⚘ A Brief History
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I've been at this a long time and when I say a long time I mean a long long damn time. I started out with table top, ADnD, back in the 80's, then dived into others: Nightlife, Mage the Ascension, Shadow Run, HoL, etc. Moved onto Online in the 90's. I've been running various incarnations of a single RP group for twenty years now. Worked helping setting up, building, and/or admining/modding various RP forums over the years: Adventure Quest, Priston Tales, War Gods, etc. It's been a long road filled with ups and downs. I'm an evil GM, you've been warned.

Outside of RP, I am a mom. Yup, I've reproduced and there are little Lady A's running around plotting their own take over of the world. I am a published author and once upon a time an award winning poet. I've done a lot in my life. I haven't done as much as I would like. I've grown a lot. I have a lot more growing to do. I love to cook, baker by trade currently. I went to university and majored in Mathematics. I've programmed websites, worked as a model, worked as a 3d modeler. Shit, I even used to dance. And have been known to sing a bit. Jack of all trades. Master of like 3, lol.

⚘ Looking Inside
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This is where I go into my personality. In the past I would normally make some self deprecating remark about how I am a bitch of a GM, pushing my rpers as hard as I push myself and so forth. Not anymore. People change, or perhaps they just come into their own. This can happen at any age. More than that it can happen several times over the course of your life as you discover and rediscover yourself. Everything happens for a reason, usually that reason is ones owns actions. Or inaction's. Right now, I am in a better place than I can remember being in the longest time. I am happy and at peace. I have no regrets. Maybe I should but I don't. I plan on keeping this peace I have found, I went far too long without it.

Currently I am enjoying several things. Some are things I have enjoyed most of my life: Coffee, chocolate, bacon, M*A*S*H. One isn't something I have enjoyed since I was seventeen: being clean and free of poisons in my system. It is beyond description and I love it: One-hundred and twenty days and counting. Music taste is shifting to more mood oriented than anything, strange I am finding a lot of newer Country I am enjoying and I have NEVER liked country. Watching things like Lark Rise to Candleford and being hooked to the point of reading the trilogy. Recently added yoga to my workouts and all I can say is, "Fuckmaste: the fucked up in me accepts the fucked up in you."

@Morose It's day 9, far passed time for roll requests. Just need one of you to post it and wait for the next update.
@DoomFlavored Yeah coding here can be a bit different if you are used to other forums. Some ways it is a lot better, some ways it is very limiting. Things I have done in the past outside of hiders, mind you this was on different forums, was 1 I made an entire website dedicated to the RPs OOC. God that made it easy. Paged it out, put in what I needed, linked it in the original OOC post. Another was, keep the information on a private forum for my Rpers in the RP. Information was able to be read by anyone just couldn't post.

I understand both have major draw backs but they have been helpful in the past (and ones I am intending to use again soon.)

    • Seemed Centipedes, no matter how big, preferred to be on the ceiling as one of the two larger bugs in the room turned, went up the wall and to the ceiling as well. This one though seemed be going more towards Nor than Sana at this time. Fuck these buggers are fast.

This guy was really wearing on Sana's last nerve, if she even had one to rub the wrong way at this point. Did he know that Kyra was dead or was he just this cocky all the time? Necromancers.... She didn't know if this jackass was worse than the Lych she had to deal with years ago, it was a toss up at this point. Granted, this guy hadn't tied her to a marble slab and tried to sacrifice her so that was something. The fact he seemed to prefer summon bugs over Hellhounds was something else. Sure bugs were heebee-geebee material but she would take bugs over hounds any day of the week. (Shit she preferred bugs to Paladins if we were being completely honest.)

Pulling back on the string of her bow she took aim. She had two targets she could aim at. The big mouthed fuckwad at the back of the room or the Viper right in front of her. Sure there were other targets but they were the two in her direct line of sight. She opted for the more immediate threat - the twenty foot long viper that looked like it out weighed her by a good fifty pounds. Letting out a calming breath she let the arrow loose and it flew. Striking the snake about a quarter of the way down from its head along the length of it.

  • V:
    • The viper jerked back as the arrow embedded itself deeply into its flesh and stopped as the head passed out the other side. It whipped its head about trying to shake it off but it couldn't, of course. Didn't matter, it still tried before it darted towards Sana and tried to bite into her with its long poisonous fangs. Thankfully this time it missed.

    • The centipede that was crawling over and around what could have been its twin untangled itself from the other and scurried up the wall. It's legs clicking away until it started onto the ceiling. Its claws digging into the stone surface as it moved quickly above the ones that were starting to come up from the floor below.

    • "Hindsight is twenty twenty isn't it," the Hooded Figure said with a chuckle as he started taking steps backwards. Placing more distance between him and the ones coming up. The grin on his face grew. "You act like you will get another chance. I gave you a chance to leave, you didn't. Not my fault." The man was rather arrogant but one couldn't exactly blame him. He was fine and the rest of the group was down at least one so far, maybe more. No one knew what was happening on the first floor.

