It's an interesting idea. Although I do believe the best course of action right now is trying to get out as soon and discreetly as possible.

Týfurkh's ability might be exactly what we need for that. Even if we don't receive an answer from the military of touch, as long as they hear, it'll be enough for them to come. Especially if Karina tells Týfurkh exactly what to say... Not only because she is the daughter of the general, but because she is an important member and has really valuable information.
Karina Frost

Karina was quietly waiting for Chres' stew to get ready as she heard Týfurkh suggesting to put guards for the night. It was indeed a wise decision. Honestly, it was the only choice they had, lest they wanted to count on just their luck... Which, seeing how lucky they were that entire day, might as well be the same thing as suicide... And she wasn't even counting with that mysterious power known as 'Insight'.

"It would be a wise thing to do... But just as Chres said, it would be better if we made pairs for that. We all need rest, but we don't know exactly how this 'Insight' might affect us... At least not all of us." she said, nodding towards Týfurkh, agreeing with him but shooting a discreet glance towards Chres.

When Chres started mentioning a child's tale, after she had mentioned the pact. Chres himself seemed to be lost in his own thoughts after saying that though. Karina didn't blame him. She herself had a lot of things to think about. It wasn't just about the war anymore. She had stumbled into something bigger... more dangerous than just the war... Tales and stories for children seemed to be almost... believable after everything they heard and saw until now...

"This is not about the war anymore, Chres... It's worse... Much worse..." she said, looking to him and the group with a grim expression on her face.

"That is exactly why I need to report to the military of touch and open their eyes to what is happening... It shouldn't be that hard now..." Karina said, with a sarcastic chuckle.

Octavio's words, although grim, indeed had a point. Gin, whatever he was, was undeniably powerful. As much as Karina didn't like to think about it, they had stumbled into something much bigger than themselves. Both sides were. Before Karina could offer herself to be on guard with Chres, Octavio did it first. In part, she was grateful, she really needed to eat something and rest a bit, but another part of her couldn't stop but to think how fast she came to... 'trust' that ragtag group made of people who barely knew each other enough to sleep near them.

"This unspoken pact... we need to think carefully about what will we do from now on... We stumbled into 'things' that might be much more powerful than we may think..." Karina said, looking to DB after he finished speaking.

After that though, Karina heard Sil's voice as she looked to Týfurkh, surprised he could talk before calling him a 'half tree half metal man with a touch of mouse'. Chres, soon after that proceeded to apologize due to what Sil had said.

Hearing that, Karina couldn't help but let out a surprisingly cute giggle, looking to Sil.
Always cheerful, if not a bit aloof, at least at that moment, Karina was glad that she was around. She sure needed something to calm her nerves down a bit.

After taking a bit of time to serve herself a bit of stew and eat, she turned towards Chres and the others after Chres himself mentioned the Jade Candles and the strange effect they had on the cultists and especially the sightless on the last fight.

"We do not have many jade candles left... We now know how effective they are against the cultists..." she said, taking one of the two jade candles she got from her own room in the inn from her bag and examining it.

"I can think of a few ideas on how to use them... For example, create lens to amplify their light with my ice magic..." She said, putting back the jade candle inside her bag as she continued eating the stew.
Will have my post done tomorrow.

Also,
@Pezz570,

@Fetzen brought up an interesting idea, to use Týfurkh's directional wave ability from a high location to possibly contact scouts from the military of touch or something.

Unlike my previous idea, it is certainly much more discreet, as using jade candles would basically erect a pillar of 'nothingness' to the sightless, basically telling everyone where they are.

The questions I have regarding this new plan are: is it possible to know their exact location (north, south etc.) while inside the distortion? If yes, then Karina could easily tell Týfurkh where the forward base is located so he can send an SOS to that direction.

We were talking about this too, but if the distortion doesn't block hearing, it would be easy for them to receive some type of acoustic confirmation from the FOB that their message was received, right? Again, it wouldn't be exactly discreet, unlike Týfurkh's ability. but it should be enough.

It sounds (no pun intended) like a solid plan for me. What about you two?

