@Cyclone

I am happy to oblige. I am actually going to be rather ambitious and take the large white blob on the north part of the middle continent. I'll have the 'Sacred Empire' and two others bordering me. Sadly the coloring on the nations and the thin coloring of the nation names at the top of the map is making it rather difficult to pair them together, especially the lighter blue colors. Fear not with me though, I will be using bright pink as its not yet been used and it stands out like a sore thumb!

But the light blue Ventium or Yllendthyr and the northern neighbor is Verendes (most likely.)

Hopefully that huge place hasn't been claimed and/or planned for yet.

That place is still wide open!

Just FYI, that continent is basically Africa/the Americas; it's where all the colonial powers have been grabbing land. So you could either be a nation of natives, or a colony like the USA that broke away from one of the other nations that are/were colonial powers.

@Cyclone If this is set in a 1940's setup, would an existing nation that arose from a colony long ago be feasible? I wanted to have a established history rather than be a modern colony. If that makes sense.

You could conceivably have a few centuries of history as a colony, yeah. Perhaps even more if you were one of Yllendthyr's colonies or former vassals, since I don't know how long the elves have been colonizing.

But also, don't discount the idea of having an established history with natives and then a shorter one with foreign colonists. It could be interesting to write about how the natives colonists reacted historically and how the different races treat one another today, or even have the colonists and natives merge into one culture sort of like with Mexico.

@Serpentine88 I appreciate it! I just have to make sure I dont over do it. :D i'll get to writing!!

Edit: curious, we have access to jets?
Jets are availible but at early stages. My heavy fighters are technically "discount Me 262" with poorer power, speed, fuel economy and such and it's only really feasible because mithril is so light.
Well, jet engines could have flown from 1940 but then politics and other BS happened.
Generally this game allows mid-ww2 tech along with mechs and other dieselpunk inventions for the sake of having diversity.

That being said no problem with jets.
Actually with ww2 tech propeller driven fighters often better.
USA kept props in their military until the late 50s.

I figred as much, but I was trying to gauge how far into 1940's we were delving. Don't get me wrong, and you'll see from my ns once i'm done with it, I'm not going to be a tech giant type so don't worry about me stealing any thunder.

I was merely curious :)

No problem at all.
As for tech?
We have medium and heavy tanks, SPGs, SPAGs and generally all the classic vejicle types from WW2. Worths noting since this wouldn't be the same in OTL during this early.
Airships are quite popular and thanks to Kavuria you can effectively make warships on air. Granted, Avalia is by far the greatest producer of this so you gotta import the gas by the metric ton.
Chemical weapons, including some countries having nerve agents, too.
Mechas, mechanical horses, mecha-tanks, etc

Add to that list that Ceres has submarine dreadnoughts, Avalia has air dreadnoughts, and Moravia has tanks and artillery so massive that you could call them land dreadnoughts. So a few nations have really big war machines.

@Willy Vereb Noting Kavuria, I will have to be an autarkist and develop my own nationally produced (but more costly) Kavuria since there is no way in hell Avalia would sell Kavuria to Ceresia (or Ceresia buy for that matter).

@Combo move It'll be interesting to see where you go with your nation. Since I am right next door, I will be watching closely xD.

@Murtox Sorry to see you go. Welp, now the Old Continent is free again for another fully developed nation. I hope someone comes along and takes it, or one of previous guys who stated interest, like @Claw2k11 takes it (If he is even still here).

And then Fuso has its proper Yamato super battleships

Also, the 15 meter jet powered boat thingy @Willy Vereb's high as fuck elves are making which may or may not explode upon ignition

Well, while my supreme airship is far from a dreadnought it's still probably the single largest vehicle in use.
They are 542m long and filled with 4 million cubic meters of kavuria in nearly hundreds of thousands of gas chambers.
Albeit aside from the advantages gained from its size the Ylweran isn't such a threat. Granted that alone is enough. Since their creation three decades ago absolutely none of them got taken down. They are just too big in general.

I made a roll using 4 fudge dices.
Its result was +2 aka "great success". No idea jow this happened but it means you'll meet this crazy battleship in the future.
Albeit I changed its propulsion from simple jet to turboshaft-driven pumpjet. Which in common tongue means it's going to blast localized tsunamis from its behind as its way of travel.
Subtle as hell.

Do you even need guns then? You could literally topple over navies in your wake and at least screw with sub. Hell, you could probably just bring a whole load of AA guns for aircraft and then ram everything else.

