Thanks to the others drawing the attention of the engineer and Bastion Bowser managed to survive his foolish play without taking any real damage. The sentry’s AI was built for firing highly accurate streams of bullets and missiles at man sized targets and thus the king was able to safely block all its fire with his roughly human sized shield, the dumb machine incapable of attempting to outwit this stationary blockade. That said, the shield seems to be slowly cracking as it took fire, lines of damage growing and multiplying across the translucent barrier at an alarming rate. It was somewhat concerning then that, other than Blazermate, most of the others behind him did not make good time in joining the fight. Nevertheless, those that were engaged still in total outnumbered their target and their unintentional pincer move seemed to be going well. Blazermate got over to the injured Tora in good time, Minako seemed to do something that summoned a great sword wielding spirit that shrugged of fire with remarkable ease, his own minions where bombarding their foes and even a Galeel controlled had Rabbid joined the fight, one sporting the costume of Mario’s green brother, who managed to cast a weakening spell before he was blown away.

Still, despite their efforts his defences were being worn down, so it was much to his relief when the fire of the sentry suddenly ceased firing and swung away from him at the command of the engineer’s control gizzmo. As soon as he was free bowser flicked his hand to the side, buckler switching to claw configuration, ready to slice and dice while the king bore his teeth at the gate gradient. Before he get stuck in however the engineers plan became clearer as a quad of rockets sailed to his left and detonated against a precariously stacked pile of junk. This junk pile them started to collapse. Which was bad.

“OH NO” bowser said flatly and then, catching themselves simply staring at the imminently arriving doom forced himself into action “RUN AWAY!” he yelled at his minions before Grabbing the master of masters in one claw and feeling from the debris shower.

Said minions reacted as best they could. Sledge, while slow, had the advantage of being the furthest back from the engineer and thus to get away from the collapse all he had to do was lumbar back in the direction they had arrived from to escape, winding up next to Blazermate’s abandoned minigun in the process. His brother and Heel where less fortunate. Having been tossed both to the leftof Bowser and closer to the engineer they were the worst off of all when it came to the avalanche of junk and the two were sent running for their lives, the rabbid screaming his head off the whole way. The pair ran as fast as they could, repeatedly getting in each other’s way and occasionally shoving each other aside to gain ground in a manner that would had been comical had their lives not been in danger. Adding to the chaos the two had to avoid parts of scrap that where detaching from the main mass of the tower and pelting down at them, heralding the main body’s imminent arrival. A bulky cart slammed down in front of the pair, blocking forward progress. They both tried to race to either side only for those ways to be blocked as well, then so to was their rear. Trapped, the two could do little else other than cling together as a van, missing one of its doors, crashed down on top of them, silencing their screams.

A few moments after the avalanche had subsided a faint hissing could be heard, like someone having to take a few tries to turn on a light, and then a spot on the side of the van suddenly lit up bright orange. This orange spot swiftly carved a crude image of a rabbids face before the entire lump of metal was bashed free of the vehicle by a hammer. Heel popped out of the escape hole and raised his hands up in the air, one of which held the Slice Cutter, laughing in victory. The rabbid was then plucked from the van by a newly arrived Sledge. who had brought the minigun with him. Mallet then poked his head out and was given a more dignified hand out of the wreck by his bro. The smaller Hammer bro dusted himself off while Heel performed a little victory lap of the van, then he grabbed the rabid by his bouncing emergency light on a stick.

“Alright enough of that. Let's get back in the fight.”

The rabbid became rather dejected at the prospect, but nonetheless followed the bros as they picked their way through the wreckage towards the castle’s entryway.

Bowser meanwhile had made it clear fairly safely, his energy shield and shell blocking and loose debris and had ended up right next to (and almost in) the moat. He let down the Master of Masters and then shook his spiked shell free of impaled junk. He turned to engage the engineer, who was in the middle of being overwhelmed by latea riving melee attackers, but his focus was instead drawn to one of the castles windows, out of which the long absentee Geno suddenly smashed, carrying with him an unconscious “MARIO!”

The king roared the name of his worst enemy. Here was his nemesis, his foil, the greatest hero that ever who was at that very moment... unconscious? Had Geno, the nobody puppet, done that which Bowser had so many times failed to do. Had he defeated the mighty plumber? The king’s mind refused this possibility outright and yet the scene still left him stunned.
Well Ima day this - if anyone sees a big explosion coming from the roof of the castle, don’t hesitate to notice ya boi Geno finishing the job that Bowser couldn’t lol

"Mario isn't himself right now, so it doesn't count!" Bowser politely retorts as he is crushed beneath a mountain of falling scrap-metal.

Azura left Parvus behind, feeling uncomfortable. Partially because of the conversation itself, partially because she was not liking the fact that she felt thankful that the catastrophe that had given her an excuse to flee. As she flew into the night towards the point on Galbar directly beneath the explosion site the divine bird had to dodge the occasional piece of debris, 300 degree vision and sensitivity to the wind produced by their fall giving her just enough warning to avoid anything that might have hurt her. Sure, she could have just waited for this all to land, but that would mean risking any leads she found up there going cold. It would have also meant spending more time with Parvus and she really did not want to do that right now. Or possibly ever. Maybe one day she could have an interaction with a god that did not end with an explosion Azura mused as she dodged a particularly large chunk hurtling towards a newly discovered continent below.

