I had the same thought the other day, and that works on my end. Don't know if they have a very deep friendship, but I imagine they see each other in study hall or something frequently enough and catch up/cram then.

Which then loops into @Altered Tundra, Danny probably took karate lessons from Sensei Marco in the summers or off-seasons (and sporadically throughout the rest of the year). He's probably seen them in those classes, and that might be the most Matteo and Danny have interacted. I think Matteo's carefree nature is a little weird to Danny, so they might not have interacted much outside of karate lessons.

@Azure Bubbles - I... do not think Danny and Han get along. I think their personalities clash a bit, when it comes to Han's bravado and confidence. They don't have a lot in common, and Danny doesn't gravitate towards the popular cliques as much as he just hangs out with his teammates. I think they have the most room to grow in terms of a friendship over the course of the RP, as I think they come from entirely different worlds.@webboysurf

Nah but I get what you mean. It's not everyone's cup of tea immediately. Takes a little getting used to and especially if there's a situation where it requires a serious impression, Matteo would be all "Hakuna matata everyone! It'll be fine" despite not know it will absolutely not be fine.

It's funny me and @King Kindred were also talking about how that Matteo being too much in the moment is sorta his fatal flaw. How he never really plans ahead or thinks too much past the current moment. Which, as the resident tech of the team, would be a bit worrisome especially if he is tinkering with some of their tech and messes up.

how would you describe their personality?

Matteo is curious by nature, but he's also someone who lives life from moment to moment, never worries too much about what might happen or what could happen. Too often is it that people stress about the mistakes about what they might make in a year or now if they don't study for this test or apply for this college now. While he understand that fear, life is too short to worry about what ifs. He chooses to stay in the now, live life as if you could die at any moment after the one you're living right now. 

To those close to him, they know him to be a calm and collected young man. His family knows him to be immensely curious about all things, not just machines and the parts that make them up but life itself. Curious about the world is unraveling around them. He will never not wonder how he can help people and in his neighborhood, he tries to do that using the knowledge he has. There are more ways he could help, part of him knows this, but he hasn't found the questions nor the answers or any cheat sheets to help him understand it. All he knows is he feels like he can do more. He just doesn't know what.

Matteo only knows what he can do and that's help ease the stress of day to day things his people might have: broken ac, computer has a virus, ways to avoid getting charged from PG&E this month because they can't afford it. Matteo just wants to help and he's always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needs it.

what has their life in Angel Grove been like?

Not just Matteo himself, but the Rosales clan has been a mainstay in Angel Grove for close to 50 years. His great grandparents laid down roots and for generations, his family has held down the same home in their corner of Angel Grove. By all rights, they are what most would consider lower middle class. And Matteo is just the oldest of the current generation of Rosales men. 

Since an early age, there's always been two things about him that stood out: his ingenuity and not just the desire to do good but willing to act on that desire. Sometimes this put a target on his back, but his parents always made sure he had the tools and skills to contribute to those desires. Whether this was making sure he knew how an engine worked as early as he could or when he started showing an intelligence and general curiosity for all things electronic, how to put together a computer that would evolve into curiosities that only he could teach himself. But sometimes the way he has always been would put another target on his back. People fear what they don't understand, so naturally every few years, bullies target him. It even got to the point where his charm and willingness to not escalate the issues wouldn't work and his Uncle Marco suggested he learn how to defend himself.

Matteo hated confrontation. In fact, he always avoided it if he could but he was also not a coward. Danger didn't scare him but he didn't have much common sense about it to begin with, so of course when his uncle suggested that he said yes immediately. For two years now he has been taking karate lessons and hasn't had to deal with a bully since. 

what can they do? what are they good at?

Matteo, for as long as he could remember, has always been good at fixing things. Maybe it's because of his upbringing: one side of his family (his mother's), there's a long line of mechanics and car enthusiasts that helped him understand vehicles. He even learned how to take apart and put back together an engine before he was seven (with help, of course). On the other side (his father's), where the Rosales name comes from, is a collection of engineers of varying types, but his father is an electrical engineer who also loves to work on computers, so naturally some of the knowledge fell Matteo's way. Because of this, he's acquired some useful knowledge in being able to take apart not just cars but computers too and has a working knowledge of some electrical systems.

Curiosity is one of his strongest traits. He's not a cat so it won't kill him, but he loves to know how things work. He has gone through a lot of trial and error but with his knowledge, he has won several science fairs and uses his knowledge to help however he can. A lot of his neighbors call him instead of actual electricians because they can be expensive.

Aside from that, he has been taking karate lessons for about two years now. Long story short, he had a bully problem and nothing was being done with his approach, so his Uncle Marco on his father's side, teaches Karate at the community center, so Matteo has been taking classes there three times a week. He likes to think he's good enough to hold his own.

how would they react to danger?

Depends on the kind of danger. Life-threatening tends to ward him away but Matteo also wouldn't hesitate to help anyone who needed trouble. But there's also the curiosity in him to see what actually is causing this danger. The desire to know what it is and do what he can to help will always win the battle against common sense.

You know, it's odd because when you look at her and then me and then back to her and then back to me, what do you see? A cult of personality~ She and I just work. Our relationship is somewhat symbiotic - we're kinda reliant on each other to function in one way or another. Where she felt comfortable enough to talk about Andre with me (and even ask me to work on his bike with her), she has been helping me with some tricks to try not to always just think about the present. Planning for the future isn't my specialty but I'm trying!

Danny Jackson - I get the feeling Danny doesn't like me that much? I can't place it but I know he doesn't hate me but i always get the sense that me being around isn't his first choice. Or I could be wrong. Either way, I don't mind him. Just wish he'd loosen up a bit.

Charlie Anderson - My...acquaintanceship? Can we be friends? Screw it, we sorta friends! Okay, my sorta friendship with Charlie was a lot like sour patch kids. At first, I thought she was sour. Intimidating...whatever you wanna call it, but as time went on, I realized that, well, she's still kinda sour but a good sour. She's not that bad guys! Actually, strip away some of that outward personality and you'll find..ah, you'll figure it out yourself! I'm not gonna blab.

Haneul Lee - Han's so extra but I kinda dig that. Extra and flamboyant. Soooo flamboyant but I respect that. Individuality is hard to find and one that's not performative is even harder, yet Han has it in spades and it doesn't feel fake. Helps that I got used to it just by hanging around Sera. I can't imagine we'd be as close if i had just met him in a dark alley and he asked if I wanted to go shopping (I would have said yes by the by cause I lack any survival skills in that context, it seems!)
