Damien let his enhanced senses take the lead as he strolled through the mall. He followed that rugged scent that was all too familiar. He circled about almost aimlessly as the scent had spread in all sorts of directions before he found himself walking past a group of four conversing. The words heard from them were not as important as the scent that came off of them. Judging by how easily, Damien could follow them, the four must have just entered the mall. Lucky Damien. This instance would just be another excuse to get drunk and high at the same time more often.

"Don't you need dog bowls for that?" Damien commented as he passed by the group with a smirk on his face. His comment was meant to catch their attention or maybe it was to kind of tick them off. Four in one place. Definitely a pack. His eyes flashed yellow before he continued walking on his way.

Damien's last shot of tequila did not appear to phase him. With the young passerby gone and his final shot downed, Damien got up from his bar stool and walked to the restroom. The tequila had given him the slight buzz he was looking for and now it was time to even things out.

He quickly moved to the closest sink while pulling out a small plastic vial. He made sure to be quick as he poured the cocaine and used a credit card to form a solid line. He closed the vial and tucked it into his pocket with the credit card. With the pinch of one nostril, he used the other to snort the cocaine. The bump he had indulged in earlier had just been an appetizer for this solid dose of the drug.

He grinned to himself in the sink mirror as he wiped any leftover specks frlm his face. As he did so, he noticed the tattoo on his hand overlap with his mouth, giving him a ghoulish mask for a moment. Now this is how you start off the day!

The Vibe

Damien exited the restroom, the separate buzzes from the tequila and cocaine combining to create quite a mood-lifting concoction. He made eyes with the bartender and nodded at the woman as he grabbed his umbrella and stepped out the door into the rain that was beginning to slow down.

There was no hint of the sun coming out any time soon, but the rain would end within the hour, leaving Ember Grove with an overcast sky. With pep in his step Damien headed back towards the mall with a friendly smile on his face for those that passed by. Whether he received smiles back or awkward stares, he didn't care. Damien was truly feeling himself.

In the distance, perched on top of a bus stop bench that had a shelter to keep waiting passengers dry, Lucy watched a goofy Damien stroll up to the mall as if he was walking on the clouds. She was sure he was buzzing which meant he would try to be a bit more social than usual. Sometimes it just got a bit out of hand. The raven blinked a few times as she watched him twirl his umbrella before closing it as he entered the mall. It was possibly worse than she thought. The raven croaked before twisting her head to peer up at the sky. She'd fly once the rain died down some more.

Meanwhile, Damien entered the mall and took a deep breath, almost as if to announce his good and relaxed mood to all near the entrance. In reality, he was feeling out the place. His eyes flashed yellow for less than a second as his excitement spiked. The scent is thick with mutts… fun fun fun. Looks like the theme for today is dog eat dog… And Damien is oh so very hungry.

Darius concealed his disapproval of Artemis' words. It was as if she hadn't heard all of what he just told her, and then there were the inconsistencies with what he thought he knew. Going back and forth wasn't something he was in the mood for and judging by Artemis' changing of the subject, he assumed she felt the same. When she asked about using the tub, he nodded.

"Yeah you can use it… I think I'm going to take a walk, grab a bite to eat and maybe see if we can have amora take you somewhere with some water. You mentioned a place called Roshmi, right?" Darius said as he made his way out of the room. He could tell Artemis disliked being here, even with its better parts like Edena. "I'll be back." Darius put on a smile despite feeling conflicted. He just didn't want anyone to worry and kind of wanted some time to himself.

Once in the hall, his face reflected his true feelings. Artemis could be right. Some things line up, but some of it doesn't make sense. Darius tried to remember it all, as she mentioned quite a lot. Someone like Aklenroth would definitely do some low down shit like making me see images that would make me want to stay… Were they even real?

Darius stopped in his tracks. He was now in a corridor he was not familiar with. It was the same one Kol had carried his unconscious body through. Concern filled him before a bit of reason took hold of his mind.

