The Solonis

Name of Ship: The Solonis
Home Universe/Name of Franchise: Sins of a Solar Empire
Ship Class: Kol Battleship
Role: A direct-action frontline battleship.
Physical Description/Image:
Physical Size (roughly): One kilometer in length
Armament/Complement (roughly):
4x Heavy beams.
Many autocannon hardpoints.
Many laser cannon hardpoints.
Many flak guns on the hull.
Heavy Gauss-Railgun.
Two squadrons of fighters.

History of the Ship:
The Solonis was a ship heavily involved in fighting against the Advent as well as the Vasari. Responsible for many kills on not only frigates and cruisers but credited with the elimination of a few enemy capital ships as well. The Solonis was frequently deployed in both a battlegroup as well as on it’s own in various duties.

Things almost went south for the Solonis whilst it was deployed on the border of TEC space. A battlegroup was due to come through, and Solonis was to link up with them to start a push into Vasari space, however the battlegroup didn’t arrive on time, with the Solonis being informed that it was going to be late. It was then that a Vasari Vorastra Titan appeared in the system, causing a panic on the lonely Solonis. Solonis’ shields came under heavy fire as the Vorastra micro-jumped behind it, and the Solonis’ crew triggered an early phase jump, wishing to bear the risk rather than die to the Vorastra. However, when they jumped, it didn’t end as early as it should have. Instead, it kept going, to the point where Solonis’ crew knew they were nowhere near where they were before.

Kasira's Leviathan

Name of Ship: Leviathan
Home Universe/Name of Franchise: Starcraft
Ship Class: Leviathan
Role: Assault Carrier
Physical Size (roughly): Approximately 6.7 kilometers in length.
Armament/Complement (roughly):

Force Compliment;

• Many tens of thousands of Zerg of varying strains (and the ability to produce more rapidly through internal hatcheries), and Zerg that are deployed are able to establish their own hatcheries to further increase this number outside of the Leviathan.
• Numerous space-capable Zerg strains such as Mutalisks and Broodlords, as well as Scourge.

Leviathan capabilities;

• Many drop pods, able to drop zerg on any planetary surface or the exterior of ships and stations (subject to point defense).
• Bio-Plasmid Discharges, the Leviathan firing plasma-like bile at it’s target.
• Tentacles, which can be both used to attack as well as act as boarding tubes.

History of the Ship: Kasira’s personal Leviathan was one of several in Kasira’s Brood, and had a healthy life within the Swarm. Kasira’s Brood was responsible for many attacks on the Terran front, conquering an array of planets under the rule of the Queen of Blades, and then again when she was reborn. Both Kasira and her brood survived until the rise of the Overqueen Zagara, of which they followed the directives of just as they had the previous leader of the Swarm.

Broodmother Kasira assisted in taking over worlds in close proximity to Char. There was a ceasefire, but that didn’t stop Kasira from rooting out those who had taken up refuge in those worlds if they refused to leave, as she was under the direction of the Overqueen. Kasira only ordered her Brood on the attack if whoever she was against tried to engage them; otherwise, Kasira’s Brood forced them to leave by destroying supplies and structures until they evacuated.

There was one planet that broke the string of successes. A protoss planet with a research base on it with phase-smiths working away on projects. Attacks were ordered by Kasira to destroy the base in order to force the Protoss out, but she got more than she bargained for. A weapon that Kasira did not recognise was deployed, a titanic device that was certainly going to pose a problem for the invasion of the planet. Kasira ordered her Brood to destroy it, and it fired.

The weapon opened up like a flower might with petals and formed a warp rift, pulling in Kasira’s Leviathan slowly, most likely to its doom. Just as the Leviathan entered, Kasira’s Brood managed to destroy the weapon. It was either the fact that the weapon was a first prototype, the disruption caused in its effect as it was destroyed, or both that caused Kasira’s Leviathan to be spun through warp space for days. Kasira believed she might be dead, and that was what being dead was like, until the Leviathan was forcefully shoved out of warp space… Somewhere.

Notable Crew: Broodmother Kasira

Unique Technology: Broodmother Kasira’s Leviathan sports an Evolution Chamber like many other Leviathans. This allows Kasira to instruct and modify her Brood to evolve into different forms with different advantages, if she has the biomass and essence to do so. The Leviathan also has internal hatcheries, allowing it to produce more Zerg.

Crew Size: The Leviathan technically does not need any crew, as it is it’s own, living being. However, in reality, it requires a Broodmother to control it, else it will be feral. As such, it only requires one control-capable Zerg as it’s “crew”, and even then, the “crew” does not need to be on board to communicate and control it.

Faction/Operator/Owner: The Leviathan is controlled by Broodmother Kasira, who is a Broodmother of the Zerg Swarm.

@Sophrus, she might be that powerful being a Broodmother, but more than most likely not. She has, however, lived a long time as a Broodmother, since the first iteration of the Queen of Blades, so her psionic strength is quite strong and well practised. But communication with a Ghost is definitely possible (and possible pain, as Broodmother Niadra was able to cause pain to a psionically sensitive Terran) , so she should be able to communicate with a Ghost, and tell one to tell the Captain to give Broodmother Kasira a transmitter.

@Sophrus, the Zerg, at least, higher minds than the simpletons at the bottom, are capable of Telepathy. It's one of the main ways that they communicate among themselves, as well as one of the ways that they can communicate to Terrans and other races. If it's to be believed, if enough will is put into it, this can translate into audio/video transmissions (such as how Kerrigan communicated with the Hyperion). Probably will be easier to psychically communicate with the Ghosts aboard your ship, too.

@Sophrus, Indeed, that might make them hesitant. And I agree on the opening of communications; in fact, opening communications was top of my list as to creating a... Ceasefire between the Zerg present and you puny Terrans. I doubt they would expect the Zerg to attempt to open comms.

@Sophrus, if I make my Leviathan come from the post-LotV era, there is a current ceasefire between the Swarm, the Daelaam and the Dominion, so it's unlikely that Broodmother Kasira (the Broodmother that is going to become stranded) would commit her forces to attack the Hammer of Korhol. Also, considering this is inter-universal, I don't think that the Overqueen is going to be able to psychically communicate to Kasira's Brood at such a range (or even interdimensionally as it is).

I've decided I'll take advantage of this, so I can at least make the Zerg be at least a little bit interested in cooperation. So post-LotV for my leviathan, then. And to confuse the silly Terrans.
