Appearance:
Standing at 1,80m tall, a bit above what would be considered 'average', Nori's appearance could be considered quite 'normal' if it wasn't for the curious style of clothes he often wears. Traditional Japanese kimonos with colorful and striking patterns coupled with earrings and nails which he often paint black make his appearance quite unique compared to the others. While it is quite certainly hard to ignore him, nobody really knows if he wears that way just because he likes to or due to being raised in quite a traditional Japanese family, but most people agree that they do fit his calm and tranquil personality quite well.
Personality:
Nori is a very calm and tranquil guy. Unlike most people of his age, who are always so preoccupated with their future, getting a job, college and seem to never have time to do anything, Nori seems to always have a tranquil and carefree smile on his face. Much like his parents, he believes life should be lived, appreciated and not rushed. Due to that, most people enjoy his company, both due to the apparently 'calming' aura he seems to have and the fact that he is a very pleasant and flexible person to have nearby, enjoying both the silence and a good conversation.
While most people may see him as a lazy, good for nothing guy (he doesn't really denies the fact that he is lazy), he is surprisingly intelligent and, when necessary, he can be surprisingly diligent, depending on what he needs to do. Not surprisingly though, Nori isn't the type of guy that actually likes to work hard, most of the times doing only strictly the necessary to accomplish his current task and nothing more.

Nori wishes for nothing more but calm and tranquility. People nowadays live their lives almost as if they were eager to die. Trapped inside the cage they created themselves, most people forgot how to appreciate simple things such as the blue sky on a calm afternoon, the unique colors of the sunset and the beautiful shapes created by the wind and the clouds in the evening sky.
Background:
Even though Nori was born and raised in a traditional family with a rich historical heritage, his family was never overly strict like what most people believe a traditional Japanese family would. There was never any kind of pressure on Nori regarding his future or anything at all. His life was always tranquil as his family was always relatively wealthy and despite his laid back personality, Nori was always very talented and intelligent. Mostly due to the influence of his grandfather, whom he was really close, Nori grew very close and interested to his family's history and traditions, which made him become quite proficient in traditional calligraphy and even knowing how to perform and enjoy a traditional tea ceremony. But what was maybe the most surprising thing was the paintings he started to make. Using traditional techniques that he learned when he started copying the old paintings in his house, he soon became incredibly talented at it, becoming one of his favorite pastimes.

Ink Manipulation

While Nori's overall appearance doesn't change that much, other than a big Fude brush appearing on his hands, he becomes much more agile and faster than what he normally is. Since neither one of his abilities are suited to hand to hand or any type of close combat, he needs to use his agility in order to keep a medium distance between him and his enemy. While in this magical state, Nori can manipulate the ink (and different ink types) coming out of his Fude brush. The streaks and paintings he creates can be either painted in the ground or walls, functioning like normal ink or even in a '3d' way, with flat streaks of paint being painted into the air itself, without anything to support them.
List of Techniques:
- Suzuri no tamashii: Nori produces streaks or splashes of ink with his brush. Much like the yokai with the same name, the ink on said spot begins to ripple in a slow, rhythmed pace, almost as if it was an endless amount of ink hiding underneath the surface. It can be used in a multitude of ways, but Nori can use it to instantly transport himself from one streak to another (as long as he is touching a streak of ink of the same type), redirect attacks or even using it as traps to relocate an enemy (depending on it's size and if the creature falls on the ink).
- Demonic Ink: A quick and sudden streak of blood red ink, like splashes of blood coming from a sword wound, this type of ink has a frightening ability to cut that which it touches. It might be a simple ability, but it's particularly difficult to predict and defend due to how his ink manipulation technique works, being extremely different from a sword (reach, speed, angle of attack & etc.).
- Flowing ink: Nori readies his brush and draws a long line on the ground. The ink from this line begins expanding outwards, covering everything on it, from walls to trees and buildings. A moment after activating this technique, everything around the area it was initially casted becomes covered by black ink, becoming completely black. While inside the area covered by black ink, Nori's abilities are more powerful and can be used more freely. This ability can be used together with Suzuri no tamashii too, making all the ink around the area being able to be used for said ability without Nori needing to paint another streak.
- Hyakki Yagyō: "Night Parade of One Hundred Demons". While all other abilities can be used with simple strokes, this one requires time and it is harder to be used. Nori begins painting images of a hundred onis, demons and yokais. The beautiful paintings of each creature slowly come to life as soon as he finishes painting them. This ability, although strong and able to overwhelm his target, requires a great deal of concentration and attention and he isn't able to use any other ability aside from this one. Interestingly enough, after using this ability a few times, he realized that some of the paintings he made started becoming stronger and more intelligent the more times he painted them and the more details he added, going as far as to acquire a personality. While he can still paint a hundred weaker, nameless demons in order to overwhelm an enemy, if he takes his time to paint the few yokais that he is used to paint with more detail, they will be definitely stronger and be able to hold their own much better against a strong opponent. That said, it takes more time and concentration than simply painting nameless demons.
