And so, safe from behind a stack of crates, Gavin waited till the five pistol shots were finished, and then moved to fire back at the direction of the cargo hold's door, hoping to kill one of the attackers. If that didn't work; the diving suits were too much like armor for his liking, Gavin would throw a small wormhole at the enemy, a small blast of elemental power that would cause at least some damage...

Then he would move on.

Cerdic Wessex

In his room, Cerdic Wessex was reading more about Pakora's world, appreciating the differences between it and his native one, where magical and anti-magical terrorism filled the news every day. Here, the worst cases of prejudice against Demi-Humans were historical, and most 'incidents' today were of the mischeveous sort. In his universe, attempting to prank someone with a Noble Arm would have caused a police intervention; then again, his perceptions have been shaped by the incident which had happened to him.

The only way people with innate power can co-exist with those who do not is only if the 'narrative laws' of the world are different, were his thoughts. Well, if you discount symbiotic relationships, but neither Noble Armsmen or normal humans would accept those in this climate. He had been convinced of that after seeing the faces of his dead schoolmates, and their killers as well. Looking at the bracers fused to his skin, Cerdic would look at them, considering himself marked, nay, cursed.

"I have a new life now," he whispered to himself. "I'm going to live it."

And so he shook his head, trying to get rid of the shadows of the past...
