I'll admit I took liberties to what exactly the experiments did to Scoot, but if I had to use Zwei as an example of animal intelligence, I still say Scoot could easily obtain an equal amount of intellect while still being lead by his bestial instincts. Sure we don't really know if Zwei is an exception to the usual type of animals in the RWBYverse, but you gotta admit that of all the animals which might have an increase in intelligence, Scoot should be one of them.

I finished Lauren's full-body render! It's done in a similar fashion to the Apophis picture I did earlier, albeit with a lot more refinement to the lines (Player Characters deserve extra treatment xD).
