@Byrd Man You didn't fill out the apparel area, rest of the CS looks good though. @The Survivor Remove the lightsaber and the skill that comes with it and it's good to be accepted. Finding a lightsaber in the streets seems unlikely among other things. @Hexaflexagon Shakka is accepted, love Twi'leks. Post it to the Character section please. @Morden Man Character is accepted. Post it to the Character tab please.
Overall the character cast looks solid so far, I don't know if the RP will be closed to new chars considering its status as a more open world roleplay. As said in the OP everyone can create up to three characters, don't be afraid to make more than one if you wish to.
I forgot to mention in the first post about species, I'd love to see all kinds, not all humans or human-like. Star Wars has an abundance of interesting kinds and they'd all be stuck in the underworld, pushed down there by the Imperials.
Level 3030 buzzed with noise, as it always did. The skies were steady with vehicles, there were not nearly as many as there were on the surface, but a lucky few got around the undercity this way. They were a luxury for the wealthiest. Most of the denizens walked everywhere, the streets were filled with people of all kinds, aliens, humans, criminals, gangsters, all were stuffed down together.
There has been an influx of people in 3030, ever since the Empire began and oppressed millions. Refugees and political prisoners were a common sight on the level. They, like many were victims of circumstance, and unfortunately it forced them into the underworld. To a newcomer 3030 was a frightening place, gun fire seemingly going off every few minutes somewhere in the city, brawls and sometimes shootouts on the streets, gang problems were everyone's problems.
Still, all in 3030 are happy to see another day.
The changeling stepped through the front doors of Gorro's palace. The name truly fit the building, it was massive, quite possibly the largest one in 3030 besides the abandoned factories. It was also guarded like a military base, once he set foot though the door he noticed the eyes of the 'doormen' on him. Four armored men, each clenching blaster rifles. On the ledge above was another one, the Hutt spared no expense, he was the most infamous being in 3030.
One of the guards nodded at Leru, he was part of the Gorro's Cartel, like a VIP in his palace. Another massive door was directly in front, down a hallway. An armored Trandoshan stood by the door, a blaster on his belt. He eyed the people as they stepped inside, those that did knew they were guests, they had to have 'manners', one idiotic move might land with them out the door, dead or alive, depending on how merciful Gorro felt.
The Clawdite returned the nod from the guard, then proceeded towards the door, the Trandoshan giving him the same look the guard did, which was the most friendly snarl the imposing reptilian could muster. As he entered through that door the noise finally hit him, he was in a huge room, on one side a band played upbeat music, the kind one would dance to or at least tap their foot to. His eyes asjusted to the dimmed lights which offered just enough for one to see across the throne room.
It was a practical melting pot of species inside the room. Humans, Aqualish, Twi'leks, Rodians and many more, but only one Hutt seated comfortably on his throne in the far back of the room. On each side of him were more armed guards. It was a party like atmosphere inside of Gorro's throne room, a scantily clad woman had taken to the microphone, singing in some alien tongue as the music blared. Leru could smell the different types of alcohol and (illegal) drugs being used in the room.
He didn't feel comfortable in there, so many eyes, even in his shifted form as a human male. It was a little too much for the changeling, but he was here to speak with his boss, once he received his credits he would be out of the building. As he approached the Hutt, he felt the slug's familiar eyes on him, a smile on his mucus leaking mouth.
"He is happy to see that you have returned, he trusts you have completed the mission with no complications." A robed Nautolan said to Leru in Galactic Basic as he stood in front of the Hutt. The alien was Gorro's translator, Rhis, a position the Nautolan had held for many years. He was essentially the Hutt's right hand, always beside him. Lerru was capable of speaking the Hutt's own language, but perhaps Gorro didn't feel like speaking.
"Yes, it is done." Leru replied, only saying his words as loud as needed for both the Hutt and his translator to hear them. Once the slug heard his words a smile crept onto his massive face. Lerru did good work, rarely with any issues, the Hutt liked that.
"Excellent, you will be summoned when he has another job for you," Rhis said to Leru, then tapped a device on his wrist. The payment was recieved and the changeling could quietly exit the room which was far too loud for him.
