"Hey, you know that a giant ice block in the middle of the city is way more conspicuous than a construction site accident, right?" Black Shot said in a nonchalant voice as her cold partner dragged her away from the fight just as things were about to get fun. "Anyway, she was the one that began it, with that talk about punishing evil and all that sappy nonsense. You wanted me to sit around and do nothing while a newbie like that tried to trash-talked me?"
Knowing that none of her words would dissuade Kanbaru from her course of action, plus they were way too far away to continue the fight now, Black Shot crossed her arms and puffed her cheeks in a sulky manner as she made herself comfortable on her partner's vehicle. "Anyway, are you here because of the Boss or something like that? You can't expect me to believe that you are worried about this bunch of small fish," she said while flinging more of her black daggers at a group of Nightmares that were right in their way.
Meanwhile, Getsuga was left alone to fend off against a wave of Nightmares crawling towards her like moths attracted to a flame. What would be of her fate was left to be seen. That is if anyone cared to look for her while thunder and moonlight danced through the abandoned city streets protecting the few people that were around the downtown streets at such a late hour.
"Aren't you a bit too nonchalant for someone that claims to not even know where the closest town is?" Aria replied to the overdressed boy just as a group of what she assumed to be this kingdom's knights approached them.
"That's what I was trying to explain to them," she said when the girl that seemed to be the leader of the knights' patrol mentioned that goblins have been sighted nearby. "By the way, I'm Arianna Aquarian, a story collector and knight errant. You can call me Aria if you so wish," Aria added, lowering her hood and moving her cloak aside to reveal her sword.
The time for introductions would soon be cut short by what felt like an earthquake at first only to turn out be a veritable goblin warband charging at their direction.
"I knew that the people in the previous village said that there were goblins around, but... isn't this too much of an overkill?" Aria complained in a joking tone just as the boy drew his instrument and cast a debilitating spell on the goblins. "I'd love to hear an explanation for that too, but I guess that it can wait until we are done here," she added before singing a short verse of her own. With the following swing of her sword, a strong gust of wind hit the front row of the goblin's band, knocking them back with the force of a hammer blow.
"Even if we can stall them, their numbers are too great. What do you say, are we going to fight or retreat, milady Knight?" Aria asked the other girl that looked quite a lot like herself wearing clothes with an inverse color scheme.
@vancexentan Still poking around the water for potential can and can't do, so would a Guardian Spirit be okay in a master sheet? They wouldn't be able to easily manifest themselves (even for short periods) into material form, they'd just serve as a spiritual medium for my Master to base his magecraft around.
This came from me planning on making an Eastern magus who focuses more on the spiritual side as they do. Just wanted to toss the idea forward and getting your thoughts before digging into it~
It isn't in canon, to my limited knowledge, but if you can try to make it work I'll hear you out.
Actually, it's in canon, but just something that a modern magus would have extreme difficult to do since you are basically trying to emulate how Geronimo works, if you go down this road.
Even with several nerfs, it may be something outside of the grasp of modern magecraft.
Edit: By the way, I've been taking a look at this and considering an idea. If I can get something done. I just wanted to point that missing detail while I was passing.
Well, vantage point, open space, reflective surfaces... Massive ball of lasers ultimate. Boom.
Nightmares would never see that one coming cause they have no sense of terrain tactics or formation.
I don't see a problem with this. You guys should take notice, however, that there are quite a bit more Nightmares than you may think, even with their numbers thinning by the hour.
Also, since there's another light magical girl around, Mari won't bait as much of em critters as she thinks she will. They are more or less evenly split between her and Luna.
I may have some extra time this weekend, I wonder if it's ok for me to post again? Because if things as they are, we will keep bouncing between Seyrun and Nadia.
Watching the others' behavior made Nanoha sight. She imagined that it wouldn't be that easy to coordinate anything with them since big egos were apparently a common trait among this group. Still, the information she gathered didn't dissuade her from the objectives she had in mind. In fact, this was better than Nanoha could expect.
"Miss Yakumo challenged us to a match first. I don't think that what happened will affect her disposition towards us. Denying her would probably have been worse," Nanoha said, replying to Minami's stare. "If we can find her again, I'm sure that we will be able to get our feelings across. No matter the cost. Right, Raising Heart?" She asked her device, which chimed in, asserting Nanoha's words.
"Anyway, if you want to know what happened over here, I can send you a copy of the mission report. Would it be possible to request something similar out of your side? It doesn't need to be a detailed report, but anything that can help with intelligence gathering would be very appreciated," Nanoha replied to Leonardo's question, as Raising Heart projected a copy of her mission report at a split screen beside the video conference monitor.