Ashkevron Residence in Askavi

Even though Mikhail already knew what Black Widows were capable of, it was the first time he saw one working as Faeril did as she headed over to the wooden frame, carefully studying the web she had woven mimicking Mikhail's memories. It was undeniably beautiful, yet he knew very well how powerful that was. After all... To be a healer means not only knowing how to heal, but consequently, also knowing how to kill. That holds true for both healers of the body and the mind. In a way... her web somehow was similar to Mikhail's wires. Delicate and beautiful, yet incredibly lethal. The way her fingers carefully moved, weaving and working... The same way Mikhail's hands moved when preparing an ambush, a trap or simply moving his wires.

Despite the session being already over, Mikhail choose to stay for a bit longer as he observed in silence Faeril carefully working and wrapping the web in a bundle after she was done. Despite her technique and precision, Mikhail could hear on her voice that she was exhausted. Before he could say or do anything though, Faeril dropped like a stone, unconscious as she safely dropped the bundle on the shelf.

The second she started to fall, Mikhail dashed towards, gently catching her before she hit the ground. While her pulse and respiration were still ok, it was obvious that she had surpassed her limits and was incredibly exhausted. On that situation, still holding Faeril on his arms, Mikhail thought about what to do. If he was alone with Faeril and Fatima on that house, it would be much easier, but that wasn't the case. The other males on that house would obviously not like that situation. After a brief moment considering his options, Mikhail turned towards the comfortable bed, the same one he used during the session and gently putting Faeril on it, heading towards the door soon after.

Mikhail walked down the stairs carefully watching his surroundings. It would be incredibly good if the other males were still asleep but that wouldn't happen. He didn't know what would be their reactions when they saw him coming down without Faeril. Counting on Fatima also didn't seem to be that much of a good idea. Despite the woman's sweetness, it was clear that the one who was the owner of that house was Faeril... Finally arriving on the kitchen, Mikhail saw Fatima getting out of it, wearing an apron and with two mugs of hot coffee on her hands. Above the table, the breakfast was carefully prepared, the same Fatima herself had offered to him earlier. Unlike before though, she wasn't alone. She was accompanied by a disturbing number of unknown faces. Upon seeing Fatima with such a warm smile on her face, Mikhail's eyes softened up a bit, but the second he saw the others, his eyes became as cold as they usually were. Piercing eyes that saw through everything. Despite his calm posture, he carefully analyzed the situation, watching for every and any strange movement from the other males that were present. Especially the one with a warblade on his hands.

"Once again, I thank you for the hospitality and the warm welcome, Fatima." Mikhail said with a small bow and a discreet, but calm and kind smile towards the woman, soon disappearing the second his eyes left her and went to the other warlord prince wielding a blade and the other males currently present.

"Faeril was incredibly exhausted after the session though and fell asleep. I assumed it would be ok to leave her in the bed she used for the session." Mikhail continued, explaining.

"She is currently sleeping on her workroom." he finished, still carefully watching the males' reactions and every movement.
@Noodles

Really like the idea for her skills. She seems to be incredibly interesting and unique regarding her fighting style, It would be really interesting if you described it a bit better and expanded on it. I really enjoy her usage of illusions (especially the invisible flames) and invisibility. Maybe describe how exactly she uses them in a combat situation, their limitations & possible applications.

At the same time, I would like to read and know a bit more about her in general. Her backstory (from where she came, who exactly she is), her personality, her appearance, her experience or training.

Tell us more about her!

I can see her being a really interesting character but I would ask you to be more descriptive on her CS and write more about her.

Bast Ragoczy

As they arrived at the mansion, Bast took a moment to appreciate the architecture. It was indeed a beautiful mansion. The design had a remarkable difference from the Barensia manor but it was beautiful nonetheless. This time it wouldn't be as easy though. The garden was probably on the back of the mansion and if he wanted to put it on fire, he would have to actually get in.

"Hm... Yes, it will be a bit more complicated than the last one..." Bast said after hearing Eilidh.

"I would really appreciate some help, my dear." he said, agreeing with her suggestion to distract the guards.