Leru bowed, then moved towards the door, raising the hood on his robe, as the music blared through the room. He wanted to head back home, meditate in silence and solitude.
This section is for accepted character sheets. Submitted sheets must first be posted on the OOC for review.
Name - Leru Zapal Species - Clawdite Gender - Male Age - 24 Occupation - Spy/Assassin for the Scarred Hutt Cartel
Appearance - In his natural form he has dark green skin with yellow eyes, sunken cheeks, a narrow nose and a small mouth. He appears reptilian but his face is human-like. Leru is not particularly tall, standing 1.75 meters. His body is skinny with hints of muscle.
As a Clawdite he is able to shapeshift into other similar shaped beings. His most common form that he shapeshifts into is as a clean shaven human male. This is the form others know him as, he rarely ever is in his natural form except when he is alone.
Apparel - His choice of clothing changes depending on his job, but in casual settings he wears conservative clothing that doesn't stick him out of a crowd. While in assassin mode he wears light armor that is easy to run in.
Weapons - Leru always carries a Penetrator MB-450 sporting blaster pistol and a vibrodagger. They are both weapons which are easy to conceal.
Equipment - His credit chip and a grappling hook are two essential items.
Skills -
His ability to shapeshift is his greatest skill, he can take on other humanoid forms, mimicking them. This extends to the ability to form hair and the appearance of clothing as long as it laid directly on the skin.
He's a solid shot with a blaster, not exceptional but not a slouch.
Leru is in great physical shape, he's a talented climber and acrobat with great athleticism.
He's a capable hacker and locksmith.
Leru is bilingual, able to speak galactic basic, Clawdite, Huttese and Twi'leki.
Flaws -
His shape-shifting has drawbacks, if he is injured then he reverts to his original form. Also reverts while in sleep or if he dies. He also receives physical pain from the actual act of changing, it gets worse with more complex forms.
He's not a fighter, close quarters combat is where he gets bullied around. Leru isn't strong physically, wrestling matches are loses for him.
Has an almost fear of revealing his true form to anyone. Changelings have a bad reputation throughout the galaxy, they are not trusted, sometimes outright feared or hated.
Like many others of his race he is extremely solitary, mistrustful and suspicious of others. He avoids social gatherings and has very few friends.
Leru avoids direct conflict. With his job he tries to remain out of sight, he's not meant to battle head on with somebody. Almost cowardly in this regard.
Personality - Leru is a solitary, near silent Clawdite. He almost never starts conversations, and when conversed his answers are often short and nervous. He avoids being with others and just tries to blend in with the crowds. He's very shy about his true form, and has no revealed it to anyone on 3030. If anyone asks, even his superiors within the Cartel, he tells them he's human.
Despite working for such an ill organization, Leru is not a bad man moral wise. He does assassin work, but only for the cartel. The targets are almost always members of other gangs, scum of the underworld. He doesn't harm innocents and avoids fights. He feels for the poorest within 3030 and would one day like to help them.
Goals - Amass enough credits to live a quiet solitary life, enough to move out of 3030 as well. If possible he wants to help his people stuck in the slums of his homeworld.
Backstory - Leru was born on the Mid Rim world of Zolan, the home of the Zolander species and his own. On the world his species was oppressed, feared by the Zolanders and forced to dwell in the slums of the planet. They were oppressed every day, Leru facing it in his youth. His family was loving, but the conditions they lived in were terrible, his parents seeked a way to get him offworld.
At the age of fifteen this hope become something real as his parents managed to smuggle him aboard a merchant ship. Leru's talents as a shapeshifter had been nurtured and he was able to masquerade as one of the crewmen on the vessel. Luckily for the Clawdite the ship returned to Coruscant, a world where he could lived in secrecy, with actual opportunities. He ended up in the Coruscant underworld, then on level 3030.
He needed a way to live, credits were the driving force behind everything in 3030. His talents as a changeling gave him a way to make money, he took up a job with the Scarred Hutt Cartel, it was an assassination of an opposing gang member. Leru put a blaster bolt into the man's back after shifting into one of his friends. The shock of actually taking another life affected him, but he rationalized it by realizing that the man was a hardened criminal.