METEORA ÖSTERREICH
"I agree with Miss Yuyuko in that it seems like Miss Yukari, as well as Altair, wouldn't be doing this without a reason," Meteora said once she had the opportunity to speak again. "Altair's motivation for taking part in this incident is a mystery. She already got all of her wishes fulfilled by the end of our story, there's nothing other than Shimazaki Setsuna that could goad her into action. The only way to find it would be to ask her directly, which is the same for Miss Yukari, I think."
"Anyway, I don't agree with your plans, Mister Sharpton. In this situation, withholding information would be a disadvantage for us. Altair's main source of power is the internet. If we begin to spread rumors concerning our plans through services like 3chan and Dwitter, I'm sure that she'll catch wind of them pretty fast. She'll obviously know it's a trap but knowing her, Altair will show up in the marked places either way. Furthermore, if we decide to use encrypted means, she'll still find her way to the information. There's no denying that, when it comes to weaponizing social media, no one is better than Altair."
"In fact, I've been doing this for a while now. She should be aware of a pretty good deal of what happened in the past few hours as well as a plan to set up a 'teleportation rig' linking several crisis management organizations throughout the world." Meteora concluded her long-winded exposition flashing her phone's screen to the to hers, showing several posts in many social media outlets, including pictures she took, usage of sensationalist hashtags, and a gratuitous amount of vitriol aimed at Altair.
Yatogami Tohka
"Huh, what's happening here?" Tohka said as a giant wolf and a biker girl run past her while she tried to get a snack out of the machine only to notice that it refused to take her money for some reason.
"Hey, why are you doing this? I just want something to eat," she added while shaking the machine. However, no matter how much Tohka tried to get something out of it without using violence, her efforts would be in vain, given that the machine's lights were turned off, obviously because of the lack of power supply to this partially ruined sector of the city.
• Name: Linea Milsteen • Age: 15 years • Gender: Female • Race: Human
Height: 149 cm | Weight: 42 kg
• Personality: Linea is like a cat, always trying to save her energy, but able to burst into action all of a sudden when needed, especially when said action involves mental challenges, which she's very fond of. In addition to that, Linea always speaks in a low, almost deadpan—or perhaps drowsy— sounding voice, which makes a lot of her comments and remarks come out as snarky, despite that not being her intention... some times. When it comes to personal interests and hobbies, Linea has her sights set for a few things: books, adventuring, magic, and first of all, her sister. Linea is also very competent in other areas, like cooking, but it's not like she would rather spend time in the kitchen than in a library. Unless, of course, she's cooking for her sister. Just don't ask her to do anything involving physical effort. Mages have the physical prowess of a wet noodle, after all. • Brief Backstory: Both Linea and her two-years-older sister Sienna grew up at a church-sponsored countryside orphanage, after losing their parents at an early age. Despite what may be common thinking in relation to the lives of orphans, both of them never had any specific trauma or faced anymore hardships than other children of comparable age and social standing. In fact, the single Mayonite nuns that ran the old orphanage always treated the children well and, despite the occasional bullies, all the children where taught to at the very least be polite towards one another, even if they didn't want to make friends. As the two of them slowly came of age, and saw their older friends and acquaintances leave the place they began to call home, the siblings grew aware that they too would soon have to leave it behind, at least partially. Both joined a magic college and began taking lessons in the arcane arts. However, while it became clear that both had a natural knack for the Arts, Sienna's brash personality made her seek a bit of "side training" with an explorers guild. Both sisters, one being an up-and-coming mage apprentice and the other what may as well be called a spellthief, took a life of adventuring together, being more experienced in dungeoneering and similar tasks than most people with the double of their age. This path ultimately culminated with Linea receiving a recommendation letter from her tutor, pushing her to join the prestigious Iron Rose Knights as a trainee magic adviser. Whether or not Sienna manages to get a similar recommendation coming from her guild, Linea is sure that it's just a matter of time before the two of them are working together again. • Equipment: Linea's main noteworthy possessions consist of her grimoire, a crystal-tipped staff and spellcrafting tools and catalysts. She also always carries around a couple of journals and textbooks to assist in note-keeping as well as translation and decryption works, in case she comes across any mysterious source of information. • Skills: Despite still being an apprentice mage, Linea is quite capable in the spellcrafting arts, possessing knowledge of a good number of general purpose spells, that range from offensive to supportive in nature. Aside from her magic knowledge, Linea is also very good at gathering information, through means like research, translation and decryption of ancient texts. Despite physical work not being her forte, Linea quite capable of taking care of herself in explorations or similar situations. However, she'll tire out pretty fast if she needs to do any form of prolonged effort, like rope climbing and running. Nothing is stronger than the links between true family...
So, here's my idea. Depending on how things go, I may do a CS for her sister as well:
