◇ b a c k g r o u n d ◇

The masquerade is a luxurious event held in the royal city of Afterclaw. It lasts a week (or longer) and is filled to the brim with mysterious types. There are mystical and mysterious creatures who hide beneath their glittering masks threading through the crowd, sampling the bubbling flutes of pleasing drinks. There are royals, rich folk who are sought out to find their loved ones, no matter the appearance or the class. And last but not least, there are thieves and criminals, slipping a hand into a pocket here and a pocket there. Intent on robbing the rich of their wealth and the mystical of their powers. It is the ideal time to go beneath a facade and be the person you want to be, at least for a few nights. The masquerade is a welcoming mass of intrigue and danger that many are willing to fall into.

A grand palace in the center of the city. It glows radiant with wealth and has countless labyrinth like corridors and lavish wide rooms. You never know what you can find in here.

A guard at the front checks for weapons, though it is concealed well enough they may let it pass, but that is a dangerous risk to take. Present your invitation, all families are gifted with several invitations and enter the party. You can always fake an invitation though, and many criminals who enter do. Faulty security.

Juliette was so involved in her dancing that when she heard the screech of tires as a car parked nearby and a few notes from the radio she paid it no heed. Her body moved along with the music as she travelled down the pavement. A pause in the music as it came to stop at it's rewind made her look to the side. There was someone dancing along to his own music, dorky moves at their finest. Colton. She tapped at her IPod to stop it and unplugged her earphones.
"Hey."She says, stopping next to him (or more specifically his car)
"And by the way, you won the dance contest, those were the cutest moves I've ever saw." Juliette smiles at Colton. They used to be in a lot of each other's classes but never really talked that much. He was one of her friends and was nice enough, plus the undeniable fact that he was quite hot. Both in a bad boy and a unique, dorkyish way.

The figure screams at the butler right away once he finishes his sentence.
"LOCK THE DOORS YOU ASS! I TOLD YOU TO!" She runs to behind the bar counter and instantly ducks behind it, cradling a small blade stained with dried blood to her chest and bowing her head.

Kellie startled when Jack started screaming and turned to look at Crazy on the floor, blood gushing out of the bullet wound.
"Shit." She cursed under her breath, sniping a few Blues and Yellows and watching them groan and grab onto their limbs. Kellie runs over to Crazy and kneels down next to him. she takes out some tweezers in her first aid kit and quickly and precisely take out the bullet.
"You need some stitches." She comments, taking a needle and some thread. She looks around her at the Blues and Yellows running around haphazardly and the Reds trying to gun them down. She threads the thread into the needle and starts to stitch together the wound as fast as she can. She stops halfway through and picks up her M16, shooting some people close to her and continues. When she finishes she screams into Crazy's ear.
"GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE!" She starts running.