"But I do have one more favor to ask..." Bast said, taking out a piece of paper from inside his suit, a pen and an envelop he had prepared earlier, before leaving the guild.

"As I said before, I intend to end this pathetic display between the two houses..." Bast said, writing something in the paper before putting into the envelop and closing it. Even though Eilidh wasn't able to see that much about what he was writing, she was still able to take a glance at his impeccable calligraphy.

"As a part of your... Distraction, deliver this letter to the guards, ask them to hand it to the head of the family." he said, handing her the envelop.

"It's merely a letter asking for them to meet with the Barensia family near the watchtower, both the lady and her husband. It's short, but I'm sure that it will be enough to spark their interest..." Bast said, with a wink. In that situation, where neither of the sides wanted to give the first step in order to try and solve that conflict, Bast simply had to fake a letter...

"As soon as we're done here, we're going to the Barensia manor, to deliver them the same letter, only signed by the opposite family." he continued explaining.

"And then, we're going to simply watch how the situation will unfold from the top of the watchtower. Why there, you ask? Oh, no particular reason. I only heard that we have quite a view from there."
He said, with a chuckle.

"It will be quick, try to look as innocent as possible with your distraction. As soon as you start it I'm going to get in, put the garden on fire and get out." Bast said, as he waited for Eilidh to do her part.

Freyr

Titanica's attack, was incredibly effective in drawing their attention. Unfortunately, they were far too organized to be completely wiped out by it. Things were going moderately well though. Despite the surprise they had when the caravan members showed themselves to be much more organized than they had previously thought, everything was still ok. Yang was confronting one of the armored warlords in order to get the key to free the prisoners while Titanica was distracting the rest of their forces.

Unfortunately, both Nagare and Freyr wouldn't stay unnoticed for too long. Haley, who was looking at the fight from above, was quick to warn them that they had enemies going for them. Five knights, going towards them with their lances high. They had to do something right now lest they wanted to be hit by them.

"Nagare, run!" Freyr shouted as he put the bow on his back. Even though he wanted to take her to safety himself, he didn't have time to think too much as the knights were quickly approaching them. Unsheathing his two daggers, Freyr dashed towards the group of knights, hopefully to give Nagare enough time to reposition herself.

When the lances were about to hit Freyr, he twisted his body, dodging them as he redirected one of them to the ground, making it sink on the earth and catapult one of the knights off from his horse due to his momentum. Using that same lance, Freyr stepped on it, jumping high and kicking another one of the knight in the helmet with his powerful legs. Even though there were five knights going for them, he had already knocked two of them out of their horses. While they could still fight, it would probably take some time for the knight whom Freyr had kicked to regain his consciousness.

The second the second knight's body hit the ground with a loud thump, Freyr stood up on his horse, pouncing towards the other knight who had fell on the ground, with both of his daggers in a reverse grip, almost like a snake's fangs pointing to it's prey. Using the opening from the knight's helmet, he was going right for his eyes.

In Freyr's expression, there was no hesitation, no emotion, only the cold calmness of a hunter who was about to take his prey down.

@PaulHaynek @Restalaan @AzureKnight @Lmpkio
Hm, it could work too.
@Pezz570

It would take a good deal of precious resources (jade candles) and some time though.
It'll probably take a while though. They're in a pretty tough situation, being basically isolated inside the city.

The only way I can see for Karina to be able to get in contact with the military of touch is either if she gets out of the city, if enough time passes without her entering in contact with the military to justify them sending a small team to rendezvous with her or (the easiest option, but the most taxing to her body) to make something akin to a spotlight with a few of the Jade candles by making something to amplify their light with her ice (and break the distortion enough so ppl can see it from the outside.
Nina

@Hekazu

"You have a point... Things never go as planned. In part, that's exactly what make them interesting." Nina replied to Croaks, with a smile as they continued walking.

Be it on her job or on her personal life, most of the times, it was always good when things didn't went as planned. Especially on her job... Nothing ever goes as planned for someone who works with information, but that was exactly how the best bits of info were acquired. Her meeting with Croaks could be considered... fortunate. He wasn't a bad man, to be honest, he was surprisingly understanding and good for a gang boss... It was also incredibly funny to see how he went from 'gang boss' to 'paternal figure' in such a short time. She knew she was being far too friendly with him, but so far, he had shown favorable reactions.