She had skimmed by the northern tip of it on her travels and though she did wish to investigate it she’d be leaving that, and the introduction of her Gemstone Gardeners to its stone soars, till later. As it was she eventually successfully navigated the last vestiges of the crystal shower and arrived below the The Lustrous Garden, its distant remains hanging far above the atmosphere of Galbar. Now the only question was how she was going to reach it. A few failed attempts at simply pointing herself in the right direction and flapping really hard proved that no. She was not going to be able to just fly there.

After a bit of contemplation done while lazily shadowing the comet as it slowly drifted across the sky she decided that what she lacked was momentum and so she decided to compensate for this with a big run up and giving herself a bit of an extra push. What this decision resulted in was the creation of what was effectively a wind based railgun. She descended to just above the waves, then created two columns of rapidly cycling disk of air just above and to either side of her that reached all the way to the upper atmosphere. Once her creation was up to speed she took a deep breath, steeled herself and with a mighty flap entered the acceleration wind chamber. She began flapping, syncing each flap up so that it entered one of the spinning disks of air so that it gave her an extra burst of speed, destroying the disk in the process as she stole its energy. She raced through Galbar’s atmosphere, hurtling skywards at a recklessly high speed until suddenly she wasn't, and she was instead soaring through the heavens towards the remains of the second sun. About halfway through this flight she realized she did not have a plan as to how to stop. Because she was slowing down as she went higher she had about 4 times as long to think about this problem as she had had spent in blissful ignorance flying through vacuum. By the time she popped into Asceal’s sphere and Galbar’s gravity stopped having a slowing effect on her she had a plan. That plan involved screaming very loudly as she entered the debris field, emptying her cavernous lungs in a bid to halt her momentum with her breath. This almost worked up until the point that she plowed head first into a massive shard of crystal and everything went dark.

She awoke a few moments later with a splitting headache and surrounded by a small number of her own feathers drifting in the void. She did not pay them much mind however because the rest of the Sphere was truly a sight to behold. Millions upon millions of shards of glowing crystal floated freely in the sphere, free of Galbar’s gravity. Some were the size of splinters, others the size of homes and a few where the size of cites. Mesmerized, Azura set out to explore this strange disaster site. Most of it was the same crystal, thousands upon thousands of metric tons of it, and the bird god primarily navigated the maze of light by jumping from one large glowing rock to the other, using the air she had brought with her in her lungs to to course correct as she forced it to blow alongside her. The other interesting thing in here were bits of a once immense lens. The largest parts of it where the size of mountains that distorted the light from the crystal in strange ways, creating beams of light that slowly patrolled the sphere. Of the sphere’s mistress there was no sign. There where other souls to be found however, ones that zipped through the sphere towards some unknown destination. When she followed one it lead her to the very top of the sphere where she got her first sight of the sky pyres. Unlike Asceal she had no way of knowing what they were jsut by looking at them, but with the way they drew the dead she rightly suspected it was some kind of afterlife. She hoped the god of the dead was kind, but the infernal flames did not fill her with much confidence.

Having found more questions than she had answers the goddess prepared to return back to Galbar so that she could instead investigate the sphere containing the still function sun. She had said to Parvus that she believed she lacked foresight because she had spent to much time near the ground so perhaps the god who had spent their time in the sky would know more about what was going on and could rid Azura of the sensation dread that gripped her. One caused by being blind to events that could so easily overtake her. Destination set she made her way back through the remains of the Lustrous garden, grabbing a Azura sized lens as she went. She had seen what happened to things entering Galbar’s atmosphere too fast, and she did not want to join them in their toasted fate.

Azura fell and she fell fast, the lens having been maneuvered into leading the way as they plunged towards the atmosphere. An observer on Galbar would see them approach closer and closer at frightening speed until the sky was suddenly turned from black to blue in a small spot, one that rapidly grew as the atmosphere and Azura both came ever closer to one another. Then they touched and both Blue and Bird vanished.

Fire and heat wracked the lens as the goddess hid behind it, her talons feeling as though they were aflame where they penetrated the lense despite them being shielded from the worst of it. Around them, Galbar and the night sky had been replaced with the endless Blue, Azura’s glowing father's day aura having unintentionally allowed her to enter it from above like anyone who had struck the atmosphere of the day side of Galbar would do. Gradually the pair slowed as the lens bore the brunt of their atmospheric reentry. Once the fire had died down Azura dared open her wings slightly and, using them and the power of the wind, she halted their decent well before they reached the bottom of the Blue. Azura was home and it looked a bit different from how it had. Some of her floating temples were overgrown with dead or dying plant life while the air was blemished by strange phantom rivers. It was a mess but Azura did not mind much. Being back in her own domain put her at ease however and so she found these invasions more interesting than concerning. First things first however she stashed the lens fragment in one of her temples and then she set off towards the other side of Galbar via her Sphere, still seeking answers, but now happy to give over some time to investigating the various interesting oddities that had erupted since she had left along the way.