Ludwig Zimmer

Location: Dirt, Main Tent, Russian Tent City, Regent Park, London, England, Europe, Northern Hemisphere, Planet Earth
Skills: English, Observation, Mental Stamina, Unacknowledged Soulless/Countries, Ferret Handling,

"Virginia... Mia'Bella."

Bjorn leapt over the partition between the stands and the ring, stepping forward as he flexed his fingers. He was still grinning from ear to ear but there was a different look in his eyes. "When Ludwig is about there is nothing normal," Christine muttered as she stood there and crossed her arms over her chest. "But to more directly answer your question mon petit cheri, no. We only accept applications to the council once every three years from a representation. It just so happens that Russias came up today, Germanies is a year over due. We had hoped that they had finally given up."

"Perhaps you had but I am firmly behind Russia being welcomed to the table," Lee Ko said as she shot a sideways glance to Christine.

"As am I, I just will not give support for Germany," Christine clarified.

Ludwig lay there, staring frozen at Virginia. He seemed to have stilled in the moment even as Bjorn stepped over. The Russians stepping back from him as the Viking came over. They couldn't tell if he was as mad as the man that they had just tackled but the joyous look in his eyes and the smile plastered on his features was more than a little disturbing right then. "Ludwig, it's Bjorn," he said as he held his hand out to the man. The Russians stayed close they were not sure it was a good time to step away. They didn't know any of these people and their Grand Duchess was within the tent city.

Greetings and Salutations,

I am the little voice in Ludwigs mind. I'm not the only one, heavens it is crowded in here, but I am that small piece of sanity that he has. I am actually much larger than one might believe but because of so many others little shards of insanity running around here like drunken toddles it can be very difficult for me to be heard the majority of the time. I used to try to make myself known a lot more but I have found over the years it is best to pick my battles. Trying to be seen every time Ludwig acts or speaks is tantamount to trying to nail orange marmalade to the wall, a rather futile endeavor wouldn't you agree? I hope so otherwise making myself known at this time is rather pointless.

I suspect you are asking why now. Ludwig is a dear chap and well meaning. He normally isn't this far to the left but you have to understand that certain situations can make him worse. Too much on his shoulders, too many sights, new sounds, new people. Over stimulation is what I believe would be the best way to describe it. Like throwing a royal scandal into the middle of the season. It is a situation that is just waiting to explode. I really do not want Ludwig crossing the line from eccentric to certifiable. Would be a shame. Me shushing the rest of the group is a pause moment in his brain to reset as it were.

Just a few moments while he is restrained to still his mind along with his body. Thankfully he seems to have something to focus on. I can see why, she does have a striking similarity to the name sake. It is rather remarkable. The features are strong. Couldn't have come at a more opportune moment because I dare say, another without and we may have seen just how truly tilted he could have been. Enough time should have passed, I will leave you now. Do not worry, I am always here it is just time to let the kids out to play again before they revolt. Toodles my dears, I will speak to you again one day.

Blink one, blink two. "Master Joyous!" Ludwig exclaimed as he lifted his head from the dirt and reached out. Taking the hand that was offered him he got to his feet and dusted himself off. "Wonderful to see you." Yes, it was wonderful. A joyous person, not a mad person greeting him. It did him good. His nose wrinkled and noted there was no wire on the bridge. A buckling of his knees and his neck rolled this way and that. Seeking the glasses that had fallen from his face when he was knocked to the ground. Spotting them he snatched him up as his arms swung like a windmill before placing them back on, hooking the curls around the back of his ears.

"Um..." slowly lowering his hands from his ears he glanced around and noted the rest of the attending Council there. "How'd I do?" he asked nervously as he adjusted the strap on his bag and Dieter, his ferret not his brother, jumped from Bjorns shoulders over to his master, curling up around his neck. His brows rising dramatically as his eyes widened, as if stretching the muscles before his face went slack again and he bit his bottom lip.

"I think you did splendidly," Bjorn assured him as he wrapped an arm around the mans shoulders and walked him over to the Council proper. "Though I don't think Christine was very impressed."

"Pftpht," Luwdig blew a raspberry with his lips and rolled his eyes. He din't bother to hide how he felt. He didn't know how. "Those swamp rats she stews had gnawed her brains."

"Is that so?" Christine said offended.

"Yes," Ludwig said and grinning as if what he had said should have caused no issue what so ever. Bjorn could only laugh as he lead Ludwig to the seat next to where he had been seated, placing him squarely between himself and Virginia. Looking over at Virginia he grinned ear to ear. "Hello, you are very pale. Condition or Crypt?" he asked as he pulled his notebook out of his satchel.

