a suicide attempt, John spent two years in Ravenscar Psychiatric Hospital. Francis fled to London. Gary turned to drugs. When John got out, his ancestor's plans were set back in motion. Subtly guiding him to reconnect with Chas and Gary, they ended up once again on the fateful Runcorn Railway Bridge. John killed Gary in self-defence, and then it all went to Hell: first figuratively, when the demon known as Nergal appeared and explained the terrible conspiracy John had been caught up in, and then literally, when John forged a bargain with Nergal to take him to Hell where Cheryl was being kept. In Hell, John managed to cut a deal with Mammon, Lord of Avarice for his assistance in dealing with his rogue 'family'. Between John, Nergal, and Mammon, Jacob and the Laughing Magicians were defeated, Cheryl was freed, and John returned to Earth to be with his sister again, now dubbed by Mammon himself the true and last Laughing Magician, the last Constantine of his line. After returning home, John found a new world opening up to him, one mysterious and layered but also unfortunately, inevitably, dangerous. Having created new enemies and inherited old ones, John couldn't risk the target on his back extending to his now-saved sister, and made the difficult decision to leave her behind to keep her safe. Now, Cheryl is protected from forces that would do her harm to get to John, and John has abandoned England entirely, nothing left to keep him around. He and Chas have moved to Chicago; Chas trying to scrape a living, and John trying not to think about how much his misses his sister, how guilty he feels over Gary's murder, and how his soul is currently inevitably bound for Hell when his time comes. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) I brought John back in a previous RP in a bid to rekindle my drive for writing in general after a severe and ongoing depressive period that indirectly brought about a decision to leave my job. With suddenly oodles of time, I directed what energy I could into re-writing, and following through on, what I felt/feel was/is one of, if not my best stories across the many years of this hobby, one I'd had rattling around my head for at least six years. I wrote that story, start to finish, and I had a blast doing do, and it brought back some old writing mojo I'd lost in the last half-decade or so, and got a lot of very positive feedback in the process. In the end, I was quite pleased with what I'd managed and how successful the experiment had been, how I now officially had my stamp on Hellblazer forever, and left my stint as John in that RP there. Originally I didn't have a follow-up arc to carry on writing with. Six years is a long time to stew on a story and to come up with something that could stand up alongside a story I'd built up so much in my own head felt very daunting, and this got a little bit harder when the reception was so positive that I began to feel like I was teetering on a pedestal and liable to crash to the ground at any moment. However, in doing some research, I was struck with inspiration, and with the mojo returned from writing the original story in the first place, keeping that momentum felt a lot easier than screeching to a halt and pivoting to a different character and story completely. Between that and straight-up bonafide requests that I continue, it felt like we'd naturally moved on to the second experiment: now that the passion was re-ignited, could I carry on, continue enjoying myself, let myself play it a little faster and a little looser, but maintain consistency in both quality and engagement? Born into the richest family this side of America, Oliver Queen grew up keenly aware of his privilege, wanted to do something about it—but was chewed up and spat out by the money that made him, growing disillusioned and ultimately toeing the line as a good little capitalist. He turned from activism to thrill-seeking, charity to booze, going from one near-death experience to the next in constant search of his next shot of adrenaline. Living to die. When his head of security came to him with what most would call a shady business proposition, Ollie thought hey, what the hell. It’s something to do. Could even be fun. But he got himself too involved. He was only supposed to be a silent partner, provide some funding, but he insisted on being there for the deal. He threatened knowing too much, and the deal’s benefactors weren’t willing to take the risk. It was on the yacht heading there, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, that his head of security tried to kill him. The water welcomed him with open arms. He wasn’t quite ready to go. Call it luck, call it fate, he washed up on a beach with nothing but Howard Hill’s old bow, won at auction weeks ago, lungs full of water and heart full of spite. Ollie didn’t care if he died... but he would be damned if he let these people beat him. And then he came home. His time away had reinvigorated him, lighting a fire within him he’d thought long gone. As Oliver Queen, he set his sights on using his wealth for the good of Star City. As Green Arrow, he aimed to look out for the little guy. For over twenty years he’s been at this game, and much has happened in that time. He took in the young Roy Harper, adventuring alongside him as Green Arrow and Speedy; he lost his company, and with it, his wealth; he met a Pretty Bird from another Earth, loving and losing and loving her again; he made many enemies, all of them the right ones. Bridges burned and rebuilt, misery witnessed and pain dealt out. Deaths and returns, reunions and new bonds. Lessons learned. Always learning. These days, Ollie’s identity as Green Arrow is something of a (very) open secret. With his family by his side, he takes to the streets to mete out pointy justice. His life isn’t perfect, but it’s his. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) I want to take a mostly canon-adjacent Ollie and tell stories that, first and foremost, explore his relationships and history with all the baggage that might entail. To that end, his family (Roy, Connor, Mia and Lian) are deeply important to my concept, as is Dinah — who in this instance is more closely aligned with her original multiversal immigrant incarnation, allowing me to dive into her and Ollie’s relationship without hindering anyone who wants to write this universe’s Black Canary. He has a loyal crew of friends consisting of pilot Jean-Paul "Frenchie" DuChamp, lover Marlene Alraune, diner owner Gena Landers and informant Bertrand Crawley, people who will stick by him through thick and thin and provide support for his crusade. With the help of his alters, multi-millionaire entrepreneur Steven Grant and cab driver Jake Lockley, Marc watches over New York City. He has his flaws and troubles, but he's made a life for himself, one that he's happy with. Marc Spector is Moon Knight. Or is he? Waking up in a psych ward with foggy memories of his life as a superhero, Marc finds himself faced with TV reports of a Moon Knight out in NYC who's not him and finds that everyone from his former life is also locked up in the hospital with him. The orderlies regularly beat him and subject him to excessive electric shock therapy while his psychiatrist Dr. Emmet confronts him with the reality that he's been in Putnam Psychiatric Hospital since he was 12. This is a Moon Knight who's already established but doesn't remember any of his career and is faced with the dilemma that he may not have even been Moon Knight at all. Through his journey in the mental hospital and flashbacks to the life that he thinks he lived, I hope to examine Marc, Steven and Jake's characters and explore not only their actions as Moon Knight but also their relationship with each other and the people in their lives. |

You know my story, or at least the parts that people enjoy repeating. Heiress of Frost Industries, young billionaire, former White Queen of the Hellfire Club until Sebastian Shaw learned what it felt like to lose to a woman he underestimated. Sometimes I'm a villain and sometimes I'm a cautionary tale. A Hero though? Never. God that's just embarrassing. But. Protecting mutant children has always been more important to me than preserving my pride, you see. My battle lines crossed those of the X Men and you know what happened with Scott and I. Yes we were married; you saw the photographs on the cover of every magazine. We didn't last. We had four good years. Fighting beside the X Men, X Factor, and every damn lost caused that seemed to be worth bleeding for. I taught my students everything, they taught me how to soften the razor-edge of my ambition. They are the reason I never stayed a villain. Krakoa was born from necessity, not idealism. Charles had the revelation, Erik had the conviction, and Moira had the impossible knowledge. I came with infrastructure, diplomacy, culture... The ability to make the world believe in us and together we shaped a nation for mutants because it's not like anyone else was ever going to. It's been two years now and I still hold my seat on the Quiet Council and this responsibility is the only gown that ever fit me properly. Our island... Our home thrives but danger never sleeps now does it? Somewhere in the dark something is preparing to test us again. I've rebuilt myself more times that I'd ever care to admit, I've worn so many masks that sometimes I wonder where my true face is beneath everything I've done and seen. One thing I do know though is exactly what I am capable of, and that nobody will take this home from us. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) I wanted to take a character who feels probably overlooked in roleplays like this (and why? she's so powerful!!) and give her the story and spotlight she deserves. Plots for Emma will include protecting her mutant students, and the interests of Krakoa and mutants in general. I feel there is opportunity for conflict with Emma as she's always going to put mutants first when faced with difficult choices and that might provide some interesting tension through the game. A powerful, Omega-Level potential Telepath has huge story impact too for collaboration and crossing over into other character stories. I really look forward to bringing her wit, elegance, and power to the roleplay. Having her a really high level provides great opportunity to stand alongside some of the bigger heroes too. While she is not the "leader" of mutants, having her as a council member means she's definitely up there but leaves room for other players to jump in as mutants at any level they so wish - be it small and early on, or mature and leader like. I've also gone with the Krakoan era of X Men/Mutant kind - to play with a setting that is fresh but gives a really solid launching pad for players from this universe that can contend with big settings from other comics etc, sort of like how Thor has Asgard etc. Giving them the living, breathing island which is also an offshoot of The Green. An interconnected ancient avatar with the X Gene that has become this home. |

T H E S T O R Y S O F A R... The Greek Gods, Aphrodite and Ares were rivals. Aphrodite desired to bring the world together through peace, love and unity. Ares sought to bring the world together with blood, violence and subjugation. As the world of Man, Gods and Monsters tore itself apart. When it became apparent that the time of the Gods was coming to an end, Aphrodite, with Hera, created Themyscira. A haven for Woman kind, myth and magic hidden away in the world of man, science and reason. When Zeus discovered this haven for the future of womankind he visited in his form of an Eagle, quickly discovered by Queen Hippolyta. The two exchanged in a battle of wills. Treaties and Laws signed in halls of unknowing prevented Gods from actively interfering in mortal affairs on Earth, and Zeus worried this could be seen as interference, worried about possible repercussions from the other Gods. Not wishing a fate matching that of Ra and his court. The two became close over their sessions, as she tried to convince him of the necessity of Themyscira and its role in protecting the world. Then Zeus did, as Zeus always does. Diana was born nine months later, with the most perfect golden hair. Now under threat from both the other Gods, and his Wife. Zeus was never seen on Themyscira again. Hippolyta had another issue. Keeping Dianas true parentage a secret, especially on Earth would be difficult. Word of her glowing, golden hair spread quickly and if Hera did not come for retribution, Zeus had many enemies both mortal and immortal over the years, and so, a bargain was struck with Zeus rival. Odin, All-Father of Asgard, the Aesir and the nine realms. Using secret links between the realms, Diana was secreted away. Becoming Sif, sister of Heimdall and daughter of Odin and the Nine Daughters of Aegir and Ran. Like all daughters, Sif was taught not just the household tasks but the way of the warrior. Freyja, in many ways, her adoptive stepmother, encouraged Sifs pursuit of the warrior ways. Much to the chagrin of Odin, who felt that Sif should follow the example of Amora. Another of her kin, who Odin felt would have been a fine suitor for the young princeling, Thor. Thor however, had other ideas and was far more interested in the warrior spirit that Sif presented. Thinking that it was her appearance that drew Thor's eye, Amora enchanted her own hair, turning it blonde. Magic always comes at a cost and it forever tainted her eyes green. Meaning she would forever be marked as a sorceress. Loki, ever the bitter younger brother, seeking Odin's approval, took matters into his own hands. Using a magic blade, he cut the hair from Sif's head. Enraged, Thor sought to defend Sifs honour however after she had finished dealing with his attempt at gallantry, Sif took Loki by the throat and demanded that she replace her hair immediately. The hair was beautifully crafted by the Dwarves of Nidvallir, however Loki had not paid the smiths for their talents and expertise so as it was planted and took root in her head, the hair turned as black as night. The Dwarves felt that it did not deserve to be golden, due to a lack of payment. While Asgardians were unable to return to Midgard, that did not however mean that there were not other realms that were in need of their assistance. A revolution brought on by a union between Ulik and Fárbauti, king of the Rock Trolls and Frost Giants respectively, lead to turmoil among the nine realms. They say nothing bonds two men more than fighting on the battlefield. It was more than that for Sif and Thor. They complemented eachother perfectly, within time their union was so well known that foes feared to face them on the battlefield. Foes feared Sif, for if they succeeded, it would bring about the wrath of Thor, and vice versa. As peace was brought to the Nine Realms. Whispers of another threat lingered on the edges of space. An evil as old as the Gods themselves, some said, even older. The evil of Apokolips. Thor and Odin argued, and for those three days and three nights, thunder and lightning clashed in the skies of Asgard. It was said that these storms spread throughout the realms themselves. As they calmed, Sif walked into the grand hall to comfort Thor. Instead, all she