Battle is the most magnificent competition in which a human being can indulge. It brings out all that is best; it removes all that is base. All men are afraid in battle. The coward is the one who lets his fear overcome his sense of duty. Duty is the essence of manhood. What is the price of war though? Sanity, morals, humanity?

An explosion of dreaded dissonance enveloped the scene, ninja on both sides had been lost, most of them not even past their eighteenth year. Fires had burned down villages reducing them to nothing but ash. The ash wasn’t even able to rest before it became another tool of war and yet everything was silent. There was an unnatural peace to silence in the sense of so much death, the shallowness of your own breath, the feeling of your heartbeat within your veins. All of time stops for what feels like hours, but are mere seconds in reality. This is war.

A low ringing began to play, growing louder and louder, white noise stampeding like an incoming horde. Suddenly a face appeared mouthing words, except the words got louder in unison with the ringing. The image came into focus, a fresh kunoichi carrying the lifeless limb of Gisho. ”Gisho….” louder, “Gisho…” LOUDER, “GISHO!”. In that instant all the life and sound flooded into Ghiso’s silence. His hand stiff as a board touched his ear before it recoiled in pain, his fingertips blood red. However, his right arm had not been raised with his left. His brain frantically processing everything around him forced his head to shift.

Jolting up from his bed in a panic the Hokage let out an unnerving cry. His hand in a vice like grip around his right arm. Sweat has soaked his sheets and beaded on his fore head. His breath was ragged and his heartbeats was accelerated. His blurred vision came into focus around the stump where is right arm once was. His left arm quickly shifted to the top of his head as his fingers glided through his jet black hair. Quickly catching his breath his heart rate returned to normal, but he had not noticed his assistant Shinko had been standing there faithfully with a glass of water. “It was the same dream again…this damn phantom pain is killing me.” Gisho scoffed playing down the side effects of losing an entire arm.

Gisho had a very commanding presence with a physique to match. Even going into old age he was the pinnacle of shinobi stature. He was around 193 cm and 113 in kg, the muscle on his body seemed to be chiseled into if it weren’t for the cascading scars that varied in sized that stained his once perfect body. He had stern dark features but the silver started to kiss the sides of his hair that was once blacker than the shadows around him. The only stipulation now was the stump that had been bandaged up and covered with a padded arm guard. “You know it wouldn’t kill you to say a few words now and then.” Reaching out for the glass and chugging the water, a stream leaking from the sides of his mouth.

“I know you want me to tell the medical division about this phantom pain, but it will go away like the rest.” Wiping the excess water with his one arm. “Yeah yeah call me stubborn all you want, but I’m fine I’ve never felt better.” Gisho was a very proud man, years of being the pillar of hope and the symbol of peace created a persona he had to keep up at all times. Weakness, that’s just it, something that didn’t or rather couldn’t exist for the Hokage. Gisho knew the pain, the pressure, and the constant itch was merely temporary, but the safety of the people was forever. Regardless, Gisho found his tranquility under the waterfall in the Valley of the End where he trained rigorously for year in order to master jutsu with just one hand. The silence was the only thing that could calm him anymore.

“Huh so it’s that time again. I wonder if we’ll have any shinobi of worth this time, I’m looking forward to seeing what that old hack of a Tsuchikage has for me this time.” Gisho forced himself up wincing as a jolt ran through his invisible arm. Gisho noticed the slight glare in Shinko’s eyes but ignored it as he waded towards his closet. “You think my ex-wife will show up? Yeah that’s probably a no too.” Gisho carefully slipped on his Hokage garb using his one hand and mouth, he didn’t need help it otherwise made him quite unsettling as if he weren’t already. Even the symbol of peace is quite human, his previous wife had left him for it was thought he was caught cheating on her with another woman, the rumor still lies buried in secret. Shinko simply stood at the same spot he had when Gisho awoke listening attentively, but not moving an inch. “Well anyways we should probably get down there and welcome the new shinobi. The more things change the more they stay the same.” Ginsho chuckled as he adorned the symbolic hat with the land of fire’s emblem proudly demonstrated.

