@Wistful Dreams@QueenNugget Sorry for the confusion! So I really wanted to refrain from trying to limit people's choices by reserving spots. So I initially wanted to make all of the roles as applicable roles instead of by reservation. That being said, I would gladly look over the two sheets that I would receive from ya'll and decide which one would better suit the role for the RP. In no way does that mean one player is a better writer or conjured up a "better" character, but it would be chosen based on which would best fit the plot and the group dynamic that we have going. I did put strike throughs for roles that already had interest to avoid this, but you both had PMed me asking about the role and I didn't want to deny either of you. I believe I said that you both could apply and I would review it, but I understand how it could be confusing since I'm kind of going back and forth. So, in short, create whichever character you wish and I'll see which best fits the role and which would be accepted.

Sage

Sage is a lovely character! Though, I'm a little bit iffy on accepting her because of how much ability, talent, and power she possesses. Being only 23 years old, I believe she just has a little bit too much to see as believable, but then again, we live in a world with several human anomalies when it comes to talent and brightness. To note: Sage is the author of multiple best-selling novels, she plays the cello, piano, vocal, drum, and guitar, she is the founder of the page Ask Atlus, and she has skill with a very, very broad horizon of different magics. I find it a little unrealistic, given that she's 23 years old and she has this many accomplishments/talents. Granted, with a corresponding backstory that would make this all believable, I could maybe accept her, but I think the amount of powers she has is way too much.

I find it hard to believe that Sage would really have the time for everything without having an INCREDIBLE amount of innate talent. She was able to write award-winning novels as well as learn to play several instruments, without any mention of college, teachers, etc. All of these skills/accomplishments take a great amount of devotion to time and energy and generally are accompanied by teaching/college. To add to this, within her backstory her only assumed practice of magic would be in her dreams, as well as once she moved away from her father's house. You wrote that she was surrounded by metal and machinery, limiting her usage for her powers, so she wouldn't have had the opportunity to practice as much as other witches while in NYC. Additionally, she has almost the amount of power, if not--she does have as much power, as a supreme witch, especially because she covers a lot of fields of magic. To add, you didn't note that she had any other instructors other than her mother within her dreams, nor did she have access to tomes/books.

My suggestion would be to remove some of Sage's talent and powers.

• If you wish to keep the powers that she possesses, then she'll have mediocre to minimum talent with each. Note that vampires are also very strong cognitive creatures, so they will most likely surpass her in that field unless you have her specialize within that field of magic. Werewolves are also innately resistant to magic, so she might not even be able to touch them, depending on their cognitive control.
• You may choose to eliminate some of her powers to keep the existing ones up to par with the other witches.
• You may remove some of her talents/accomplishments to allow for her to have a believable amount of devotion to her witchcraft.
• You may give her a better corresponding backstory that further mentions the reasons as to why she has all of this. This accompanied with an older age could help to null some of these suggestions. While you did note that she comes from a powerful blood-line of witches, she is still a little bit too strong.

Of course, don’t always buy into how she seems. Such a state is only her default form, but Sascha is like a chameleon and can change her skin as she sees fit. Sascha treats her body as a blank slate: her face is attractive, but unforgettable under the right circumstances, and her body is short with sharp curves yet nothing immediately stands out. When she wants to, Sascha transforms herself into another person without even applying extensive make-up. She can use her upturned nose to emphasize a snooty personality, or her wide smile to portray a welcoming persona. Despite this camouflage, there are two features that remain unsettling about her: her pronounced canines and her amber eyes that appear a light brown until a light hits it just right – and then it seems to glow unnaturally. 『 "measure twice, cut once. cash money flow." 』

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Sascha Dietrich is not a good person. She knows this, and she doesn’t care. After spending her youth pondering right and wrong, Sascha somehow ended up seeing only the middle gray. Ever since, Sascha has been teetering in slight nihilism – she sees the extremes on the moral compass, but likes to navigate in the “immoral, but not deplorable” area. She’s selfish and takes what she wants, working towards surviving with no care of how it affects others, and emotionally has distanced herself from people. Becoming antisocial makes it easier to take advantage of people, especially when you assume the worst. When you have no care for how your thieving affects others, you begin to take more than needed; Sascha has become quite greedy since she was younger, taking and taking because she never had to stop before.

As a youngling, Sascha was bright. Sascha nurtured the intelligence she was born with and sharpened her wits to a fine point; now, she uses her cunning against others. With her clever mind, Sascha has become strategic and methodical. She has long since perfected the ability to take emotions out of her process, seeing only plans and methods, attacking her problems with thorough solutions and backup solutions (and more backup solutions). Sascha thinks rationally, seeing the bigger picture and mentally calculating the losses and gains in her plans – most often disregarding the consequence her conning will have on her marks. In such a way, Sascha is a perfectionist and must have everything work out exactly as she had planned it (lest she end up in jail). To execute her schemes, she has become quite skilled in manipulation; she uses her skills in acting and lying to take advantage of people and their weaknesses.