found was a weary Odin, and Mjolnir lying in the middle of the room. He had left. Sif pleaded with Odin to let her go after Thor. She would bring him back, by carrot or by stick. He forbade it, told her under no circumstances was she to return to Midgard, and so she sparred. She trained. She worked with the Warriors Three to maintain peace on Asgard, when one day there was a mighty roar of thunder. She transported herself to the Bifrost, anticipating Thors return, but instead she watched as Mjolnir tore its way passed Heimdall, aiming for the bifrost and away from Asgard. Sif grabbed the handle and was pulled along with it, careering out into space. She lost her grip along the way, coming crashing down in the small town of Broxton, Oklahoma. Zeus fucked Hippolyta. Diana was born, sent to Asgard, and became Sif. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) I always enjoy the mythological aspects of the comic books, so playing Diana having become Sif (which in my head just makes sense) gives me a fun chance to explore multiple pantheons and how they relate to one another. Most importantly, I could not pass up the chance to play Wonder Woman and have the opportunity to write with @Lord Wraith and @Master Bruce to form the Trinity. Sif is new to Earth, she's a seasoned warrior but new to Earth. She's going to face foes from both the World of Man, and the World of Myth. All in a quest to find Thor, help him out of whatever situation he is in, kick him in the balls and drag him home. |

Was a paperboy a little while. Became a fry cook in my teens and hated it more n’ anything. Was always more of a cow rearer than a burger flipper. Odd jobs after that, running round town like a headless chicken. I repaired shoes, was a tailor, forged a couple no-good sets of nails, sold power tools at some big box store, performed as a trickshooter, plus many more and many much less glamorous. Then, of course, there was the band. If you’ve heard of me from anywhere, it’s there. Greg Saunders of the Prairie Troubadours, the best little rock band in Texas. Played in packed bars and talent shows and high school football games, anywhere that’d take us, and we loved it. I was the dark horse of that band. Lead gee-tar, backup vocalist, wearing a cowboy hat darker n’ the night sky. We were gettin’ bigger by the day, livin’ in high cotton. Had fans following us in the rain, screaming our names. It was plain to us that a record deal’d be coming down soon. I took a little vacation. Just a week or two away from the boys to get back to my Pap’s old farm and jaw with him about how things were going for his kid. We were worried about selling out, see, wanted to keep the music pure. I thought my Pap would know more about that than anyone. He sure did, but… That conversation seems so far away now, so fanciful. We were talking about our harvest when the field lay fallow and dead before us. I came back to a bloodbath. I don’t remember what the cops told me. They dressed it all up in fancy language and condolences that fell on my ears like static from an unplugged amp. I begged and they let me see the pictures. Saw the whole band. Billy Gunn, Danny Leong, Bat Lash, Raph Sandoval… They were bled to death, slaughtered like farm animals. The news crushed me beneath it like a bale of agony. The officers couldn’t make heads nor tails of it. They couldn’t decide if it was some serial killer or a one off incident, some spurned fan or a random attack. Not too long before they quit looking. Don’t know if they got paid off, or if they found something too terrible, too dangerous for them to continue. Don’t matter much now. What does is that I took it into my hands. I took up the name Vigilante. In white hat and red bandana I ran down ne’er-do-wells of every stripe, grasping for leads about anyone who coulda done this. Wasn’t no investigator. Just a kid with a pair of handguns, a lariat, and a righteous fury. Roughed up city slickers and country crooks, gangsters and mafiosos. Inching closer to the truth. Got good at it, running down leads, helping folk wherever I went. I rationalized what happened for myself as I worked. Surely it was a brutal hit or a depraved killer that took my friends from me. It took time to peel back the veil and peer at the hideous truth before me. Dead things walk among us. Zombies, ghouls, vampires. You can deny it if you like, but I ain’t got much time for doubters. I know what I’ve seen, men falling apart as they’re walking, creatures that fly on great leathery wings. I been on this trail five years now, searching for answers for that night. Finding the suckhead sons-of-bitches that done it. It's brought me to darker places than I could dream of… Places where things aren’t just bumping in the night. Places like that are where I met him. Near as I can tell, he’s done just one job over these years, and that’s killing vampires. He tells me that he’s had a lot of names over the years, but that Blade is the simplest. If he’s got a real name, he ain’t sharing it. He don’t share much, in fact, don’t talk too much at all. Least not to me. He’s a tall black feller who can be known by his habits of wearing heavy leather and shades absolutely everywhere he goes. Not to mention the sword hanging off his back. He’s the first professional vampire hunter I’ve ever met. He might be the best there ever was. But he avoids me like I’m slicker than pig snot on a radiator. Some country bumpkin, ruining his hunt. But I need him. Spent five years spinning my wheels with not much to show for it besides a pile of random mobsters and toughs in chains or dead. Comes a man like him, what actually knows what he’s doing? I can’t let him pass me by. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) Back in the saddle again. Trying to rediscover the passion that let me bang out posts like a maniac in my younger years, I'm rolling a combination of a character that has always spoken to me, and a comparatively new hotness that has captured my imagination. Blade and Vigilante will tear through the south, discovering all manner of strange places and circumstances perverted by vampiric machinations. The vampires' grip on the country and the world entire will prove deeper and more insidious than either man could ever imagine. But to be frank I don't have much of a plan. I have some cool allies and enemies I'd like to encounter, and I'd love the chance to write alongside and cross over with my friends again, simple as. The hope is to get into a rhythm and do a little more every day, and for me, this spooky pair is the ticket. |

P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) Hulk was my debut character in these superhero crossover games, and the largest tragedy may not be that I never got to write the parts that I was most excited for, but that in the 5 and a half years since I wrote it, there apparently hasn’t been a take on the character as standout. I’m flattered that I’m still remembered for my handling of the Hulk, but I’m also driven by the knowledge that I can do better. I’ve since read a bit more of the character (Immortal Hulk + some of the original Hulk and Tales to Astonish), and I intend to draw from both in this iteration. Immortal Hulk injects the supernatural into the character through its use of Christianity and Hell, which I think will offer some interesting imagery and thematics as Bruce dies and is reborn. The older Hulk stories struck me in how long was spent before the world found out about Bruce and the Hulk being one, something that feels intrinsic to the character now, so I’d like to aim to spend more time with Bruce trying to live as a normal person instead of jumping right into him being a vagabond in half a dozen posts. We ill see Bruce gradually lose his grip as more and more aspects of his life start to fall apart due to the influence of his alter ego (and eventually, alter egos). Since he’ll be spending more time at the lab, I opted to move from a military base in Arizona to a secret facility in the Nevada desert, and made him a part of Cadmus (in the vein of their Justice League Unlimited incarnation), which will change the dynamic of his lab, give me the opportunity to include a number of science/villain characters, and hopefully make it easier to tell stories with the Hulk still masquerading as Bruce Banner without too much of the absurdity of the original run. I also think Cadmus can be used for the sake of other players as well to introduce or explain various characters or aspects of the setting as needed, and will gladly work with anyone with ideas on that front. |

T H E S T O R Y S O F A R... Wanda Maximoff was born near Novi Pazar, Serbia, alongside her twin brother, Pietro, to a nomadic Romani witch named Natalya Maximoff. Natalya lived a dangerous life - one filled with mysticism and conflict. Knowing that her path could only bring danger to her children, she made the agonizing choice to leave them in the care of her brother, Django Maximoff, and his wife, Marya. Django and Marya raised Wanda and Pietro with gentleness and stability, despite the hardships of Romani life in the Balkans. Their small camp moved often, staying ahead of prejudice, poverty, and the shifting political tensions of the region. Wanda’s earliest memories are of Marya’s soft hands braiding her hair, Django carving wooden toys, and the rhythms of traditional songs around the fire at night. For a time, the twins were simply children - loved, protected, and unaware of the strange potential growing inside of them. Wanda’s powers surfaced early but quietly. When she became frightened, the air would ripple. When she grew upset, small accidents followed - dropped objects flying farther than they should, improbable events clustering around her. The adults whispered, not unkindly, that she might have inherited some of Natalya’s mystic touch. But Marya reminded Wanda always that power was not a curse; it was responsibility. Wanda treasured that lesson, even if she didn’t yet understand it. Tragedy struck when the camp was attacked during one of their moves through Central Europe. The circumstances remain unclear - chaos, flames, shouts in the dark - but in the end, Django and Marya were gone, and