⚘ A Brief History
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I've been at this a long time and when I say a long time I mean a long long damn time. I started out with table top, ADnD, back in the 80's, then dived into others: Nightlife, Mage the Ascension, Shadow Run, HoL, etc. Moved onto Online in the 90's. I've been running various incarnations of a single RP group for twenty years now. Worked helping setting up, building, and/or admining/modding various RP forums over the years: Adventure Quest, Priston Tales, War Gods, etc. It's been a long road filled with ups and downs. I'm an evil GM, you've been warned.

Outside of RP, I am a mom. Yup, I've reproduced and there are little Lady A's running around plotting their own take over of the world. I am a published author and once upon a time an award winning poet. I've done a lot in my life. I haven't done as much as I would like. I've grown a lot. I have a lot more growing to do. I love to cook, baker by trade currently. I went to university and majored in Mathematics. I've programmed websites, worked as a model, worked as a 3d modeler. Shit, I even used to dance. And have been known to sing a bit. Jack of all trades. Master of like 3, lol.

⚘ Looking Inside
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This is where I go into my personality. In the past I would normally make some self deprecating remark about how I am a bitch of a GM, pushing my rpers as hard as I push myself and so forth. Not anymore. People change, or perhaps they just come into their own. This can happen at any age. More than that it can happen several times over the course of your life as you discover and rediscover yourself. Everything happens for a reason, usually that reason is ones owns actions. Or inaction's. Right now, I am in a better place than I can remember being in the longest time. I am happy and at peace. I have no regrets. Maybe I should but I don't. I plan on keeping this peace I have found, I went far too long without it.

Currently I am enjoying several things. Some are things I have enjoyed most of my life: Coffee, chocolate, bacon, M*A*S*H. One isn't something I have enjoyed since I was seventeen: being clean and free of poisons in my system. It is beyond description and I love it: One-hundred and twenty days and counting. Music taste is shifting to more mood oriented than anything, strange I am finding a lot of newer Country I am enjoying and I have NEVER liked country. Watching things like Lark Rise to Candleford and being hooked to the point of reading the trilogy. Recently added yoga to my workouts and all I can say is, "Fuckmaste: the fucked up in me accepts the fucked up in you."

Notes: Alright the funeral is over and the group is heading back. I had thought the time line was going to be a bit off but the general way things played out it isn't. All characters are in the same time, no one is head or behind at this point, which is good. No needing to worry about adjusting for that. So keep track of what is going on in other posts so you can gauge how much time is passing between the round. Now, having said that - the Funeral Detail is a tad ahead, when they reach the gate (next round not this round) then they will be perfectly lined up with the rest.

Hospital/Medical (B): Like the last round Lisa has some cleaning to get done before the day is over. She still has about half an hour worth of work (She won't finish this round) - having said that there is an option - one can roll against her skill and if it passes she trims off half the time, if she fails though the time will go up by half. One doesn't have to roll for it but if you do, call it, once called then you have to roll and accept the results. If you crit fail... Tag me, we're gonna have to have a talk. Now, are you feeling lucky? Well are ya? :)

Inside Jail (AA): Will update next round.

Streets of CMB (N5) -> Administration (A): The streets are as they were the previous round, all good there. Inside of Administration and older woman trying far to hard to look younger than she was is sitting there filing her nails. (It's Rolodex) - the rest of the lobby is empty and the door to the back is closed. There is a pile of papers in the out going box but the in going box is empty. Place is quiet safe the sound of the file scraping across her nails and the A.C. unit blowing cool air from the vent at the top of the wall above her.

General Supply (R): "Well it's about time," Auntie said as she quickly lowered the tea cup and acted like she hadn't been studying the thing intently. The look she had had on her face, dare one say a look of happiness, melted away to her usual scowl. Picking up the clipboard she shoved it towards Nikki. "Get them loaded and done, soon as the new girl gets back you better be out that door delivering them," she snipped before she started to walk off. Stopping she turned around, grabbed the tea cup, and then marched back to the back of the building.

CMB Graveyard (Bus): Bass looked at Amelia and he waited patiently for her to hand over the weapons, taking the bat first and then the axe. She hadn't seemed like one that was going to give them difficulty but one never knew. People were full of surprises. She didn't though, she paused a minute but nothing that was uncommon as far as he was concerned. It was something he had seen a lot over the years. Someone got a weapon in their hand, especially now, it was hard to give it back, to give it up. Weapons were protection and it was easier to trust a weapon in ones hand to do that than someone you barely knew.

He took both and slipped them into one of the bags before doing the same with Riley, then Tatiana and Jack. It was time for the next person to come on the bus. Seemed Alexander was following her and Riley. Taking the gun from Alexander, Bass checked the safety before setting down in the bag on the seat and shuffling the shells into the other bag. Ash was next and Bass gave the man a nod for the way he handed things over. Made it easier for him at least. Things packed away he turned his attention to Thalia. The gun came quickly but he could see her waiting on the shield. Joaquin nodded towards his sister. She needed to hand it over. And she did of course, there wasn't a problem but it was clear she didn't want to, then again who really wanted to be weaponless in this day an age.

"Alright Manny, just you left," Atticus said as he motioned to the man to head over to Bass on the bus to hand over his weapon and shells. Joaquin glanced around the graveyard, his eyes shifting slowly from one point to another as he kept watch. They were nearly done loading everyone up. Once they were and the bus was moving things could relax a bit, not much, but a bit. Each step closer to being back to town was good, but it usually also meant that something was more likely to go wrong or someone would do something.

Thana nodded. "I would think it had to be but as far as I am concerned this place is far too lax in its security. It isn't as lax as other places I have been but still not enough in my opinion." Thana glanced around a bit as they walked, thinking back to how easy it was for her to come inside the last settlement she had become a part of. She was put in charge of a major department on her second day. Granted there were extenuating circumstances but still. Herself and others after had come right in. The last settlement was friendlier to start than this one but that one did end up having someone murdered in the streets the first morning after she had arrived. Friendly didn't always pay off. Thana would frankly rather be hated and alive than liked. Then again, Thana was the type of woman that was glad her sister was dead and she didn't morn her mother.

Quirking a brow, she glanced over at Nigel and chuckled. "Oh them kids have been better trained than I have I think. Half their day is spent in survival type classes. Boy scout type stuff, plus fighting, weapons, and so forth. Seen that one," she said as she stopped walking and pointed to a boy with black hair that had startling blue eyes and oddly pale skin considering they were on a beach, "put Volts on his ass and three seconds later disarm Gregory. They train'um young here and put them out of the walls regularly." There was a slight shrug before she looked back to Nigel. "Dad had me usin'a gun before I was ten and that was before the world fell apart," she added before she started walking again and heading towards the Administration Building.

Reaching it she opened the door and stepped inside. It was still a shock to the system anytime she felt the air conditioner on her skin. A welcome one but still a shock. It was so quiet as she spotted Sandra doing her nails. Glancing at the clock on the wall it was later than she had thought but still earlier than it would have been if she hadn't had help today. Walking over to the counter with her paper work she tapped the empty in going box. "Did ya already do the other departments or we first in today?"

That was something she wasn't expecting but then again Nikki wasn't very sure of what she had been expecting. It was one thing to see Auntie looking over something intently. It was something Nikki was used to seeing actually. The woman had an eye for detail and more than that an eye for seeing flaws in things that could end up being major problems down the road. Weak spots in metal that could have caused something to break if used. She had probably helped keep many people from getting hurt over the years. Yet that was one thing. Seeing Auntie look at something 'lovingly' was another. Nikki didn't think that woman had even looked at children that way the way she spoke. The woman seemed at most to tolerate the world around her. Yet she had really been looking at the tea cup. Oh there was something going on there and she wanted to know more.

It seemed though that Auntie wasn't having any of that considering the way she had snapped at her and disregarded the cup. The snap was nothing out of place, in fact of Auntie hadn't snapped at her that would have made her wonder. Thinking on it now as she watched the older woman march off, turn around, grab the tea cup, and then march back out the front area of General Supply that was not exactly the bitch session she had been expecting. She had expected a full chew out. Top to bottom for taking longer than needed to be taken. Yet there she was, standing alone, only being half dressed down before being left alone. Nikki wasn't going to complain but she knew she was about to start poking her nose into things she probably shouldn't.

Well not right away, she still had work to do. She could get to snooping around later. That was if she hurried her ass up and got this all done. Looking over at the clock on the wall she noted the time. The funerals didn't usually take that long, as long as nothing went wrong, hopefully Amelia would be back sooner than later. Either way, it wouldn't matter how quickly the woman got back if Nikki didn't have the carts done. Taking a breath she looked down at the clip board and thumbed through it before getting to work on getting the carts in order. The faster she got this done the sooner she could start finding out just why a tea cup was so important to the woman, why that tea cup was important. It wasn't like that was the first tea cup that had come into Camp Mexico Beach.

