Current Smarty Jones... Just... Consider removing the 'Smarty' part of your name if you're going to try and kick up a side-argument here, there's no reason for that. Otherwise, let's just move on.

People don't tend to think about rules when in disputes. Instead, just point out that whoever stops arguing first gets to see the other make a fool of themselves if they going after it all stopped.

The best part about being on the Guild this long is that nowadays, I can sit back and chuckle as the newcomers try to start a fight an instead get all the old hands ganging up on them. Popcorn for me.

Got my first covid vaccination today. I was terrified, but the staff there were very well trained and things went well.

Every few minutes playing Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, I tear up from the memories. It's not often you get a game that truly pulls at the same heartstrings as your childhood playthrough's once did.

As for ranks, Spartans use "Navy" ranks.

You probably want to put that in the first OOC post and make that official to clarify things up and have people fix their ranks if that's how you're doing things. If we're sticking to them having Navy ranks, then we want to have everyone have a navy rank. Having some as "Spartan", some as "Lieutenant" and "Commander" and others as the Spartan Equivalent to ranks is a bit shaky.

For example, some people have put their ranks as "Spartan", which is equivalent to a First Lieutenant (O-2) in the Marines (and other branches) and a Lieutenant Junior Grade in the navy, however you have me having the rank of Lieutenant (which is an unequivalent rank to the Spartan branch, as an O-3), and yourself having the rank of Commander (O-5), which is not a rank within the Spartan corps but instead is a position. The position of 'Spartan Commander' is equivalent to a navy Captain (O-6), which is the equivalent of a Colonel in the marines.

So yeah, as you can see, a bit of a mixmatch. You probably want to clarify if you want us all using navy ranks (and have those using 'Spartan' as a rank change it to an actual rank) or use Spartan Role-Positions.
Broodmother Kasira

The Broodmother listened carefully until the meeting had come to an end. The information that she was given would definitely come in useful, if she survives the oncoming days. Two pieces of information highlighted themselves above all else, however. The first was that she could definitely not trust anyone here. The Terrans from her universe had solidified the fact that there was going to be very little working-together with anyone by breaking any trust she had been granted. If he had not stated what the Zerg did during the war, Kasira could have spoken trust into the others. But now, she was just a six legged monstrosity to them. She wasn't sure if she expected to be shot in the back at any instant, however she still wasn't sure she could trust anyone's true intentions. She knew that most of them wanted to get rid of this Empire, but she didn't know their own agendas, their private goals.

The second important piece of information was navigational data. At least now she knew where she could go, and she was given some potential options by the Supreme Commander. Broodmother Kasira found it hard to pick which one she could go to, and so settled her thoughts; there was plenty of time to choose a destination. "I thank you for your hospitality. I will be in contact," the Broodmother says to the remains of the meeting, before turning to walk out of the room - two Zerglings in front, and two behind, all of which glared at whoever was near. Kasira felt immediate relief at leaving the room, but knew that her true relief would come when she arrives back at the Leviathan.

The Overlord and it's protection were all still waiting for her when the Broodmother arrived in the hangar. None even took a glance at her, they were all intent on protecting the transport, as per her will. Only did they climb inside once Kasira was in, and together they exited the hangar, making their way back to the Leviathan.
Wah! I'm a completely stupid person and forgot to move her into there!

Me me me me memememememe!
Broodmother Kasira was, to say the least, not happy with the Terrans' accusations toward her. Of course, they were true, but that wasn't the main matter for her. The main problem was the fact that the Terran Dominion and the Zerg Swarm were at a ceasefire - the General's words were easily those that could respark hostilities, and Kasira wanted to follow through with this. Even her Zerglings were starting to growl and flex their limbs a little once the General punched the table. Their wants to attack the Terrans and defend their Broodmother were well placed to Kasira, as she too wanted to tear the Terrans to shreds. It took a lot to hold herself back. Even the Zerg in the hangar were getting excited.

"So, you wish to turn them against me, is that it?" Broodmother Kasira hissed at the General. "You wish to bring up old hostilities, to respark the war, do you? You wish to destroy the ceasefire that our leaders worked so hard to grant? What happened was war, your side lost billions just as my side has too lost many of it's own." She paused, her eyes transfixed on the General. "I too share old hostilities, and though I do not fear what you can do as I know my own position is currently stronger, I wish to destroy you as much as you wish to undermine my position, to tell the meeting of how bad of a creature that I am. But at the very least, I do not speak that desire, and I do not speak of the atrocities that you have committed against my 'people' in an attempt to make you look like the monster in this room. The people in this room do not know us from where we come from. Perhaps at our own home, you are the bad person, and I am the good person. But to point your tendrils in my direction immediately and make sure everyone knows I am the bad one? It's unfair when you have your own sins."