the twins were left alone. At barely their early teens, Wanda and Pietro wandered across Europe, carrying only memories of their adoptive parents and the cultural traditions they had passed down. Wanda held tightly to small rituals: quiet prayers, protective gestures, stories of their people. Pietro held tightly to Wanda. Their aimless journey eventually brought them to Transia, where they attempted to settle in a small, insular village. For a while, it seemed they might finally find peace. But Wanda’s abilities, growing stronger with adolescence, became volatile and frightening. A surge of emotion - panic, grief, or anger she couldn’t control - triggered a catastrophic burst of chaotic energy. Dry brush ignited, houses caught fire, and the village panicked. Fear turned quickly to fury. The locals dragged her into the square, shouting accusations of witchcraft - a word that carried its own ugly history for Romani people. One man in the crowd gave her a name spoken with venom: the Scarlet Witch. Pietro fought to shield her, but they were outnumbered. Wanda, terrified and powerless to stop what she’d started, believed she would die there. But the mob scattered when Mister Sinister appeared. His arrival was chillingly calm. With a single glare and an aura of authority that no villager dared challenge, he announced that he would remove the “witch” from their village. To the terrified crowd, he was a savior. To the twins, he was an inexplicable miracle. Desperate and homeless, they accepted Sinister’s offer of protection. He brought them to a remote research and training facility he operated in secrecy - a place he presented as a sanctuary for people with abilities. But beneath its clinical walls, Wanda quickly sensed something darker. Sinister studied her powers with obsessive fascination, pushing her to access more volatile aspects of her mutation. Pietro endured his own trials, forced to push his speed far beyond safe limits. Sinister praised their potential while subtly severing their ties to culture, emotion, and autonomy. Wanda was encouraged to suppress her Romani identity, told that attachments “complicated” her mutation. But she quietly held onto the rituals and stories Django and Marya taught her - the last pieces of herself that Sinister could not take. Everything changed when Wanda found files outlining Sinister’s intended plans to experiment on their DNA and force the next stage of their evolution. The illusion of safety shattered, she and Pietro fled in a frantic escape that left them bruised, terrified, and utterly determined to never be controlled again. Now, Wanda stands on uncertain ground. Her powers remain unpredictable and dangerously tied to emotion, and she is haunted by the guilt over the Transian fire and the name “Scarlet Witch”. But she is determined to reclaim her identity and to shape her destiny on her own terms. Pietro remains her fiercest protector and anchor, her one unbreakable connection to the life they lost. She is not yet a hero, nor the myth the villagers feared. But she is no one’s weapon - and she is finally beginning to choose who she will become. P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) P L O T ( S ) & G O A L ( S ) I want to play this younger version of Wanda because I’m really interested in exploring the space between who she was raised to be and who everyone tries to turn her into. Her backstory is full of culture, trauma, and survival, and I love the idea of writing someone who is still figuring herself out while carrying all of that weight. She’s not exactly the Scarlet Witch yet - she’s just a girl who’s been chased, manipulated, and misunderstood, trying to reclaim the parts of herself that people have tried to take away. I want to explore her connection to her Romani identity (which is criminally written out of most of her current stories), her bond with Pietro, and the complicated relationship she has with her own powers, especially after Sinister’s influence. My goal is to let her grow naturally, whether that leads her toward witchcraft, mutant communities or even darker temptations. I’d love to involve other players - mentors, teammates, antagonists, anyone who challenges or supports her - and let her story develop through those connections. |

As a boy at the tender age of 12, he lost his father and mother to Harold Meachum's schemes and machinations, which put on the path of the martial artist after being adopted by his great-uncle Orson Randall. His path would lead to him journeying to K'un L'un to train under many masters for most of his life, his most taxing time under the tutelage of the Undead Monk, founder of K'un L'un, and master of the Shadow Seven. This training would lead to Danny defeating Davos and killing Shou-Lou the Undying to become K'un L'un's Immortal Weapon, Iron Fist. Vengeance would fuel Danny's need to return home after over a decade, fighting alongside Sandra Wu-san, the woman he had fallen for and trained with, to stop Harold Meachum. In the end Danny realized that vengeance would not fulfill him, instead exposing Harold for his