@Dog I like the fact that this is the very real result of what the Republic is creating and why I appreciate characters like this. I believe it is still a WIP? So far it's looking great and I can't wait to see it when its done. Other comments aside, if it were the final submission I would agree with sentiments on the "Who Are You?", but you've got three days worth of time to make @KillamriX88 stop talking.

That being said, I actually don't talk enough so you're fine, Killamri. Just hold the comments until they're done.

Oh, I can add more onto Mazu Soran. I'll add it into the extras really quickly, thank you! I was really feeling the Upper Ring or Underground while writing him as a character, I decided to go Upper class last minute.

That's my fault for not being very clear with some of my instructions, especially the NPC part and how much I wanted. I thought I knew exactly what I needed to start the game, especially after having run it before, but every time I do and people start coming through, new eyes tell me what I'm not seeing. Thanks for expanding on his lore!

@canaryrose I absolutely love her and the way she thinks. She fits perfectly in the world and even better, from what you've provided, I can really get a sense for how she feels about living in it. Her fears as a Bender but also the need to burn brightly while also trying to avoid getting killed. It translates perfectly. Wonderful addition of the sport as well.

I know you may still edit a few items but the sheet so far needs no changes. Very very nice job!

@OddApproved I'd missed this earlier (I apologize, it's been a long weekend), but Katakuri is only missing an NPC. Also wanted to tell you now that I'm less busy that he drips Upper Ring and I do love the goodest bois.

The lower ring is an absolutely perfect place for radicalization. You have unwashed masses of poverty-stricken laborers and workers - the poorest of the poor. What I envision my character being is a self-educated factory worker that peddles radical ideology while also organizing the means to commit revolution against the Republic for a better future.

I totally agree. There is plenty in place in the Lower Ring to push this and plenty the City has to fight back to create a nice environment of political unrest that would reach all the way to the palace in the Central Ring. I would definitely be interested in seeing this character brought to life.

@Dog This game isn't intended to be very political. Despite the setting and how widespread we may be at the start, the goal is to have us eventually grouped together and moving in one direction (not strictly on a railroad) on a more adventure romp with 'quests' and such. That being said, someone who is good at navigating politics may be helpful in more places than just the City and ultimately, later, any lasting changes could only be made by someone who's comfortable in that space. As long as you're aware of that, I think a type of character like this would really work well with what the story needs.

Before this dissuades you, I think I'd really like to see what you're wanting to make.

@OddApproved Welcome! Energybending (and all advanced forms of bending) will be available given enough time in our world. It exists but no one knows how to do it and no players can start with it.

@Theyra Your addition of drones is great and I may have some things to work out with you in the future if accepted that will help the start of the story. The only thing I have to point out is the library. I'm being strict on the information available on Benders from after the war that attempt to paint Benders in any kind of positive light. The family's library is located in the Upper Ring (is that where it's located?) and information possessed here would lean severely in favor of the Republic rather than Benders. Everything pre-war or pushing Bending agenda would have been thoroughly searched for and destroyed in this ring as there are less cracks for information to fall through. So learned history in this area may leave Reman feeling differently.

However, if you still want him to feel the way he does about Benders, it is possible, but that sentiment would have to be reached another way. One possible solution is that his family does have books before the war, but then you'd have to ask yourself why they hid them and how.

Not that this is the case or that he needs to act a certain way because of his profession, but also consider that he is in the drone business and one of their biggest buyers might be the RSF, purchasing replacements and ordering maintenance on the drones they've bought from Xuoshi Enterprises.. that they use to hunt Benders in the Wild.

@trenenp Good additions of the fighting styles that I had failed to implement myself. I had forgotten about the martial art used by the Kyoshi Warriors so it's nice to see it being honored here.

However, there are a number of things we have to discuss. Changes to information which seems to be coming from a simple misunderstanding of the setting. I am more than willing to help of course.

A martial art associated with the Kyoshi Warriors who are associated with Avatar Kyoshi would not be allowed to be taught anywhere in the city. I'd treat this like bending. If the skill wanted to be mastered despite its regulation, then the first hurdle to clear would be the absence of any teachers or official knowledge on the subject. Of course Mayuki is also a bender and for balance purposes, the only character allowed to improve a martial art in this game will be a non-bender. I will allow Benders the basics of their real world counterparts for each element, ie. Tai Chi for Mayuki, but only after they've improved their bending form.

Continuing from this point, carrying weapons such as an iron fan folded into swords would be rather impractical, especially in the Upper Ring. There is no reason to be walking around armed to the teeth like this. If it helps, imagine it like walking outside with two swords on your hip and a bow staff in your hand. People would ask questions and maybe not politely. It would be less of an issue if it was better concealed, like a sword in a cane, but that again touches on a character's prowess in self defense.

Mayuki is allowed basic knowledge of a martial art that they can practice daily. It's by no means advanced, but will allow them to defend themselves if attacked or hold their ground in a one on one fight.

Moving forward, his jealousy of Benders doesn't entirely make sense to me. He is a Bender himself and if he isn't bending presently, in this world, Benders are very rare and are hunted and killed. What makes him jealous of this fact? And why does he hate the Republic? Given his status and where he lives, everything around him is telling him that the Republic is great and is providing everything he and his family needs. What makes him think differently? Remember that almost everyone dislikes Benders. They're the reason for the state of the world.

Finally, the Jewelry alone could get your character killed immediately.

I know the above is a lot but I want to make sure everyone has a chance at getting in. If the setting confuses you, do let me know so I can try to get you on the same page.

@Abstract Proxy @vietmyke I just wanted to let you two know that I've read through your sheets once and they both seem fine, but I'm also currently 'away' and cannot properly sit down with them and study them closely. I'll go through them both again at a later time and make sure everything is still fine, but from first glance, amazing stuff, both of you.

@vietmyke Amazing so far. I really have nothing to critique which is a good thing. In fact, the questions I have to ask are more about exploring some of the ideas you've established further. I'll wait till you're done with your sheet before I message you about it. Also, I'm really liking the way you've turned a line of lore about pipe conveyance into an entire world of it's own. Very nicely done!

No to both. There is currently no known Avatar and no one's character will secretly be it. Also, with 5 players filling each available slot, I will be not be playing a singular character but multiple smaller ones that revolve around our main cast. They'll be there to drive plots and provide prompts. One may be more prominent than the rest, but none will be my 'main'.
