@Stekkmen sorry for the delay, I'm having some computer trouble at the moment. I'll try and post something tomorrow.
Well, that had been… a lot easier than he had expected, honestly. By the time he had finished practising two new messages had appeared in Oberon’s mind; the first was an upgraded version of his magical analysis skill, which meant he was going to have to take a look at his spells again later and see if he could find out anything useful. The description for the skill also suggested that the ability could be used to analyse things other than spells, such as creatures or materials if they were magically inclined; this was something he already could have guessed from the way it had analysed Mourningstar last night, but it was something he was going to have to remember so that he could experiment with it later.

What was interesting was that the skill had increased in level despite the fact that he wasn’t using it to observe anything new. Maybe it had been passively active the entire time he was working on his new skill, which would have accounted for its fast growth and might have had something to do with the fast development of the new spell. This also suggested that actually thinking about what you were analysing was better for the skill’s growth than just looking at things and seeing what the skill told you.

The second message was a new skill, Mana Shot, which sounded an awful lot like the magic missile he had seen Wisps firing off and exactly like what he was looking for. He now had a basic offensive spell and something he could use as a jumping off point for much more experimentation later. In fact, there was something he wanted to try right now.

Oberon was broken out of his musings as Mourningstar spoke again, this time to suggest that they head towards a large bonfire where a lot of creatures gathered in order to hunt. Putting aside the fact that killing and eating creature that might resemble one of their group members made him extraordinarily queasy, there was something else about this plan that bothered him. “Shouldn’t we pick something a little more isolated to attack? We’re looking for breakfast, not trying to start a war. We can check out the bonfire later, it sounds interesting and we might find others like us, but we shouldn’t push our luck trying to attack a whole gathering like that.”

Turning back to his experimentation, Oberon raised his hands again and held them slightly apart. “Anyway, let’s see what the others think.”

He was interested to see if he could cast a Shield on a Mana Shot before firing it and if the magical enhancement would do anything to strengthen the spell. He formed another Mana Shot between his hands, the act being a lot easier now that he had the skill to draw on, and just before the moment he felt it would leap from his fingers he tried to quickly cast a Shield spell on the ball of magic.
Jacob, or maybe he should start thinking of himself as ‘Oberon’ slowly came around to consciousness. He felt groggy and lethargic, like he had been asleep for far too long, and when he looked around their little save he saw that he was indeed the last one to awaken. He also saw that their little cave was not so little anymore; it appeared that Digbie had been working away industriously to expand their living space while he was still sleeping.

Leaving the Goblin to his work Oberon walked out into the slightly large space of the crevice, where Mourningstar was once again working with her mana to create something; her efforts seemed to be producing some improved results compared to yesterday as he could see that whatever she was making had a more defined shape this time around. Whatever it was though it didn’t seem to be a new spell just yet, though his Magical Analysis did show that she had created a new skill called Mana Shape.

It seemed like everyone was working on something and it made him feel anxious. He had been practising like that yesterday, up until the Slime had attacked him and everyone showed up and he’d kind of lost track of things. It was probably time for him to start working on something himself and right now he couldn’t think of a better place to start than by trying to copy what Mourningstar was working on.

Sitting down on the ground outside their little cave within a cave, Oberon held his hands out in front of him and started to focus. He tried to bring forth some of his magical power, but without putting that power into one of his two spells; neither of his spells were quite like the magic missiles he had seen the Wisps use. Neither Minor Heal nor Shield they didn’t work by projecting something at the target, they just kind of did their thing without him ever really seeing the mana; an instant cast time. It meant he didn’t really have any basis to work with for this spell or anything like what he wanted to do, which was basically to create a ranged projectile like the Wisps had so he wouldn’t be completely helpless should he end up fighting something alone.

He wanted to start by just producing some mana first, shaping it into a ball, and then throwing that ball at something. After that, he had a couple of ideas.

Eventually, Mourningstar stopped practising and announced that they should find some food. Oberon stood, though he didn’t stop his own practise and turned back to shout into the small cave behind him. “Hey, Digbie. We’re going to go find some food.”

@Skinner35 having some computer trouble at the moment. I'll try and post in the next couple days but if you wanted to treat me as absent that is fine with me.
@CollectorOfMyst Actually, I take back what I said. Every role seems more or less even right about now.
@CollectorOfMyst We definitely have a lot of Lizards. I believe Pixies and Goblins are the least abundant right now, followed by Slimes; I'm not really sure how many Wisps we have running around right now.
@Squirrel98

Seems like there is plenty of interest. Are you still going forward with this RP?

Choosing not to respond to the comment about trusting the cops, Jeremy opted just to give his name. “Uh, Jeremy. Nice to meet you.” Taking a seat on the table across the aisle from Ryan and the others he began to eat his meal.