crimes, and in turn gaining a form of peace that he had sought for so long. The years would be long and rough but, Danny would always find the light in the darkness. From meeting Colleen Wing, to a complicated relationship with the assassin Lady Shiva, and starting Heroes 4 Hire with Luke Cage, Danny has had an active life. Also happens to be Ted’s best friend, if only because he knows him personally in both his chosen identities. When he was younger he was sent back in time to ruin Ted’s life and send him on a trajectory that would teach him humility under the pseudonym “Carter Johns” by a person who’s identity has thus far not been revealed… Neither he nor Ted knew this purpose at the time. He merely thought he’d met a new best friend. The two became reunited after he grew bored with his dead-end job as a security guard at the Metropolis Space Museum, stole a bunch of superhero artefacts and decided to try and make something of his life in a simpler time. He’s barely held in check by the supervision of Skeets – the security/automated tour guide of the museum that took the trip with him. He brings chaos to Ted’s life, but also friendship. But also chaos. Even for Ted’s already fairly chaotic lifestyle. He brings chaos. ◼ The Wasp (Janet Van Dyne) - Owner of her own fashion label, when Janet Van Dyne discovered that Ted was engaging in activities as Boston’s latest hero - The Blue Beetle - she became enamoured with the swashbuckling romantic connotations of the hero life. Outfitted by her husband Hank Pym, who is one of the foremost geniuses in the modern world, the Wasp packs a wallop that belies her diminutive size when in costume. Janet has stepped up and more than capably filled the team's leadership void in Ted's ten month absence. ◼ Ice (Tora Olafsdottir) - Tora Olafsdotter was formerly a security officer for a branch of S.H.I.E.L.D known as the Global Guardians, who dealt with providing security for foreign dignitaries and private citizens of international importance. Was also Ted’s girlfriend and a metahuman/mutant. In Ted's ten month absence she has since moved on, and is now in a relationship with Namor the Sub-Mariner. ◼ Fire (Beatriz DaCosta) - Beatriz Da Costa was Tora’s best friend and almost like a bigger sister for her when the two worked previously for the Global Guardians. She barely tolerated Ted and trusted that this whole thing will soon end once Tora comes to her senses, sees him for the geeky dork he is and dumps him for someone better suited to her. That was, until she began to realise she's fallen in love with the superhero lifestyle. She remains extremely protective of Tora. Bea is extremely supportive of Tora's relationship with Namor, in particular. Who she believes to be far worthier of her affections tha Ted. ◼ "Ant-Man" (Scott Lang) - If Tora and Bea's presence is there to prove that collaboration between humans and mutants/metahumans is possible, Scott's proves the idea of rehabilitation and the notion that its possible to walk back a life with mistakes. After being released from prison, Scott Lang was only able to get a job as a cleaner. The Cross brothers got to his parole officer, and attempted to turn Scott to rob those he was contracted to clean for. Including Hank Pym's RedAnt and Ray Palmer's PalmerTech. After finding a way to refuse to steal from Hank, the less stable Cross chose to kidnap Scott's daughter Cassie for further leverage before setting their sights on PalmerTech. With little to no time or planning provided, Scott needed a miracle. Or the next best thing, Pym Tech. Scott stole a suit with the capability of shrinking and changing mass of Pym's own design. He now had the means to potentially burgle Ray Palmer's secure building with the limited time available to him, and intended to return the suit upon completion. Then he met the Blue Beetle and the stingers of the Wasp. Fortunately, after explaining the predicament, the pair chose to help instead of punish and between the three of them were able to free Cassie and have the brothers Cross brought to justice. Now Scott Lang has a new parole officer, stable employment and a new place of residence - the Superbuddies, and their Headquarters 'The Embassy'. ◼ Maxwell Lord - A former CEO for a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company, Maxwell Lord acts as a figurehead organizational leader planted by Ted Kord as a front for explaining where the money has come from in return for a share of the revenue streams. Unscrupulous and money-grubbing by nature, he can be quite a stringent taskmaster in keeping the team on mission to preserve their brand as heroes which makes up his mealticket. With Ted lost in time (leading to no more Kord investment), Max had tightened the belt on the team significantly, leading to the Embassy being far less luxurious than Ted's original vision. ◼ Hank Pym - Generally introverted and reclusive, Hank Pym also has numerous mental issues and social disorders which often cause troubles in his own life and for those who care about him. He very much loves Janet though and has joined the team out of a