Do you think the reason Jesus Christ doesn't rise again is because we keep putting up crosses and he gets flashbacks on how that went last time?

I will never show empathy for a bigot or a man who believed empathy is a made up term. Simple as that.

Souffie, no increase. Souffie no increase. Souffie no increase. D:
This is sort of RP-related, but it's mainly something for me and what coincidentally happened.

Okay, so like, a little more than six months, I've been kind of tinkering with an original idea for a Slice-of-Life-esque novel idea, right? Like, mostly what I have is the idea for the plot to revolves around the lives of 3-4 core families and the people in them(all ages). Well, the only thing I managed to get gathered was the name and some misc. info(consensus, geological profile, certain imports/exports and the like). The main aspect I was having a problem was the families. I wasn't sure what names I wanted to give them and what ethnicity I wanted them to be.

Now to what really amazed me recently.

Overthe past - oh I wanna say two months? - I've slowly been developing a few families for various RPs I've joined. It recently became aware to me that I unknowingly created those 3-4 families that I originally needed for my idea. It was something that really shocked me because I actually made serious headway in developing my novel idea.

Yeah, I don't know, I just wanted to share that with you guys. It was something that genuinely made my night/morning(it's currently 3:12am when I typed this) something special.
Good morning my fellow RPers!
So, I'm still kinda new to the guild, but I've been really enjoying my time so far and I've found plenty of interesting RPs to join. However, some of those RPs feel like they are slowly dying off...so my question is, how do you guys, who have more experience, handle the inactivity? Do you try to get the people motivated? Do you start a discussionas as to why people stopped posting? How long do you wait until you decide to drop out? I'd just really hate to see those RP die, but i don't know what I can do to stop it. Btw, im just a regular player, not a Gm or anything.

Thanks to anyone who leaves some input :)

'Ello, Zorogami! Glad you're enjoying your time on The Guild.

In my experience, the rps I have ran myself that went through intervals of inactivity and periods of slowness have always benefitted from a combination of two things. First, posting a recruitment thread in interest check sub-section of the section it's in. It also helps to post it in the General Interest Check section as well. You never know who will happen upon either the one in the General Interest Check section or the interest check sub-section. As for the section thing, well, that revolves around the overall dedication that the gm has. If they truly want it to survive, then they will do all that they can to make it live on. Of course, if they aren't wanting to make it work, then obviously they will let it die out without anymore effort on their part.

The thing about RPs slowing down in activity is always a problem. You never know which rp will survive for more than the cursed 4 month mark and which ones will go on to have 1+ year runs. I know of a few on the guild currently that have been up ever since the guild came back from the GuildFall of late-2011. And I know of some RPs - some that I was apart of mind you - that didn't last more than 2-4 months.

So, I guess it really just depends on the two things I said. Oh, and the players themselves. There is no future for any rp with players who don't post. That's just a given.

Granted, but instead of a Hot Coffee IV, you're hooked to a cold coffee IV.

Granted, but now you have brought ISIS to the guild, and they're trying to recruit our roleplayers to write their Autobiography.

I wish for a clearer ending to the third Matrix film.