After that he actually joined the Cartel, he found work within the group, spying on whoever his superiors wanted, assassinating who they wanted dead. He's earned some respect within the gang, he worked hard, asking for nothing but credits and to be left alone when not on mission. He secured a comfortable apartment in Cartel territory, it is a place he most often frequents.
Name - Siennviwor Species - Twi'lek Gender - Female Age - 20 Occupation - Dancer/informant for the Siren Claw Syndicate
Appearance - Siennviwor, or more simply, Sienn, is a Twi'lek of average height, standing just over 1.7 meters. Her frame is slender, though her figure is very feminine and attractive to the male eye like many others of her race. Her skin is a pink tone, her eyes brown. She also has painted eyebrows above her eyes to appear less alien, when dancing she also has other types of makeup on her.
Apparel - She wears various dancer outfits, they are seductive and light, ranging in appearance and modesty. When not dancing she wears more conservative clothing, usually leather pants, boots, and tube top with a jacket over.
Weapons - She does not carry a blaster, but she carries a knife on herself when not dancing and when dancing in dangerous surroundings.
Equipment - A credit chip.
Skills -
She's an exceptional dancer, her moves beautiful to the eye.
She possesses the usual Twi'lek charm, knows how to play men like an instrument.
She's great at hiding her intentions and is a talented liar.
Fluent in Twi'leki, Basic and Huttese.
Flaws -
Has no experience or skill with a blaster. She's never used one in combat.
Has never killed before and does not want to. The only way she could see herself doing it is if her life was at stake.
Not really the combat type, doesn't know how to fight and isn't physically strong.
Has a fear of physical pain, especially the kind that would leave marks or scars.
Her head tails (Lekku) are extremely sensitive. Pulling on them causes her intense pain and can outright knock her out if yanked hard enough.
Personality - Sienn is a cautious young Twi'lek, she has been told much of life in the undercity for her people, how many are mistreated and outright enslaved. She does not want this at all, instead being very careful with who she befriends and aligns herself with. As a dancer she just tries to not speak to much, instead letting her moves do the talking.
She is a friendly girl, one that values real friendship. She cares for those that care for her, and has no care for those that seek to use her. Sienn enjoys dancing, it is her greatest talent and her way of making a living.
Goals - Sienn wishes to survive 3030, making enough credits to live a worry free life. She would also like to gain some respect within the Sirens, as she is only just a recruit within the group. She also wants to help the organization grow, as she supports all its ideals and goals.
Backstory - Sienn was born on the Twi'lek homeworld, ten years before the Clone Wars. Her childhood was not that different from other of her species, her family didn't have very much money and could afford few luxuries. Her mother, like Sienn would one day become, was a talented dancer. Many moments in her youth were spent with her mother being taught how to dance.
During the Clone Wars, Ryloth was captured by the Separatists, her race fought back against the invaders, her father was one of those that fought with the freedom fighters. He died in combat, leaving Sienn and her mother shocked and saddened. The Separatist forces were not kind during their occupation, they mistreated and stole from her people's villages, even used civilians as living shields.
The Republic would retake the planet, though the beautiful world was hit hard by the fighting. Many had died, Sienn and her mother hid for days as the fighting went on. After the Clone Wars ended, the Empire arose, Sienn was just reaching maturity for a Twi'lek. Her mother sold her to a wealthy merchant, seeing it as a way to give her daughter something better than what was to be had on the Ryloth.
The merchant was a wealthy man, Sienn was to be wed to him, he brought her to Coruscant on his yacht. She had seen how the man actually was, cruel and greedy, he was not someone she wanted to marry, over twice her age as well.
While in the streets of Coruscant, just before their marriage, Sienn ran away, she just ran as far as she could from him, escaping into the endless alleys of the surface of Coruscant. He never managed to track her down, though she was intensely paranoid that he would, he was a powerful man with connections on Coruscant.
She managed to find a way into the underworld, while it was not her first choice, it was a safe one. She stowed away on a ship that was heading for 3030. As soon as it landed she dashed into the undercity, losing herself amongst the crowds. Her new surroundings reminded her of her home world, people living in bad conditions, crime everywhere.