Even if the visions were false, the possibility was real. The rebels used the DROMs to bring people here at random without concern for who was brought in and where they might end up… And it seems strange they'd put all this effort to bring us here to remove Aklenroth from power, but then just let us go back to Earth if we asked? They do have the DROMs though… but I don't think they can send people back or else Aklenroth would have threatened them to do it. He threatened them to surrender and kill us if need be. And if he has the only way out… Then once they dethrone Aklenroth, they can send the humans home no problem. Darius pondered this as he absent mindedly roamed the castle. By now he was in the less pleasant part of its enormous makeup.

Both sides are using us and both are fucked up in their own right. Aklenroth might be worse, but his side has the advantage. He rules Avalia, he has a way back to Earth… or claims to, and he didn't almost get me eaten by a fucking troll! Then there's the issue of that crystal. Malgormuun is a problem if what Artemis said was true.

Did anything that fish spout seem true to you? She is the true deceiver… Darius almost jumped upon hearing Malgormuun's voice in his head. The demon spoke with venom, which told Darius that he wasn't a fan of Artemis and what she had said. Tell me, why would I show myself to you if I sought to take you over? Better question. Upon discovering her, why did she not reveal herself as what she truly was until you gave her what she wanted? Even now she keeps the whole truth from you… She is no typical mermaid, Darius. Her song belongs to that of a siren, slayer of the seafarers she lures in with the power of her voice… I'm sure you remember hearing it and how it grabbed your attention. Think back, Darius… Alas, I will allow you to make your own decisions regarding her, but we have a deal. Keep your end and I shall keep mine.

Darius didn't answer and instead thought about Malgormuun's words. He made a bold claim about Artemis, and backed it up with their first meeting. Darius shook his head in denial before turning back through the corridor to return to Edena. He moved briskly, filling the empty halls with nothing but the sound of his hard footsteps as he headed to Edena's dining area.

It was there that he spotted not Zorrah, but a pink-skinned humanoid with two cuved horns and the same bright yellow eyes as Zorrah. She was dressed in a white robe, appearing as more of a servant than Zorrah ever did. Another demon… Great.

Damien smiled to himself knowing the young man couldn't help but linger. It lasted maybe a few seconds, but the brief connection he felt with this stranger was unmistakable.

Identifying other wolves was not something he sought, but it was good to know what kinds of pieces were on the playing board. Lucy had informed him of a pack currently residing at the campgrounds to the west and was sure it was the same pack that also clashed with a vampire clan. Damien had noted all of this and wondered where this fellow fit in as light verbal jabs were sent his way from him. As he said the stranger said his farewell, Damien turned to him and spoke.

"Wait." His mouth had a slight upturn as he gazed at Finn. "You're new around here, huh?"

Packless too?

"I'd be careful. The town is quiet, but far from safe… unless you make the right friends of course." Damien smiled and turned back to the bar. "Right?" Damien rhetorically asked the bartender before grabbing his shot and downing its contents. He winced before his smile returned. Once he set his shot glass on the table he pointed to it. "Last one." The bartender nodded silently as she took the glass. To refill it again. She'd definitely let Rose and Kyran know they kept bad company next time she saw them.

Taco Bell? How the fuck does she keep her body so… No drifting Sean. Sean struggled to pay attention to Angel, and managed to do so with some good ol' fashioned willpower. Well, he tried his best at least. Maybe I'll let myself get experimented on in order to get... the power of sleeplessness! Damn, I'd be a fucking… shit! Stop. Drifting. Sean.

Sean sighed at himself before nodding at Angel's words in order to let her know he hadn't zoned off on her.

"Yeah… dusk." He said before turning from his teammate and walking away. He couldn't help but let a chuckle escape him. "And I always pass out on the floor!" Sean called out as he exited the track area. It was virtually a fact that Sean usually slept at his desk where he had a comfy sleeping bag staged. He had an actual bed at here, but he often complained that his living quarters were too far from both the facility's gym and his workspace.

Sean hit the locker room first to shower and change before making his way to workspace so he could slink into his sleeping back and tuck himself beneath his desk. Now you can drift, Sean. A sweet smile formed on his face.

Damien had just downed the shot of tequila before his attention was pulled from the bar and to a passerby giving he and the bartender an unconfident greeting.

"Good morning!" The bartender beamed to Finn while Damien looked upon him with amusement before giving a brief silent wave. The bartender slipped back into being slightly uncomfortable while Damien pointed into the empty shot glass in front of him

"Another…" Damien didn't even need to turn to address Finn who seemed to be paying close attention to him. "Need something?"

I can kill you if you'd like.

Damien awoke from his slumber with wide glowing yellow eyes. He already felt the excitement of today's potential prospects rush over him. Yesterday had been so eventful, that it lterally bled into the current day.

After about fifteen minutes, Damien was dressed casually in a long sleeved t-shirt, blue jeans, and a pair of blue and white Chuck Taylors. He snorted a bump of cocaine in the hotel bathroom, so despite his lack of sleep, he was wired. As he stepped out from the hotel entrance, he noticed the rainfall which caused him to frown at the sky above. It was light, but would prove to be annoying with enough time. To the mall again I guess.

Damien marched his way across the street to the mall to purchase an umbrella. He bought a cheap plain black umbrella and was out of the mall in minutes, now headed towards his true destination. Lucy was nowhere to be seen, but Damien was sure his familiar was keeping busy. Or she's keeping out of the rain… prima donna. I guess I'll have to see how Alexei's is holding up and if I can make contact with a member of the Children of the Black Moon. Xavier won't allow me to get rid of just Le Coven Éclairé. Like every other town, all witches go… As Damien approached Alexei's, he chuckled lightly to himself as he imagined Kyran's broken body left to be found in the dumpster he dropped him in.

With Alexei's also serving as an inn, it was open to serve patrons, and they served alcohol as early as 10 a.m.

"Shot of tequila. I love a good punch in the face to start things out." Damien winked at the bartender while saying the same thing he had told Kyran when he was in her place.

"Well okay!" The bartender tried to play excited, but was really judging him and his almost creepy approach. She'd keep up her smile… at least so she could get a decent tip from him.

"Hey um… I was actually looking for two of my friends that work here. Rose and Ky? Don't tell me they only work nights… I figured I'd see one of them here. Damien shrugged with a friendly smile. Because I murdered the other one!

Sean had been grateful to Angel for playing along with his jest. He was sure Angel wasn't in the best of moods but knew she was a bit of a sucker for cheesy jokes at times. That or she was just on the verge of snapping from the amount of exposure she had from them thanks to Nikolaus. Sean was much too tired to have the latter in mind.

"Save my pride?' Sean chuckled as he looked at Angel with an eyebrow raised. "Right now, I'm staring at a grown woman who is… grounded and is currently running laps like a high school athlete that was late to practice. If anything, I should be lending you some my pride." Sean had definitely chosen the right bait for tonight. Angel was the cockiest hunter on base and she wasn't afraid of a damned thing as far as he could tell. "Anyway, about the old man. I took him into holding to be questioned or whatever they do to people like him…" Sean paused for a moment as if to elude to Operation Humanity's darker activities. "He didn't have much info except for what we already knew and he wouldn't give up additional info on the vamp he was with. The only thing of worth is his high pain tolerance to silver, so I guess they'll keep him for 'further studies.'"

Sean made air quotes with his fingers and shrugged. He didn't agree with all that Operation Humanity did, but the organization took the fight to supernatural like someone emptying a whole clip into their most hated enemy. There was little mercy for the opposition, but also a lack of compassion for those who worked for them. It was something most hunters didn't need in order to go out and do what was needed. Every hunter had a deep-rooted motivation for going after the monsters of the night. Compassion could shut the fuck up and go home as far as most cared.

