But I want Will and Avalon to be bombarded by shitty things

... This can be arranged. :D
Azaezel

Azaezel could do nothing but watch as the bloody countess finished her spell and the blood spread over the ground. Resurrecting the thorns his apprentices had so skillfully laid to ashes. Grinding his teeth, he doubted between aiding his people and attempting one strike on the bloody countess. It was a difficult decision for the Arch-Angel. For one, raising and training a Lord Arcana took nearly a thousand years. Their mastery over Holy Magic was nearly unparalleled. For the angels, they were the elite mages. But then again, the bloody countess was certainly a foe that required a cost to take down. The doubt would have cost him his peoples’ life if Raziel did not intervene and scorched a part of the flowers. The decision had been made, and Azaezel turned around to drop a ring of burning holy fire around his people. Protecting them from the trap of thorns. He then beckoned them to rise up to him.

Azaezel, in the time given to observe the battlefield from his high vantage point, witnessed how the fortress began to burrow down into the ground. He also witnessed the Valkyries getting torn to shreds by the foul cannons of the metal titan or the vile roses. “What is your wish?” asked the first arriving Lord Arcana. My wish? Azaezel thought, somewhat dazed by the battlefield’s size and ferocity. My wish would be to bring dominion back… To raise the banners of the angels high once more… My wish… I wish my wife back. A spark of sadness threatened to corrupt his heart. But Azaezel would not be laid low by something as human as emotions. Instead, he turned the drop of sadness into a storm of righteous fury.

He realized the battle was very much lost. Their advantage: the sky and the maneuverability of their wings was getting negated by the fortress. He witnessed Raziel fly down towards the metal monstrosity. Why he did not know. What he did know was that there was a suspicious lack of commanders on the ground. With Raziel gone, Azaezel looked for the Valkyrie commander: Gwynn. But she was nowhere to be seen. As leader of the first wave, he assumed she was still on or in the fortress. Much like their infiltrator. On the demon side, though, the greater demons had vanished. Once more, Azaezel had no idea where. But an opportunity like this was far too precious to waste.

As demon hordes began to usher towards the hole in the ground, Azaezel’s voice barked his orders: “Ruin the hordes of Hell! Unleash your righteous fury! Leave no vile creature alive! Kill them all! Slaughter them like the savages they are!” With a cheer of reignited hearts the flying mages, high above the battlefield, began their magical bombardment again. Burning away corruption and demonic presence. Eradicating stench and evil flesh. Proud, Azaezel watched how even the apprentices hurled bolts of fire of various sizes. Some even managed to cast an arc of lightning, sniping away at the demons. But his Lord Arcana were the real powerhouses. Hurling massive balls of fire that exploded upon impact. Some even summoned their beasts. Wolves, eagles, and other white, magical creatures sprang forth and descended upon the demons. Causing as much havoc as possible.

Satisfied with his well-trained mages, he rose up higher. His wings still radiant from the charged power, he began to summon up a Greater Holy Seal. It would take time, though, to finish up the seal. But once done the legion of Hell would be very much eviscerated. Reduced to ribbons of troops fleeing from the battlefield at the witness of such a powerful beast among them. The Lord Magnus of the Ordus Evocator was not one that would leave this defeat as devastating as it looked right now.

Amelia couldn’t believe it. Of all people they chose her. They knew she hated fighting! What game was Mrs. Lovelace playing? Or did her father buy her into the tournament? If it wasn’t mandatory to show up, Amelia vowed she wouldn’t go at all. But she knew that it would have consequences. Her father had made it very clear that one wrong step and she’d go straight to Delphina. The fact that both schools were now on common ground (literally) made that very easy for him. Still, the girl did not want to participate. She hoped that she could track down the person that she would have to fight. Maybe strike a deal.

