Not gonna lie, with my brain having a small dieselpunk (I know this isn't dieselpunk) kick irl this RP seems pretty cool in concept and such! So wanted to drop by with a compliment at least.

Though I will confess, due to afforementioned small dieselpunk kick in my brain as of late I was half-tempted to ask about joining or making some weaponizing-blight military scientist/arcaheologist type or chemical-weapon-making (as in gas stuff) elf lady. Maybe.

My only worry is getting posts out so fast within a 48 hour time period, since I am usually a once a week post type of guy these days, and I always worry about overextending myself with RPs like I used to do years ago. (T_T)

@Dyelli Beybi
So sorry for the delay, I meant to send in the discord server not to wait up for me, I think maybe it got lost though. I'm more free now, and I made a quick post!

It was a fair bit of information to take in as Nils gave her his side of things, though given the odd circumstances some part of her was...believing it all at face value thus far. Nils didn't seem to be a liar, to her experience, and if a detective was down in the sewers above (that was already odd enough as it was) as well then it painted a better picture of belivability as well. Given the odd nature of how any sort off compotent city planner could miss a winding set of underground caverns, the insanity of her run-in with a Steelix (who liked dried jerky in this case), the oddity of the tunnel leading DOWN to here from the already underground sewers, and so forth, it seemed to her that the theory her current traveling compatriot had about this potential 'phenomenon' they were tracking down made more sense than not.

She'd likewise return the favor in giving her share of details to Nils about what had happened on her end thus far, though even as they continued on beyond that it made her wonder internally as well. What kind of Pokemon could be casting a voice so far, enough to lead people on potentially into some kind of....what, a trap? A scheme? A desperate plea to trap a new friend down here with them? Hmm. Yes, she felt a Pokemon was the root cause of this perhaps, speaking of the mysterious crying and such that is.

But the whole thing about the caves being down here, no one noticing, and things not having collapsed into them some time ago? No, that was a mystery that screamed either 'an abnormal and utter act of Arceus' or overall just that 'a Pokemon did it' in any case to her mind. Beyond that, well, it wasn't something to ponder on too deeply for now perhaps. Perhaps. Either way she carried Pyrite in her arms for the time being, with Scrapper following right at her side (right side).

But if other kids had been lured down, what was their next lea-

"TUFFFFFFFFFF!"

This was then followed by the voice of a young man screaming, "SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!"

-...d. Their next lead.

Given they apparently had no communications with the outside world and no way to send non-creepy videos out to others, she'd need to apologize to Amelia and the Professor later as well for that matter despite her lack of knowledge at the time, she'd need to talk to the Professor about that potentially later when it came to the Rotom Phones he'd handed out to them. Yet for now, she would get her Rotom Phone to begin recording again as they finally had a lead moving forward. Just another video to bring back about things to explain the mess underneath the sewers...alongside maybe bringing pictures of the Pokemon eating up pipes down there as well anyways. That was a safety hazard, but very much secondary to the current situation at the moment as well!

Clarissa would turn to meet Nils' eyes as best as she could, and then would begin to dart forward as she called back to the boy. Yes. She had to keep her eyes on the goal ahead, which for now was their Pokemon rescue mission tunring into a potential human rescue mission! Or both, maybe? Er, it depended on what bizarre things came next as far as she could grap it all at the moment.

"That might be-...come on, Nils, let's hurry, but keep an eye out for more Steelix!"

Steelix feeding and tunneling made enough sense given the tunnels' size, then, and other Pokemon like the Roggenrola, Sandshrew, and so forth lived in these spaces as well given its nature. But none of them made cries like they had just heard, or had heard back in the sewers, in any case. 'Tuff'? Hopefully there wasn't an overly 'tuff' fight coming ahead, given the status of her Pokemon at the moment, but there was only one way to know for sure! And, in true fashion, her Rotom Phone zoomed along recording video alongside her with a smile on its face and not so much as a singular thought to anyone's safety (even its own).

Alyna Leshenaii

It was early in the morning, and the newborn warmth of the freshly risen sun was something that brought feeling back into her travel-wearied limbs as she walked along the road to Eon Tower. It was a time of day she'd always enjoyed, despite some late nights working on things, but today was also a rather particular day that the morale of morning-time was something the Fae woman felt she sorely needed. Especially given the little breakfast sitting on her stomach and the nature of her situation as it currently stood. Because the situation wasn't great, all things considered.