She moved her head, looking amongst everyone in the room, to address them next. "I will admit, my concern is not with this 'Empire'. My immediate concern is my survival within this room, within this system. Particularly when I am being civil, and not attacking like the mindless beast that I am being made out to be. I do not like feeling like I am going to be shot in the back."

Broodmother Kasira watched with interest as various different species and factions entered the briefing room. She could even feel the curiosity of the Zerglings within her, though their thoughts were more in regards as to how tough the new beings and their various armours were rather than delving into the mindsets of the newcomers. For the sake of her own safety and the diplomacy, Kasira did not use her psionics to peer into their minds, but still kept herself aware of who had such a potential in the vicinity. The Zerg's psionic link was strong, barely recognisable and controllable by the Terrans or Protoss, but she still had knowledge of an extremely rare few that had managed control of at least a few Zerglings.

It was the variation of the species that intrigued the Broodmother. She watched from multiple perspectives as each one arrived; through the Leviathan, through the Zerg in the hangar, and through her own eyes in the briefing room as they arrived, and they each had their own style, in movements as well as equipment. The strange, tentacle-legged beings as well as one of the Terran-types didn't even bring their own craft - Broodmother Kasira wondered if that was due to a lack of such craft, or to hide such designs. She knew her Terrans liked to hide and be awkward about their technology. They, at least, seemed to be acting as expected in their operations.

The Broodmother shifted her focus to those that were in front of her now, the leadership of the factions. There were few that truly struck her attention right there and then, but one of the main ones was Supreme Commander Jason Erthos himself. When it came to Terrans from her homeplace, Terrans did not always warrant the ranks that they were given. Generals could use horrible strategy whereas Captains could be well-skilled in tactics. It was a mixed bag when it came to dealing with them, and so Broodmother Kasira did not always know if a rank meant they were going to be a worthy combatant or a walking pile of biomass. The fact that this Supreme Commander was willing to let a lot of unknown species (as well as their combat troops as guards) onto his ship showed a lot of courage from the man, and the intelligence to know that he needed to make allies or else they would be fighting for who knows how long, and who knew who would survive?

The Broodmother's head turned to each person as they spoke in turn, however one of the Humans, a woman who stated that they all were required to make their way back to their own universes before being interrupted, caught Kasira's attention. She was a psionic, Kasira could sense that, but the problem was that she felt less psionic than she had felt before. It made her curious as to what the woman could be trying to hide. With mental delicacy, Kasira slowly reached out psionically, almost as if trying to sniff out how much of a psionic potential that the woman had, before letting herself psionically back off. There was not much to be worried about. As the Broodmother turned her head to more interesting elements of the meeting, two of the four Zerglings turned their heads to watch the woman's group a little more, to pay it just that bit more attention. At least one of the Zerglings had it's eyes on the woman, never less. But Kasira still had many worries, and not just with this woman.

"The anti-Alien worry extends mainly toward the Zerg Swarm and my other non-Terran friends," Broodmother Kasira finally contributed. "I feel as if this system is not a safeguard from those worries, however. I know where most of you wanted to point your weapons when we first entered the system, and some of you did, even as others arrived. I know where most of your thoughts strayed, and where hostilities or suspicion may lay. Yes, I, Broodmother Kasira, am Zerg, and I stand on six legs as others may stand on two. My vessel is one of being, not metal. But I wish to survive as much as all of you, as well as retreat back to my own lands and my own brood. I ask, quite reasonably, that you treat me as you would treat others."

She paused, turning toward the individual who had claimed they had sent data to everyone. "Indeed, physical data will be appreciated. Please provide it in any manner that you find suitable." With that, the Broodmother settled down to listen to the rest of the meeting, awaiting something else to catch her attention. The Zerglings remained on watch, with the two in particular still watching the group with the psionic woman.

Kasira was surprised at what she was shown by the communicator. The unknowns appeared to be, or at least looked like, Terrans. She wondered if she was just being duped, tricked by the Terrans. The Broodmother was then made aware of someone that she easily recognised; a Terran from her end of the galaxy, apparently as braindead as the other ships as to their current situation. The Leviathan itself quickly noticed the Terran battlecruiser, feeding it's vision to Kasira. An old calling demanded that she destroy the battlecruiser and all those on board, but she knew that the Zerg were in a ceasefire with Terrans. Kasira did not want to, or rather, could not displease the Overqueen by breaking that ceasefire. It troubled her that the Terran ship was broadcasting a request for aid in destroying her, which she could pick up with her new communications device.