Shinko nodded and fell in line with the Hokage on their way towards the gates of Konoha. Shinko was a rather rare case. He rarely spoke and it was almost never in company of any one sans the Hokage. Some say he was a mute or had his tongue severed so no man could force his secrets. Some wonder why the Hokage chose him to be his chief supervisor but again those are only rumors and theories. Otherwise, shinko is a very bland man. His face is rather pointed like a snake, his eyes were very narrow and hard as if he was constantly sizing up whomever was in sight. He was average build but he gave off a vexatious aura which was yet to be decided if it was a blessing or a curse. Regardless the relationship between the two was shrouded in secrecy, yet the Hokage seemed to be able to communicate without words and hold an endearing amount of respect for the man to keep him so close.

As Ginsho reached for the door knob his hand froze as he felt an overbearing and suffocating cloud of death entering the village. ”One..two…….there’s supposed to be three.” Shinko took quick notice of the sudden change in demeanor, something not to take likely. “Looks like the time has come.” Gisho said heavily. Shinko with a nod retreated back to the side of the Hokages desk while Gisho had flung the windows open.

“Hokage-sama, we are here to report the results of our mission to find the lost squad in the Forest of Death."

Ginsho turned around to face the two survivors and had read what happened to the third as he gazed into their eyes. “It looks like we need to talk” Ginsho said with a hint of seriousness before he smiled with his signature look as his eyes closed and his eyebrows perked while the last words off his tongue seemed to trail off.

Rise of the Bijū Chrysalis

With the advent of the Bijū and the creation of the Jinchūriki there was peace for a time. The rise of the Juubi instilled a fear and possible reality for the ninja world. If allowed to, it would once again challenge the presence of humanity. A risk far too great to be overlooked. Shortly after the death and exhumation of the nine tails spirit from the body of the once great Jaakuna Aka, the price of holding such power was too great for any one village. Once the second Great War had come to an end, the villages met to discuss a way to prevent the Bijū from falling into the wrong hands. It seemed as though their plights had been answered by a mysterious force.

The Bijū had systematically been destroyed and converted into small gems (oval in shape and able to fit in ones palm) while the village leaders met. Rumor has it they were converted by a disgruntled disciple of the sage, others observed and Otsutsuki, little is known. With the discretion of the neighboring Kage, the gems had been scattered and kept classified and redacted. In the current day the gems power has been revealed to the great leaders and declassified and entrusted to shinobi with outstanding clearance.

Chrysalis Abilities:

• Each gem has a connection to all previous Jinchūriki through spiritual means that acts as a tether to the current user allowing them to communicate with their respective past owners and share memories.
• The gem can be used in numerous ways. First, the gem can be affixed to a weapon allowing for the power of said weapon to increase tenfold. It also allows said weapon to inherit the properties of the Bijū in possession. Taijutsu specialist can embed the gem into their skin allowing them a steroid property, thus increasing their speed and strength for a short period of time. Ninjutsu/Genjutsu users who use the gem as a conduit can temporarily increase the potency of their jutsu by one full rank.
• Upon swallowing or breaking said gem and inhaling the dust the user will go into the Primal Rage (Genshiteki Gekido) State. In this state the user gains markings from head to toe in the style following the respective Bijū along with a change in eye color and general appearance. In this form the user gains all the abilities and properties of the respective Bijū and the ability (Sanbi – Ability to make coral) to create Bijū Bombs. Finally, the user is granted a giant buff in overflowing strength and chakra.

Bijū Chrysalis Rules/Limitations:

• As of now the Bijū will stay as the standard beasts (fox, raccoon, turtle, etc..) Unless you have an original idea for a replacement animal and sub abilities. If you do feel free to pitch said idea and we can accommodate accordingly.
• The Primal Rage (Genshiteki Gekido) State will only last a maximum of 5 minutes IC before ending abruptly.
• The longer and more strain used in Primal Rage will result in burns along the skin and tears within the muscles. Effects wear off after use and recovery.
• The Users can have 2 free uses of Primal Rage without side effects before the “Corruption” begins to take place. Every use afterwards begins to transform the user into the actual tailed beast within the gem. Horns, wings, or scales will begin to develop as their mind erodes and the beast takes over. After 6 uses the user succumbs to full corruption and is replaced with the Bijū. Using Primal Rage will reduce time elapsed in the state and accelerated beast traits after the 2 free uses.
• Once the User dies, the character will be turned into the original crystal.
• Taijutsu augments depreciate over blows and last 2 minutes with a 10 minute cooldown.
• No one gem is stronger than the other in terms of tails, each one is equally matched.
• Gems can be destroyed in battle by a sufficient ability.
• Kenjutsu/Weapon augments must be approved before use.
• Ninjutsu/Genjutsu augments will lose potency after 5 jutsu.