Sitting in carriages for the trip had been certianly something of a numbing experience, almost sleep-inducing given how early she'd gotten up to try to make it on time to the tower, but to then be told that her things were late getting to the carriage service as well? It was a time-wasting matter that seemed to be enough out of her own control, or even out of the service's control given how exasperated the attendant telling her the information seemed to be, and it had left her sitting about for hours trying to pass the time thinking or otherwise until she was told her things had finally arrived. Sure she could have teleported them to her without a second thought, but given how her latest project currently was just a bunch of tentative parts carried in a crate along with the rest of her mundane clothing and such she'd packed up she'd still have been forced to wait even if she had everything else with her in a snap.

The only regret was not paying for another carriage ride to the Tower, but given the situation she'd not planned on that nor in leaving so late to begin her walk there from the carriage station.

So after Alyna's things had arrived she'd swiftly taken out her complete puppets to carry her things, put the packaging protecting them into the crate with the other things, and set her grouping of mental partitions to operate the puppets as they finally hit the road. This, in turn, had led to her current situation....walking along the road with three puppets in tow next to or behind her.

Gwath was behind her, carrying the crate with her tools and the parts she'd brought along for working on her latest project while at Eon Tower. It was the most resilient and durable of the bunch, after all, compared to the others. Petto was walking to the right of Gwath, then, to keep guard while Elipiloea was walking to her right up at the front of the little 'pack' that was walking down the long road to Eon. It wasn't the longest of walks, she'd been on long walks before, but one thing stood out in her mind the most as well. One thing she'd hoped to avoid if it weren't for matters outside of her control.

Late. She was definitely going to be late.

...Perhaps it'd have been better to shell out the money and take the risk sending her things ahead of her, but...no, actually, perhaps not in hindsight. After the late delivery she didn't want to risk any more delays either, much less arriving without her things, as it'd seem even more ill-prepared and impolite than she was already being by arriving late. Ugh.

Yet having begun to see the towering building from afar, it had put some pep into her step where the humidity and morning heat were beginning to wear on her. By the time she got close enough to get a glimpse of the doors, however, the sight of no one else outside caused her to feel as if something inside of her to drop into the bottom off her stomach. Like a rock had settled in. Late, enough so that anyone else there was probably inside for all she knew. Unless she'd gotten the time to be there wrong already? Alyna didn't want to imagine things being 'that' bad, but it wasn't an impossibility either.

In any case, though, as she came up to the front doors the Fae woman and her puppet entourage would stop as she tentatively put her right hand up in front of the doors. Hesitating for a moment, and then taking a deep breathe, she did her best to put on a professional appearance and rapped on the door with her knuckles. Not that it was a guarantee anyone was 'right there' at the doors still, but...well, she had to own up to her lateness one way or another.

"Excuse me? Is anyone there?"

Please let someone be there. Please.

Was it a gamble? Yes. A huge one. And yet at the same time it was all she could think of on the fly to try to appease the giant of a Pokemon. In a way it was a rather cool Pokemon, but at the same time terrifying to face like...this. The psychic hadn't even noticed her Roggenreola pebble himself at the sight of what amounted to a major predator, and Scrapper was hiding for dear life at this point merely after seeing her and Pyrite's reactions. Had he seen the Steelix himself, perhaps the sentient garbage bag would have cried out in terror!

Indeed, much could happen and much would be decided in the new few moments as it seemingly took her offering and-

It looked at her and decided to commit this snack giver to memory.

This particular Steelix will remember you!

LIIIIIIIIIX! It roared with approval before it burrowed into another hole in the wall, leaving as quickly as it came.

The adrenaline wouldn't stop immediately, and as the energy of the initial situation began to rush out of her in the wake of not having to 'hold onto' it all anymore it was dizzying for a moment. Even as it coursed through her veins and blood vessels like nitro in a car, and her brain tried to think of a way to process it all, only one thing seemed to process in the heat of the moment. Her jaw softly dropped as well, and for a moment all was quiet until an almost alien sound erupted from her vocal chords in lieu of not finding any words to use.

"E-....E-....EEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHH-?!?!"

Her father's favorite stupid jerky brand had just saved her and her Pokemon's lives. More surprising was the fact that the Steelix seemed to....enjoy it?! It was baffling, it was stupid, it was all-around nonsensical and yet-....and yet it had happened all the same, right there before her very eyes. Even so, after clapping a free hand over her mouth to cut herself off in surprise at it all, Clarissa would sigh and finally crawl back out of where her and her Pokemon had been hiding before beginning to stretch her arms and legs somewhat.

Behind her, Scrapper would move up tentatively...of course before poking the still-standing Pyrite, seemingly snapping it out of whatever life had been flashing before his own little mind's eye there. Afterward, the Roggenrola would look back at the Trubbish silently, look back and forth for the Steelix, and then would seemingly sigh before walking over to the psychic with the Trubbish seemingly in tow behind him.