It did not just trouble Kasira due to the fact it would break the ceasefire. It also amused her that the broadcasting Terran was willing to try and throw his life away. So far, Kasira had not engaged anyone - if the Terran ship opened fire on her, then it would be seen as the aggressor. She wouldn't even need the help of the other unknown ships to destroy one, measly battlecruiser. She might even take the effort to capture it entirely instead of destroying it to add to her ranks.

She could very well have attempted to contact the battlecruiser, to disclose her intentions. However, a better plan formed in her head, one that she felt more likely to work. She prided herself in her intelligence over the lower strains of Zerg for a few moments, before putting her plan into action; she moved the Leviathan directly toward the Supreme Commander's ship. To signal that she did not have any bad intent in the movements of her Brood, she signalled all of the Zerg around the Leviathan to fall in and get inside the Leviathan; recalling and docking her fighters, so to speak. Kasira directed her Leviathan to get a safe distance yet close to the Supreme Commander's ship, before making her way through the Leviathan's body.

Kasira had felt them a while ago, the Terran Ghosts. Their psionic signatures were obvious, like a light in a dark tunnel. Only now did she reach out to them, to send a message through secretive telepathic communications;
"We are at a ceasefire, Terrans. Engage me now, and you will not have broken the ceasefire with the Swarm, but with these other ships as well. You will be the aggressor, not I."
And with that, Kasira cut her mind off from the Ghosts, at least for now. She had arrived where she wanted to be; at an Overlord. She made her way inside of the creature, and then let the creature remain where it was for a minute. In that time, a group of ten Zerglings and a Ravager joined her inside the Overlord. Finally, the Overlord took off, floating it's way out of the Leviathan.

As soon as the Overlord left the Leviathan, a group of twelve Mutalisks took flight, joining the Overlord in it's flight over to the Supreme Commander's ship. Broodmother Kasira knew that this ride was where she was most vulnerable, and made sure to make the ride over as fast as possible. As soon as the Overlord slipped into the hangar, the Mutalisks turned to make their way back to the Leviathan. The Overlord touched down inside of the hangar, and the Zerglings ran out first, making sure it wasn't an ambush, followed by the Ravager. They then sat around the Overlord, and finally the Broodmother made her way out.

Kasira could almost feel the uneasiness from the two troopers that approached her, especially as the Zerglings stared them down. One glanced at the other, and then finally, they spoke their purpose;
"Greetings... Ma'am. We're to escort you to the briefing room," one said.

Kasira was a little concerned that she might not be able to fit in their passageways, taking a glance over at a hatch but they looked large enough. Her gaze went back to the troopers.
"Very well, lead on," Karisa says, her voice more-so emanating from where her mouth would be rather than actually coming from an orifice.
The troopers glanced at eachother again, before starting to lead her to the briefing room. Four Zerglings followed close behind the Broodmother, and the rest of the Zerglings and the Ravager stayed with the Overlord.

Arriving at the briefing room, Kasira and her Zerglings settled themselves down and waited. For what, Kasira did not know. She wasn't sure what to expect.

Broodmother Kasira winced as she recieved a communication from the unknown species. Kasira was pleased with the fact that her attempt at communications granted a response from the unknowns - but the bliss of fortune was only temporary. Whoever she was communicating with, quite reasonably, offered a counter threat - if she were to threaten them again, they may engage. The creature that had communicated to her even had the gall to force the psionic communication enough that it had made her wince. She was tempted, very tempted indeed, to show the creature who it was dealing with, to launch psionic attacks that would cause great pain to the creature. She held back, however. She knew personalities were diverse within the Terrans and Protoss, and so it could be so within this new species as well. She could have just been dealing with a rude and moronic member of the species.

The Leviathan was fast to detect the device that had been launched toward them, and fed that information straight to the Broodmother. By the Broodmother's will, the Leviathan and it's escorting swarm of fliers moved toward the device that the ship had launched (and thus getting closer to the ship in the process). Slowly yet smoothly, the Leviathan raised one of it's long tentacles up. The tentacle extended out of the Leviathan's body, the tip opening up enough for the communication device to be swallowed within it. At the end of that tentacle, a Zergling retrieved the device, and started a long scurry to the observation area of the Leviathan, where Kasira had made her way to.

Broodmother Kasira was grateful when the Zergling finally arrived, despite having been able to observe it's progress the entire time and know when it would be arriving. By then, Kasira had a small, fleshy 'pedestal' for the communicator to sit atop. Once the communicator was set down, the flesh of the pedistal almost completely absorbed the thing, leaving just the top open, so that the projections of the device would not be blocked. It took a few minutes, but the functions of the simple device were quickly made available to her. Experimentally, the Broodmother used the communicator, attempting to make contact with the ship that had given it to her. If the communications attempt was accepted, a holoprojection of herself would be displayed. She would stay quiet, however, waiting to be spoken to first to confirm that the communicator was working as intended.