"Sorry to interrupt but I have to get with the reset of the Circus, we are about to begin, can I leave the boys with you?" Petrov came over and asked. Adam and James were still riding Myska as if he was a horse built just for him. They had been in the back of the tent watching as everything went down.

"Oh, has to be Crypt! Lord Pale, Lady Pale. Yes! Crypt! I called it!" Ludwig said proudly. Adam slipped off of Myska and wandered over towards Ludwig looking him over a minute. Ludwig in turn looked right back. "Oh oh! Yes, you sit!" he exclaimed and Adam crawled right into Ludwigs lap.

"Looks like we have them, go finish getting ready," Lee Ko said and Petrov nodded as he lifted James off Myska and set him down to go to his sister before turning. He and Myska, along with the Russians that had tackled Ludwig were off. The show was starting in mere moments.

Millicent Wyndham

Location: Ladies Room, Heaton Hall, Heaton Park, Manchester, England
Skills: Class Knowledge (Peer), Court Ettiquette, House

A brow rose slightly at the mention that this woman trained in China as well, yet she did not mention the fact that Millicent had spoken in the language earlier. Perhaps she learned Cantonese instead of the Mandarin that Millicent had spoken earlier. Or perhaps she had been trying to not intrude. Either way, it really did not matter much to Millicent, it was nice to see another woman who had chosen to train there. There were not many in London and even those that had did not associate with Millicent often. One had but they were not close. At least not in a traditional sense.

"That is rare to hear but I am glad that you do, it is nice to know that I am not alone." It was true what she spoke. She did not like being the only woman who had trained in China that she knew. That wasn't exactly true. She had known women in the past but they, once again, did not associate with the Wyndhams. If only her sister had been allowed to train, perhaps she would be alive now instead of being carriaged across England to their country home to be buried. The thought struck at the heart of Millicent and reminded her why she was going through all of this. To ensure that her only remaining sister did not have to face the same fate.

That thought reminded her that she shouldn't speak of it, of what happened. Not that she would be the first woman to endure it but it was not something that was spoken of and if wind got out before the wedding it could make things so much worse. No, she would just have to be be calm and carry on. Smiling kindly but weakly she finally responded to the rest. "Oh is nothing. I was at Almacks yesterday, there was an attack. Thankfully I still draw breath," she said. She did not mention Rutherford though or that the majorty of her wounds were caused by him after the attack. That part could be conveniently left out and the attack could provide as cover for why she looked so battered. Lowering her head she sighed. "I lost a younger sister in the attack." That much she could admit to.

Anisa & Jahosafat

Location: Lady Luck: Table Main Room
Skills: Jack-Of-All(Anisa), Recruiting (Anisa), Carouse (Jahosafat), Social Science -> Psychology (Jahosafat)

Anisa wasn't going to be drug into the discussion at the table, it was time for a break from that. Yet she couldn't help but smirk slightly at Jackie. "I wouldn't be surprised if you were. Just wait til you meet Preacher," she said with a stifled chuckle before turning her attention back to Harper as they walked out to the dance floor. Why the hell he had asked her to dance was beyond her but she went with it. Was better to do something than nothing.

Jahosafat grinned broadly as he reached out and collected the cards from around the table. Leaning back in his seat he started shuffling them. "I must agree with you there, this music is rather unbecoming for such a jaunt out on the floor boards as it were. Perhaps once this hand is over we should speak with the local minstrel. There are many wondrous songs out there which I would enjoy tapping my toe to, yet as you did mention, daddy needs a new pair of shoes and uncle here wouldn't mind a tasty top hat." Yes, one could never have too many hats in Jahosafats mind, if he could win enough to fund a new stetson or two, who was he to deny others giving him their money.

Looking over at Harper, Anisa took the lead. Her brow raising at his last comment. "Keep it up fly boy and you'll see how quickly I can pull a gun from my thigh," she said quickly. The music was loud enough in the place for them to be able to speak in hushed tones without altering the rest of the crew of what they were speaking about. Anisa didn't like keeping most things from her crew but her crew was no longer what it had been. The only ones left she trusted where Dorothy and Atticus. Preacher wasn't exactly one she confided in and Dorothy had torn allegiances currently from what Anisa could tell. It was better to keep things quiet for now.

As Dorothy came back to the table, Jahosafat stood up and waited for her to have a seat. "Dr. Pender, wonderful to have you rejoin us. I take it the fresh air out in the city was not as fresh as one would have hoped. I know it was a bit stagnate for my tastes. Shall I deal you in and let you test your skills? We have some rapscallions just itching to pay for our dinner. I do believe your suggestion for which card game we shall partake in first is just the thing," he said with a broad grin as he took his seat once again and started dealing out the cards, pausing at Dorothy and waiting to see if she would join in the game.

