I was going through the posts that were on the subject of faceclaims for the gods/goddesses and I saw Bruno Mars being mentioned. I guess he was mentioned purely for Zaheen's sake as both of them have a somewhat-similar skin tone. But, since you haven't really chimed in what you think Hephaestus' preferred form/face claim should be, we really can't do nothing about that.

and children of athena, and to a lesser extent artemis and a few others, can be explained by origins more in line with their progenitors respective myths. fairly easily, in fact.

faceclaims should probably at least have some measure of a nod to the nature of the god(dess) they're for, given that some of the myths are descriptive and all of them are iconic

I do take the myths of the gods and goddesses into account when thinking about their faceclaims, but I also try to allow other people to chime in since most of us share the godly parental units with each other. Myself personally, I have three people whom of which that applies to.