Hospital/Medical (B): Mary chuckled a bit. "Well if you get done too fast I'm sure I can find something else to fill your time," she said with a smirk before heading out herself and making sure that everything was locked up tight before she did. Things for Lisa are going smooth, very smooth. Cleaning is going quick. Lisa has done this time and time again. It should only take an little more than an hour currently to get everything else done, which if she stays on this time table she will be done before dinner with about half an hour to spare. She can try to get done faster by making a skill roll to knock off 10 minutes if she passes, though if she fails she will add 10 minutes. Crit fails? Message me. Roll does not have to be taken but once called and rolled, it sticks.

Inside Jail (AA): Now, the smell is there and things are just the same as they were last round. Thing is there is one more thing. Something furry with a tail crawls out of a crack under the cot in the next cell over. It's in the shadows so it is hard to tell exactly what it is but it is clear - it could easily be a rat. Roll on Minor Fear Table (In the original OOC post) and post accordingly.

Hydroponic Garden (T) -> Streets of CMB (N5): Everything is calm, hot but calm. It is full afternoon now and people are avoiding the streets as much as possible. So if they aren't on a detail that requires them to get from point A to point B or have to work in the sun they aren't going to be. Can't exactly blame people about that. When you have a choice of Hell's Kitchen or a nice air conditioned room with a view you're gonna do what you're gonna do. A few are out there, eitehr driving supplies or heading this way or that. Classes are being let out for the evening so there are more children on the streets than normal. Most are heading directly to the housing area. Dinner is still a bit off so the only ones dealing with Mess are already in there cooking and prepping. There is a nice scent in the air, something citrusy.

General Supply (R): Someone must have paid Auntie off because she isn't cussing under her breath right now and wondering where the hell Nikki is and why she isn't back already. She is standing there looking at an old tea cup and saucer she has run across and finding it very interesting. At least interesting enough to where she has her mind focused on that and not the amount of time that has passed.

CMB Graveyard (Graves -> Bus): Things couldn't be going better for the group right then all things considered. Yes they were saying goodbye to people they knew and/or cared about but there has been nothing outside of that going wrong. Tatiana and Jack both seem to understand where Ash is coming from. Hugging the man back before letting go. Jack held on a little longer than Tatiana did. Tati seemed more put off than normal when it came to affection but she had been like that since she met back up with Ash and Amelia and the others.

"Alright, time to go back," Atticus finally said and gave a sweeping hand gesture with his free hand as he slipped his bible into the back of his jeans and drew his pistol again. Bass and Joaquin fell back to where they had been, Bass in the front, Joaquin in the back. Daytona nodded and waited for Bass to start walking before gesturing to the group to follow him towards the bus. Each of those on the job swept with their eyes and their weapons as they covered the group back to the bus.

Bass stopped at the door as Daytona came up and unlocked it, pushing the door opening and climbing into the bus, Bass following her and taking the first seat as he started getting the bags open and laid out on the seat itself as he stood there. Sitting down in the driver seat Daytona turned it on and then motioned for the others to climb on up. "Hand over all weapons to Bass as you enter the bus," Daytona announced as Atticus and Joaquin followed and took up the rear as they waited for the group to board, hand over the weapons, and take a seat.

Gavin, why did he had to insist on going with her? Why did he leave in the first place to go with James. Why couldn't that damn cowboy realize this wasn't the old west and he wasn't Wild Bill Hickok? She knew the answers to those questions and so many more. It was because that was just how Gavin was. It was just who he was. The man was born over a 100 years too late. He would have done well in the old west, a gun slinging town sheriff, driving out the riff raff. He would have loved it, yelling yee-haw all the way. He would have gone down in history, she knew that. Maybe in another life.

A sad smile came to her lips before Nigel speaking snapped her out of it. "Sounds good Atlas," she said with the same small sad smile. Reaching out she patted him on the shoulder with her free hand as she tucked the paper work under her other arm. "Sooner we are out of this heat the better," she added as she made sure the place was locked up and they were ready to go. One last glance around and she motioned towards the north west a bit. "Just over to admin."

One foot in front of the other. Thana had to admit it was nice to have Nigel around. He wasn't annoying and helped her keep her mind off things. Granted he also made her think but helped pull her back. Others might have annoyed her, Ash would have kept her mind on anything but work, yeah she should handle Nigel as her right hand for now. Who knew, maybe he could be a more steady second hand for her than just the week. She'd have to see in a few days, see if the novelty of a new person wore off.

"And yeah, back to the others, no, not the type to make it here. There was a trade a few years back I heard that did not go well. Trade of people. Where a few wanting to leave there came here for sanctuary. I don't know the whole story but I know things got a lot tighter around here after that and haven't let up since," Thana said as she walked across the street towards the Officer quarters and then headed west down the main street towards where the Administration Building was.

Nikki knew she had two options right then. She could go in through the front door. Going in the front door would be the fastest way. It would get her in the building, be the most direct route, and shave a minute off the trip. Not to mention it would get her out of the sun fast. Thing was, it also meant that Auntie would be alerted as soon as she stepped in the door and she would be sweating and trying to cool down while probably getting chewed out. That really didn't seem like a good idea to the younger woman. She wanted to give herself an edge if she could.

The edge she wanted meant she had to go in the back. Which sucked. It meant she would need to go around the building, be out in the sun even longer. Granted it would only be another minute or two but in this heat every second counted. Yet it meant she could come in through the area that Auntie was most likely not in. It meant she would get a few moments to cool down before Auntie was aware she was there if she was lucky. Meant if she was going to get chewed out she would at least had a chance to stop sweating by then.

Deciding the back was her best option, Nikki went in the back. The coast seemed clear as she fanned herself and let out a long sigh of relief as the air conditioning hit her skin and started to cool her down quickly. Slow steps and looking around, she didn't call out. At least not until she came out from the back to the front and spotted Auntie by the carts, looking at a tea cup. Sighing she might as well get this over with. "I'm back," she announced as she walked quickly with her head down towards a cart and started loading it up.

Hospital/Medical (B): Closing and locking the midway door once Lisa was through Mary then started to change out of her hazmat suit. She hung it back up where it blonged before she went about finishing up getting everything in order. Her brow quirked a bit and she sighed. "Yeah, get that fuckin' lab done before you head out. Don't know when the funeral detail will be back. Needs to be done."

Waiting for Lisa to finish up, Mary unlocked the other door and stepped through, waiting once again for Lisa to come through so she could lock it back up fully. "This is how it is going to go when you are not in class with the Professor. Mornings teaching the new guy, afternoons learning your new trade. At least until he has been shown all the duties and can handle you more as a supervisor role instead of instructing," she added as she waited. "Alright, go on, get that done before dinner. You know how bad food states when all you can smell is disinfectant."

Inside Jail (AA): Things in the jail cell are quiet. Only thing that will be making noise within those walls right now is Hunter. One cannot hear upstairs or what is going on outside. There is a slight smell coming from the coagulated blood on the floor and the bits of brain and skin on the wall. Granted this is nothing compared to the way Walkers smell so other than a quick "oh that's what the smell is" it isn't fetching a lot of attention. Well, other than the tooth in it. Not that the tooth is a big thing but it does have a little meat on it and things like that do attract things. Maybe not have to worry about the Walkers in a cell. Pretty safe there. But bugs or other things crawling out of a hole somewhere? Who knows.

Hydroponic Garden (T): While there was a bit of a reprieve when it came to the heat inside the greenhouse that is gone. Wind dies off and it makes you wish you were dead. It is amazing just how quickly things can start to feel like an oven when there isn't any breeze. That little bit of air flowing about seemed to have made all the difference in the world and now that it is gone, the air is almost suffocating, even to those that are used to Southern Summers.

General Housing (X): Everything is calm in the general housing area. Being it is one of the hottest points of the day there are very few people outside. Some but they are mostly just moving from point A to point B. Nothing more and doing so as quickly as possible so they don't have to stay out in the heat any longer than they have to.

General Supply (R): Auntie is working in general supply. She has carts of gear and supplies rolled out from the back and is going through them to load them up on the carts that have to be taken to different areas of the town before the night is over. She is looking rather vexed, not that she isn't normally vexed, but her scowl is getting a bit harsher than normal at this time and speaking of time she keeps checking that watch of hers.