The rivers seemed to faze in and out of existence as she went and she discovered that she could not interact with these rivers particularly well either. Submerging herself in one did give her the sensation of being wet, but she could not drink the water and she emerged from it covered in nothing but a light dew. The plants meanwhile seemed to burst into bloom seemingly at random, and any structure brought to the same area would also soon be covered with life while the phenomenon lasted, but it too like the rivers would deacy in time and the plants would be left to die of dehydration. Some were lucky enough to drift through a phantom river at regular intervals but this was rare and so the main living plant life of the Blue ended up being cacti and other drought resistant plants that could also cling to their stony perches without fear of falling as they rolled through the sky. The Architect given knowledge of gods and spheres allowed her to make a relatively accurate guess as to what was going on: Shengshi and Phystene’s spheres where interacting with hers somehow and bleeding their dominions into the Blue, creating rivers and plants were previously none where to be found. She wondered how things were on the other side and if there were any other interactions that she was missing.

Azura decided to flex here creativity a bit to make use of these new phenomenon. She let her voice sing out a single clear note that pulsed through the nearby area of the Blue. Where it hit the waters of the Fengshui Fuyou it formed spectral fish like creatures with translucent flesh and glowing lights strung along their bodies that Azura named Phase Motes. Where it hit the plants from the world tree the leaves came alive and took to the air as small manta-ray like creatures called Loft Leaves, while the trunks and stems formed the first Grazer Drakes, long slimy creatures with royal blue flesh and tiny red horns which flew on several sets of frond like fins. The Phase Motes would be able to drink the rivers directly, taking nutrients and water from the nearby sphere. The Loft Leaves would sample the dew and drink the light of the blue. Finally the Grazer Drakes would munch on the dead plants, keeping the temples clean of dead material. She collectively dubbed these hand sized creatures Sky Slugs. As soon as they were made these simple creatures set about the business of existing and making the sky even weirder looking. Soon after their creation flocks of Phase Motes and Loft Leaves could be seen from the surface of Galbar, soaring from one phantom river to the next.

Satisfied with her bout of creativity she next decided to get a better view of Galbar and her sphere’s bizarre geometry, splaying the whole world out below her like a map, made this very easy. She could see the Eye and its gradually spreading greenery, various small mountains and islands that looked modified enough to maybe be gateways and the new continent she had seen a bit of earlier that seems to have been thrown into existence. It had large flat plains at one end, tall mountains at the other and a few interesting features that could be seen even from up here like a massive crevasse, some kind of shallow lake and...

”Oh gross. Is that blood? I hope that’s not blood.”

And a river of blood. She hoped she was either wrong or it was Kirron’s doing, because any other possibility did not bode well.

Eventually her circumnavigation of the globe brought her below the sun, at which point she dropped down, far more gently this time, and popped out of the bottom of her sphere into Galbar’s atmosphere. From there she dived down low and commenced a second wind launch. This time as she breached the atmosphere she brought some of it with her, wrapping it around herself so she could use it to guide her flight as she flew too close to the sun.

also if anyone wants to do some team jumping while we are still in the kingdom battle zone then Sledge then feel free to use sledge to get some mad ups
BEHOLD THE EXP POWER OF TALKING TO YOURSELF A LOT!

cough.

anyway.

level up time. fairly straight forward this time to compensate for next levels team attack nonsense.

Goodness gracious great balls of fire: An upgrade to firebreath that lets bowser shoot fireballs at distant foes. These flaming spitballs are fairly large and can travel pretty far but have much lower aoe than the short range firebreath and are quite dodge-able by those who are quick on their feet.

During the walk to the zone boss

It seemed that whatever luck dictated the results of item crushing was most certainly not on Mallet’s side. Not that he was complaining as he enjoyed the familiarity of the Necro Smasher. He tossed the wooden mallet up and down a few times to get a feel for the weight of it before storing it where his regular hammer based armaments lived. He’d been gotten a bit of an idea of their teams makeup in quite a short amount of time with just a few questions to his king and felt sure that he would find a use for it in using it to heal their robo healer with a good throw if she ever found herself in trouble. The Slice Cutter was not something he could really find a use for immediately, but as a tool it was still in the ballpark of the bro’s style so this too was stored. The sidearm however was just puny compared to hammers, in his bias opinion at least.

“Anyone wanna trade for or have this” he asked waving the pistol around, holding it by the barrel and offering in the handle to anyone who might want it (@Archmage MCthe pistol might be useful to Blazermate based on your comments on the items you got. Lightweight, one handed and easy to put away/take out.)

Bowser meanwhile got exactly what he asked for as the Rabbid soul solidified into a Striker. The bunny stood at attention and saluted to its new boss, it’s little emergency light bouncing mischievously behind it when it did so.

“GAH HA. GOOD. WHAT’S YOUR NAME?”

The response he got was a “Bwah ha!” which sounded tonally like it was a “(name) Sir!” But obviously lacked any meaning.