The only way I see it could be destroyed is if you got a whole bunch of ships and planes to kamikaze the fuck out of it which Fuso is more than willing to do muwahaha

That does also mean its going to be stuck on open water unless you want your coastal cities to take friendly tsunami fire when it comes in to dock.

Toot toot mofos, the elven overcompensation ship has no breaks!

Not really. While I do need to move metric tons of water at high speed how do you think other warship propulsions work? The unit is also mostly underwater so if you are 10-50m away from the ship you are fine. It also has auxiliary nozzles for lower speeds because otherwise how do you operate it any lower velocity? That and in lower output this thing is actually very economical since you reach the same speed as other vehicles due to its huge mass flow. Albeit is size also makes anything bellow 30 knots inefficient so yeah, hence the auxiliary nozzles with much smaller diameter.

As for ramming ships, it may work if this were a cheap ship bit as the crown jewel of Yllendthyr any scratch on it is an offense. Granted given its speed and mass it would probably ram through the side of destroyers at full speed as if nothing has been there.

My ns is coming along smoothly but in all honesty its starting to feel a little rushed. I was never one to make bloated ns's. No offense to anyone, I enjoy reading exceptionally detailed NS's just not writing them :)

Anyway, important stuff will be there in fine detail!

I hope to publish it in the ooc within a day or so.

Need opinions on this.

UNIQUE

Dragon Scale:
Sturdier and lighter than mithril, it comes with the benefit of being one of the most heat shielding element available in the world. All of these advantages however come with the drawback that it is almost impossible to craft. It cannot be melted and while it can be shattered with sufficient forces, it will then become shards of limited use. Despite all of this, dragon scales are still researched items if only for the prestige they provide, larger ones often being used to give good protection to airships, even if they do leave a lot of chinks to be exploited. Smaller ones, while offering less protection, are even more researched to make body armor.

Vermillion Einzelunternehmen Bank Gold gedeckt Einheit:
'Gold Backed Units' Sold by the Vermillion bank based in Zubern, one unit cost exactly as much as one Draconic Ounce of 24 carat gold as per the Vinculi market price and likewise can be bought with gold. A lot of corporations can be squeamish about what kind of currency they accept as payment and so endorse the Einheit as a form of international currency which is backed by the fact that at any time, any amount of unit can be converted back in gold without any warning at the bank. This system has been going on for 3 centuries and the Vermillion bank has never once gone against its word.

Einheits are sold in certificates for set amount, in turn, certificates can be combined or split at a bank making for a easy and concealable way to carry millions in currency by both nobility and criminals as well. The banking secret here is king however and the bank does not provide any help should the valuable certificate be destroyed and as such, these slips of paper should be watched over carefully.

Drakoziran Fuel Type 77 (DFT-77):
While the nations of Vinculi benefit more or less equally of the Rocketry Institute's researches, they are free to customize these new technologies as they desire. One peculiar oddity in the field of rocketry however is the fuel sold exclusively by Serclaes Industries to Drakozir dubbed DFT-77. It is a liquid fuel that creates a lot more energy than any others known while being substantially less volatile. Having literally no downside to other fuels, it is a closely guarded secret that no one, even with samples at their disposal, has been able to reproduce. Truth is, the Primarch and Serclaes have a very special secret ingredient at their disposal. 'Ember'... is the name given by dragons to the glands that produce the flame they spit. Harvesting this liquid would be impractical to do on adult dragons, but not on freshly born ones.

It is no secret that Drakozir has purity laws in effect preventing incest as mix-breeding between certain linage as not to polute the warrior potential they have and likewise, some dragons do not enjoy the fact that their mates have been selected before they were even born and find love outside. The eggs of any of these intercourse are seized by the government to be destroyed, officially. Behind the curtain however, these eggs are hatched and the young dragonlings are hooked to tubes to drain their Ember, being feed by other tubes a diet to encourage its growth and kept sedated at all time. Dragons raised like that can generally survive a few short years before their glands become burned out and they are culled for scales and sent to the meat grinder. Ember fluid is then further processed and enriched to produce DFT-77. Needless to say, this is all extremely secretive as no doubt dragons would react violently to see their rejects being treated like so. No matter if they are bastards, they are still creatures worthy of more respect than that.

@Wernher

I've never been a fan of "only I have it" objects but that's not my call.

That said, the dft-77 is a cruel and barbaric method of producing a very high end-limited resource. I love it :)
