Keep moving forward ۩
⚘ A Brief History
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I've been at this a long time and when I say a long time I mean a long long damn time. I started out with table top, ADnD, back in the 80's, then dived into others: Nightlife, Mage the Ascension, Shadow Run, HoL, etc. Moved onto Online in the 90's. I've been running various incarnations of a single RP group for twenty years now. Worked helping setting up, building, and/or admining/modding various RP forums over the years: Adventure Quest, Priston Tales, War Gods, etc. It's been a long road filled with ups and downs. I'm an evil GM, you've been warned.

Outside of RP, I am a mom. Yup, I've reproduced and there are little Lady A's running around plotting their own take over of the world. I am a published author and once upon a time an award winning poet. I've done a lot in my life. I haven't done as much as I would like. I've grown a lot. I have a lot more growing to do. I love to cook, baker by trade currently. I went to university and majored in Mathematics. I've programmed websites, worked as a model, worked as a 3d modeler. Shit, I even used to dance. And have been known to sing a bit. Jack of all trades. Master of like 3, lol.

⚘ Looking Inside
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This is where I go into my personality. In the past I would normally make some self deprecating remark about how I am a bitch of a GM, pushing my rpers as hard as I push myself and so forth. Not anymore. People change, or perhaps they just come into their own. This can happen at any age. More than that it can happen several times over the course of your life as you discover and rediscover yourself. Everything happens for a reason, usually that reason is ones owns actions. Or inaction's. Right now, I am in a better place than I can remember being in the longest time. I am happy and at peace. I have no regrets. Maybe I should but I don't. I plan on keeping this peace I have found, I went far too long without it.

Currently I am enjoying several things. Some are things I have enjoyed most of my life: Coffee, chocolate, bacon, M*A*S*H. One isn't something I have enjoyed since I was seventeen: being clean and free of poisons in my system. It is beyond description and I love it: One-hundred and twenty days and counting. Music taste is shifting to more mood oriented than anything, strange I am finding a lot of newer Country I am enjoying and I have NEVER liked country. Watching things like Lark Rise to Candleford and being hooked to the point of reading the trilogy. Recently added yoga to my workouts and all I can say is, "Fuckmaste: the fucked up in me accepts the fucked up in you."

Wayne Maldonado

Location: Okefenokee: C7 (Road)
Skills:Athletics

Wayne looked over towards the Spartan wannabe and chuckled. "What ya gonna do say a prayer for Black Jesus? I think his daddy got him covered," Wayne spouted under his breath before looking back towards Erica and Hank. "Sounds like a fucking plan. Hey, a fishing rod would be awesome. Think that have one of those singing bass fish? Those things are fucking twisted," he added as shoved the pistols back into his belt loop to his back side. Looking up at the sky he let his mouth fall open.

"Gonna get dark soon," he said before swatting at the air. "I swear to fucking Christ, if your feathery ass done shut it I am gonna shove you right up my ass next time I got the runs Happy!" he bellowed. Shaking his head he looked back at Erica. "Well if you wanna tag along, that's fine. Just don't be spouting off bible verses at me, names Wayne, and you are?" he asked. He was making the small talk as they called it, Wayne was anything but suave. Especially now with the sweat running down his face and the grease in his balding hair glistening. He looked like anything but a savior in the waiting that was for sure.

Tatiana Newnan

Location: Headland: East Main Street E9 -> A4 (Car: Front Passenger - Street)
Skills: Survival, Pistols, Close Combat Fighting

Tatiana looked at Jack and pushed her hair back out of her face. There was a seriousness that came over her and perhaps even a bit of blood lust vengeance shining in her eyes as the skies were growing darker around them. It would be night soon. "You listen here husband. You don't knov house. You don't knov layout. You don't knov vhere they sit and sleep. I do. You in better shape than me. Jamie more important. You protect Jamie," she said in a cold voice that had never been used in the presence of those that knew her.

Turning she pointed to a road junction where it turned off to the right. "Pull over here, turn off lights. Ve valk from here. End of road, house at end of circle," she added as she sat there. Once Riley pulled out Tatiana got out of the car and walked to the back. Opening it for Amelia and reaching in. She opened another bag and pulled out a couple of hand guns, checking them for ammunition and then taking two more clips. She tucked a knife into a belt sheath and put it on and after all that she grabbed a scarf. Wrapping it around one hand before pulling out some barbed wire and wrapping it over the scarf. It created a nasty make shift pair of brass knuckles.

Reaching over the back seat she handed over two pistols and a pack. "Jamie need diaper change," she said before scooting out of the back and standing up. She looked around and waited for Amelia and Riley to be ready to go. "We take to woods, come up to the back of house, maybe ve take by surprise."

October 31st, 1943 - An Interesting Development

Set up continued for the Carnivale, the rousty's doing their job as tents began to go up and signs were hung. Different people started milling about beyond the grunt workers. Two women joined at the hip, a woman with a goatee walking around, a man that looked so tall he could make Gilbert fell like Samson, and so many more.

Over at the kitchen house Ben shrugged a bit and shoved the pack of cigarette's back into the front over his overall's. His head tilted to the side as he listened to the conversation and then glanced over towards Gilbert. "Naw, not really," he said before his eyes turned back to Andromeda. His hands came up quickly and he grabbed her by the cheeks. His touch wasn't hard but it was firm as his eyes closed. There was a warm tingling that came from his fingers. It spread quickly from his hands and would flow through her body.

The grass around him started to die and is slowly moved out from around him until everything within ten feet of the two that was one green had died. Pulling back slowly he opened his eyes and he gave her a soft look. "She'll have nuts," he said towards her before pulling the cigarette from between his lips and ashing it. "You won't be havin' anymore trouble with that ma'am," he added before taking a few quick steps back and sitting down on the ground. Pulling his knees and draping his arms over his knees. He looked out over the grounds and then back over towards the group. "Got any eggs?" he asked as if what he had just done was nothing big. His brow cocked a bit and he sighed. His eyes flickers but he didn't say anything. "Actually, Management says pancakes would be fine if you have any pecans."

(Those in collab, if you haven't already post what we have and we will continue from there. Those that have, pick up after the part in the update. Counters are reset for those in collab only as of this post.)

House Kirkpatrick: The fight continues. Many Soulless have been taken down, and our Heroes still are standing. More to come next round.

(Map Updated - Call your rolls If it does, slowly we will switch over to this system. Each round you will call for your actions, any movement will require a roll. A movement roll will be determined by 1d20 in Soulless Chat, you may roll this on your own. Your number is how many total blocks you can move in a single round without attacking. Forward, back, up, down, diagonal, retrace steps, whatever. Roll your movement, determine where you will go and then call for action rolls if you need them. If a Soulless is within 5 blocks of your icon, they can attack you most likely, so even call rolls if you are taking a defensive stance.)

Port Annan -> Towards Annan: Rutherford looked out the window and then over to Millicent. "Not much longer my dear and then you can get cleaned up from that horrid boat ride here," Rutherford said in an almost sweet voice. Egerton rolled his eyes a bit before letting the look fade form his expression.

"Yes, you can tend to making yourself presentable while us Lords tend to business," he said before his eyes went over to the man sitting next to him. "I am sure we can find something for you to do to pass the time while we wait to depart for Gretna Green," he added in a slightly annoyed voice. (And pick up from there)

England

The Bristol Ship: As Constantine steps out onto the deck he will see what was described in the previous update and a passed out Ludwig on the deck by the railing. Vlad will wake this round, being a bit groggy and have a little headache. It will not take long for him to notice that things seem calm now and that he is feeling as well as can be expected right then. He will also note that neither Constantine or Ludwig are around right then either. (Roll 1d20 in chat, anything 6 or higher will mean he will think to look on the main deck.)

The Sea: Inside the Captains quarters, things continue behind the scenes. Up in the Crows Nest Hazel looked over towards Fyror and nodded. "Last thing I want to do is clean up yer brains from the deck," she said with a bit of a smirk as she turned and looked out over the water. "Ye need to be gettin' some sea legs under ya if ye gonna be on this ship, gonna get yerself killed this way," she added as she grabbed ahold of the railing and hoisted to herself up onto it. Balancing with her arms out for a moment before simply standing there. The girl obviously had been on the ship for sometime to be at as ease as she was.

Turning around she pointed out along one of the cross beams, there was a torn sail on the far end. "that's what we be goin' to fix, you ain't scared of heights are ye?" she asked as she stood there and pulled out her knife before placing it between her teeth. Squatting down she started gathering a length of rope, looping it over her arm and across her chest. "Two man job, if ye don't think ye can handle it, tell me now." There was a look on her young face as if to say don't let pride get in the way.

Carlisle: Virginia will be continuing now. One Soulless is running away from the fight while the other two remaining are charging her with swords drawn.

Oh yeah!
We are 3 years strong!
Joining Duplicity and The Walking Dead in that elite RP standing!
Way to go peeps!

Never thought I would see the day but here it is. The forum has just rolled Darker Than Black over to that phenomenal 3 Year mark! Can you believe it? I hardly can and I have been watching for it for a while now. This RP had some major issues in the beginning but thanks to my marvelous peeps it has kept going and turned into one hell of a roller coaster ride. We just recently closed out on Chapter 3 and entered Chapter 4 where everything is changing and changing fast, including the main location of the RP.

I have to throw out some major kuddos to @Dragoknighte, @Sigil, @Morose, & @Nallore. They have been with this Rp since it started and have been paramount to its success. (Like they are with so many of my Rps.) @FantasyChic was a late comer to the game, stepping in during Chapter 3 but she had proven herself to be an amazing asset in this RP. We have a new player hopefully joining us soon and I cannot wait to see what he brings to the mix.

So as always, thank you so fucking much for all the time and dedication you have put into this RP. We might be in Chapter 4 but this is only the beginning of what I hope will turn into many more years to come. Congrats DTB Peeps, it's time to party!

It seemed that the man known as Dr. Swamp to her and the others was willing to allow her to repay him with the bit of music right then. Yet as he closed the door and found a chair to block it, that created a look of apprehension to rise on her features. Though most were hidden behind the intricate mask it was clear in her large eyes. Flicking as she took both violin and bow in her hands she stepped around the back side of the table and forced a smile in the mans direction. "Music, like most things, should never be caged," she said in a charming voice, reaching a foot down and moving the chair back out of the way before opening the door, but only slightly.

Taking a deep breath she moved to the center of the room; between the two tables, the door and the fireplace. The room was quiet save for the crackling of the wood as the flames rose up behind her, casting long shadows on the walls and filling the air with warmth. She stood with her feet a little more than shoulder length apart and her back straightened. She had seemed so shy and reserved before this moment but something seemed to come over her and despite her small stature she held herself as if she was a giant among men right then.

Bringing the instrument to rest below her chin her brow raised. Body swaying as she drew the first note. It was a familiar tune to those who perhaps frequented grand halls to hear such types of music. The notes were clear and precise as she played but there was a maturity to execution and a deeply expressive interpretation in the notes as she played. Her eyes closed through some stanza's, she played from memory, her body moving and turning with the longing of the sounds. Each note blossoming and layering over the last, like a fine wine that was being allowed to breath for the first time in years.

Titian gave a slight chuckle as he rubbed the bottom of his chin, scratching the hair slightly. "I am sure we can improvise," he said followed by a wink. Leading her from the Lunar Ballroom into the Starry Salon he looked around. Quinton was still standing there in front of the door that lead eastward, exactly where they were told not to go. Looking ahead that was back where they had just come from not too terribly long ago. Then there was the other door, the one they were told lead to the trophy room.

The man seemed to ponder to himself for a moment. The man looked down at Professor Walnut and leaned in, whispering against her ear. He made sure to keep his voice down, it seemed as if he didn't want the staff to know what he was saying. Quinton, whether he did or did not, did not show any interest. Standing up straight, Titian waited for the little petite gem on his arm to chose which way they would go. One was pointless, one was guarded, which left two: To the south or to the west. Was it a time to take the path they knew or try something new?

Flight UA 2199: Pulling out a red bandana Gavin handed it over to Cecily and shook his head. "Why that is just nonsense. Ain't yer fault someone decided to do sumthang little lady. Peoples responsible fer their own actions. Shit I bet ya she would have gone even if ya ain't bein' hurt. Anys excuse to get out of that place is a good ones I suspect," he said as they continued to fly.

Over the intercom a message from the captain came over. "We will be making out final approach to Chicago in the next thirty minutes, please make sure to finish your meals and get your trays in their upright position," he said before it went quiet again. The stewardess began making her rounds. Gavin looked out the window and then got to eating right quick like since he had been talking to Cecily and not eating. The man knew how to put a meal away quickly it seemed.

Flight MSS 1: "Boss, we will be landing in 20 minutes in Chicago," the pilot said over the intercom. The stewardess for the flight came by and picked up any trash and such before double checking and seeing if the two men needed anything else before she got seated for landing. It wouldn't be long now before they touched down.

Word came in that they would be meet by an woman that had just recently been hired by MSS out in Boston but had quickly been transferred to the Chicago location. A Miss Claire MacManus, former Semi-Pro MMA fighter that had spent some time out in India running the underground circuit. The woman was a heavy fist but had a background in linguistics and music and had done part of the private security for a Miss Adkins during her last concert series before getting hired by MSS.

Grimm, Indiana: Tim rubbed his face slowly as he kept driving. "In this town nothing surprises me anymore. They say big towns are where the action is, but here, this place just seems to attract the odd," he said before shrugging towards Riley. "I got not fucking clue and thing is I don't think I want to know. Balloon is a new one even for this place but I do know the woman was put away for killing a man by giving him an enema of glitter mixed with glass and then force feeding him laxatives," he said cringing.

"Okay, I know you took out Chris with a gun girl but do you actually know how to handle one?" Tim asked as they pulled up to to a line of tape and the fire truck blocking off further traffic in the area. The fire department was busy trying to put out the fire in the woods, digging trenches and trying to get it contained. He put the car in park and popped his neck. "Well this looks like a shit storm."