CMB Graveyard: Overall, things in the graveyard are calm. Nothing is causing any undue noise or getting the guards attention more than they general sweeps are calling for. Bass and Joaquin are walking, pacing around. Making a large sweeping circled around the main group and slowly moving outward. Daytona is standing with the group, her eyes darting from those mourning to the bus and back again, as if she was making sure the path was clear if they needed to make a break for it.

Atticus nodded and let Amelia say what she needed. It seemed that this was the way with most that came on the bus. The mention of a tea set got Atticus to raise his brow but he didn't say anything. He was sure they all had their own tales about these people. He had heard a few about others that had been buried here from those already in the camp. He couldn't help but give a slight chuckle and smile towards Ash as he talked about James. Ryan he hadn't said much about but it was clear that James meant a lot to Ash. Looking over as Tatiana and Jack stood there it was clear he meant a lot to them as well. Jack was openly tearing up. Tatiana not so much but her jaw was tight and she was shaking slightly. James had surely left his mark on the people of Newnan.

Turning his head Atticus nodded. "I will make sure that gets added," he said to Thalia as he whipped out his bible and wrote down the missing information for the woman. "Thank you," he added once he had written it down. Glancing around it seemed that everyone had said their piece. "We will give you all a few more minutes with your thoughts before we head back," Atticus said to the group in general before taking a step back and letting them have just that.

Sighing a bit, Thana wasn't going to lie. She nodded as she finished changing out of her wet suit. "Think these days if you are drawing a breath you have to worry about other people but yeah. These guys... They aren't right. Like they went feral to a point. Waterworld, Mad Max, Thunderdome Hicks. We trade as little with them as we possibly can." Turning and sitting down on the edge of a bench, Thana picked up her boots and started to unwad her socks so she could get them on. "At least that's the vib. We ain't sure. Maybe they just got bad manners and do it for show. Either way, no wantin' to go in and find out personally."

It was about the time that Thana got her boots back on that the wind seemed to stop and she groaned. It was hot. It had been hot all day but now it was sitting like a ten ton elephant on ones chest that was sweating water that was bath tub temperature. Taking a short huff of a breath, Thana finished shoving her feet into her boots and tucked the laces. "Ugh, fuck this, let's go file the paper work and get out of the heat," Thana suggested as she grabbed the clipboard off the wall and moved quickly towards the door.

Stepping outside she waited for Nigel. She would need to lock up before they headed anywhere else. Yet just stepping back outside was a heavy relief compared to how it felt inside the green house. "But back to the Bayou people, yeah worry but not enough to lose sleep. They ain't Eden from what I can gather which is good. That place..." Thana's words trailed off. She would never forget what she saw in Eden. The way it looked, smelled, the faces of each person she put a bullet in. The look on Gavin's. Closing her eyes she swallowed hard. It still wasn't any easier thinking back on it. Especially now, when she had time to look back, to remember. Not being on the run constantly trying to survive made you face what you didn't want to.

It had been an eventful day to say the least. Breakfast hadn't been anything big, in and out before having to get to work this morning. Amelia had turned out to be alright when it came to the job, granted their job wasn't rocket science. If someone couldn't handle restocking or cleaning chances were they weren't meant for a place like this. Maybe other settlements but not this one. But Amelia was doing alright, save dealing with dogs apparently. Well if IZi was going to be staying with her and Lisa then Amelia wasn't going to be visiting anytime soon that was for sure.

Visits would have to wait for others as well. Seemed Hunter had been locked up, or at least that was what she was figuring. She would have to find out exactly what happened later. Well she didn't have but she wanted to. She was nosey. Maybe Cage would like a visitor. Probably not but it wasn't like Nikki cared. At least she didn't care if Cage did or did not want visitors but then again Hunter had left a bad taste in her mouth earlier. She didn't need to go running off to check on him. If he couldn't survive a few days in the tank that was his problem. She'd survived two weeks in there and she was a kid then. Granted to hear some speak she was still a kid. Maybe she was.

Either way, it didn't matter. She needed to get back to Supply and Auntie. She had been walking towards Supply while she was thinking. It was hot as hell out but it wasn't as bad as it could be. She remembered the week she spent working in the greenhouse. The only heat worse than the Greenhouse was the sewers... The thought alone made her gag. Shaking it off she picked up her pace and made a beeline for the General Supply Building.

Hospital/Medical (B): Nary gave a pursed look towards Lisa. One of her looks that could easily be read as 'mmhmm.' It wasn't positive or negative, it was just her neutral thing, that was until she got mad. Thankfully right then Mary wasn't mad, at least not directly. There was rumor that the woman was always mad and just had lulls in energy to express that anger. Maybe now was one of those times. Either way it didn't matter. She wasn't snapping or yelling so that was good and she had just given the closest thing to a compliment that she got. All in all, a good day. At least in the lab.

"Yeah, the Professor will be expecting you actually. Your duties will be split between here with me and in the classroom again. Your new schedule should be under your door come tomorrow morning," Mary said as she glanced around. "Things are good here. Now to get out of here. I want you to take the rest of the day to calm down and relax. Biggest thing you are going to learn doing this is that being clam in here is more important than anything," she added as she moved to the inner door and unlocked it. Pulling it open she waited for Lisa to get into the midpoint so she could lock up and they could get out of their suits.

Inside Jail (AA): Cage half huffed and half chuckled as Hunter went face first onto the cot in the room. One could hear the older springs that held the thin mattress in place give beneath the prisoner. Roy didn't say anything or even make a sound. he just watched with his hand on his pistol. He didn't think the kid was going to try anything but then again he hadn't thought they would be locking him up today either. Roy took a step back so that Cage could close the door. The sound of the tumblers falling into place echoed in the cell block as the Warden locked Hunter in there.

"Meals will be delivered three times a day. One change of clothing will be brought each morning. You are expected to change out and have your old clothing folded and by the bars by lunch time. Keep quiet, keep to yourself, don't cause problems," Cage said. Roy rolled his eyes some as Cage started making his way back up the stairs. "Don't forget I need a clean up crew in here Gregory."

Roy nodded. "Yeah, you'll get one," Roy said before looking at Hunter. "Just keep your nose clean and your mouth shut kid and you should be alright. Dinner will be brought in two hours. Next meal will be breakfast, then lunch six hours later, then dinner six hours after that. Use that to tell time," he suggested before turning and heading up the stairs. The door around the corner and at the top of the stairs closed hard and locked: leaving Hunter alone and in dead silence with no sounds or sights or lights from the outside in the basement cell block within the settlement of Camp Mexico Beach.

Hydroponic Garden (T): Everything in the garden is going well. In fact perfectly well. So well that a breeze is catching through the vents in the roof and things are tolerable in there for now. Any work done this round will also come off just fine without issue. Looks like things will be nice and easy this round. Enjoy it because lord only knows what will happen next.

General Housing (X): Everything in general housing is calm and nothing big is happening. Izi is settling down inside and isn't causing any problems at the current time. The apartment is warmer than one might expect but the air conditioner was turned up while Nikki and Lisa were going to be out for the day. How most places do if people aren't in them or on a day off. Saves on power to not have the AC running the whole day with no one there.

CMB Graveyard: Bass looked over to Manny and cocked a brow. If the man knew that then he wouldn't have done what he did. "His name is Bass. Not boy and apparently you aren't old enough to take a simple reminder from a superior with grace and dignity or let what a kid says roll off your back..." Atticus pipped in after Mannys rant. "Maturity comes at any age and old age doesn't equal it. Try taking a step back next time. A rant like that in this situation could have made a guard to keep his focus on you too long and not where it needed to be. Something that could have cost a life." Atticus was flat with his delivery. He wasn't quiet though, letting his voice carry enough to let others hear it. The he shook his head and leaned in some more. "You owe him an apology when this is over if you are half the man your age denotes you should be," Atticus said quietly to Manny.

Shaking his head Atticus turned and scanned the area again. Something that Bass was already doing. Bass had taken the rant in and said nothing nor given any indication that it bothered him. He stayed focused on his job. Protecting those there. He wasn't the only one. Joaquin was as well but he listened to his sister speak and glanced towards the newly dug grave. The usually overly verbal man responded much like his uncle may have: singularly. "Culo."

"Path is clear Padre," Bass said as he glanced back over his shoulder.

"Right, Bass on point. I'll take second. Daytona mid range, Shakespeare the rear," he said before raising his gun as started stepping. Bass nodded and ran forward to take point. "Alright y'all, this way," Atticus followed up as he started walking. Joaquin waited for the rest to start moving so he could fall in behind them.

