Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Remi Vando had been in some shitty situations in his life and this wasn’t one of them. He admired Senator Ordo and felt honored to be on his PSD. He would do whatever it took to protect the man’s life including diving on a thermal detonator if needed. I would give my life for him, was his personal Creed while serving as a Personal Security Officer. He honestly hoped it would never come to that, but was mentally prepared in the event it should come down to it. He spent five years with the Rebel Pathfinders and saw this opportunity as an avenue for self-improvement. He had no desire to serve in government, but sought to improve his skills where it came to providing security and building his body to be a better soldier.

He was not completely interested in the contents of the meeting, but felt it necessary to hear what was going on or more specifically, where the Senator was heading. He could then research their destination as well as the route they were taking to determine what threats might possibly be along their path.

Remi kept his HL-27 blaster hidden under his coat. The weapon was small and easy to conceal. It had been a gift from Senator Ordo when he came to this detachment two years ago. A small vibro-blade was strapped to his back under his jacket as a back up, just in case he needed it. Other weapons were kept in other locations, to be used when needed. For now, he did not require an arsenal, keep it simple for close in security.

Remi spoke quietly to Garith Calman so as not to disturb the meeting. “I need to go use the ‘fresher. I’ll do a perimeter sweep while I am gone.” He left the room and headed to the Refresher in order to relieve his bladder and then walked around the outside of the briefing room. He checked the corridor outside the room and then the doors leading inside. There were people walking about, as though they belong. He did not see anything out of the ordinary and returned to the meeting room.

Name: Sasha Drokhov
Title: General Secretary of the Communist Party of Raetia; President of the People’s Republic of Raetia and Chairman of the Central Military Commission.

Description: Sasha Drokhov, 48 stands 5’8” tall (172.7 cm) and weighs 185 Lbs. (84Kg.). She has blonde hair and hazel eyes. She dresses in business suits frequently and occasionally wears business casual attire when not in the limelight; which is infrequent. Sasha loves the camera and adores the center of attention about as much as she adores herself. She believes she is a very attractive woman even if others disagree. God save those who would make a statement about her appearance.



Background: Sasha Drokhov is the daughter of Ivan Petrovich Drokhov, a former General Secretary of the Communist Party of the People’s Republic of Raetia. Sasha has no siblings and was raised with a sense of entitlement. Her nanny, Olga Krasnoff was put to death when Sasha was 28. Apparently, the woman spoke out harshly about the future General Secretary.

As a child, Sasha had the finest education in Raetian society. As the sole daughter of the General Secretary, everything was handed to her as soon as she desired it. She learned to ride a horse at age seven and ride a motorcycle at age 12. While the people of Raetia waited in long lines to purchase groceries; common in a Socialist society, not the daughter of the pinnacle of Raetian government. If the people knew what life was like inside her home, they might just throw another revolution as they had a hundred years prior.

She graduated from the University of Modesto at Port Arturo (UMPA) with an undergraduate degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in International Relations. While a student at UMPA, she was a member of the debate club and the young Communist Party on campus. She quickly ascended to the presidency of each club or endeavor she pursued.

At age 24, after six years at the University, Sasha was elected to National People’s Congress (NPC): the ultimate power of the state that supervise and elects all the other organs. She was both honored and elated at her election to the NPC. While a member of the NPC, at age 30, she was appointed to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPCSC): the legislative branch of Raetia. By this time she knew she was destined for greatness. No one was better than her. It was her will that would win out one day. She was the best in the world, at everything.

Finally, the pinnacle of her success was achieved when she was 42. After 18 years serving in government, she was elected to the highest office in the land; President of the People’s Republic of Raetia. With this elevation in status, she was elected by the party members to the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the People’s Republic of Raetia. Naturally, due to her position at the top of PRR government, she was appointed as the Chairman of the Central Military Commission, giving complete authority over the people of Raetia.