Right now she slowly and very reluctantly made her way towards the arena. Secretly hoping she would be too late and be suspended. Still, that was a risky call at best. A thought flashed through her head. One that made her very sure that her dad was behind all of this. If there were camera’s, it would be the first time the youngest von Carstein will be seen fighting. Maybe even in her Elder Form! Such a thing would gather an insane amount of publicity to the already well known von Carstein name. So that was why he gave her the battle dress with an exposed back? So he would see her fighting so soon? Well, he was about to learn that Amelia could be just as cunning as her brothers.

Of course, Lucas was picked for the tournament. Who else but the true champion of Delphina would rise to the victory? One year he was allowed into the Tournament of Terror, and he absolutely wrecked the opposition. It was one of the ways he rose so swiftly on the social ladder of Delphina. A few days ago he had been released from the infirmary. And since then he has done nothing but train. Going from bar lifting to setups, he put his body through a rigorous training schedule that would leave the unprepared broken. But not Lucas, his body was used to this. Of course, the news of his participation was leaked to the Delphina Times. So every Delphina student just assumed he trained for the tournament.

Which wasn’t untrue, but far from the entire truth. Lucas trained because if he didn’t, he’d start thinking. In secret, he had been taking Eliana’s stolen pills to sleep. Maybe Jackson would have caught him, but Lucas didn’t care. Since the first night out of the infirmary, he couldn’t sleep. Every time he closed his eyes one flash or another went before his eyes. If it were full memories replaying in his head, he would not have that much trouble. But the problem was that it were mere fragments of a shattered piece of his mind. So to keep himself busy, he was on a path of self-destruction that looked very much like the path of self-improvement.

When the day of the meeting came, Lucas was standing before his bed. In his usually, sloppy attire. Looking at the leather jacket. The one he had hung up when he changed in the bodysuit right before the nightmare that was Red Level. For the longest time, it had been a relic of distant memories. Ones that reminded him of who he was, at the core: a villain. Terror given shape. But right now, it also bore a new memory. One that he still felt. Like a deep wound. He contemplated on wearing the jacket. Was he strong enough?

With his jacket on him, he entered the Arena. The short walk from the dorm had strengthened his resolve. He was back, stronger than ever and ready to face whatever would be thrown at him. The worst had already past. So with pure determination he now entered the Arena, looking Mrs. Lovelace straight in the eyes. She and him, they knew that a gaze could be so much stronger than words. Not just on an intimate level. It could be a show of resolve. He gave her a curt but formal nod. Then Amy arrived. Lucas threw her a fell look as the newcomer broke the silence. “Look what the cat dragged in.” he joked, loud enough so Amy would hear it but not Mrs. Lovelace. The jab was joined with his trademark grin. One that said so many things but right now was meant to say: I will destroy you.

Azaezel

With blinding light and golden flames was Azaezel burning away the grounded legions of demons. Some, smarter than their average brethren, though to put an end to the onslaught. Yet as soon as they reached the foot of the mountain, their stench hit Azaezel’s nose. With barely giving them a look he threw a bolt of pure, crackling sunlight. Piercing the demons before they exploded in a bloody mess. “Simple beasts, can you not see that you are no match for me?” As Azaezel kept his barrage going, he witnessed how the field of flowers slowly burned. The field was filled with fires, smoke, and ash. The way all corruption should be, if it was to Azaezel.

But when the bloody countess spoke for the entire valley, even Azaezel felt a shudder. Not that he knew what it was. Fear was a long forgotten, distant and now almost foreign thought. But his body did not forget. He looked for the source and saw the vampire drawing the blood from the battlefield. With wide eyes, suddenly realizing what sorcerer stood before him, he flew up. Like a radiant star below the steel-gray clouds he shined. His wings, glowing a golden hue. From above the light of the sun pierced the veil of clouds and bore down on Azaezel. “Face me! You carnal witch!” he shouted, challenging the infamous countess. While he charged a spell of his own. A beam that was to pierce the bloody orb and the concentration of magic stored within. Many would see it as a foolish and impulsive challenge. But Azaezel knew that should the orb hit, the battle would be all but lost. So he planned on using its massive power against itself. By piercing it, he believed he could destabilize the magic, making it backfire.
@LokiLeo789 The angels have their general! Time to see what strategy he proposes! Azaezel will just advocate the tactic: "burn it all to the ground! Burn it all!" Then again, Raziel's a Seraph. So Azaezel will heed his command even that means he has to go out into the melee (which would still be a stupid choice)
@Rune_Alchemist

Assuming Fran doesn't swoop in and take Gywnn down with her 'sword' while the actual Valkyrie is wounded and weary.