Daytona glanced over towards Thalia and gave a bit more of an explanation as she walked. "Guys name was Dimsdale. He'd been with us since nearly the beginning. Not a bad guy but sometimes he was stupid. Ran his mouth, got one peoples bad side. Not that we don't have plenty of those in town. Thing is, he pushed to far and was got busted harboring a weapon. Was locked up and facing tribunal. Decided he wanted to try to escape I guess and started to, well ram his head into the bars. Figuring the Warden would try to stop him or I don't know. Either way, Cage doesn't play games. He let him bleed out. Knife to the head later when he turned and body got brought out this morning to be buried," she explained before pointing out some blood and dirt that was on Bass and Joaquins clothing that wasn't exactly noticeable unless someone was looking for it.

"Here we are," Atticus said as they came to some tombstones. They had had to walk through several long rows of them to get where they were going. It was hot out and not in the shade so things were only going to get worse. Atticus holstered his weapon before pulling out a bandana and wiping the sweat from his brow. The tombstones were simple enough, not actual tombstones but looking like they were 1x1 foot concrete slabs that one might use as a patio. In each one a name was carved. Lola didn't have a date of birth listed, just a date of death. James and Ryan had both. Gavin had both and below that it was carved roughly 'One Riot, One Ranger.'

"Would y'all want me to say a few words or do you just want to do this yourselves?" Atticus asked. Either was fine for him. He had learned a long time ago that everyone wanted to do this differently. Some wanted to tell about the deceased, some just stared blankly or wept, others needed Atticus to do a religious service for them so they could say it was done but didn't have to do it themselves. He was there to do what they needed, even if that was nothing.

Standing there as she was waiting for things to at least even out by the door, Thana nodded to Nigels question slash statement. She understood his surprise. She had felt similar when she found out. "Yeah, you aren't the only one. Shocked the shit out of me when I found out," she admitted before turning and heading into the greenhouse. Now that the wind was picking up some it wasn't as bad as it could be and tolerable enough to be able to start changing out of their wetsuits, which she knew once they were out of those things would be a look cooler for the both of them.

Unlocking the cabinet where they stored the suits, Thana started to change out but stayed on the topic at hand: other settlements. "You're world is going to get a lot bigger once you are fully integrated into the community. There isn't just other settlements, there is a network of them. Ones that have been working together for a while, one has been working with CMB for the last four years from what I know. Where we get out paper from," Thana said pointing off to the east.

"A group set up in an old papermill. Most of them used to work there before all this happened. They keep it running, use its heat to grow in the winter, very industrial set up but it works for them. The stench though... Few things will make my eyes water, that place does," she said as a chill ran down her back. Sighing she stepped out of her wetsuit before hanging it inside the locker. Turning she found her shorts and slipped them back on. "Then again, I'd rather deal with that place than the Bayou... Those boys... Real Deliverance type..."

Stepping into her apartment Nikki let out a sigh of relief. Even though they had pretty much turned the air conditioner off when they had left that morning the apartment was still decently cool. The place was well insulated and they kept the thick curtains drawn during the day to keep the cool air inside the place. There were a lot of little things the community had done over the years that helped keep things cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Not that it really ever got cold in Florida but hey it was there if they really needed it. Hopefully they wouldn't. She had spent enough winters in the cold when she was younger. Younger, that was funny to her. Didn't matter she was only twenty she had a younger self, a pre shit hitting the fan self that used to think that snow was fun. Now, imagining dealing with walkers hidden under drifts made her thankful for the heat. At least then they weren't hidden beneath one more thing.

Walking through the living room area Nikki turned the air conditioner back on for the apartment. She figured Izi would prefer it a few degrees cooler than it was and she didn't want it getting any hotter. The evenings right before sunset was always the hottest point in the day. "Come on girl," Nikki said before grabbing the leash and leading Izi to Nikki's personal bed room. It was best to keep the dog locked up in her room until she got a chance to talk to Lisa. Even if Lisa agreed to the dog staying in the apartment with them it didn't mean she was going to be okay with Izi being let loose in the apartment to get on everything. Nikki didn't care but better safe than sorry right now.

Shutting the door, she made sure it was secure before moving back through the apartment. Right before she reached the door she stopped and figured she better leave a note just in case Lisa showed up at the apartment before she got a chance to talk to her. Grabbing some paper and a pen she wrote a quick note. "Dog in my room, will explain later, don't kill me. - Nikki" Putting the pen back up Nikki headed back out of the apartment and shut the door behind her. She wedged the note into the door so it would be the first thing that Lisa saw if she came back. Nodding to herself as if to say good work, Nikki locked the door. It was time to get back to Auntie before she blew a gasket that she had been away too long.

Weather Forecast: Dawn at 5:57 A.M. - Dusk at 7:41 P.M. - High: 87F, Low: 72F - Winds SW at 4mph - Gusting to 10mph - No rain - Cloud Cover: 26% - Visibility: 9miles.

Notes: Once again: Repeating since some more will likely be hitting the heat this round - We are well into the afternoon now so we are at the hottest part of the day (near 90's), so make sure to act accordingly if you are out in the heat. As it is summer in Florida, it is always humid and the winds are near nothing so you will be sitting in hot, moist, sauna like air and it will hit you like opening an oven when you step outside.

Please make note of the following - you can think your character is smart or fast or skilled but without rolls and stats to back it up, it isn't so. Also, something I forgot to mention earlier but read through all the skills that are available. Things like loading weapons or drawing actually take a combat turn. (Why there are skills like Ambidexterity and Quick Draw) So not having weapons loaded will mean you are a round behind even before a fight starts as you will have to take a round to try to load your weapon in the middle of combat. (And a round behind IF you pass a roll, if you fail you are even further behind as BT are 1 action per round unless you have a skill for more and such.)

Example of unloaded and holstered weapon - round 1: Draw weapon (if you pass the roll) - round 2: Load the weapon (if you pass the roll) - round 3: Shoot your target (if you pass the roll). Example of a loaded weapon in hand - round 1: Shoot your target (if you pass the roll.) Be the one with a loaded weapon in hand if you think a fight could happen, don't be caught with your pants down. So if you need to make corrections will give you it this time, next time you will have to have your character pass an INT check to remember they fouled up.

Hospital/Medical (B): Mary continued to watch, her head tilting to the side. As Lisa finished, Mary made a few notes in her folder before standing up and going to check the womans work. She was pretty sure that Lisa had gotten it right but she had to check it and run some tests on it before she would be absolutely sure enough to administer the antibiotic to someone in need. Yet from all outwardly signs it looked good to go. After a few minutes of going over things a few times and a startling silence in the room, Mary finally looked over to Lisa.

"You aren't supposed to get it like that. Took me eight years of college to get my doctorate, and four years in this post apocalyptic hell to be willing to do this shit without a manual and on the fly. Your first day, you did alright," Mary said as she started putting things away. They would have to store, clean, and sterilize the room before they left it. For Mary to say that Lisa did alright was like the Pope making someone a Saint. It was big, huge. She never said people did alright. Maybe an 'eh, or a 'well you didn't kill anyone. "So, I'll start putting things away, you come behind and sterilize. Same procedure as the lab, just suited," she explained as she turned back to Lisa's new batch of medication and started to put it away so it could age and then be tested for full viability.

Inside Jail (AA): Cage whipped his head around and looked like he was about to put Hunter through a wall. "You're gonna be a pain in my ass aren't ya? Oh wait, no you won't because you're gonna be locked down here, alone, until they get to you. Good luck tracking the days," Cage said before turning back around and heading around the corner.

Roy stopped moving Hunter forward and grunted. The man hadn't said anything really besides to crack a small joke or to tell others to take it easy. Yet, Hunter opened his mouth, again, and it wasn't anything good. "Kid, seriously, just shut the fuck up and you'll be better off if you don't say shit that pops into your mind...," Roy said quietly before pushing Hunter forward and taking him around the corner at the bottom of the stairs to follow where Cage had gone.

Around the corner was the cells. The entire Basement was concrete blocks, there were bars dividing off three cells with a prison like cot and toilet in each one. The first was they passed must have been what was referred to as Cell A. It did need cleaning. There was blood pooled in the floor, staining it by a drain that was built in. There was a tooth in the blood that was coagulated and one could see where there was a a bit of hair stuck to the wall in blood and skin. "He wasn't kidding about letting you bleed out if you self harm," Roy said as they passed the cell.

"Fucking Dimsdale, that asshat should have been kicked out three months ago," Cage barked as he walked over to the next cell and unlocked it. "Shit brain thought I'd run in if he kept it up. I warned him," the man added as he stood there.

Roy breathed out and nodded as he started to undo Hunters handcuffs. Once they were off, his hand went to his pistol and he took a step back. "Alight kid, into the cell, don't do anything stupid..." Roy said as he watched.

Streets of CMB (P6) -> Hydroponic Garden (T): Road to the Hanging Gardens are clear and everything is calm in that sector. Nothing of note good or bad, it is just neutral.

