Frankly, I would love it if Abyss Actors became an actual thing. Sadly, seems like an archetype that'll be confined to the anime and maybe the games.

Amelia frowned, understanding where her adoptive mother was coming from.
"I'm sure we can leave it alone. Phlegethon is more then strong enough to handle any opponent, or several. I feel I should be there as, more or less, his master." Amelia said before turning to Sam. Seeing the frightened state her sister was in, Amelia did the first thing that came to mind, which was move over to the small girl and give her a hug. "I'm sorry Sammy. Did Phleg scare you?"

"Too slow." Joshua said under his breathe, quickly sheathing his sword. As the barrage approached, he waited until it was almost to him before drawing his blade, knocking aside each projectile in a series of swift and deft strikes. He easily blocked the beast's arm, being pushed a bit to the side but otherwise holding his ground. Joshua's expression was one of such intense anger, if the beast had a brain it would have half a mind to flee right there. Switching swords to his flame one, Joshua quickly had the blade's temperature rise to the point the air around the blade began wavering. Pointing the weapon at the beast, Joshua unleashed a torrent of flames at it, their temperature as intense as the blade's.

Phlegethon

Phlegethon looked around at the battle. It would seem his quarry was already engaged and occupied. While he would love to engage the heathen himself, he figured that the ones that where fighting him deserved a chance to try and deal some damage. Looking up at the hand of water, the spirit didn't move at it came crashing down on top of him. after it was done, he looked down at Manami.
"Is that little drizzle all you can muster after the sacrifices that where made to give you that magic, Manami Fuyu?" He asked as he began walking towards her, the few drops of water on his armor quickly evaporating. "You soil their names like this? You murdered all those in your church in order to do this? Such a waste of their lives."

Joshua winced and covered his ears at the sheer volume of announcer's mic. Seriously, no one here seemed to know what the terms 'volume control' and 'peace and quiet' meant around here. As he recovered, he heard another girl explain pretty much the entire reason they were here. Massaging his ear a bit, he turned towards Melchior.
"I'm here for pretty much the same reason. However, I want to know what the competition is comprised off. What will we be doing exactly? Is it like a parkour course or is more like a gymnastics competition, with routines, beams, and whatever else they might think of?" Joshua said before looking over at the basketball game. He had never really played, and he figured he would be more of a burden then a help. "I think I'll pass on joining the game. But thanks for the offer."

Amelia Averyonna

Having found a small meal for herself, Amelia found somewhere to sit and eat before pulling out her deck. She knew she would need to begin improving it soon. Looking towards the card shop, she debated on whether to go now or get more points. After several minutes of debate, she decided to play one more match and get points, regardless of how many, before she bought some cards.

Joshua didn't bother to keep too much track on what was going on. More people showed up and the whole scenario was dissolving into a sort of chaos. Seeing as how the kid, apparently named Cody according to his companion, that rushed recklessly before was under control and under the watch of another mage. Not waiting for the others, he moved over to Amaya's side and was there when Nidhogg decided it would be a good idea to attack her. He slashed the skulls in half as they made their move but could do nothing as both of them where dragged underground. Seeing the beast before them, he could only think one thought.
"Well, shit."

Meanwhile

"Well, some are harder then others but I suppose..." Amelia began before a red flame appeared by the table.

"My lady, I need to take care of some business. I have sensed a necromancer and confirmed the presence of a powerful undead in the town. I will not let this one slip past like the Dullahan." the voice of Phlegethon said

"Where. I'm coming too." Amelia said, standing up. She wasn't one to get easily riled over things but she hated the idea of Necromancers. They disrespected the dead and forcefully used their spirits or desecrated their bodies, both of which where acts she found unforgivable.

"Your mother should track the whereabouts of those in danger. She tends to be rather knowledgeable on such things." Phlegethon said before vanishing.

Back at the Battle

Phlegethon, Rider of War, Servant to Thanatos, God of Death

It took Phlegethon seconds to arrive on the scene. He made his entrance in style, crashing into the dome that surrounded James and Cody. The armored spirits turned towards the undead mage and moved forward.
"Nidhogg. It would seem you are overdue for your damnation." The spirit said while draining all the necrotic energy in the surrounding area, whether it be in use or not. It was obvious this one was not here to negotiate. It was here to simply kill the man it had addressed and a sword appeared in it's hand to help drive this point home.