Deeper Than The Sands

Date: October 5th, 1924

All Decks: Dinner has begun. Those on decks where it is being served as courses, the first light course is being set down. Buffet foods for the others is laid out now and people can serve themselves. Dinner will last this round and the next.

In the lower level of the ship where even the staff take their meals things are very relaxed. There are not individual tables or even small ones for groups to get together and talk quietly. There are long bench tables that span one end of the room to the other with bench seating. Like cafeteria tables one might see in larger schools or even prison. They are decently nice however. There is no seat assignments and things are relaxed. Food is served buffet style, which means grab your plate and serve yourself before being seated. All foods are local street fare foods popular in Egypt. Ales and Beers and Water are there to drink. Hard liquors are not unless you brought your own. People are loud and rambunctious. Talking drowns out most noises and what it doesn't music played by staff or even other passengers does. This is a good since you are right near the engine.

The Main deck has two lounges. One open air and one enclosed. Both are just your general bar type areas with tables scattered about. People don't really eat there unless it is some soft of small finger food or appetizer that has been placed out. Can't order more unless it is drinks. Anything hard or upscale costs a pretty penny and isn't covered in the cost of travel unless you have an Elite Level Ticket. Though no many of those are caught there. Most people mulling around here are from the lower level who just want some peace and quiet while still being social. That or have a major gambling habit and just want to play poker.

The Second Deck has more formal seating but the seats are not reserved. Tablecloths and the basics. You are waited on here and most of the people on this level are middle class or servants of the Elite who are taking a meal before they have to get to their employers above. You will have an option of several different meat choices before being served. Meals are served in 2 courses. Bread/Sides/Meat and then a small dessert. Wine, Beer, Ale, and water are free of charge, anything more does cost extra out of pocket and it not included in the cost of ticket.

The Elite Deck is a full seven course meal that is served slowly and with grandeur. All drinks are part of the fare of the ticket. Seating is assigned and it is the least crowded area. Light music is provided but nothing that would drown out polite conversation. Since the weather is nice currently and the air is cooling, dinner is served on the Sun Deck above and not in the Meeting Room of this deck. The Lounge will serve anything an Elite Ticket wishes as they play Poker, shoot Craps, talk, etc.
From 10/28/2018 Update

Character Proceeding Forward: Vera looked over towards Nora as she arrived, George standing up in the ladies presence and nodding towards her. "It is nothing to apologize over, we had just been seated ourselves. I wanted to ensure we had a table is all," Vera said kindly. She was glad Nora was there now, she felt more at ease with her there instead of being alone with George. George could have gone either way, he seemed to enjoy Vera's company with or without anyone around. Seeing his sister come over he smirked a bit seeing her pull out the candy. The woman did have a thing for sweets. His brow however did go up at his sisters words.

Vera looked equally surprised but she had come to trust George over the short amount of time knowing him and hoped that the apple did not fall far from the tree. "Currently we are going to a dig site in Bubastis in hopes of solving a few puzzles that have come up that seem ancient in origin. We have had a few things develop over the last few days that have raised more than a few questions both scientific and perhaps religious if not just hokkum. All signs seem to be pointing to the ancient site so we are following them in hopes that this time x will mark the proverbial spot," Vera said, not exactly sure how to tell someone on the outside that people were getting branded by mysterious ways and several had turned up dead. It didn't seem like dinner conversation.

George remained standing as more women came over and finally sat down as Josephine was seated. Vera's eyes going over to Reddish and then to Josephine. He didn't seem like the type of man that the starlet would be found around but if she had learned anything over the previous months about the man when dealing with her uncle, he was not one that was easy to get rid of. Perhaps he had just latched onto her. She felt sorry for the woman but she had no doubt that if Reddish bothered her she would put the man in his place. It has been quite a day has it not Miss Clark? I think we could all use a good meal and rest this evening. Peace and quiet if you know," she said glancing over towards Reddish.

"Mmm, indeed. I am mmm surprised you are not with the Lord Major," George said to Reddish before carefully taking a sip of his drink and beginning to eat. He had to be careful with his mask on. He normally would take his meals in private so he could remove the mask but he was not going to leave Vera alone right then, not with everything that had happened so far. His sister, while he was protective of her, he wasn't worried over. The woman was truthful when she said she was made of tough things. He had seen her handle far more than one might believe.

"Yes, where is my uncle?" Vera asked as she picked up her spoon. "Would I be correct to presume he is taking his meal above?" she asked before noting that George was standing again and nodding towards Mosi. Vera looked over towards Nora before looking at Mosi. "Good evening to you," she said as any good hostess would.