Streets of CMB (L8) -> General Housing (X): Thankfully Izi gave up her pursuit of the cat rather quickly. Why, it was unclear, but as fast as she had started running off after the cat she stopped. Now that that is done, and the dog is done being well a dog, things are calm in the area. Nikki and Izi are getting a few looks from some people sitting out around their apartments but it isn't every day that someone sees a dog try to drag a little blonde girl by the wrist through the camp. People get their entertainment where they can these days.

The Bus (Outside of CMB -> Graveyard): "Yer welcome," Bass said and he gave a small smile to Amelia as he finished handing over weapons: Tatiana and Jack were both given Glocks, Riley was handed a cross bow that was still folded in. "Wait till we get off the bus to open that," Bass said to Riley before he started zipping up one of the bags. Tatiana and Jack seemed to be on the same page as they checked their weapons and flipped the safety's on before starting to scan outside of the window.

Bass looked over at Manny and cringed. "Sir, we gave ya that loaded fer a reason. Just used the safety..." Bass said in a tone that was respectful but slightly sounded like a kid trying to show grandpa how to use the internet. Standing up, he picked up the bag he had zipped shut and handed it over to Atticus, who shoved it in the front seat behind Daytona. He took a moment to look over at Alexander, the man was being quiet and wasn't saying anything. Bass wasn't one to ponder why, so he left the man to be with his thoughts or vigilance, whichever it was. Having to go to a funeral was never fun, especially these days when it seemed people were burying or having to leave behind far more than they ever found.

"Sparrow said you could handle it," Bass said but it wasn't clear if he was speaking to Thalia or Ash, maybe he was talking to both of them. It didn't matter. They were coming to the grave yard. There were high brick walls that blocked the initial spotting. The gate was closed, iron bars. Daytona pulled to a stop. Attitcus snapped his bible closed and rolled it, tucking it into the large pocket of his cargo pants. Unholstering his gun, he waited for the door to open before breathing out and raising his gun. The heat hit him hard. God he hated the weather down here, it was worse than Texas as far as he was concerned. He stepped down, checking both sides before proceeding forward. Bass followed in the mans path as Joaquin moved to the front of the bus and unslung his rifle his back.

"Alright stay on the bus until we are inside, the gate is locked, and you get the clear from the Padre," Daytona said as Bass and Atticus went to unlock the gate and open it. Padre did all the unlocking and opening, Bass scanning the area and having the priests six. Daytona pulled the bus forward. Inside the gate it was an older grave yard, there were some newer headstones and even an unmarked grave that looked like it had to be fresh that morning. Yet for the most part the place looked old with trees and moss hanging from them. Behind them the Padre locked the gate back up. He and Bass started following the bus but their eyes were darting all over the place as they walked slowly, guns raised as they swept the area.

Daytona pulled the bus to a stop under an old oak tree, in the shade. Turning it off, she stood up and unholstered her .45 from her hip and flipped the safety off. Coming up to the back of the bus Atticus knocked on the driver's window and gave a thumbs up to Daytona. Opening the door to the bus Joaquin stepped down and took point to the left of the door. "Alright y'all file out and stay close to the bus," she said as she stood there out of the way. She would exit the bus last.

That comment made Thana chuckle as she kept limping down the road. "Not till you outrank me you don't," she said with a smirk before sticking her tongue out at the man. Yes, it was a very adult and officer like way to act right then. Chuckling she kept moving, strolling back towards the gardens where they could get cleaned up a bit. Not to mention get changed out of the wet suits they were wearing. Hers was only still wet thanks to the sweat. Black rubber wasn't exactly the most breathable thing and if one wasn't careful in a Floridian Summer the damn thing could make one sweat out the majority of their body weight in an hour Thana was willing to wager. Or at least it felt like that. She figured the thing could end up being a new method of torture if the Camp was into going Gitmo on someone's ass. Not that she thought anyone in camp would be dumb enough or run their mouths enough to get that type of treatment. Then again, she didn't know everyone.

Looking over to Nigel as he started asking some question, Thana nodded. "Actually yeah," she said as she pulled out her keys and unlocked the door to the Greenhouse. She motioned towards Nigel to take a step back and away before she swung the door open. The added heat that the greenhouse brought seemed to rush out of the building as the door opened like a hurricane of heat suddenly. Like opening the oven set to broil. Thana cringed and let out a sharp breath. "Ugh I fucking hate that..." she said before just standing there. "Gonna give it a minute." It was a quick explanation to why she wasn't immediately stepping inside. Not that the heat was going to really drop now that the door was open but it did even out and bridge the temp between the greenhouse and the outside by the door. Best way to adjust before stepping into something even hotter than just the surrounding air.

"Oh, back to your question," she said, getting back to the topic that had been at hand. Thana stood there, sweating bullets and huffing every so often, she began to talk some about how the Camp got more food. "Most fish is our protein source. Less walkers able to get ahold of things in the water. There is a hunting team but they don't get much these days. We do trade however with other settlements. One is a farm, another is well like a Ranch I guess you could say. I ain't seen a trade with either of them yet but I know I'll have to go at one point. I've only been on one trade so far and that was for things like toilet paper - the new world currency. I think some days I'd trade food for some double ply. I hate fucking leaves..." Thana said with half a laugh. She was only half joking. "Especially the time I didn't pay attention and grabbed poison ivy... Itched for a fucking week..."

"Izi! Damn it!" Nikki grunted. She was sweating. Granted that wasn't exactly form getting pulled by the dog. One could blink in this heat and break a sweat but then again being pulled by a dog that probably weighed close to what she did was no picnic either. She was sure she could get around something and use the leash to slow the dog down if it came to that but she didn't want to have to do that. She liked the dog. The dog was sweet and really hadn't caused any problems since she arrived. Sure she probably put some people off by the way she looked but that didn't bother Nikki.

Well, normally. Right now it was pissing her the fuck off. That was until the dog suddenly decided the cat was no longer worth her time. Or at least that was what Nikki figured it was. Otherwise she couldn't understand why the dog would stop chasing. Maybe the heat was getting to Izi as well. Either way, Nikki really didn't care and she wasn't complaining. Her arm no longer felt like it was getting pulled out of its socket. Coming to a stop herself, Nikki let out a sigh and a hard breath. She knew she was going to have to grab a shower tonight but that was to get last night off her, not a mid day jog.

Turning she started leading Izi back to the apartments. "Yeah, yeah, ha ha," Nikki quipped noticing people looking at her and the dog. Rolling her eyes she popped her gum with a little more zest than she normally did before reaching the door to her and Lisa's apartment. Unlocking the door she shooed the dog inside. She would need to get Izi some water before she left and it would probably be a good idea to lock the dog up in her bed room, at least until she spoke with Lisa. Yet speaking with Lisa would have to wait until she got off work. Turning she looked back around the housing area real fast.
I think all characters have a facet or two of their creators in them. Not fully the Rper but similarities here and there. Especially when someone is just starting out in the RP world. Think one of the reasons people have a hard time staying true to character concept is because they make them too much like themselves or start shifting from what they wanted the character to be to themselves since over time it is easier to just type your initial gut reaction instead of thinking within a characters own mind. One the flip side having one or two traits in common with your character can make it easier to stay in character for the traits that aren't in line, an anchor point if you will.

Now, onto the actual question. Yes, I have one that is me. Fully me. Even named Jenn. Why? A friend of mind hosted an Rp and wanted to do a Self-Insert RP. The group went along. We had to draw up our stats based our actual selves. From intellect, to strength, reflexes, etc. Your character could only have skills you actually possessed. Then we were thrown into an Rp setting and had to face the various scenarios he threw at us. That had to be the most challenging Rp for me to do. You had to look at yourself, really. Not what you wanted to be, or what people told you to be nice. It was a tough introspective. Even tougher to Rp. One might think rping yourself is easy but when you are limited by yourself, by true stats, by not what you want your character to do but by what you would really do it makes you take a hard look at yourself.

Hospital/Medical (B): Seeing that Lisa was having a bit of trouble this time wasn't too surprising to Mary. This was what she had expected at the beginning. That the woman would get a step or two and then need to go back and fix something else. Yet she wasn't saying anything. Lisa hadn't fucked up so badly that she would have to scrap the entire thing, she was just missing something here and there. This wasn't exactly an easy process to begin with. On top of that Mary wasn't instructing Lisa, she gave her a walk through as it were and expected her to figure it out. There was a reason behind this. If something happened to Mary, how to make the drugs they used in camp was written down. Lisa needed to be able to follow them blindly if shit hit the fan and Mary was not available. There was no way they would probably ever get through all of them, so the most important part of all this was actually seeing how well Lisa could interpret Marys instructions. It was a learning process for both of them.