feeling of necessity. Even though this will actually mean occasionally dealing with people and spending less time at work in his lab. Might just be the smartest person in the world. Has no personal interest at all in the superhero lifestyle and his presence seems to hinge entirely on Janet's. ◼ L-Ron - A one of a kind Organisational tool of Hank's own design, inspired by Ted's own Butler Excel system - who clanks around making a nuisance of itself, but has no field capabilities whatsoever. ◼ Namor - The newest team member. Currently in a relationship with Tora Olafsdottir. Somehow, despite being literal royalty, does not own a closed shirt. Flies like an idiot with stupid flying fish ankle wings. Who the Hell needs him? ...although he is the strongest and most versatile team member with the most experience and blah-blah-blah experience in diplomacy and acting like a shirtless walking hard-on. Whatever. ...WHY DO YOU NOT OWN A SHIRT?!? A N T A G O N I S T ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ ◼ "The Beetle" (Abner Jenkins) - K.O.R.D's previous Chief Financial Officer. Became disillusioned with the way Ted was running the company, after he had created the brilliant all-terrain exo-suit 'The Beetle' which Ted kept on the shelf for a later reveal when their first mission to Mars would be announced. When Tony Stark brought a similar item - the Iron Man armour - to the world's knowledge, and announced that it was not for sale, it left a hole in the market which the defence industry would be eager to see filled, and with K.O.R.D in a potentially advantageous position to exploit it. Ted Kord did not have the moral flexibility to do so. Abner Jenkins did. Ted overruled him. Abner Jenkins instead chose to apply pressure and show the world his creation at a public Expo. Where he believed shareholders would apply the necessary pressure and make it impossible for Ted to put the genie back in the bottle. Instead, Abner Jenkins efforts and pubic endangerment were foiled, he found himself imprisoned. With only Ted's promise to ensure Abner's wife Mimi still have access to his 401k pension and stock options. After his removal, Ted's longtime family friend Veronica Sinclair was given the role of Chief Financial Officer. ◼ "The Mad Men" (Farley Fleeter and Associates) - The head of the Farley Fleeter Advertising Agency and what remains of the skeleton staff as the company circles the drain. Planned to steal the Beetle suit from the New York Science Expo, out of desperation, to re-inject capital and give them all a piece of what would be the new Advertising Agency. The stylish Ad Men (and women) avoid recognition by wearing outlandishly colourful clothing and masks, and attempt to use superior numbers to succeed. Their efforts failed when it came to the Beetle suit, although they did manage to take the Blue Beetle's first B.B. gun in the chaos. Evaded capture and are still at large. ◼ The Squid Crew - The first criminals Blue Beetle ever fought, when he was first testing his equipment. Were caught rubbing a skyscraper with their suction cup equipped suits. Apprehended and currently serving time. ◼ "Major Disaster" (Paul Booker) - The supervillain who cost Ted Kord ten months of his life. Able to produce waves of Nega-Quantum affected energies, creating a field which expands and generates outcomes of increasinly negative probabilities. The team was able to defeat and apprehend the supervillain, albeit after the loss of the Blue Beetle. ◼ "Crossfire" (William) and Darren Cross - These brothers sought to capitalise on others work and efforts. First their intermediary Scott Lang, and then those who created the technology that they hoped Lang would steal for them. Darren Cross is a businessman, the head executive of of Crossroads Innovations, but his former CIA-operative brother is an unhinged, violent individual who doesn't seem to realise there are lines and things you don't do. The pair of them are nasty pieces of works. Both are serving time. And both probably have issues with Scott Lang, and now the team at length. K . O . R . Gifted with an eidetic visual memory, more money than sense and that engineering brilliance he was inspired by a growing number of superheroes to try his hand at going down the same path. After being publicly put in the spotlight, saving numerous lives during a crisis of some kind, Ted Kord chose to ride his wave of popularity to form his own privately funded Superhero team, called "The Superbuddies" which would combine human and metahuman/mutant heroes to show that collaboration across such lines was possible. Headquartering in New York, at a facility he designed called "The Embassy", the Superbuddies reputation has wavered between being seen as something of a joke, and uniquely competent as a team in a capes and cowls world. - - - After eventually finding their level and balance, the team took on a supervillain called Major Disaster, who's unique ability, coupled with Booster Gold's misplaced confidence in his own abilities saw team leader Ted Kord lost in time in the horrifying hellscape of 2002's New Jersey.