He jumped when someone suddenly brought their tray down on the table next to him with a clack and took a seat. Jeremy turned to find himself seated next to a dark haired man with glasses, a few years older than himself by the looks of him; he didn’t exactly look like the hardened criminal type but for some reason he was giving a withering look to everyone around him.

Well, he wasn’t going to make many friends with that kind of attitude. In fact if he kept talking to people like that he might find his time here coming to an abrupt end even before the month was over. Although, that being said, maybe things wouldn’t come to that; he couldn’t help but noticed that things seemed a lot more… subdued here compared to his last prison. Maybe that had something to do with all the heavily armed guards or maybe if had something to do with those ‘experiments’ this place did. Whatever the reason it didn’t do much to help the bad feeling he had about this place.

And there he goes again. Jeremy seriously considered just getting up and leaving as the guy next to him started mouthing off at another group of people, interrupting a conversation they were having. Regardless of what kind of atmosphere this place had he was beginning to get the feeling that it wasn’t going to be smart to let himself be associated with this guy.

More than that, all this talk about why they were here was beginning to wear on his nerves and having some asshole shouting up a storm next to him wasn’t helping. “Will you shut up? There’s no need to shout loud enough for everyone to hear you.”

Turning his head to take in all of the people who were now staring at him, Jeremy finally lost his patience and began to say out loud something that had been bothering him all last night and on the journey here as well. “We were pulled out of prison for this right? We’re all death row or life timers aren’t we? That means we have one thing in common; we’re expendable.”

Jeremy turned to the other table, the one with Ryan and the others. “You guys have been here for a while right? So let me ask you a question. We’re here for science experiments right? That’s what the file said that I had to sign to come here. Well what the hell do a bunch of inmates know about science? I’m not gonna be any help in a lab, wearing a white coat and mixing beakers. So there’s only one reason I can think of for us being here. We’re lab rats.”

[xXShadlesXx]: Yeah, since you mention it, has anyone else noticed that this new group is a little… unique?
[xXShadlesXx]: We have a mad doctor, a guy who tried to steal a nuke and a mob boss
[xXShadlesXx]: The drink driver is the only normal guy there
The pre-flight checks were mostly complete when someone finally responded to his communication; he was just giving the rockets a test fire when he heard it. Ren didn’t particularly care one way or another if anyone decided to join him on this mission, a little help carrying to load wouldn’t go amiss but he didn’t want to have to split the glory too much. Unfortunately this message wasn’t anything to do with that, instead it was just some rookie trying to convince him to join the other hunt. Ren could only shake his head as he listened to the panic in their voice.

Well, if this other pilot wanted to help make this hunt seem more deadly and dangerous than it was they were welcome to. “I’m not here to have fun kid. You just worry about your own hunt and I’ll worry about mine.”

Ren eased off of the rockets as he ended their test firing. Everything seemed to be in order and he was ready to go; he double checked the map to confirm his course and placed his helmet on his head, locking it in place to create an airtight seal with his suit. “This is Red Imperial, launching now.”
After only a few uses of Minor Heal Jacob could feel the pain in his head subside and at the same time a ringing noise that he hadn’t even noticed was there disappeared. With a sigh of relief he let his arms fall to his sides, glad that he could now think straight again. Unfortunately it was unclear if his efforts had made any difference at all or if the migraine had simply been short lived; whatever the case, the experience was enough to deter him from trying anything like that again for the time being.

"Y'alright, Pixieboi?"

Looking up, Jacob could see the head of a Goblin sticking out of the crevice above. “Yeah… I’m okay.” Picking himself up, Jacob took a moment to make sure that this was actually the case; he still felt a little lightheaded and his stomach wasn’t entirely settled, but the pain at least seemed to be completely gone. Reaching out to the cluster of crystals beside him he broke off another small piece and absorbed it to restore the mana he had used and then broke off a few more pieces to take with him, leaving a rather diminished looking crystal behind.

You have used a Mana Crystal. MP is fully restored.
3 Mana Crystals have been added to your Inventory.
System:Oberon

Flapping his wings Jacob ascended back to the crevice and stepped inside. Once there he found both Digbie and Mourningstar alongside a new arrival, a lizard, who presumably was a friend given how nobody seemed to be trying to kill each other? Catching the tail end of the Wisp’s speech, Jacob went over to the wall of the crevice and slid down into a seated position at its base. At the mention of introductions, Jacob realised he had forgotten to give his name before.

“Oh, you can call me… Oberon… I guess. If we’re using fake names.”

Mourningstar seemed to be trying to do something with the body of another Wisp on the ground, probably the one she had been fighting earlier. After a few moments of staring she then began to try and do… something with mana. Jacob watched closely, trying to figure out what exactly the Wisp was trying to do; was it some kind of spell he hadn’t seen before? Somehow he didn’t think it was. Up until now he had only seen Wisps fire small magical bolts at things, so he was kind of curious to see what, if anything, else they could do.

“Hey, what are you trying to do?”