Perhaps it was good the fight-happy bunny wasn't with them due to his poisoning, otherwise he'd have potentially-

However, quickly enough a familiar little rodent rushed to her side. She would recognize the little Alolan Rattata, Rau, having followed her scent.

"Hmm?"

Didn't seem to be a wild one, but after a breif look closer at it the identity of it would become quickly clear. This was one "Rau The Rattata", as Nils had named him, who had...found her? Why had it come looking for her? Had Nils gotten her video and come to explore with her, or was he perhaps in trouble himself? She was still following the trail of the Pokemon they'd heard, though, and she couldn't just leave! But...if Nils was in trouble she couldn't just leave him either. Hmm.

But if he was looking for her, couldn't he just call her on the Rotom phone? The Professor had said these Pokemon-possessed devices would be able to work at quite a range and depth if she remembered right.

For the moment, at least, things seemed to be rather calm if naught else. Nothing like the Steelix was here anymore to menace them for a brief spell, though she could see the new tunnel it had made when it left, so perhaps it was a good moment for resting. Yes...they could use that after her little stretch, and what had just happened, indeed. Still, for his hard work finding her the psychic would try to give Rau the Rattata a gentle petting on its little head.

"If Nils is looking for me, can you lead him back here? I'd not wish for him or anyone else to get lost in these tunnels."

She was going to gamble with her guess for a the moment that Nils was looking for her for some reason. If this wasn't the case, she hoped the little Pokemon could give her some indication that the situation was different otherwise. Still, for the moment the psychic would choose a decently-sized boulder embedded near the side of the tunnel to sit on. Clarissa would then pull out her Rotom Phone and breifly begin to search for a 'danger appropriate setting' for it, if any existed, given the nature of what had just happened and the fact she was still coming down off of the high of the danger they'd just seemingly narrowly avoided there.

...Still, her father would eventually be getting both an earful for slipping in the jerky bag and get the story of a lifetime. Not that it would be a story he might appreciate given her standing in it, but rather the fact his favorite jerky seemed to be something of a snack that a wild Steelix had come to like of all things. Somehow. For some reason.

The Rotom Phone read this out loud, at full volume. Its robotic voice bounced off the cavern walls. They were not built with self-preservation in mind.

The Steelix was now facing Clarissa, its big red eyes were now honed in on her though it was not attacking her. It was just looking at her, waiting to see what she would do.

...One could hear a pin drop in the cavern tunnels with how quiet it became in lieu of the Steelix looking over at Clarissa. The psychic, Scrapper, and Pyrite all went utterly silent, Clarissa's mind debating a number of actions in a breif moment of indecision and situational paralysis. Er, not that it wasn't perhaps an understandable sense of situational paralysis given what was going on. Her mind was attempting to fathom just what was looking back at her, directly, and her thoughts raced in ways ranging from 'how to throttle a ghost pokemon possessing my phone' all the way to 'how to survive being swallowed whole by a Steelix'. So many potential things that could happen, so many words that could be said, and yet the reaction of her Pokemon would be telling in their own right.

"...Clack."

A gentle, very very quiet cry from the Roggenrola came out as a small rock would drop from underneath poor Pyrite's two little rock legs, however, as the poor Roggenrola stared back at what must have been death incarnate for its kind. Scrapper, for his part, couldnt' see what was going on...and frankly didn't want to take a look at it all either, especially given Pyrite and Clarissa's utterly stunned freezing in place being much more telling than not it seemed. But what would they do? How could they escape the terrible danger that was a titanic Steelix staring right down on them with eyes that saw through the muck and the darkness? How would they-

Clarissa would start to wave at the Steelix in a friendly manner with her right hand, and attempted to emit 'non-hostile, calming vibes' telepathically to boot.

...What. What?!

It was like going so far into an acute panic that one mentally blanked out, ending up in a moment of surreal clarity and calmness of mind that went even further beyond despite the seemingly illogical nature of it all. Which is to say, Clarissa was trying to make the best of the situation somehow. Meanwhile her left hand was reaching back into her things with one hand, scrambling for something as her brain tried to parse the potential danger, until the crinkle of some sort of plasic bag she wasn't familiar with could be felt. Her left hand would grasp the bag suddenly as a result, withdrawing the item in some hopes that it would be useful enough to-....to....oh for the love of-

"Colonel Jader's Juicy Jerky: 'Deluxe' Teriyaki Flavor"

Had her father slipped this into her things at some point? A bag of his favorite brand of Jerky? Sure it was the one flavor she'd said was 'kinda ok' to get him to stop trying to get her to try it, yeahg, but but she hated-...and he knew-...her mother also-....but...this...never mind. Never mind that she was discovering this during a proper life or death scenario, no, not even this shortly into her journey into Evig. But this? Well, it was worth a shot, right? Maybe it had so much salt to it that it'd come off as more mineral-y? Maybe?

