LIMITS ⫻ David's abstraction has a range limit which means he cannot use his abstraction on people past a certain point. David will have a hard time sorting out thoughts in a person's head. While he gets information from the forefront of the mind, he also gets all the weird and sexual thoughts that are not only useless to him, but also slows down the process. The Awakened are not immune to the process, but they can feel the connection that David has made, and at will are capable of dispelling it at will.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ David's abstraction causes a mental "bleed effect" as the thoughts, personality, and memories, of those he mind-links start to become his own. He slowly starts to absorb the memories of that person as long as the mind link persists until there's nothing left of that person. Even if the link is broken, David retains a bit of that person. Whether it be their personality, their memories, and so on. In addition, his mind taking on so much information can be damaging, and after a lengthy mind link he may need a break or else he'll suffer a complete mental overload that'll not only stop him from thinking straight, but cause him severe pain.

Ah okay, while we're at it I was reading through the lore again. We begin at a camp during summer vacation? Would that mean that 18 year old characters would not have joined the school as of that moment?
Well I think I'll be applying to this,
I have an application nearly complete but I'm not completely certain on the abstraction to use, as my character seems fit to have a knowledge replicating ability although that itself sounds too similar to Baek's own abstraction. Mine is centred around knowledge replication only unlike Baek's though I'm still not certain if it is too similar..

A fire guy. Manipulation, generations, whatever. It's simple and might not be as interesting as being able to manipulate cause and effect, but it actually fits his character pretty well—especially if we wanna hit that pretentious symbolism nail right on the head. There's this thing called Wu Xing that's an early Chinese idea that applied elements to emotions and parts of the body. Fire's organ is the heart (you know, burning with passion and all that bull), and Justin's biggest thing seems to be listening to his heart instead of thinking things through. Plus, his main emotion is joy, which in Wu Xing is governed by the heart. Plus, fire is a useful tool but it's also a very destructive force, and somebody that shoots from his hip like Justin might not think that a controlled burn would be better than a dang firestorm. Then's there's the whole "fire as a torch shining light on the investigation of his grandmother" idea. Also, having a fire guy would offer more opportunities for someone like @Majoras End to challenge Maddie's fears and weaknesses. Ya know, for easy access to that good teen drama.
Hell, you already made the duder's color red.