Moving her feet across the floor Anisa caught a glimpse of Dorothy returning and wondered if she had made the right choice making Dorothy her second, granted there was not much of a choice now. Who would replace her? Preacher? Fuck that... "So what n the hell possessed you to ask me to dance? It can't be my personality."
@Kuroyomihime Ahh, see TTRPG is where I started, back in the 80's... That is where I got a lot of what I do today. How I handle things, how I do character sheets, etc. My TT characters have custom sheets for everything from ADnD to Shadowrun to Nightlife to HoL and so forth. (They're longer than my Cs's here...)

Evelina Lucas

Location: Ville au Camp - Heading Towards The Oak Tree -> Kitchen House
Skills: Administration, Diplomacy, Memory Training, History

The Spanish Moss that hung from the trees shifted in the wind as the sound of the peacocks roaming around the grounds made themselves known. They were always louder when new people arrived on the grounds. Evelinas eyes darted about as she brushed some of the moss out of the way as she walked. There was much on her mind right then, most of it pertaining to the new arrivals but it was not the only thing. The Dice had been busy that morning. She had to wonder to herself if Nancy had seen these deaths in the cards. It wasn't uncommon for her to but if the death was not meant be stopped or to be paid close attention to yet she doubted Nancy would have rushed to speak to her about it.

It was probably a good thing she hadn't seen her counter point today as of yet. These new Paradoxes had just arrived and there was much to do. Not to mention they did not know of their powers yet, they had not manifested. There was no way she could send them on a case if something came up. It would have to be one of them and perhaps Alicia. No one else was available right then. If something was serious enough Evelina herself might have to go but she never enjoyed a mission, especially when there were new arrivals. She wanted to be there for them, as much as she could.

As much as she could... That was a difficult thing to balance. Evelina was a very conciliatory person, she wanted to pacify and placate the new arrivals desires to know more. To answer all their questions. To make things as simple and easy for them as possible. Yet she couldn't. She knew better. She knew the consequences to giving into a childs wants instead of taking care of their needs. Though she had never been a mother in a traditional sense, it was an impossibility, she had tried to be a mother to each Paradox she created and brought into the fold. Infact, there was at least one that she doubted she could look at as a daughter anymore than if she had birthed her herself. Some bonds were unfathomable.

A slight smile, a rare one, came to her lips thinking on her first. On her dearest. Such a remarkable woman and one that had brought so much joy when she was there. How she missed her and everything that came along with her. It had been so very long ago. And while as each day ticked by the pain of losing Drem became more manageable, it was the opposite for her "daughter". Each day that drew by that she was not close to her was more difficult. Yet there was nothing to be done about it. Somethings were as they were for a reason. The Dice understood it and while she did not find joy in it, the thought of her daughter steeled her resolve to hold her ground with the newest groups of Paradoxes. She would not make the same mistake twice.

Stepping into he kitchen house she perked a brow noting that an apron was gone. That was odd, she would have to inquire with Gilbert about it later but as she could recall, the one that was missing was not the same one she had noted earlier. Perhaps Gio or Nancy had been down this morning, or perhaps it was Alicia that had taken it. Moving over to the dry storage Evelina began to collect what she would be using to put together a quick lunch for the group and pondered something else as the trails of smoke came up from her pipe and wafted around her as she held it in her teeth. "Just where is that girl."

Alicia Gonzalez

Location: Ville au Camp - Mill
Skills: Empathy

Where was that girl indeed? That girl was busy working. Well not exactly working. She was working on something alright but she wasn't working. Not in a traditional sense. This wasn't part of her job. This wasn't tending to the weapons that Gilbert had given her to clean. This wasn't welcoming another new Paradox. This wasn't studying to make sure she could handle a new paradox. This wasn't even practicing the form of martial arts that Gilbert had shown her so that she could relearn to defend herself since the abilities she had that had manifested were not exactly things one could use to defend ones self against a sudden attack. Dreams and Empathy did little in that regard. Interesting yes, useful in a shootout - no.

Yet she still worked and was grinning from ear to ear. Looking up at her work she felt she deserved a pat on the shoulder and so she gave herself one. Everything was in place. Now to wait. Thing was, she did need to get back to the group now and actually work. Do her job. Damn she didn't want to. She wanted to climb up to get a good seat, sit, wait, and watch as it unfolded. Oh well, wasn't anything that could be done about it. She had to get a move on.

The fact she would get to catch up with James some was a nice thought. She did want to ask him about Ash. That wasn't a channel she was allowed to watch. As Evelina put it - It was none of her concern anymore. It irked her but she let it go. That life wasn't her main life, it wasn't the one that was more prevalent in her mind. The one with Liam was. Yet she still wondered but she didn't push it with Evelina. They had had a chance to sit down and talk once and she learned a few things about The Dice. It didn't make her hard ways any easier to swallow but she found herself less likely to mouth off. McCormick probably wished she had learned to do that BEFORE she died.