"Hm... I'm sure they have something strong as well... In fact, I'm pretty sure he has some that can't be easily found in the combat zones." Nina said with a smirk after she heard he wasn't much of a wine drinker, mentioning that he needed something with a certain spike to forget about that biker they interrogated earlier.

"Oh, don't think too much about it. The information we received looks useless now, but all it takes to turn a bunch of useless information into a gold mine is one small fact to link them all together. Just one small thing." Nina said, with a mischievous smirk on her face.

"People often don't realize this, but all information is valuable." she completed, smiling to herself.

As both of them continued walking, Nina saw a lanky man, bumping on Croaks as he passed by them. The moment she saw that, she turned to Croaks.

"Did he-" Nina started, but was interrupted by Croaks, whom immediately grabbed the lanky man and looked at him with a death stare. It was all it took for the lanky man to give Croaks back his wallet. Almost desperately apologizing himself, the second he gave Croaks back his wallet, the gang boss was quick to fling the poor man into the dirty, toxin-filled river bellow them, followed by Croaks cursing him.
Watching that, Nina couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh yeah... He did!" she said, laughing as she looked to Croaks.
"Not a smart idea... Do they still try things like that with you?" Nina asked, looking to Croaks curiously. He was a big figure from a local gang... Small pickpockets should really know better than to try anything funny with him.

When asked about a plan, Nina turned to him, still walking. Unlike the other times, she had a plan. Well... It was more like a contact, but still...

"So... I do have some contacts. Getting to upper levels isn't that hard if you know the right people. But if we wanted to get to where the rich folk are, it would take some preparation... So we're just going up halfway." Nina said, looking to him.

"I know a guy that has a small warehouse on the third level that often sells products that are pretty hard to come by. Things that, ironically, are very easy to get on higher levels. Plus, he will give me a good discount, since I was the one that told him about a good ways to sneak products from higher levels to lower ones." she continued, winking playfully.

"I can get us there without many problems. I mean... you will certainly stand out... like... a lot... But as long as you stay with me, things should be fine." Nina said, obviously referring to Croaks' clothes & his overall look.

"No offense... Of course." She said, raising her hands, with a smirk. Despite what she said though, it was true that she thought he should try to wear himself a bit better.

After some time, they finally arrived on the checkpoint for the third level.
"Wait just a bit." Nina said, asking Croaks to wait as she went ahead to speak with the guards.

"Hey Eric!" Nina said as she got nearby one of the two guards that were standing right outside of the check point.

"Marcus isn't with you today?" Nina asked when she realized that she didn't know the second guard.

"Oh, hey there Nina. Nah... Bro got a nasty bullet wound the other day after a small discussion with a crazy Ronin. He's fine though. Just his pride that isn't." the man said with a chuckle waving back to Nina.

"Sounds exactly like him. Tell him I sent him a hug. Surely that will make him feel better." Nina said, with a playful wink and a laugh.

"Oho... That'll put him in high spirits." The guard said, laughing.

"So, what's going to be today?" he asked her.

"My birthday. Forgot to make preparations to go to higher levels... At least I thought I could buy some good wine for myself as a gift." Nina said, with an awkward smile. She indeed had forgotten to make preparations to go to higher levels. Otherwise she certainly wouldn't be happy just buying some wine for her.

"Weeell... That and I brought a friend with me. Someone I'm currently working with." Nina said, making a hand signal for Croaks to approach them.

"You should stop walking with those types, Nina. You're too good of a girl for that..." Eric said, with a long sigh after he looked to the man Nina was pointing to.

"As long as you keep him on a leash, fine. Will need to make a thorough check on him though. It's not that I don't trust you... I don't trust him." Eric said, with a piercing stare to Croaks as he approached the check point.
As Croaks approached the check point, he would be able to almost feel the guard's eyes analyzing him and Nina's awkward smile as she made a discreet hand sign for him to behave himself.
