But hey, by giving chronology the finger, we can officially call ourselves comic book writers.
Honestly, I think my next post is gonna be a montage, just hit the high points of Toyman's reign of terror to catch up with the pack and have Supes on the proverbial ropes before he starts to mount a comeback. If we really want to wrap up Year One by the end of September, I'm gonna have to step on the gas pedal.
Also, regarding my last 2 posts in the IC, I'm pushing Gwen's timeline forward, and will probably continue to do so as I move on. My original plan was to have season one run through her final year of high school. I don't know if that's going to work with our shorter season, but I'd like to get as far into the year as possible, as if there's a time jump in season 2 I'd like her to be in college at the start of the season. In reality, I kind of need her to be to fit with the overall story I had planned for Season 2.
Just want to keep people abreast of what I'm doing so no one freaks out when it's Halloween for her in a week or two, and Christmas a week after that.
Judging by the pace that my Superman posts are going, I'll be amazed if Clark makes it through one week before Gwen graduates.
Time in these games is weird, y'all.

I also have to love the call-back they did in The Amazing Screw-On Head. Which is honestly one of my favorite Mignola-related things period. Tragically, it never made it past this pilot episode which aired like once on a random night on the SyFy Channel and I happened to catch it by chance.
(On a similar subject, if we ever do approve non-Big Two characters, I'm totally applying for Screw-On Head)

I think that moreso boils down to "Hey, look! A Batman thing you might recognize!", because that's been Warner Bros' logline from day one. If there is a Bat-character to milk money off of, milk they shall.
I also think this stems from WB's lack of confidence in DC products that aren't Batman. Kinda like how early-years Marvel would slap Spider-Man's face in the corner of their covers, so even if you were reading some B-list book they'd be reassuring you going "hey, we're the guys who made Spider-Man, and you love Spider-Man, right?" He's the one sure thing they've got; regardless of your feelings on incarnation (x) of character (y), everybody loves Batman.
In other news: Marvel, don't you fuck me...
That better not be a setup for some stupid twist. I've already pretty much sworn off Marvel altogether, but if this turns out to be another bait and switch, I'll......get upset and complain about it on the internet, I guess.

I never really cared about the hero's costume matching whatever animal it's supposed to be-- I mean, if we're going to really get into it, Spidey should have six extra eyes and the web-shooters in his butt, Wolverine and Batman should both be brown, and Black Canary should replace her fishnets with feathers.
Without going into color theory (which I never actually studied), it seems to be that in comics, generally speaking good guys wear primary colors, bad guys wear secondary colors. It's about the closest thing to team uniforms they get, and works really well as visual shorthand, especially in splash pages with tons of characters displayed.
Plus, I mean, people just respond more strongly to them than more natural colors-- there's a reason everything from first-person shooters to national politics divide opposing sides up into Red Team vs. Blue Team. You want something that catches the eye immediately and provokes a response? Primary colors FTW.