General Secretary Sasha Drokhov’s administration has been one of cleaning house and paranoia. The President of Raetia has strict orders to root out any nonbelievers in her efforts to help Raetian Republic rise to be the premier super power in the world. Anyone who expresses the least bit of criticism has been rounded up and either whisked away to a labor camp in Amurica or has been executed on the spot. Many people fear the General Secretary and this attitude has caused all Raetians to behave in a manner befitting all respectable citizens of the Republic according to President Drokhov.

Personality: Sasha Drokhov is a narcissist. In her opinion, taking care of her needs and desires is synonymous with taking care of the needs and desires of the nation. She can be cruel and condescending to those around her. In front of the cameras, Sasha appears to be loving, caring and sweet to the people of her nation. She appears to be sympathetic to whatever plight her people are enduring and may even appear concerned about those suffering outside her country, but behind the scenes, she doesn’t give a shit about anyone but herself.

I cringe if I pay more than $100 for a pair of shoes. I have a sister in law who would not bat an eye and spending $700 or $800 on a pair of shoes. She is an attractive woman and she is about 20 years younger than my brother in law, her sugar daddy.

When I was in Bosnia, we had a PSD at Division Headquarters who were hand selected by the Division Commander. These soldiers were taken from Military Police and Infantry units who had training in hand to hand combat as well as law enforcement techniques. There were eight (8) of them and they worked on shifts taking care of the Primary or any of the secondaries (ADCs or CoS) or they may have been assigned to protect high ranking visitors. But the CG also had his staff. The senator in a Star Wars RP won’t need eight (8) PS Officers nor will he require the elaborate staff, the commanding general of an infantry division would require. We have the workings of a nice little personal Staff and Security detail for our Senator from Rothana.

I need to put this out here for my own benefit, simply because things make more sense to me when there is structure. It comes from spending half my life in the military. The one slot, that should be filled, but is not, is the Senator’s Aide. This person is responsible for tracking the Senator’s calendar and keeping him briefed on what he is doing next. This could be an NPC Senator Ordo talks to from time to time. The Aide should be a younger person whom the Senator trusts completely. I would like to see a few more PSOs if possible; maybe 2 or 3 NPCs?

I find that eating other peoples cooking - mainly people that I don't know - to be a little like Russian Roulette.

Will it taste good? Do they use spices? The moments of what the hell did they put in this.

I've been married for 15+ years and with my wife for 17+ years. Several years ago, I confided a little secret with my sisters; simply because they knew what I was talking about. My mother made meals in order for my sisters and I to have a home cooked meal. There was nothing special about them. I grew up thinking my mother's cooking was delicious. Then I got married and that table was tipped upside down. During a Thanksgiving meal, my wife and I hosted, my sisters were able to sample her cooking. She is half Italian and her mother is 100% Italian. Her mother taught her everything she knows and the wife is completely awesome!!! I told my sisters, "I had no idea what home cooked meals tasted like until I got married." Her cookies are the best. We have chocolate chip, chocolate crinkles and Italian biscotti cookies on hand right now.

The People’s Republic of Raetia is a one-party state, the Communist Party of Raetia (CPR).
Raetia is located on the southeastern side of the Grancias Continent. This solitary nation takes up approsimately 20% of Grancias. The Island of Bakushima lies approximately 500 miles south of Raetia. This nation uses European naming conventions--anything from the Ural Mountains to the Portuguese coast and from the tip of the Italian Peninsula to Iceland, Scotland and the northern tip of Norway.

Economy: Raetia is an upcoming nation. It has focused on industry and economic expansion for the past fifty years. Over the past twenty years, the nation has averaged an annual growth in their GDP of 6% per year. There have been several notable years where they gained 15+% in their GDP. But they lack in technology and find they must reverse engineer stolen technology. This concept has allowed them to develop an aerospace program that places a limited number of satellites in orbit around the globe. Due to its vast size of territory, Raetia has all the necessary resources to conduct day to day business but relies on imports from foreign nations for the rare resources.