“AH. YOU DON’T TALK. FINE THEN I’LL CALL YOU… HEAL” the rabbit nodded sharply and mentally adjusted this name to Heel. “YOUR GOING TO WORK WITH THESE TWO TO PROTECT KIRBY. GOT IT?” Heel nodded crisply in response. “GOOD. BOYS” he turned to the two Hammer Bros and let Heel down off of his claw and down onto the ground. “MEET YOUR SUPPORT. KEEP HIM ALIVE AND HE’LL KEEP YOU ALIVE”

“yes sir” they answered, Mallet saluting while the encumbered Sledge merely nodded. Satisfied the king turned round and continued his march towards the mini boss.

As soon as Bowser had turned around the Rabbid rolled its eyes and immediately dropped all pretense of discipline, its military stance replaced with a casual slouch. It sauntered over to Mallet and Sledge while casually tossing an un-primed grenade up and down and leering at them. Suffice to say Mallet wasn't impressed. “Oh no you dont. Just because the boss ain't watching doesn't mean you get to slack off. Your gonna guard Kirby with us as ordered and don't you dare mess this up”

In response the rabbit simply cocked its head to one side, eyes starting up and away from Mallet to show its disdain, before this disrespectful expression was replaced briefly with one of confusion. He could not see this Kirby person, so he made theatrical show of looking for him, hand placed above his eyes as he looked to and fro. “He’s right here dummy.” Mallet responded to this, thumbing the hat before his attention snapped to it. The hat was empty. “What?” he asked as Heel came over and the two of them peered into the now empty hat. Heel promptly pick-pocketed the Slice Cutter off of the bro while they were next to each other just because he could. “He gone back to that cowboy” Sledge explained much to late after they had all got a good look in the empty hat. Mallet looked over to the slowpokes of the group which Kirby had indeed just joined while Heel fell into the hat after having peered to deeply into it, the Rabbid emitting a brief bwah of panic. Moments later a bout of laughter emerging from the hat after which he poked his head out and prepared to enjoy the ride.

Mallet quickly ran up to Bowser who was still forging on ahead. “Uh boss? Kirby just up and left”

“WHAT?! GAHHH.” the king turned back to them and was briefly panicked before he spotted the pink puff ball up and on his feet. He raised his arms in frustration at his cunning plan being a waste.
“BAH WHAT A WASTE”
He got over it relatively quickly though, snatching up his hat, pulling the Rabbid out of it and then plopping the headpiece back on his head. “ALRIGHT BOYS, LOOKS LIKE YOU AREN'T STUCK ON BABYSITTING DUTY ANY MORE. YOU GET TO SEE SOME ACTION INSTEAD”

The koopa’s where happy to hear this, pumping their hammers in the air in celebration, while the Rabbid supporter was far less enthused.

current time

When the team finally got to see what carnage was going on at the end of their rout it turned out to be pretty bad. Minako, Tora and Linkle where all in a terrible state and they were about to be worse with the single gunned turret targeting their hiding spot it’s barrel spinning up as it prepared to blow them all away. In the heat of the moment Bowser did something very dumb, he ignored the convenient cover and announced his presence to the turrets. First he grabbed his hat by the brim and with a quick flick of the wrist tossed it like a discus at Bastion, the hat bonking into its cannon and knocking it off course before it could gun down the left team. “HAY NERD!” he yelled at the engineer. Any follow up insults where drowned out by the responding hail of gunfire from the level three sentry. “GAH!” he roared, bringing his left hand up in front of his face once again. This time however it was not simply scaled knuckles absorbing fire but the Mecha Mitt’s energy buckler, the orange shield protecting his vulnerable face while he once again soaked damage with his armored body.

“HAHA. WEREN'T EXPECTING THAT WHERE YOU” he taunted, only to realize that he was unable to quickly advance to deal with the threats. The dule gunned turret might lack bastion’s raw firepower but it imposed a heavy knock back far greater than the tier one ones back at the pit stop. Despite this he began to trudge forwards painfully slowly, drawing fire and making cover closer to the engineer’s sentry nest easier to reach. Despite this there was still the danger of the engineer, stray bullets from the sentry and, of course, bastion.

As he did this his minions, who had sensibly taken the provide cover, entered the fray. Or tired to at least. The bros were about to charge out into the warzone when Heel grabbed Mallet’s hand to stop him. The bros turned their focus to the Rabbid as it pointed over at a piece of cover closer to the turrets, then pointed at Sledge, mimed the action of giving a boost followed by the sound of something sailing through the air before landing with a poof. Finally it pointed at Mallets hammer and made a tossing motion in the direction towards the turrets. Mallet looked at him, a confused and disapproving look on his face. “What are you on about bunny? We’re wasting time. Let's get out there and help the boss already you coward!”

Heel shook their head in disagreement, pointing their index fingers towards their throat and stabbing them in the direction of it repeatedly while making bullet noises, followed by a death noise as it lolled its tongue out of its mouth. Then it repeated the giving a boost motion and mimed a one hand sailing over the other which was once again making the same jabbing motion accompanied by gun noises.

“We. go over the bullets?” Mallet said hesitantly to which Heel nodded vigorously. “Alright. But you go first” Heel hesitated for a moment before nodding reluctantly. “Alright. Sledge, give him a boost!”

The bigger bro assumed the position, dropping his sledgehammer and cupping his hands together down low for Heel to step on. The Rabbid obliged, taking as much of a run up as their cover could allow before stepping onto the hand platform and being tossed into the air. Heel added his own jump to the momentum of the throw and in doing so turned a Rabbid toss into a team jump, the mad bunny sailing over the stray shots coming at them and the attention of their sentient foes before landing safely behind the closer cover. A few moments afterwards Mallet joined him and together the pair began to attack the engineers position with his worst nightmare. Indirect fire. Safe behind their block the Rabbid and hammer brow chucked grenades and hammers at the sentry nest, Malet aiming at where the sentry sat immobile while Heel spread his fire out, fishing for a lucky hit that caught both a turret and the engineer in the same blast.
Parvus & Azura

As Parvus was exploring the jungles of the Eye of Desolation, he sensed another god flying overhead. With a simple wave, he announced his presence to flying deity.

The response he got was less subdued, the bird calling down from on high ”Parvus! It’s so good to see you. There is a clearing just too your north that I think it would be a lovely place to chat, if you have the time that is?”

Parvus bowed slightly, ”I always have time for my fellow gods.” easily following her into the clearing.

Azura settled herself down at one end of the area, talons hidden beneath her as her feathers fluffed against the ground, her large frame taking up a great deal of the gap in the tree line. Her radiant feathers banished away any shadows in the area, filling the clearing instead with an soft ever present light.

”I haven’t seen anyone else since I left the architect’s throne, only their work so it is good to finally cross paths with another. Has Galbar been treating you well?”

Parvus paused for a moment, ”Right now it seems as though Galbar is simply a wet rock with only this jungle to adore it. he said, sighing a bit.

”Oh?” she sounded a touch disappointed at that ”I had hoped the world beyond might have grown while I had been busying away here. Are the others more interested in throwing stones around than they are in creating?”

”I have not had time to explore the rest of this planet. I have been fairly busy as of late. However, does it not seem counterproductive to create lush forests, only for them to be washed away by giant waves. Image if this forest was created before that meteorite had landed, and not after. That would be a shame.” Parvus said, sighing again.

”Ah I see” she perked up a little at the first part only to return to a more dour disposition at hearing the remainder. ”I suppose that is true, such haste may have been foolish. I should add that I did not make this garden but I have invested into seeing it spread. Still, it now is the time creation is it not, rather than a time of destruction? If not now then when? Should we sit idle as we wait for those with destructive urges to tire themselves out, or do we soldier on, knowing the risks and building a world in such a way that it can survive beyond one mere cataclysm?”

Parvus paused, and then smirked, ”You are correct. But I believe I should advise caution. Is it not wasteful and cruel to leave your creations at the mercy of the destructive gods, only to replace them if they perish? Perhaps we could alleviate the symptoms of the destructive gods, in order to prevent a cataclysm. Reefs that break giant waves, a strong atmosphere to shield from things which fall from the celestial heavens, and so on. Do you have any suggestions?”

”You sound like someone running a census.” She responded jovially, her spirits lifted by the knowledge that at least one other god was concerned about the threats facing their shared world. ”But as for suggestions...” she paused for a moment to consider. ”The meteor passed through my sphere on the way here, and all things approaching the day side of Galbar have a good chance of passing though. I am not sure of the specifics at the moment, but it is well positioned to act as a shield of some kind. Perhaps to blow attacks from above off course?” she sounded rather uncertain about all of this. ”Perhaps a better place to start is to simply find out who is a danger and why? I may be being a tad optimistic, but I am unaware of any other incidents other than the one we now stand on, so perhaps we can all, together, prevent further devastation by coming to an accord with one-another” she finished, ignorant of so many of the events that had taken place while she had been fixated on the Eye.

”I simply value the considerations of my fellow gods. I believe it would be quite noble in order to use your barrier as a shield to protect life on Galbar. However. he said, pausing and taking on a more serious tone, ”If you confront another god about this, and they still wish to endanger life on Galbar, will you be willing to impose yourself on them with force. That is quite a serious, and dangerous course of action.”

”I...” her gaze darted briefly to his side, where a spike of chitin rested as if it were a sheathed blade. Though she may have been incorrect in identifying the implement, she nonetheless made assumptions about what she thought Paravu’s own answer would be, and it made her nervous. ”am unsure” she finally responded weakly.

Parvus looked down, and grimaced for just a moment before returning to normal and turning back to face the wind god, ”Have you ever seen a war between gods before? It is a terrible thing. And something I wish to avoid if all possible. And it only takes a single spark in order to start a fire.” he said, in a calm, tense voice.

There was a stirring of a memory deep within the goddess soul at the thought of such a conflict, one that had been smothered by eons in the void. It failed to surface, falling apart as it did so but it managed to impart two emotions upon her. One was dread, one that matched the emotion Parvus had attempted to invoke. The other was a hard won confidence and that terrified her. This all mixed with the guilt she felt from the knowledge that a divine war might well be inevitable, because there were chains that she needed to break. Azura knew she would not be able to distract herself from the fact of their existence forever. ”Such a conflict would be horrifying” see said with the utmost sincerity, her words melancholy and giving little to no indication to the complex emotional turmoil that had gripped the normally cheerful goddess.