Amegakure Organization & Ranks

Amegakure's organizations and ranks

• Seiki-hei, regulars
  The run of the mill shinobi that performed everyday shinobi tasks. Genin, chunin and most (special-)jonin make up the regulars, under the command of the jonin commander. They operate under the Amegakure Shinobi code, and adhere to the Amegakure ninja way. Ultimately they are the same as most other shinobi forces. As for their uniform, the Amegakure regulars are allowed some leniency in their uniform. Cloaks, however, are advised due to the weather conditions in Amegakure.
• Kuroji, black ops
  The ANBU of Amegakure, black ops specialize in espionage and assassination. Contrary to other villages, the black ops are sometimes sent out on missions for monetary gain as the low number of shinobi in the village don't allow for any shinobi to be underutilized. As such, the black ops are part of the assassination squads that undertake missions as well. Their uniforms are a bit more strict and are recognizable mostly through their black clothing and an additional metal forehead protector that says 'Black Ops' on it, usually worn on a belt loop alongside the regular Amegakure forehead protector.
• Sakai ban'nin, border guards unit
  Due to the nature of Amegakure's position in the middle of three larger villages, they are forced to vehemently protect their borders at all costs. These units will go out and confront trespassers, ordering them to turn back and take the long way around Amegakure, and if they fail to do so, will engage and theoretically destroy the opponent. The border guards are typically lead by a borderguard-specific jonin, and then three regular shinobi, but can also consist of four borderguard shinobi.
• Fukisokuna, irregulars
  These shinobi are anything that doesn't fall in any of the other categories. They are perhaps closely related to the Sannin rank - not really part of the armed forces, but at the same time definitely tied to Amegakure. There is no given title that the fukisokuna use, and most of them are titular, nicknames and such. Currently there are no fukisokuna, but perhaps in the future.
• Minashigo-in koyō sābisu, Orphanage employment service
  Perhaps the most infamous of the Amegakure institutions, the orphanage employment service or otherwise known simply as 'the orphanage' is a service that deals with children abandoned by their parents or who lost their parents due to war. They come from all over - but mostly from Amegakure. This is due to the frequent usage of Amegakure lands to do battle in by other countries which causes displaced children to end up either in Amegakure or wandering into Amegakure - though, at times, the orphanage has been known to employ the Black Ops to exfiltrate orphans from other areas outside of its' borders. This has earned them a bit of a black mark because they are effectively taking orphans, which isn't so bad. But the process after it is somewhat of a grey area, because the children are then raised as shinobi and made to fight in the Amegakure forces. This has earned critique from other villages, but Amegakure has been quick to retort that they are merely taking care of the children that their wars have orphaned.

Many of these institutions go under different name in the day-to-day lives of the shinobi, as nobody would refer to a shinobi as a regular, or as an ANBU specialist as a black-ops. They are merely there in the upper echelons of the armed forces, used by commanders and kage alike.

Somewhere, in the steppes, where the grassy plains roll ever on, there is a village hidden in plain sight. Not quite a shinobi village in truth, it is merely the village hidden in debauchery. Far removed from any civilized villages and feared by the local savages that roam the steppes, it is a den of sin and violence. The 'kage', if we can even call it that, is a man named Yopparai Ramu Koku (translation: Drunkard Rum-coke). Originally from the depths of god knows where, this man has gotten his hands on some artifacts from various countries and got away with it, escaping without so much as a single sighting. Even his current hideout is unknown. Out of all the hidden villages, his village might be the only one truly hidden.

