@Buddha Actually I am already on that. I wanted to put together a "Welcome to the forum" guide. I have it partially written but it has a way to go. I was hoping to submit it to the articles and guides as a general place and then to the mods for review. Figured since I do guides and such already for the hell of it I might as well. They have so much on their plates already figured it wouldn't hurt. It doesn't change any of the rules but it just puts them all in one place plus points out how to use the forum, where to go for answers, who to pm and when for problems, as well as a list of glitches on the forum new comers should know about. (Things like saving a post incase the forum times out and knowing that adding in an @mention to an edited post won't notify people.)

@ONL Well that's okay. Peter thinks Haakon is a jerk who puts lives in danger and makes them relive horrors just for a dollar. LOL So at least they are on the same page. (Granted Haakon hasn't done anything to disprove that that is the case in IC so it's a logical conclusion :P)

One thing I would like to see on the forum is a single place to find all the rules and such for the forum, with a bit more explanation put into them so they aren't such a "gray area" - While I was putting together the Articles and Guides Index I found I was having to hop all over the place to find the rule postings on the forum and some of them were even broken links. I haven't added them all yet. (And some are the same ones with just a paragraph added to the end to make them different.) - It can make things a bit confusing for new comers. A streamlined singular central post would be very welcome.

The pace in starting up a roleplay

For me I have a rather set process. First comes the idea, which is researched to no end for 2-6 months lol. (Seriously, I have notebooks for each rp)

Then I create the Interest Check/OOC - they are one in the same for me. Everything gets posted at the onset in the Interest Check: rules, cs's, rs's, outline, etc. I even make sure to have at least my main characters CS fully completed before I post an Interest Check.

Once the Interest Check is posted, I let my core group of Rp Peeps know it is going and post the link in my signature, Profile Page, and in my Status Update. Then I wait. My interest checks are normally up for 3-7 days. If enough interest isn't posted by then, I move on an re-evaluate.

How many do I need to start an Rp, that depends. If it is from my core group I only need 2 to express interest. I know them, and I know between two of them and myself we can make it work and work well. With new comers, I estimate that only 1 in 4 new comers will actually fill out a CS and out of those 50% will drop before the first post. So I don't count on them as part of my numbers to start a new RP. If they work out, then wonderful! Fresh meat! If not, then I haven't placed the longevity of my RP on them.

Once the OOC goes up, it is usually 7 days before the IC goes up since I weave the PC's into the storyline. It takes me that amount of time to review the CS's and get their back stories worked in. Then the IC goes up. After that, it is 1 post per 7 days, Day 8 of no posting you are kicked.

7 Days works for me, others it might not. Granted my ways don't work for everyone but they work for me. I have a good track record of long term Rp's because of the way I do things and the Rpers that come to my RP's. (Currently have 3 Rp's that are over the 12 month running mark, 2 others that are closing in on a year and 1 that is approaching month 6. Most of them are second or third chapters in their RP, or an RP developed as a continuation of one that finished. All of them actually intertwine somewhere on what I refer to as the Lady A Universe, and two other GM's run Rp's on the forum that are on that same time line. I like to weave one hell of a web.)

But again, that is me and my ways don't work for most. They just happen to work for me.

@mnkeeSure thing, go ahead and change it. Give me a bit longer for final approval, I just want to double check it once I am fully awake and such. (But go ahead and work on the NPC relations from his history and PM anyone you think he might have crossed paths with in the past as far as PC's go.)

@ONL Um, quick note. Lord Major Keystone just threatened to kill both Josephine and Haakon to their faces. >.> Capital punishment meaning drawn and quartered, beheading, firing squad, and the like. (I'm thinking the Lord Major would have left in a much more arrogant way than his nephew did. Or was that just a missing on Haakon parts because of the language thing? Wondering if he just didn't understand the meaning of Capital Punishment.)

Kyra & Sana

Location: Cross Swords Tavern (Sana finally inside) - Apothecary (Kyra inside, Ash outside)

Sana looked over towards Nor, giving him a slight smirk and shaking her head. "Shela isn't like most I have met, she's... unique," she said quietly, trying to conserve her voice some. It didn't hurt as it did earlier but it was still sensitive and if they had more fights ahead of them she needed to be able to use her skills, those other than her bow. How could she describe Shela? Brash, overbearing, made Keystone look like a finely refined lady in waiting? She who lays with Half-Orcs? All these did well to describe her but it still left much to the imagination. In the end she could only think of one way to tell about Shela and it still came up far short.

"Shela is an experience..."

Looking over as Keystone came back she eyed the plate. Maybe she should have been more specific. The potatoes and gravy looked good but she wondered if they were too think for her to be able to swallow. Water was presenting a little challenge. Shrugging she figured she might as well, it wasn't the time to start throwing her food. "Thanks," she said before picking up a spoon and trying a small bite. It tasted as she expected, great. Keystone had always made good food, sadly she was rarely in a condition to really eat it. It was hard to swallow but she found that if she kept her bites small and washed it down with a lot of water she was able to manage.

She cocked a brow as he said he had gotten them a room together. That wasn't expected. She figured she would be bunking with Kyra or even Satilla since she was the healer. He said there were two beds, so she let it go. Seemed he was wanting to keep an eye on her. "Well Kyra and Satilla went for supplies, Cyneburg said she'd be back later I think. The rest, I have no idea," she said as Femnal brought over several large pints of ale and an even larger pitcher of more.

"Here you go, rooms are ready for your group. Baths are being drawn and should be ready in about half an hour," he said as he sat down and rested his chin on the table. He looked tired, a huge change from how he had been a week ago.

Outside the city was winding down but the militia was out and about patrolling the streets and the perimeter of the town, guards were posted through out but it didn't seem to be near as many as they would need for a town even this small in comparison to others. Over towards the graveyard there were no more graves being dug at this point, instead bodies were gathered and burned now, after which a few members of the temple gathered the bones that remained and were hammering them to dust.

Back at the Apothecary Kyra leaned against the counter as Satilla went through the supplies, eying things and the man who had brought them out. Reaching into the box she pulled out a small amulet and cocked a brow. Flipping it over a few times before setting it with the rest of the things that were to be purchased. "This too," she said as she righted herself.

"Oh yes, that is a fine choice, very rare, very rare indeed," he said stumbling over his words. Kyra smirked and shook her head.

"Really? How do you know? You don't even know what this is do you?"

"That's how I know it's rare!" he snapped back. Rolling her eyes she shook her head and gave the man a warning glance as her hand went to rest on her bow.

"Fine, take it, like everyone else here just takes," he growled.

Kyra looked over towards Satilla as she drew a silver arrow and unslung her bow from her shoulder. Drawing the string back she let it fly and the man yelped. The arrow didn't hit him though, embedding in the wall next to his head. "That should more than cover everything," she said as her bow was laced over her shoulder and she pocketed the amulet. "Come on, let's go find the others," she said as she gathered the few things she had bought personally and let Satilla grab the rest. Stepping outside she looked around and rested her hand on the hilt of her blade. People with wares were usually targets, it was best to let Satilla do the carrying and her the blade. Ash yawned slightly as he padded over towards Kyra and licked the palm of her hand.

@mnkee Okay, only half here but from first glance it seems okay, will have to go through with a fine toothed comb once my head is on straight. There is one problem I see. He cannot have a Doberman Pinscher. Why? They were not developed until the 1890's. So it is about 70 years too early for one to even be thought of. >.>