Parvus paused, and seemingly had to force the words out his throats, contrary to normal his voice was quiet and shaking, ”Have you ever heard the screams of a dying god?. Parvus composed himself afterwards, ”I apologize, I should have never asked such a morbid question. I am unsure what came over me. It seems as though I am making habit of speaking of morbid things, however some things require discussion regardless of how uncomfortable they are.

”If I have then I count the erasing of my memory of what came before the void as a blessing.” she responded, gazing east at the setting sun for a moment before returning her focus to Parvus. ”You were right to bring up such dismal possibilities. We are so many who have all been given such power and yet we know so little about one another's intentions. This discussion may have been painful, but it is good to know that we both agree on one thing. That we should not fight lest we bring this fragile reality to ruin.”

Parvus paused, and pointed a random tree ”Allow me to ask you a question, how much do you care about that one tree? This jungle? The concept of nature? You are right. Actions have consequences, which sometimes not even gods can foresee.”

She cocked her head at this line of inquiry, unsure as to where it would lead and a little concerned that her declaration had been wet with a question rather than agreement. ”Enough to want them to be free to exist without unavoidable annihilation being forced upon them. Perhaps that applies more to creatures than to trees, but the principle remains. I value freedom Parvus and can anyone be said to be free if at any moment they might be wiped of the face of Galbar along with anyone else in thousand kilometer radius? Also frankly as a god I don’t see myself as a great source of foresight, though perhaps that is because I have stayed close to the ground for too long. How about you. What do you care about?”

”I care about Galbar, its life, and it's life’s future. It is why I asked my question, in order to encourage you to act with wisdom, lest you be the problem which you are trying to solve. It can be counter-intuitive, but tell me, where you free within the great nothingness between words, unconstrained by anything? Not even constrained by physical laws? Parvus said.

”Where we unconstrained? I don’t remember much about it other than the fact that once the possibility to escape came I leapt at it. I think I see what you mean though, that it is unwise to mollycoddle life, that to be completely free of the influence of outside forces is to be trapped inside an sterile unchanging cell. Still, there are levels to these things. This very conversation is us in effect thrusting sentences at each other, creating unexpected circumstances in the process and yet that is very different from thrusting swords at one another in anger. Adversity makes life interesting, but too much of it, particularly when it is routinely or strongly forced upon us rather than sought out, simply brings life to a sorry end.”

While not the point he was attempting to get across, he did not allow that to show, and merely nodded along, ”Yes. Of course. Moderation is important. I am glad we agree on this.

Azura made a disgruntled sound before responding. ”I feel like I’ve stumbled somewhere here. Perhaps it might be easier if you simply explain your intent with these questions rather than continuing this cavalcade of queries?”

Parvus merely smirked, ”I don’t have any more questions. As for my intention, I am merely trying to better understand where you stand on important issues, and to give you guidance.

”Right” Azura said, finally realizing that she was being manipulated, though to what end she was unsure. Certainly Parvus had learned a lot more about her than she had about him. She resisted the, incredibly weak, temptation she had to simply eat the little bug as her Emerald Keas did. Then she sighed and concluded ”Well I hope this conversation has been enlightening for you because frankly it has left me in the dark”

As if to drive home this point the sun exploded. Or rather a new sun formed in the west, briefly banishing the evening sky and covering the whole sky with the Blue for a fraction of second before it shattered into a million pieces. At this Azura cold only stare.

”That. Is not good.” she said said flatly, the shock numbing her to the sheer scope of what had just occurred.

After she had investigated the Eye Azura had taken up roost on one of the smaller islands to rest. She did not sleep, the fear of being hit by more falling rocks prevented such a respite, but she did spend quite some time mostly inactive in her craggy nest while she recovered. While she did so she watched as Phystene erected a great forest upon the greatest of the islands, a natural wonder surrounded by a lifeless sea and barren neighbours. After she was sufficiently recovered Azura took wing and soared across the great bay to the fertile island.

The curious parrot came in for a landing in an unremarkable part of the jungle, a landing which went rather poorly. The goddess’s immense size did a number on the area, her flapping wings sending torrents of wind through the forest that spread chaos and flattened less sturdy plants, while her actual landing brought down a number of trees. Once she hat touched down and folded her wings against her body Azura looked around rather sheepishly at the destruction she had wrought

”oh dear. I’m very sorry” she apologised to the forest before sighing ”your so very fragile aren't you. It will be a miracle if you survive.” she continued before pausing and becoming lost in thought. She felt a little guilty and wanted to do something to apologise for the damages. She also was very concerned about the possibility of this little patch of life being wiped out and there being none left on Galbar. After thinking about this for a bit she came up with an idea.

Ever so carefully Azura reached around with her beak and plucked 6 of her glowing feathers, each different color of the spectrum, from her rainbow wings. A gentle breeze caught each and gathering them all before her where the feathers formed 3 pairs of dancers that were blown to and fro by gentle winds to keep them aloft. Then she filled her lungs with divine power and breathed out, her voice crafting the empowered breath with purpose.