Not sure but didn't Gywnn get stronger the longer the battle drags on?
Wait, us angels have an orbital bombardment system! That's great and bad at the same time! Give me 2 hours and I'll have us on the path to winning this battle.

Wait! WAIT! You gave Azaezel's team orbital bombardment!? I thought our trump card was pretty much the Valkyries ability to come from above... DONT GIVE THE CONTROL TO AZAEZEL! But for real, I'm starting to feel that the angels should use some unity and come together to discuss the battle plans. Cause right now two commanders are boarding the fortress with their forces and Azaezel is just spitting random artillery.
Azaezel

As the battle raged, several pale beams of light shone down on one of the nearby mountains, flanking the valley. At the very core of these pillars of light orbs travelled at staggering speed. Burning with the golden aura of angels. With thunderous noise, they struck the stone just below the summit of the mountain. From the crashed orb and the pale light pillar, Azaezel stepped. First, his shape made of pure, sacred light. Which soon solidified in his true form. He marched to the edge of the nearby cliff, next to the summit, watching down on the overcast, fog filled battlefield. A thousand stenches hit his nose, giving his already unfriendly face a scowl. “Filth.” He muttered.

Behind he appeared his apprentice. Cathetel was a promising angel. With talents, much like Azaezel had when he was her age. At the age of only 500, she managed to impress the arch-angel already. “It would seem the forces are evenly matched.” She noted. “But the demons will soon topple the fortress. Then they’ll have won.” Azaezel nodded at the wise observation. “Very true, young one. But you forget. The fortress should be toppled.” The apprentice looked up, temporarily confused until she understood what her master meant. She returned her gaze down to the battlefield. “Snatch the demon’s price.” She did not ask it, she just stated the thoughts of Azaezel, showing how well she knew her master. “Indeed. But the Valkyries seem to be distracted. They are only engaging the machines. Fools, the humans are doomed no matter what. We must weaken the demon hordes!” With that, he turned around. Looking at his forces. A small band of powerful mages. Each had brought their apprentice.

Azaezel first spoke to the apprentices: “Disciples of the Ordo Magus! As long as the demons hold the ground with their fog, they will win once they toppled the metal titan. You must render the very ground to ash! Burn it all! Leave no poisonous plant untouched!” The little ones nodded, with fire only younglings could have in their eyes. They formed a circle and began their chant. Soon embers would spread over the field of roses. Which would crawl towards one another. Turning into bushfires. But from that point, the flowerbed would be doomed. As fire would search fire the storm would come suddenly and totally unexpected. Two of the mages remained near the apprentice. Serving as protectors. The rest followed Azaezel to the summit. Where they had the clearest view of the battle. “Sunder the earth, my brothers and sisters! Burn away the wickedness! Cast light over the shadows and cleanse the sinners! With fire and light!” With that, the mages opened their artillery barrage of spells on the demons writhing on the ground below. Rays and beams of light were cast towards the shadow bats. Lighting arched through the flying pest’s cloud. While balls of blue and red fire reaped the lives of lesser demons on the ground. But all spells paled compared to Azaezel’s golden balls of fire. Falling down upon the earth and instantly evaporating all wicked demons it hit.
@KoL I read a bit of WoW lore recently and was indeed inspired by the blood elves and their dependence on magic. So to everyone really, Azaezel is absolutely NO WARRIOR compared to the melee demons and mechs I see. He's pretty much a glass cannon. I don't know much about how blood elves generally act (I assume like most High Elves in other fantasy universes?) but the idea of the Sunwell was taken from WoW.