Perhaps it's because his village is little more than a palisaded area with four houses in them. One is a tavern, the other is a brothel, and the third is a weaponsmith to service all the fighting men under Yopparai's payroll. The fourth house is a 'gigantic' manor. It's not really gigantic but out of all the four, it's the biggest. It's Yopparai's personal home and it combines all the three aforementioned houses by possession ludicrous amounts of alcohol, copious amounts of whores, and insane amounts of weaponry and armor.

The largest amount of people in the employ of Yopparai are actually not shinobi, but local savages - they ride horses and can shoot bows very well. Like the Samurai, they can use chakra, they just never bothered to adapt it into shinobi ninjutsu arts. Instead, they use chakra to augment their arrows while riding their horses. It'll be a new threat for the expedition to overcome.

The few shinobi that are in the village hidden in debauchery are experts at what they do - which is killing, raping, plundering and generally anything that isn't legal. Not that the concept of 'law' means anything in the steppes. Far from the discovered world, there is no such thing as right and wrong, not in the areas around the ''village'' hidden in debauchery.

These lands used to be owned by nobody, as the carefree nomads of the steppes just moved from one place to the other and did not care so much about earthly possessions. Among them were the Kaguya, who fled the known world after their close eradication during the time of the warring clans - the Sengoku Jidai. They represented the steppe best of all - their chaotic nature was allowed free reign here and they were no longer tempted to bloodshed by the masses of people around them. But something ended that and the Kaguya were forced to abandon whatever homes the had for greener pastures.

Yopparai Ramu Koku

Yopparai is a man originally, as said before, from whoever knows the fuck where. It has to be somewhere in Kirigakure, however, as he possesses something that can only originate from there - the Shibuki. How he got it is unknown, but it is known that it vanished from the protection of Kirigakure some 10 years ago and was never seen again.

Coincidentally, a man by the name of Yopparai started showing up in bingo books at that time. It was small at first - kidnapping of pets, harassment of women, and even a singular theft of a child. It got more gruesome as time went on with assault, theft, robbery and murder. It came to a climax when he assaulted a Daimyo while he was traveling and kidnapped his daughter who was set to marry another Daimyo's son the next day. She was never released and is presumed dead. After that, he escaped the known continents and went east, to the steppes. Here he founded his village in recent years, but nobody quite knows what happened between then and now.

Yomigaeri

Appearance

Revival. What does that word mean? The Yomigaeri had been revived in more ways than one. The compendium of fate had sought to raise the dead back to the realm of the living. Seijuro Nandate and Jaakuna Aka once again breathed the fresh air of the world instead of the dirt and grime, six feet under. However that wasn’t the only revival, the start and destined ending that had already been set by the twist of fate. Criminal ninja from the world of old had been gathered in allegiance to one devoted cause, the revival and new paths of fate dealt the Yomigaeri a new deck of cards, the Major Arcana tarot cards. With each of the Yomigaeri fatefully instructed with their own card and role in the Yomigaeri the transition was almost complete. With the ever-growing pestilence fermenting in the current era of the shinobi, there was one simple remedy to the situation, the Yomigaeri. Several of the ninja being burned and neglected by their respective villages meant there was a new vision, a better world, where the tyranny of the five nation and their glass castle of peace, would come tumbling down. With the mysterious death and disappearance of the Bijuu, the Yomigaeri dawn new animals forgotten by the world and become the personification of reborn tailed beasts.

Naruto Revival

The vision for Naruto Revival will be to create an original story line for the Naruto alternate universe to deliver a unique and entertaining experience. We’re also looking to create a stable story striving for longevity with the help of members like you who are willing to join and be part of a grand experience. There will be quite a lot of flexibility with character design, side story driven plots between users, and mission/world events. The story will remain true and close to the canon universe using the framework, such as the five villages, history of the first two shinobi war, and the original 4 hokage. If you crave a genuine Naruto RP with twists and turns and in it for the long haul than this is the thread for you. Naruto Revival will be Casual to High Casual, Moderated by myself and my Co-GM (Lyfe), and the OOC will be up by the end of this week expanding on the premise along with rules and character sheets.