To the Red and Cyan pair she sang ”Precious parakeet, drinker of nectar and pollination of flowers, with my breath I give you life” and the breath that had created the sound of the tune wrapped around the feathers, creating a small parrot who was mostly cyan but had a crimson chest and a special tongue for licking up nectar from flowers.

To the blue and yellow pair she sang ”Radiant Macaw, feaster of fruit and nut, carrier of seeds across the world, with my breath I give you life” and they formed a large resplendent bird with a strong beak who was blue on top and a yellow underneath.

To the green and magenta pair she sang ” Boisterous Kea, devour of pests, protector of plants and kin, with my breath I give you life” and they formed a Parrot of middling size that was green all over except for flashes of pink found on the underside of its wings and who's beak and talons where razor sharp.

The three parrots landed on a the branch of a tree just in front of Azura, their feathers shining slightly with their own light just as the ones they had been made from had.

”Three you be of color six
A problem for me you will fix
Nature is threatened from the sky
And without your aid it will surely die
Bring this world what it lacks
And may the wind always be at your backs
Shine light and life to every corner
Lest foolish gods leave me a mourner”

She sang to them, only to be surprised when the glimmering trio sang it back with her own voice. The Kea sand with a slightly deeper of voice, the parakeet with one a touch higher and the macaw a perfect, if quieter, match. Together they formed a rather beautiful harmony.

”We three of color six
A problem for for you we will fix
Nature is threatened from the sky
And without our aid it will surely die
We bring this world what it lacks
And Azura’s wind is always at our backs
For her we shine light and life to every corner
So that foolish gods don't leave her a mourner”

”aww that’s adorable.” she cooed, while internally noting that she should probably avoid giving everything she made the gift of speech lest it annoy a certain god. ”Now go my creations, and paint this world with all the colors of the rainbow” she commanded, her wings opening wide and releasing a gust of air towards them, causing the three shining gems to suddenly shattered into a thousand pieces, forming great flocks of birds that quickly spread out across Phystene’s forest to begin spreading plant life, and inadvertently song, to wherever they could reach.

For a few days after she watched and observed her creations, making minor adjustments as she went to help them adapt to life and avoid the many fathered and scaled creatures of the jungle that might want to eat them. She made them faster, and made it so that they could softener intensify their glow. She taught them how to cooperate to attack or dazzle predators and gave them words to call out in alarm when threats were spotted. When she was finally satisfied she lead a grand exodus to one of the nearby islands, a great flock of birds following in her wake, till they all arrived at their destination and prepared to start planting only to run into a problem. Namly that it is very hard to plant seeds in rock. Upon coming to this realization azura promptly buried her face an outstretched wing in the universe's first facepalm while groaning loudly.

” Gaaaaaah. I am so… no. no. this is fine. I can fix this”

She plucked a final feather from her wing, this one purple, and paired it with a splinter of Orvium left by the impact instead of a second feather, hoping to strengthen her fourth bird with the metal component. As before she sang to it.

”Mighty Cockatoo, breaker of stone, maker of fertile soil, with my breath I give you life” and the two formed a bird, one sporting dark feathers that seems almost metallic within which shon a deep purple, a mohawk and a beak that was a blunt as a hammer. Its aura too was darker, more subdued and it wore down all it touched. This worked for her purpose, their entoptic aura adding to their stone breaking prowess. Her final bird made she added to her their song

”To these three I add a fourth
And together you shall all go forth
To soften stone and plant the seeds
While singing songs of your deeds

This too they sang back, the lone Cockatoo’s voice deeper still than even the Kea’s yet notably quiet and subdued.

”To the three she added a fourth
And together we shall all go forth
To soften stone and plant the seeds
While singing songs of our deeds”

After this the Coactoo shattered into a flock of its own species, and together all the parrots set to work. The Cocktoo‘s broke down the aura weakened stone by headbanging away at it with their beaks, the Kea’s dug into the new soil, the macaws planted seeds and the parakeets brought nectar from the main island’s world tree, letting a single drop fall on every seed to speed their growth. When the day grew late they returned to the jungle, to rest and feed. In time they would return to continue the planting and to tend to the saplings.

Satisfied with her work Azura took to the skies once more. She had tarried too long in one place, and her wings itched, willing her to go forth and explore the rest of the world.

It had been quite some time since she last donned her armor and she was suffering because of it. What had once been a perfectly fitted by the greatest of armored that had escaped the fall of the empire now felt like a battered coffin. Its magnificence had been dented and repaired far too many times and the luxurious lifestyle she had lived after her uncle had become Pantokrator had left the armor a bit of a tight fit. She spent most of her marched through the streets of platform city towards the castle grumbling under her breath about being out on the front lines again, this time with no servants or army. Just her and her Lictor ax.