"What did you and Niko end up getting into?" Sean had a more serious look to him at this point. "By the way, he seems more… hmm… more social with you around. That's good for both of you, honestly." Sean said sincerely. He knew both Angel and Nikolaus had difficulties with meaningful relationships between the other hunters. Both their pasts were filled with tragedy, and Sean barely knew the half of it. If he was being honest, he was not much better with socializing with other hunters either, but a lot of people didn't even know what Nikolaus' voice sounded like or there were those who were too intimidated by Angel's presence to even think of approaching her. When those two are together, sure they bickered, but they get some real good quality personal interaction. Mr. and Mrs. Frankenstein… Mr. And Mrs. Frankenstein? God, I'm tired.

Sean gulped down the lukewarm coffee from his mug to wash down the steak and eggs he had just scarfed down for breakfast. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand before getting up from his work desk and setting out to find his wild child of a squadmate. His eyes were red from lack of sleep, but he was feeling a bit more upbeat than usual. The reason being the submission of his planned operation on the Pit nightclub. He had emailed the schematics and layout of his plans to the missions cell late last night (really early this morning) and actually got the green light on it.

Sean walked by Colonel Trotter's office and managed to catch a glance from the stern man. Not a word, just a look. Trotter was rarely an obstacle for Sean for quite a few reasons. Sean was contracted, not an experiment, and he was a damn good hunter. There were those that thought he was completely insane for the amount of hours he put into the job, but he had earned a great deal of respect from his colleagues. Speaking if which...

Sean walked up and nodded to Jacob, Angel's friend, before addressing him.

"You see where Angel went?" Sean looked as if he could go to sleep at any moment.

"She was headed for the track. You know what she got into last night?" Jacob wanted a bit of the gossip. Sean smirked before looking around to make sure no one would hear him before whispering

"Just some really inappropriate PDA. You wouldn't believe it unless you saw it. Someone apparently gave her a massive hickey last night." Jacob didn't want to believe something so stupid, but Angel's attire only helped corroborate with Sean's claim.

"Oh…" Sean started to continue on his way before turning to Jacob.

"Yeah, nothing major. She just needs to put a cold spoon on it." Sean just left the man with the false story. With that, Sean continued on, until he reached the track just in time to watch Angel begin.

"And in lane one! We have the one! The only! Huntress with the Hair of Blood! Angeeeeel 'Fast as a Vampire' Beauuuuuuumont!" Sean jested with a chuckle. He laughed a bit more than he expected due to his tiredness. His expression relaxed before he continued. "Trotter sent me an email on the new arrangement for you… I have to agree with the boss on your plan being sort of ehhh… Anyway, I want you to do it again tonight." Sean grinned almost menacingly before letting a huge yawn escape. "So tired… Just tell me that you're in so I can sleep."

Friday

Time: Late Morning
Location: Ember Grove
Interaction with: N/A

Who would have thought that Thursday would become so eventful. Newcomers made their impressions upon Ember Grove, while the locals braced themselves to the change in their patterns of life. Success and failure hosted a night that included the continued living of the strong willed and the deaths of the unfortunate.

A battle brewed between an unforseen alliance of wolves and the fanged devils that hoped to best them. Unfortunately, hope was not invited to this night. The wolves were victorious, leaving the vampires to gather and plot with their disappointed undisputed master.

The slayers of monsters may not have been satiated by their desire to undo evil or fulfill their lifelong vendettas, but their patience and preparation will allow them to take the following night by storm. Word of the red haired demoness possessing speed rivaling a vampire has spread rapidly among the ranks of even the most peaceful vampire clans in the area. Does this make her a target or the boogeyman to haunt them?

Outside of the violence, there were some somber moments that occured. Friendships began to kindle between the likely and unlikely. Not all prospered, but a bond is a bond, no matter how foul or prosperous it may be. Some may be an illusion, some could be desperation, but there are those that ring genuine.

Friday... It begins by weeping from the pain and bloodshed that occured from the previous night as a light rain washes away the blood, sweat, and tears left behind. The sun fails to poke its head through the clouds lessening its effect on the devils that despise its presence. The seemingly endless rain is accompanied by air as cool as the previous evening, but promises for a warm humid night. A night that can be enjoyed or feared by all that will experience it. The appetizer has passed, Friday is the main course. Capitalize on this day to take the night.