She had to scavenge, beg and steal for her first weeks in 3030, then she turned to dancing. While walking the long roads of thirty thirty she passed by a gentleman's club. As she went past the front entrance someone working for the club approached her, they were searching for new talent to dance for the club. While not certain about the idea, it was a way to make money and use her talents, so she took the job.
Another dancer in the club was a member of the Sirens. After befriending the woman, Sienn too would join the gang. She saw it as a way to protect herself, they were a group with only positive intentions to her. Since then she has left her job in the club, having become more of a freelance dancer in 3030, also an informant for the Sirens.
It has been ten years since the rise of the evil GALACTIC EMPIRE. The galaxy lays within its crushing fist with no opposition.
The capital world of CORUSCANT is the center of the galaxy, the wealthy and powerful thriving on the surface. The filth of the planet have been pushed underground, into the UNDERWORLD, a place rampant with crime and sin.
As the Imperials rule, the people suffer. Those unlucky enough to find themselves in in the undercity of the capital must fight to survive every single day....
The Underworld is a crime-ridden place, criminals escape to it, those looking to escape that are of the non criminal variety also escape to it. It is a place where one can get lost with the seedy crowds. Illegal merchandise of all kinds can be found within it, prostitution one of the most common occupations. Through the massive ventalation shaft one can enter the underlevels of the capital.
Immoral gangs infest the underworld, youths fall victim to their clutches. The promise of riches and a getaway from their miserable lives too much for many. There is no real police force, they only patrol the uppermost levels and the surface. Vigilante and mob justice is common for many areas areas. It gets worse as one goes down, with each level the light from above grows more dim. On the lowest of levels reside mutant monstrosities. May you never fall that far down.
Not all people within the undeworld are bad, many have just been thrust into a terrible situation by uncontrollable consequences. Runaways, political criminals, former slaves, or just those with no credits are many you will find in the underground. Bounty hunters and assassins are a common sight, there is money to made by shaking the right hands and killing the right people. Life can be made for those that truly wish to make it.
Welcome to level 3030, one of the most populated in the Underworld with just over one million denizens dwelling within its artificial lights. Just a hint, stay within the lit borders.
Level 3030 is a sprawling landscape, packed with people and buildings. Due to its depth there is very little actual light that reaches it. The city is filled with man made light, the air, while not healthy for you will not kill you like some of the lower levels. A huge vent sits far above it, this is the way both in and out. Traffic has decreased since the Empire took over, but people still come and go. The population is filled with society's rejects, it's a haven for criminals and those that don't want to be found. A land of endless sin, 3030 contains all manner of entertainment, fight clubs, gentleman clubs, casinos, dive bars, brothels, these are just some of the sights within the undercity.
The seemingly endless streets are filled with all manners of drunks, addicts, bums and whores. Many of the alleyways seem to go nowhere, and many one does not want to venture down. Humans are the most populous species, but that claim seems to drop every year as more aliens are forced into the underground by the xenophobic Empire. 3030 is extremely humid, air conditioning but a privilege to a lucky few. While it is a bearable, one will often find themselves drenched in sweat just from taking a stroll.
There is no police force, 3030 is literally run by the gangs.
Factions:
3030 contains some notable factions, collections of the scum unlucky enough to dwell within its massive undercity. There are four major criminal organizations, there are many other smaller ones, but the immoral four 'run' 3030.
Scarred Hutt Cartel - A strange name for a gang, but its fitting as the leader, Gorro, is a sickening hutt. He is not to be underestimated as his organization are the most powerful within 3030. They have total control of the northern part of the undercity, claiming it as their territory. They have the most members and the most credits. Their enforcers are some of the most feared within the underworld, a notable rumor being that one of them is a dark Jedi, though this has not been confirmed.
Gorro is similar in appearance to many other of his species, a large slug like creature, his skin a greenish brown, eyes a twisted yellow. His distinguishing feature being a large scar which runs across his left eye, the mark of a failed assassination attempt. The hutt pays well and respects loyalty, though he is not to be trusted. One does not amass such a criminal organization without stabbing a few backs. His 'palace' is in the most northern part of the undercity, it is filled with his people, fiercely loyal to Gorro the Hutt. It shows how powerful Gorro is, and his group is that their base is a well known location. Everyone else is too scared to assault it. It is a practical fortress with constant guard patrols ensuring it remains the jewel of the undercity.