Still, it wasn't all bad. The city itself was a sight to behold, vast and full of strange and wondrous things that put even her home of Sceleria to shame, and that was a place that was capital of a whole world where the divine graced the earth with their presence and where waited on hand and foot by the dead. Here it seemed they were waited on by a strange little creature with blue robes and amop of bright green hair. The strange little fellow met her at the castle gates and brought her up to the 49th floor, where, after a brief altercation with a scientist over what vaccines where she joined the others for their briefing. They where mostly human almost all of of whom where not wearing any armor. There Two turtle like creatures which wasn’t that odd. She was sure she’d seen some people like them back home. One was some kind of elven dancer. Finally there was a bronze golem of some kind. All in all they were an interesting bunch.

They were given a briefing by a handsome prince who outlined the threat of a Lich King who was making deals with plague spreaders. With the threat made clear Constantina began to take this more seriously, standing up a little straighter and banishing any hint of frustration from her face. She had been concerned that this had just been some fool’s errand to get her out the house, but this was clearly a very important matter. The Law’s of Death had been broken and there was an undead king who needed to be brought to justice at the end of her executioner's axe.

Their leader/guide in this endeavor was also taking someone to take seriously, a man clad in thick and ornate plate armor. Perhaps a little too ornate. She could appreciate a good skull motif but he was maybe taking things a tad to far in her opinion, because skull symbols were quite literally everywhere on his armor. He introduced himself as Highlord of the Ebon Knights, proceeded to be cagey about who they were, which was a little worrying, and then informed them of the existence of undead hordes besieging their destination which spurred her to action.

”Then there is no time to waste. Let us go forth and smite these lawbreaking un-dead"

She said, hefting her ax up from where it had been resting against her side and following the others through the portal.

Azura’s planning session was interrupted by the appearance of two lights. The first was the arrival of Galbar’s first day, the light streaming down from an unknown sphere above illuminating this side of the world for all to see. Any disappointment she felt at no longer being this world’s one source of light was quickly washed away by the gentle warmth streaming down from Heliopolis and the sight of her sphere, now distantly visible in the vast blue sky that had arrived with the sun, her vast stone perches barely visible hanging in the sky like strange solid stars.

As she bathed in the new light the sun was briefly joined by a red burning twin. She was confused monetarily, then briefly aghast as the red sun’s passing seems to create a shockwave that buffeted her temples aside as it briefly passed though her sphere and finally disappeared over the horizon.

”Wha” was all that managed to come out of Azura’s mouth before she was blinded by a flash of light coming from the direction of the meteorite. She spread her wings wide in alarm, just in time for the blast to hit her, hurling the Goddess off of her craggy perch as Seihdara’s actions once again swept her off her feet. The torrent of air released by the impact bore her skywards. Azura was left dumbstruck for a few moments, tumbling dazed through the air and only coming to her senses when she realized she had started falling rather than soaring upwards. Still blind she attempted to slow and right herself to avoid a watery grave, but the blastwave she was unintentionally riding rendered this next to impossible. Gripped by anger and panic she fumblingly gripped the air around her with her power and commanded it to stop mistreating her.

”Enough of this!” She sang loudly

The wind obayed, hurling itself in opposition of the blastwave while at the same time she commanded the air it consisted of to calm and rise upwards. Combined pulling and pushing sufficiently stabilized the air around her, and Azura was able to use her wings to catch it, carrying her up and away form the waves she was mere moments from crashing into.

As she sored up and away in her now calmer air pocket her vision slowly returned and what she saw was greatly troubling. Below a ring shaped tsunami was spreading out behind the blastwave, both of which originated from an area that had been just beyond the horizon that was now coated in a blanket of dust and mist that was gradually spreading out from the sight of the massive explosion that azura now recognised as the result of a meteorite impact.

I hope no-one got hurt she thought before flying towards the impact sight to make sure. She soared across the sea and into the clouds, her shining form acting as a light in the oppressive darkness that had be brought to this part of the so recently sun kissed world. Gliding to and fro Auzra was unable to make any headway in her investigation, the bank of fog and cloud much to opessive. Eventually, growing frustrated, she propelled herself up and out of the cloud, bursting through its top into the clear air above. Higher and higher she went till she could see the center of the debris cloud. Once she had found I she dove towards it, wings clinging tight to her chest while she dragged a torrent of air along behind her. She pierced the heart of the darkness and spread her wings again to decelerate, causing the air she had brought with her to blossom out, blasting a hole in the cloud. From her newly cleared space she set to work blowing the worst of the obstruction clear, hovering in place and slowly rotating while flapping her wings to gradually dispersing it in all cardinal directions. The site was cleared, but the dust and water vapor the impact had kicked up would no doubt be a lingering feature of Galbar for quite some time.

What she revealed was a ring of newly formed islands jutting out of the sea surrounding the impact site of something mountain sized that had been flung at Galbar. A black sphere sat at the center of the ring of newly formed islands, barely visible through the km of water it had sunk beneath. From above the entire area looked like an eye so that's what she decided to call it. Investigation of the dark object at the center of the Eye yielded little information about who its creator was but the strange metal would no doubt give away its artizan once they, whoever they where, started making more things out of it. Of the target of this attack, if there had ever been one in the first place, there was no trace.

”I really hope chucking massive rocks around does not become a thing among the gods”

With that, the battered and exhausted Azura finally went to find somewhere to land again so she could rest.
