It's not first come first serve, so feel free to compete.
Ettamri was no hero of great repute, no saint of great virtue, but in that moment, galloping down upon the colossal beast, her armor gloriously pure even in the dreary light, the image she cut was certainly heroic, the blade she cut with more than sufficient. The lance had been foiled by the toad’s earthen defenses, but with the momentum of her warhorse, the sheer strength of her arms, the honed edge of her blade would be thwarted by nothing less than tempered steel.

A singular strike sheared through dirt and stone, muscle and fat, leaving a massive gash in the giant toad. It was a wound that would have been instantly fatal if not for the size of the creature, but even disregarding that, it was a blow that the beast felt. Hot air and bodily fluids gushed out towards Ettamri, the tremendous spray of blood coating both herself and her steed as she passed by, while the toad itself was rapidly deflating. By the time it reached Gwyn the combination of its own increased mass and its deformed shape had reduced much of its once ferocious speed.

Against that, there was no way it’d be able to smash through the ward that the Keeper of Light bestowed upon its faithful. With a dull thump, it struck the shimmering barrier and was summarily repulsed, a mere meter away from Gwyn.

The toad gurgled once more, but as quickly as its chest could inflate, the gaping wound on its side deflated, air streaming out. A white fluid seeped from its punctured eye, while its left hindleg twitched, unable to obey the commands that its brain sent down to it. It still had three limbs left, still had its tongue, still had its tremendous mass, but it was certainly in no condition to fight anymore. A smart predator picked when to fight carefully.

With what remained of its mobility, the red-striped toad scramble-crawled away, seeking an impossible escape from the horned monster upon its fearless steed.
A surge of power, a surge of confidence. As radiance seeped into Naoko, the costumed woman couldn't help but let out a laugh, the grin hidden behind her helmet taking on a sardonic laugh. "Who's the Servant now, I wonder," she said teasingly, clenching and unclenching her fist. There was a satisfying crinkle as the leather flexed and contorted, and she nodded slightly. "I appreciate it anyways, Sophie. Probably won't mean I'd be able to dropkick the gold boy, and I also get the feeling that you'd need to have at least A+ Agility to dodge those chains...so hey, nothing lost, yeah?"

Her hand formed an ok-sign, before she mounted the brilliant steed as well, seating herself behind the empress, before allowing her own magic to flow through her systems once more. Her body became water, fluid and fierce, as flexible as a whip. Her mind sharpened to further extremes, the world around her becoming one where seconds were shaved away ever so slowly. Her circuits bloomed with warmth, like another set of veins pumping into her body, and, with all the chutzpah of a true masked hero, Naoko formed a cross with her arms.

"JUSTICE, RIDE ON!"

And, like a falling star, Brilliant shot off.

It was an ugly scene.

The sort of shit she absolutely hoped the Grail War wouldn't devolve into.

Upon a neighboring rooftop overlooking the Franz Burine Plaza, Naoko couldn't help but twist her face into disdain at the sight before her. Senseless slaughter and no regard for collateral damage. First Otto with his hilariously terrible idea of hiring normal guards when he knew he'd be going up against Servants, and now this piece of shit with a Berserker starting a fight in a populated area, smashing apart everyone in their way. God, did they seriously think that a human life was this cheap? Did the 'war' part of the 'Holy Grail War' make everyone forget that it was also supposed to be 'holy'?

"Wow, fuck this shit," Naoko said, watching corpses bloom into monstrous vines as the will-less living fired meaninglessly at another gun-toting Servant. Silver arrows pierced the mad titan from another angle, perhaps an Archer at work, while the Berserker continued his ferocious club-swinging. "Sophie, think you can take the Berserker? Definitely don't wanna be friends with them."

The last thing she wanted was to join a melee of multiple servants, but at the same time, Naoko had no desire at all to let this shit continue. There was no negotiating with a Berserker to relocate to a more appropriate venue, after all, and even less negotiating with a magus who drew normies into the meatgrinder of a Servant battle.

As the other members of Last Genesis approached, with Willow disseminating some much needed healing, Cecilia hopped off Totoro’s shoulders again. Her new spear was, as expected, pretty damn gorgeous and well crafted, and she hummed a cheery tune as she spun it in her hands a couple of times. Light, sturdy, flexible, sharp. Not much more you could ask out of a weapon, for sure.

Well, not that the others were in nearly as cheery of a mood as her.

River wasn’t in a mood at all to stick with the party, Prome was basically shellshocked, Kira had lost her marbles, and Holly was crying up a storm. Predictably, Zks was gone again, and Cecilia almost let out a sigh about how elusive their ‘older brother’ was. Heck, at this point, they might as well just treat him as the ‘distant stepfather’. She latched onto her irritation at the never-present Rogue and drew her own raincoat out of her inventory, draping it over Holly’s form and pulling the hood over the archer’s head. Bending her knees slightly so they were eye to eye, Cecilia gently wiped away her tears, an encouraging smile on her face.

“Save your tears for later, Holly,” she spoke, her tone chirpy and bright, “We’ve got a ways to walk still, and it wouldn’t do good if you got lost with your eyes so blurry, right? C’mon, we can all have a good cry after we get a couple of drinks in town and a nice bed.”

With that, she took the girl by the hand, giving a comforting squeeze before pulling her towards the town in the distance. A burden was lifted, and a shadow was gained. What a fleeting life, huh?
Responsible for it? Now that was a big deal...maybe.

Allereun, unfortunately, was more concerned with how goddamn cute she was despite her emotionless facade than the true gravity of the situation. Through willpower alone, he managed to keep himself from having an unfortunate bulge as she closed the distance between the two of them, but that didn't stop his face from blooming like a terrible drunk when she got closer. God above, she was so small and precious, but so dynamically sensuous too! The cloak was definitely a good idea. If she had still been in her normal clothing, he wasn't certain if he could restrain himself from embracing her.