She was, after all, a bit desperate right now. Whew. Breathe. Slowly. In and out. In and out. Imagine the sound of running, crystal clear waters around Agate Village from back during her training in Orre somewhat. Good.

Taking out the bag of jerky, and using the other hand not holding the bag to now gently push the poor little Pyrite (who frnakly didn't resist the action at all in lieu of things) behind her. She then, essnetially, offered the bag of jerky to the Steelix with her left hand...and then levitated it up in the air a little to offer it once she got the idea that her hand might be forefit otherwise. Likewise, she tried to adjust from the calming and non-hostile vibes telepathically to a likewise calm, non-hostile 'offer to talk' telepathically to the Steelix's mind in a gentle, approachable, friendly, non-hostile, non-prodding/non-aggressive, not-moving-too-fast telepathic manner as she could ever hope to muster within her levels of existing self-control.

Maybe all of this would help? Maybe? She hadn't the idea, but in the heat of the moment this was going to be her way of reacting to things as she and her two out-of-Pokeball Pokemon currently were trying to see if they needed to 'run like a Golbat outta hell' or not. Because while yes, Kapoc had warned her against powers use, this was both far from other people and....ah....a potential life or death scenario involving Pokemon. Yes. She was doing her best, darn it, to not die! But her Rotom Phone's lack of responses from the others was also worrying, even if it wasn't exactly anywhere near the top of her priorities list of 'things to think about or deal with' at the very moment for more-than-obvious reasons.

She could feel the vibrations of something big approaching as she picked up the captured Roggenrola, now dubbed "Pyrite", indeed, though it would admittedly get the psychic in a mild hurry to 'get away and hide'. Yet she would also grab the top of Scrapper as the duo began to book it back in the direction they'd come, even as his tiny panicked legs made as quick a run as they could for their lives, aiming on her part to find the nearest side tunnel or corner....somewhere they could hide out of sight behind a tunnel wall at least at the nearest convenience to avoid being seen by anything coming by. Even so, in her haste the psychic would breifly drop the newly captured Pokemon she still had in her hand, the ball opening and unleashing the once-vibing Roggenrola that was now inside of it.

"Click clack clock?"

He seemed a tad bit confused, perhaps understandably, as it made audible click clacking noises of its own as it seemingly spoke aloud at the sudden lack of punch bunnies and having been caught. At the same time, Clarissa would almost stumble over her feet as she turned to grab up the Pokeball and the little guy himself before darting forward once more in the direction she had been running. Where would they have a safe spot, though? Would anywhere be safe down-

"...Clack click click. Clack clock."

The Roggenrola turned its little body, crying aloud a bit more and pushing against her under-arm carrying in the direction as they neared a-....oh! It was a smaller side tunnel, one she might've not seen otherwise with her eyes in her panic, one that seemed to wrap around at a curve enough to hide maybe one person and a couple of small Pokemon. Maybe? Either way Clarissa would dart into the small side tunnel and squeeze herself and her two Pokemon in as best as she could.

...Poor little Scrapper was looking a fair bit scared, though was huddled to Clarissa's side as best as he could wedge himself, and Pyrite-

"Click clack."

Was whispering quietly for a second? It seemed so since he was being quieter than a few moments ago. He seemed to be vibing in front of the psychic, however, near the corner, keeping watch?! He'd just been caught for pity's sake, what in the mind of this little Roggenrola was-....was...oh. Right, none of them wanted to get eaten or so forth, perhaps, so that made sense. Even so, only Clarissa and the little Roggenrola would be in place to 'take a peek' if a safe chance to do so presented itself as the danger came by. That was a big 'if', however, as self-preservation was certainly not going to be any less than the first priority in this scenario for the trio.

Though as they waited in any case, the sense of deja-vu wasn't letting up even with the advent of new danger presenting itself. In fact, it somehow felt more like the opposite? Sure she felt some nostalgia and such at first, and yet...something about this place, these tunnels, the glow, all of it put her in some kind of odd feeling that something here was also familiar that she couldn't put a finger on. What was this place, and what in the world was going on here? She'd have checked her Rotom phone if it had alerted her before the approaching danger came, but there seemed to be nothing so far as far as she could tell on its end.

She just hoped that Amelia was doing well and that Nils was staying safe. But why were no messages getting back to her yet either? Perhaps the others were busy, that seemed fair enough, but hadn't the Professor said these Rotom Phones would work anywhere well enough? Hmm. She'd have to see once she got back to the sewers, and perhaps up to the surface once more, to boot.

But, for now, survival was important. Yes.