(Lisa has another round to go now to see if she can finish this up. She has one step left and three more chances to get it right. Good luck and may the odds be ever in her favor.)

Outside Jail -> Inside Jail (AA): Roy stood there eying Cage. "What?" Cage asked but Roy just shook his head as Maddoc finished up the paper work and handed it over to Cage. Cage took a look over it, his brows raising slightly. "Wow, you really know how to fuck yourself over kid..." he said in half a laugh before shrugging and hanging the clipboard back up. "Alright, bring him in and put him in cell B. A still needs cleaning," he said as he pulled out some keys from his pocket that were attached to his belt loop.

"Why the hell does it still need cleaning?" Maddoc barked.

"Cause Sea Team got in and we got pushed to the back fucking burner. Supply wasn't expecting to need cells cleaned today. That's the fucking reason why. Don't like it blame him," Cage barked back pointing to Hunter. "Or Checkbook, Auntie had her do the schedule for today," he added as he unlocked the front door.

Roy just sighed as he started to lead Hunter up the stairs. "He means it, you go and self harm he will let you bleed out," Roy warned Hunter.

Inside it was much like a normal house. In fact it looked exactly like a normal home. A couch and TV in the living room, ect. Set up just like other places in the camp that were used as housing. This place actually had a little more. Everything seemed a little too normal, that was until one spotted the door in the hallway. It was steel, with a small window. Cage walked past them and headed for the door. "I need a fucking clean team," Cage remarked as he started to unlock the door.

"I'll look into it. Keep it up Cage and only help you'll get it a bottle bleach and a bucket and you can do it your damn self," Roy warned. Cage huffed as he flung the door open and flipped a switch. The light came on and he started down a set of steel stairs that were walled on both sides with concrete. At the bottom was, what one could see, a wall of concrete blocks.

Streets of CMB (L5 -> P6): Outside of being hot as hell, things are calm on the streets and where Thana and Nigel are walking the place is pretty empty once they cross the main road and are on their way back towards the Hydroponic Gardens.

Streets of CMB (I6 -> L8): Things are going good for Nikki, despite being hot. That is until they get close to where her and Lisa's apartment is. It is about that time that Izi see's an orange cat speed by as if its tail is on fire and for some reason the dog decides it's a good time to put on a chase. Yanking hard on the leash as she jumps and barks, running after the cat.

(Thana and Nigel are the only ones close enough to do a perception check to see if they hear the barking. Roll against Per (1d100), pass to hear (score or lower), fail to not.)

Streets of CMB (The Bus: Q6) -> Outside CMB: Things were much like it had when the group had been brought into the camp that first day. They had to wait for the gates before they could leave, both of them. And currently Daytona was waiting for that inner gate before stepping back on the gas and putting the bus into gear. She had gotten the call back that they were prepping for the gate to open but it hadn't yet so they hadn't left yet. The inner gate finally opened after a few minutes and Daytona pulled forward.

While she was pulling the bus forward Bass waited. He wasn't speaking anymore. His eyes glancing around as the bus pulled into the space between the inner and outer gates. Joaquin's eyes seemed to stares blankly forward, as if he wasn't focusing on anything in particular but taking in what was happening. The Padre simply leaned against the corner of the bus near the door, down on the steps making him look a lot shorter than he was. Not that he was particularly tall to start with.

The bus came to a stop as it came to a stop at the outer gate. The inner gate closed behind them. Once it was fully closed the outer gate opened. The road ahead looked clear and good to go. There was an exchange of nods between those that were escorting the group to the graveyard before Daytona started to pull forward. As soon as the bus was fully out of Camp Mexico Beach the outer gate closed and she leaned more into the gas. They were finally on their way properly.

Joaquin looked slightly towards Ash as the man started speaking Spanish. Bass wasn't paying attention to the conversation and the married couple didn't speak Spanish even if they were listening. Jack didn't seem to be at first, Tatiana was. Neither understood but both picked up on the word Alicia. Neither had known the woman but both had been around Newnan long enough to know of her and what she had meant to Ash. She was one of the reasons Froggy had put Tatiana on Ash's case. Joaquin however, like his sister, knew the language as well if not better than English. His brow rose slightly and he looked very much like his uncle the way his jaw locked right then. He didn't say anything but his look seemed to echo his sisters words. He now had questions as well.

Being as they were outside the gate now and driving at a good speed, Bass picked back up to where he had left off. Unzipping the bag. It had guns and knives in it. Picking up a sheet of folded back lodged between the weapons he unfolded it. "A'right, talked to Gunny and got the okay fer ya. Talked to others, reviewed yer files. Think we gots this all in order. Rules are simple, don't hurt each other, weapons will be handed back over will all unspent ammo soon as you reboard the bus. Any screwing around or attempts to and I quote Maddog here 'fuck us over and we'll put a bullet in yer skull and dump yer body in walker pit, not necessarily in that order'."

"Man don't fuck around..." Padre said in passing as he flipped to another page in the bible he was thumbing through.

Bass blew out a long breath and nodded in agreement. "Naw he don't," he said before reading over the paper. "Alright, Newman," he started and Atticus pointed to Manny. Bass nodded and picked up a double barrel shot gun, he checked it before holding it out to him and a small pack of six more shells. "Polawski?" Atticus pointed to Alexander. The same was handed to him as Manny had gotten. "Payne?" Preacher pointed to Amelia. "Oh right," he said stepping over his bag and opening the other bag that was on the floor of the bus. He pulled out two things. One was a short axe, the other was a steel baseball bat that had short spikes welded to it like a mace. "Careful, they're sharp," he said with a thin lipped smile.

Turning back around he checked the paper. "Hollow.. oh Ash, right," he said looking over at the man before going back into the gun bag. He pulled out .45 ACP S&W 4506 and handed it over to the man. "Clips full," he added before looking back at the paper and rubbing the back of his neck. "Huh... I didn't," he started before a short whistle came from Joaquin and the Mexican motioned towards Alicia. "Shit, right," he said as he stood fully after pulling out a Beretta 9. Handing it to her he held up a hand. "Just a sec," he added as he bent to keep his head from knocking the ceiling of the bus as he made his way to the back of the bus and Joaquin moved to the side. Reaching behind the back seat he pulled out a familiar round shield. Turning around he headed back to her and handed it over.

"Five minutes out," Daytona informed the group as they turned down the forth or fifth street they had driven down since leaving the safety of the walls of Camp Mexico Beach.

Feeling the sweat drip down her back and roll further Thana was sharply reminded one of many reasons she had left south Georgia. The heat. And it wasn't so much the heat but the humidity that got to her. She had heard it time and time again growing up from many people. It's not the heat the gets you, it's the humidity. Thana had always thought that was bullshit. Heat was heat. Sure the humidity sucked but she didn't figure it sucked anymore or any less than any other type of heat. Her opinion was quickly changed the first summer she had spent in the dry heat of the Middle East. Yes, it got hot as hell there, hotter than Georgia many days but Thana had to admit she could handle the dry heat a lot better than the humid heat. It was the humidity that would kill you. It made you feel like you were drowning in a pot of boiling water, or being held hostage in a sauna far after your fifteen minutes were up.

Things like this made Thana question those old movies where men who ruled Mobs or other organized crime syndicates would meet in Saunas. It wasn't that she didn't believe it, it made her question how they handled it. It did provide a perfect cover for those types of meetings. No one in their right mind wanted to deal with that type of environment if they didn't have to. The biggest thing about humidity though for Thana wasn't how bad it made the heat but actually how bad it made the cold. It made the cold cling to you like falling through the ice. That was hell to her. True hell.

Her thoughts were derailed though as Nigel started taking. She glanced over to him and she chuckled slightly. He meant well enough it seemed and he wasn't wrong. The man was there to help her. "How about we settle on each carrying half of the world there Atlas," she said with a smirk. It was about as much as she was willing to give. She couldn't be upset at him for saying he had things. He didn't know her well, didn't know how she was, he was trying to help, and she figured part of his willingness to help was because he was new and trying to make a good impression. (Not that she knew this for sure, it was just what she suspected, though Thana was crap at reading people. She didn't inherit her fathers Jedi-like senses...More was the pity.) Maybe she just wasn't as perceptive as he was. She wasn't noticing somethings going on right then anyways.

Taking a deep breath as the door closed behind her, Nikki was debating just turning around and going back inside the building. It was hot as hell outside and even in the shade she was feeling the mugginess in the air. It wasn't the first time she had felt this. She felt it basically every day from Spring to until Fall, every year, since this whole shit storm happened, even before. Having the Ac was nice and it did a good job of making sure more people didn't die from a fucking heat stroke she reckoned but when you stepped out of a nice building kept at seventy-three degrees since it was mostly storage and it was instantly twenty to thirty degrees warmer and the humidity jumped by 50% Nikki thought two options would be great right then. Going the fuck back inside or saying fuck it, going to the beach and driving straight into the water.

Neither of them were options though. She needed to drop Izi off at her apartment and get the hell back to Auntie to get work done. There was not time to dillying or dallying. Which sucked for the young woman but she figured if she just hoofed it, and then busted ass once she got back she could be done with everything early and get a few minutes to herself before dinner. At least she hoped she could. She had somethings she wanted to think about and if she could catch Thana at the tail end of the woman's shift she wanted to ask her a few things, things she hadn't had a chance to since Thana had gotten back and with Ash being out on that funeral detail she figured it would be the only time to talk for a bit. Thana did seem rather wrapped up in the man.

Thing was, Nikki probably wasn't going to get a chance as she spotted a damn cat blaze across their path between the buildings. She rolled her eyes and was caught off guard as Izi took off. "God damn it!" she grunted as he arm was tugged forward harshly and then the rest of her body followed. Thankfully Nikki was dexterious enough to keep her footing and not end up face first on the ground to be drug by a dog. That being said she was having a hard time running to keep up even with Izi partly dragging her thanks to the leash on her wrist. "Ugh! Ack! Izi!" she tried to yell but the jerking kept the words from coming out loudly right then.

Hospital/Medical (B): Mary was watching Lisa intently. There was a slight smirk that played on the womans lips. "Oh there are worse things than death, some times death is a sweet release," Mary said with a slight chuckle as she took a seat on a stool and leaned back against the table behind her slightly. She had seen that enough to know that death was good, especially these days. Mary would rather be dead than bit and turn.

Mary kept watching Lisa, intently still. She needed to make sure that if Lisa messed up she caught it. This was something that could save lives but done incorrectly it could end them just as fast, or even worse, make someone wish they were dead. Yet it seemed that Lisa was getting this and getting this quickly. It was surprising. Very much so. She didn't have a doubt that Lisa could get this in time but to make it this far without a fuck up spoke wonders. Mary wondered how long it would keep up. (Now, repeat the last round. Three more rolls. She has only 2 steps left to finish, let's see how it goes this round.)

Mess Hall (C): The Goat looked over to Nigel and chuckled. "Oh that sounds good to me now get out of here before I start cutting more," he teased as he pointed to the large bucket full of onions. Seemed they were just started on the onion prep and it was only going to get a lot worse in that kitchen. Moralez was obviously used to this type of thing, his eyes weren't even red.

Out front Cook looked over towards Nigel as he came back out and smiled at the man. "Glad to hear it," she said before her eyes turned towards Thana. "And you let him help you, don't want a repeat of your recovery," she said in a warning voice as she handed back over the paperwork to Thana now that it was all taken care of for the time being.

Supply (R): "Yeah you better and keep her out of here!" Auntie hissed as Nikki moved past her. There was a look on the womans face that made her look like she had just finished downing a bottle of whiskey but was used to it. As if her mouth and body wanted to reject the alcohol but she wouldn't let it. "Not like we don't already have enough fur creatures in this place thanks to that damn mouse..." she added under her breath as she started towards the front of the building. She had things she needed to do. Stopping she looked over to where Nikki had been working before looking back at the girl. "Don't dally! I want you back BEFORE dinner!" she added as she continued on her way.

Outside Jail (AA): Will update next round.

Streets of CMB (The Bus: I5 -> Q6): Daytona returned the nod towards Alexander. "Hey there," she said kindly before getting underway once everyone was in and seated. Once the bus was turned around and headed towards the East Gate, the Padre took a step down and leaned back slightly as Bass seemed to take a more active and very much more talkative roll in the moment. Joaquin gave his sister half a nod before his eyes went to Bass as Bass started to talk.

"The trip over ain't gonna be takin' long but a few thangs. We're gonna do ev'rythang we can to keep ya safe out there. Thing is, ain't no promises. Y'all know that them Eaters can do things and come outta no where. Not to mention other hostiles. So, we will be armed," he said as he knelt down between the front two seats and set the first bag before him, unzipping it. "Ain't gonna be havin' y'all out there with nothing to defend yerselves. Not out in the open like that."

"At the gate," Daytona announced before pulling to a stop and picking up the CB end from the visor. "Funeral Detail requesting exit," she radioed out.

"Rodger that, inner gate prepping for open," a call came back in. Daytona gave half a wave out her side window before closing it again. The heat was not something she was willing to deal with long. Not while she had a nice air conditioned bus to drive.

There was a look that came to Thana's eyes, something lost and a bit sad at Cook got onto her. Her eyes drifted down and she nodded. It wasn't clear if she was actually agreeing with the woman or just placating her so she would shut up. It wasn't the first time she had heard such things from Cook or others in town. She didn't want to hear it again. Hearing it again didn't mean it was going to change what she was doing. Her father was the second of camp, her grandfather was the General, had they told her the same chances were she wouldn't change her decided course of action unless it was a direct order. She didn't follow doctors orders unless she agreed with them.

Thing was even when she did agree with something there was a chance she wouldn't go along with it if she felt what needed to be done was more important than her own personal recovery. If it wasn't going to kill her with a 100% certainty that was. It was why she had done what she did when she was recovering. She pushed herself, she went out. She pushed herself now. None of it had killed her. Sure there could be arguments against it but Thana followed Thana. And she was about to remind Cook of that when Nigel came back.

Turning her head she looked at the man and smirked slightly. She wasn't sure what to say but she didn't have to, Cook was speaking again. Thana ignored it and took the clipboard before looking at Nigel. You and me both. Let's," she said as she started to limp towards the door. She wanted to get the hell out of there. Then she was quickly reminded that hell was right where she was walking into as the heat and humidity of a Florida Summer hit her like a boiled octopus to her face. She grunted and reflexively jerked back before pushing forward as she swore sweat was already rolling down her back.

Nikki was given the nickname Checkbook not long after she had arrived at Camp Mexico Beach. It was about the third month and she was out of quarantine. She had been trying to find her place, to fit in, but back then things were very different. People were more standoffish then, which was understandable. The outbreak was still newer, the town wasn't near as settled as it is now, and it didn't have the resources to spare in any direction back then. It was hard especially having recently lost her father and now being yelled at by military folks who were used to drumming recruits into line. Nikki wasn't a recruit, she was a teen who was lost. Then again, she was a recruit in a way but youth got the better of her and she caused trouble. More than once. It got her the name.

Thing was even with the name, there were certain people in camp Nikki never dared tried to cross. Maddog she did constantly. Gunny she never dared. The other one was talking to her right then. There was something about Auntie that could unnerve her. Major she expected to have her throat slit if she spoke back. Auntie, what in the hell would that woman do if she was really crossed? The thought that Auntie would do something and the fact that Nikki could come up with what that might be was perhaps the reason she never decided to write a check she couldn't cash when it came to Auntie. It was also a good guess to figure why Nikki was stuck with the woman. Either way, she wasn't arguing the point.

"Right! My ass and this dog are going that way!" Nikki said quickly as her pace sped up and she moved towards the door. She thought she was home free, until Auntie added another bit to the end. She had to be back before dinner. There was a quick huff that came from the girls lips but once again she didn't argue the point. "Right! Before dinner!" Nikki acknowledged before hitting the back door and speeding right the hell outside. The hot air hit her and she gasped. The dog at her side whimpering. No one like that feel and Nikki swore her shirt was soaking through already. It was only July... August was going to be so much worse.

Do not worry. We are going to take this slow. Hospital/Medical (B): Mary gave a slight "mmm-hmm," to Lisa as they suited up. Once they were she unlocked the second door and held it open for Lisa to enter. "I wasn't either but with the new influx of people and the unknown it is better to have a secondary on training now and you're the only one I'd trust with the drugs right now," Mary admitted. It was still a bit early for this to start but things had to be done. Even though people came in healthy it still put a strain on their supplies to have such a sudden influx and if someone got sick things could get out of hand fast.

Once Lisa was in the room, Mary locked them in and headed over to a table that had various beakers, burners, bottles, and so forth set out on. She took a breath and went into instruction mode. Explaining chemical compounds, a bit of history on the process, and so forth. Mary was rather detailed about things, giving a broad over view of the process as she stood there. This was where Mary was most competent. Sure she was technically a doctor, she had a doctorate and went to medical school, but she had been a chemist before the outbreak. She worked for Big Pharma, she developed drugs, ran testings, that was what she did. This was what she did. It probably accounted for the fact that she didn't exactly have a bed side manner when it came to people like Michael did. She hadn't needed one. Granted this was probably also the reason that she seemed to talking more at Lisa than teaching her.

Handing over a folder Mary tapped it a few times. "This is the walk through," she stated flatly before taking a step back and pulling up a chair. "You follow it, and do it," she added motioning towards the tools and items already set out. It seemed that Mary was mostly there to observe a lab than to teach now. She had done the instruction portion, handed over the instructions, now it was time to see how well Lisa did during this on her first trial run. (Time for Checks. You will roll against the Chemistry Skill. Lisa will need to pass five checks. Roll against Chemistry, if you fail she has botched the batch and has to do it again. If she passes she moves onto to the second check. If she fails she had to redo the second step again. If she passes she goes onto the third step. You get a total of 3 rolls this round. You could end up not getting past the first step or get to the 4th, all depends on the rolls. Make your reply accordingly. Any questions tag me in Discord.)

Mess Hall (C): Things in the mess hall are calm for now. At least in the back. Once Nigel was in the back Cook looked over towards Thana and sighed. "You look tired," she commented towards the woman. "You need to stop pushing yourself so much." It was more of a motherly statement than anything. Seemed that Cook was concerned about the fact that Thana hadn't seemed to stop since she had woken up from her coma.

Assembly (P): The Padre gave Amelia a small smile as he finished checking his clip. Sliding it back into place he holstered his side arm as he watched her load up onto the bus with Riley pulling up behind her. His eyes followed to the next, nodding a bit towards Ash as he bored the bus. He was a tad surprised that Thana wasn't coming along. Yes the woman had been there when the bodies were buried but these people, the way she spoke, were more for those in Newnan if they ever showed up. Then again, she had been pretty torn up when Gavin went into the ground. Perhaps she just didn't want to see his grave again. There were too many factors to really know and no one would know the truth besides that woman.

Tatiana gave Ash a bit of a glance as he sat down, and a nod. She knew what he was doing. It was what she was doing, at least in part. There was more going on in the woman's head than just that but Tatiana was not the same woman she had been in Newnan. Things changed and while not completely altered, Tatiana was more cold these days, something she might never recover from. The woman's eyes went to Thalia as she entered the bus. That was a woman Tatiana wanted to be around more. They had trained together some in quarantine and she enjoyed the silence the woman gave her. It was comfortable. Especially in contrast to Waynes mouth that never stopped.

Daytona nodded and then looked beyond. Seeing the others, one at a time get on the bus and take a seat. Once everyone that was going to pay their respects was on the bus Joaquin and Bass entered the bus. Joaquin handed off his bag to Bass and walked to the back of the bus and stood at the back door. As he stood with his feet shoulder length apart and placed his hands before him, taking a parade rest of sorts he finally looked like a Gonzales. There was a coldness to his dark eyes, a hard line to his jaw, a twitch to his lip. Then he looked like this father and his uncle, like his sister, as if he could slit someone's throat without a word or breath and not think twice about it.

Padre pulled up the end of the line to load the bus and as he stepped on Daytona shut the door. "Okay Daytona, we're good to go," he said to her and she nodded. Putting the bus into gear the engine roared a little bit before it pulled forward and she started to drive. Taking it around the circle and then around back towards the East Gate.

Supply (R): Things were status quo in supply, that was until the back door swung open and Auntie came in. This caused the dog to bark, not meanly but excitedly. Spotting the dog her eyes narrowed. "What in the hell is that thing doing in my store room?" she barked back but not to the dog, to Nikki as she looked like the woman might just tackle her right then.

Streets of CMB (M2 -> J3): Things continued to be silent as the group walked from one point to another. Roy keeping a grip on Hunter. Whether or not he thought the kid might actually make a break for it didn't matter, those thoughts were his own. He kept his grip firm and steady as they walked no matter what his thoughts might have been. That was the thing about Roy that differed from Maddoc. Roy was blank, a canvas which was hard to read, much like Gunny. Maddoc on the other hand seemed to wear his emotions on his sleeve. At least some, like right then he was looking rather angry. Then again it was rare he hadn't around Hunter - maybe that was his default or maybe the kid just brought that out in him, it was a guess at that point.

"Coming in," Maddoc said as he brought the walkie to his mouth as they approached another road. "One in transport," he added.

"Shit, fine," a rugged voice with a slight rasp came back through but it was hard to tell if that was just general static or more. Turning down the road, the made it to the end of a road and a large white house. Standing on the front porch was an older man, his head bald. It was hard to tell if he shaved it that way or if that was just how he was. He was armed and stood around 5'10". "What the hell you bringing me now Maddoc? I thought this new group was supposed to be easy," he grumbled as he stood there and cross his arms over his chest.

"Cage, don't start. This is just holding for now," Maddoc said as he jogged up the steps and took the clipboard that was hanging by the front door. Roy lead Hunter towards the front of the house but stopped short of the steps. "Have a tribunal to get together."

"God damn it," Cage spat as he looked from Maddog over to Hunter. "Fine, here are the rules. I am the Warden. You will be housed in your cell. Bath, shit, sleep, wash, eat there. You will not leave. Hurt yourself I let you bleed out. My job it to keep you where you are until they remove you. Nothing more.

"Way to be friendly there Elliot," Roy commented.

"Oh eat a dick Gregory," the man countered as he looked over towards Roy before looking back at Hunter. "Don't care what you did. Don't want to hear it."

"Tribunal will be in three to four days if we can get people together. If not a week," Maddoc pipped in with a grumble.

"A fucking week? God damn it Mad, get me some extra hands here then!"

"You'll get some extra once the funeral detail is back," Roy said in a firm voice.

"Well that's all you had to say Boss," Cage said with a huff. Roy rolled his eyes as Maddoc filled out the paper work and handed it over to Cage.

Thana gave a small smile towards Nigel as she waited for him to take the cart to the back. She was growing fond of the man. It was nice to just talk to someone. She had tried talking to Mizrahi some while they were traveling but the fact his English was broken and she hadn't spoken any Arabic until he came along made that hard. Despite that they had been able to converse. She tried to help him with his English, he was teaching her Arabic. They were able to talk some over their time out and some deep stuff to but she was sure a lot of that was lost in translation.

Ash she hadn't really talked to, not until the night or two before. Their first moments together and day had been a whirl wind and they hadn't gotten to know know each other than physically and knowing there was a hell of an instant connection. Talking she was learning more about the man but still that was something different. Talking wit Nigel was just talking and it was nice. It was talking like people did before the world went to hell. Talking about history and such, making observations. Nothing life or death, nothing about taking out a Walker or taking off a limb. Sure there was talks about weapons but she was military so weapons were usually in there.

Once he had headed to the back of the kitchen it seemed that Cook had a few words to say. Things she had heard before from her Grandfather, a look from her dad, she knew this. She just nodded. She knew she needed to slow down but she also knew she had debt to pay. So much debt. She wanted to pay it off and as quickly as possible so there wouldn't be question about her being the daughter of Gunny and granddaughter of the General getting her special treatment. She wouldn't have that. She wouldn't jeopardize her place in the community, especially now that Ash was there. She'd die first, again. She wasn't going to let all that time and effort go to waste. She had family here sure, but now she had friends and the man she loved as well. This was now a home and like hell she was going to chance losing that at all.

It was a wash, rinse, repeat scenario for Nikki right then. Pick up something from the cart, add it to the totals, place it on the shelf. Over and over again. Then things got really exciting for her when she was able to start taking things off the shelf, mark them taken, and place them on carts. It was high excitement right then. The only thing that kept her ground was chewing her gum and petting the dog every so often. It was almost too much to contain. Like she might burst. Groaning the thought of sarcastic excitement left her head as another bubble of gum popped between her lips.

Things were B O R I N G, boring right then. This was usually the time her mind started wandering and she starting thinking about other things to do. Things that would get her in trouble if she followed through with them. So perhaps it wasn't exactly a bad thing when the back door swung open and Auntie started yelling. It wasn't true yelling. Nikki had heard Auntie really yell. This was more of the you better listen to what I am saying voice that could lead to I'm now yelling before I kill you voice. So while not scary it was enough to get her attention even if Izi hadn't been barking.

"New guy is getting tossed into a cell, DoLittle needed someone to take the dog," Nikki said as she stopped what she was doing and knelt down by the dog, petting her to calm her down and get a better hold on her lead. Smiling slightly she motioned towards the back door. "You know, how about I go take her to my house and then come back. Just gonna drop her off, be good, get her out of here," Nikki started rambling as she started to head for the door. Auntie was in the way so she would have to squeeze by her if she didn't move but it was the closest exit.