"A-alright, uh..." the brunette gulped again, pulling at his shirt's collar. "Go ahead, I...guess?"
@AardWolfSure. CS doesn't actually have a portion dedicated to the function of superpowers though, so you'll still have to discuss the specifics with me. Does she only scrape away one's 'outer colors' then? And if it happens to be that they're black on the inside, they'll lash out and be angry? What's the case if someone is genuinely happy?

@HeadlessIf you wanna voice your interest, don't debate color physics and pitch me a character idea instead. ;3

@SavoSounds fine with me.

@CanidaeIt's the person who decides whether they want to change themselves or change the world, but I'd say that yours leans more towards wanting to change yourself. The only thing that you've missed the mark on is that it's less cyberpunk-aesthetic and just weird. Biker gang character is a-ok with me though. An ability to sever another's perception of you is fine with me. Just figure out a nice image to go along with it.

To give people a clearer idea of how powers pan out, I'll list current power ideas, as well as pluck some nonexistent ones to serve as an example.

Burger's thing: Change yourself and become a Frankenstein-esque monster that takes limbs from others to replace their own.
AardWolf's thing: Change yourself and 'steal' the emotions of others by sucking out their 'colors'.
Savo's thing: Change the world and create a snapshot of the world around him.
Canidae's thing: Change yourself and jam the perceptions of others, effectively gaining invisibility.

Change the world, and perceive the hearts of human beings as imperfect roses, with the imperfections symbolizing something that these humans lack. Through that, one can damage or mend a heart by interacting with the roses they see.
Change yourself, and gain a split personality that serves as an automatic defense system when you or the people around you are in trouble.
Change the world, and see human connections as a mass of strings. By weaving strings together, can turn individuals into a collective.
Change yourself, and perceive the greatest 'emotional weakness' of a human as an illusion around them. When you kill them, you gain pleasure proportionate to how fearful they are at the time of their demise.
Change the world, and perceive the shadows cast by living beings as reflective of their sins. With that, you can offer absolution or retribution, giving life to their shadows.
Change yourself, and SET YOUR HAND ABLAZE WITH AN UNQUENCHABLE FLAME AS THE DEVIL DRAGON SEALED IN YOUR LEFT EYE HOWLS UPON THE ADVENT OF THE DEMON LORD'S BANQUET.

In general, it's easier to gain offensive powers through a desire to 'change yourself', because there's a hell lot of people who'd just wish they were better/stronger/could protect their loved ones/etc. These sorts of wishes would manifest themselves in gaining superhuman physical attributes, more or less. Gaining a naturally offensive power through a desire to change the world though, is more indicative that you'd rather destroy the world than change/fix it.
@AardWolfYou can propose as many pitches as you'd like. I'm gonna be busy till the end of next week, so don't worry about rushing anything out. Anyways, the ability to take another's happiness or whatever certainly does sound fun. Might I suggest something along the lines of how she's always been able to see people's emotions colored over their bodies through a form of synesthesia? And what the Lostman provided to her is the ability to do the color-stealing thing.

Slight thing to consider though, if you REALLY wanna go hard with color metaphors. If you remove colors from something, eventually, I think you'll get white, not black, cause white is (as far as I know) the absence of all color.
@Savo I don't generally go by first come first served basis when it comes to my RPs, so don't worry about the count right now. If you're interested, toss something in. And I'm fine with having a pause button as a power, but what sort of desire would align itself with that? Pretty easy answer, but, you know, just checking to see if you were thinking of a power that's relevant to the character rather than just a power that sounds interesting.

@AardWolfIf she craved the ability to escape from reality, how does that align with this ability being something that would then be able to affect other people? Does she have a superhero complex mixed in as well, only it's crushed by a cynical, unfeeling reality? I'd imagine that simple escapism would probably manifest itself more as the ability to make herself dream lucidly and just do whatever the hell she wants, but that's just me.

@Burger
Known for her unfettered brashness, overconfidence, and aggression, Marina is known to be quick to anger

Are you okay? You know this isn't an essay you're writing, yeah? XD

Anyways, it all reads fine to me. Definitely have a lotta things I could do with it. Maybe the Collectors will really just be a boy band.

"Uh, I mean..."
Allereun tried to picture it as much as he could, but on the other hand, the Spellblaze was literally ancient history for him. He didn't know anyone who had any stories about 'pre-Spellblaze' times, and all things considered, the thought of only a set group of people having magic as a 'gift' ran against his own thoughts on what magic should be to begin with. Though he wasn't particularly religious, he wasn't immune to the dogma of the church either. So, all things considered...

...November must be going through her rebellious phase or something. Ah, he remember those times, where he dreamed of being a dragon slaying mage that wielded words of power, capable of raising and obliterating mountain ranges.

"That's a good thing, isn't it? Sure, maybe it's a bit crazy that they were prepared for the disaster, but we wouldn't be living in such a peaceful society now if it wasn't for their willingness to take control."

As he spoke, his eyes naturally slid towards the windows, in search of any possible eavesdroppers. This wasn't heretical talk, right? Hopefully.
@BurgerTotally not sus, that a psychopath would be the first to uncover dead bodies in alleyways. Totally not sus at all.

You're the bad guy here.

@AardWolfYou'd be the fourth, which is still within my 'small group' limits, so feel free to toss up a pitch.

And here's the CS, for anyone who feels like neglecting their other commitments to get this done early. Powers and abilities aren't a part of it, because I can more or less memorize what they are and hey, hidden talents are always fun to reveal later on.