The Scarred Hutts are always looking for new blood, but one must prove themselves worthy to join. Gorro pays well to those that earn it.
Blackened Stars - The second largest criminal gang within 3030, they are fierce rivals of the Cartel, warfare between the two an all too common sight. They control a large chunk of the southern undercity, their member total near the Cartel's. The Stars have their hands within all manner of crime, though they excel at slavery, something commonly seen in 3030. They do not discriminate with their membership, the only standard being that one has to have survived initiation.
The Stars leadership is different from the others, instead of one central leader there is two. They are a twin brother and sister, Jenala and Jondevo. If the sickening rumors are to be believed, then their relationship is incestuous. Both of them are mysterious individuals, difficult to track but never far apart from one another.
The Pure Hand Syndicate - The Pures, as they are nicknamed, are the most brutal gang. They practice extreme xenophobia, humans are the only ones allowed within their organization. Aliens are almost always their targets. They control an area to the west, it is not a place a non human wishes to find themselves in. Lynchings, beatings and burnings are just some of the things they do to their enemies, which are anyone who isn't a human. They don't seem to focus on credits as much as the other gangs, they're more of a cult than anything else. The other three major criminal groups hate the Pures.
Their leader is of course, a human. Serg Beccou is his name, he is a vicious, psychotic fellow. Serg is located within Hand territory, though his exact whereabouts are not known. He has been seen filming messages 'urging' non humans within the underworld to leave, these messages often capped by a murder or scene of torture. He is an incredibly difficult man to track down, everytime his location is determined it changes. He is the most wanted man in 3030 and knows it. Every other gang has a bounty on his shaved head.
The Pures accept only humans and work with only humans. They are always looking for humans to join their cause.
Siren Claw Syndicate - The Pures are an all human group, the Sirens are an all female one. That is the only similarity, they differ from the other gangs in that they don't seek total control of crime within 3030, instead they claim their goals are noble ones, the liberation of protection of females in the undercity. Their members are often former prostitutes, slaves and dancers that have been given a place within the Sirens. Many still work these jobs, though under very different conditions since aligning with the Sirens. Males are not hated or targeted by the organization, they are just not allowed in, the all female rule is one that creates solidarity. They hold claim to an area to the south west, as they are allies with the Hutt Cartel.
Their leader is a Twi'lek, Inanjoma, she is as deadly as she is beautiful, her past mostly mystery, though she was once a slave. Inajoma is not to be underestimated, she is as ruthless as any of the other gang leaders, though her charm may not give off that feel.
Females of any race may join the Siren ranks, in it they will find a unique sisterhood amongst its members.
The Galactic Empire -
Ask the most paranoid people in 3030 and they will try to convince you that the Empire is undercity. While no proof has been found, the rumors do persist that the Empire is watching. If they indeed are in 3030 then their business is not known, nor where or how to find them. But be assured, they'll find you, which more than likely is not something you want. You will not find stormtroopers in 3030, only shadows.
Rules
1. Mature content is to be expected, this is not your father's Star Wars. Swearing is cool, so is gore and violence. Pretty much anything else allowed by the site's rules. Fade to black any sexual scenes. 2. No godmodding, metagaming, etc. Just because you know something OOC does not mean your char does in the IC. 3. Original characters only. No Mary Sues, I love, love flawed characters. No limit to the number of characters you can have, just make sure you can handle multiple if you go that route. 4. The RP is open world focused, you char controls their lives, I will be running my own char as well as NPCs. Also will have my hand in other player's plots. 5. Don't write in first person, also this is an advanced RP, so those standards. 6. Character death is a possibility. The underworld is savage, be careful. 7. Please stay active, if I don't hear from you for a week I assume you dropped and your character is forfeit. 8. I as the GM, and my co-GM (if there is one) have word as law. I can deny characters for whatever reason.