All of this is behind closed eyelids, though. People don’t see the calculation going on in her brain. Instead, they see a cold-hearted bitch with a severe lack of manners. Sascha is blunt and seems to have no filters, but all her honesty is in pointing out the flaws in others without revealing anything about herself. She keeps her cards close and doesn’t let anyone have a peek over her shoulder. When in contact with other people, she is derisive, scathing, and utterly dismissive of others’ feelings. She callously does whatever she wants with no regard of anyone else. However, Sascha is nothing if not adaptable. At the tip of a hat, she can adapt her personality and demeanor to fit the person she is talking to if it suits her purposes – when in a new area, she makes sure to come off friendly to most people in case they come in handy later.

B A C K G R O U N D

Sascha Dietrich is German, but if you ask her old schoolmates, Sascha is an ossi – an East German. Even though she was born after Germany had reunited, Sascha’s childhood felt the tremors of the German separation. Saxony-Anhalt experienced a high unemployment rate and Sascha was born into a poor family. When she was only four years old, Sascha’s father left Saxony-Anhalt to find and job to support Sascha and her mother. Sascha never really got to know her dad and mostly grew up with her mother, getting a bundle of money every other month. It was never enough, though. Sascha’s mother got sick, really sick, and the hospital bills were too expensive for the money they were receiving. Vividly, Sascha remembers writing a letter to her father, asking him to send more money because “mama is dying”. She was ten years old when her mother finally passed.

At ten, there was no conceivable way for Sascha to support herself. She gathered the last envelope of money her father sent and used it to buy a train ticket to the return address. When she arrived, she found more than expected – her father had moved on, in his time away from her mother. He had found a new wife, with two stepdaughters Sascha’s age and a biological son five years younger than her. Sascha was livid – her mother would have lived if her dad hadn’t needed to support another new family. She had nowhere to go, though, and her father took her in. Living with her dad left Sascha feeling numb. Her stepsisters disliked her and had no problem showing it, her new schoolmates teased her for being an ‘ossi’, and her father attempted to build a relationship with her but it always fell flat. She resented him. So much so, that at fifteen, she stole all his money out from under him and booked a one way ticket to New York City. Good thing her English wasn’t that bad.

In America, she spent her teen years on the streets, evading social services. She made her money doing small time cons, hustling people out of their money with street tricks and pickpocketing. Petty thievery also helped her way. The more and more she stole, though, the more and more she wanted. Soon, Sascha was running long cons and cheating people out of money by preying on their sympathy. She would bounce around the United States, sometimes dipping her toes into Canada, making as much money as she could.

Sascha was in Washington. It was a chilly night and she was out with a camera, noting down her mark’s schedule and gathering intel. She felt like she was being watched, but after glancing around and peering into suspicious cars, she shrugged it off. However, when a bush rustled behind her, Sascha booked it as fast as she could. Sascha could never recall having ever run as fast in her life, but she was no match for what was chasing her – she went down hard with something pressing against her back, then sharp teeth burrowing into the back of her calf. Sascha remembers the night with much contempt, the night that made her life a lot more complicated than she wanted it to be. The next morning, she left town without looking back, and it was days later when she started to truly understand what was happening to her.

Now, eight months later, Sascha finds herself in Salem, Massachusetts. Since her accident, she has stubbornly ignored the werewolf side of her and is in Salem in pursuit of money – the reappearance of a famous boxer, a total goldmine.

@Sanity43217 While your character concept is interesting, I'm afraid that I cannot accept him with that type of power. The witches/warlocks of this RP will follow the more ancient ways of witchcraft, in which were passed down from generation to generation. While the repertoire for spells is very broad, they will not have capabilities relating to technomancy.

@The Narrator Martin is accepted. While I do wish to read more about his character, I don't believe it's absolutely necessary since he can unfold as the RP plays out. While his abilities pertaining to the Loa and the Bokor are a little foreign to me, I believe the concept will add an interesting flare to the RP! Evren has strawberry blonde hair that she keeps in loose waves and dark hazel eyes. She has a tattoo on her abdomen and healing bruises all throughout her body from training. As for her style and dress Evren has a very laid back style for everyday wear, sometimes only a cardigan over fitting, dark jeans and a nice blouse along with an intricate hairstyle usually consisting of some kind of hard to make braid. Depending on her mood...and her intentions, her makeup varies but her lipstick is always bright and allows her to stand out as needed and her ever present mascara allows her long lashes to be used in all of her seducing purposes. For hunting she dons a black leather jacket and leggings as well as her favorite pair of scuffed up combat boots

HEIRLOOM:
A silver chain (unlike the picture) necklace with a small opal was given to her by her mother. It keeps her safe from most supernatural bites whether that'll be a vampire bite or a werewolf one, however, if the bites are very severe and she loses a lot of blood then the effects will be known and the necklace is not able to help as much. It's just an extra protection from harm but it still has it's weaknesses.

She's fairly young to be a leader and so may not have as much experience as needed. She gets looked down upon a lot and finds herself quite angry at times. In addition, with her father being a vampire she'd not exactly able to use her skills to the best of her ability against the vampires themselves. What if they were helping her dad? This moral problem keeps her awake at night and is only one of the few weaknesses she had. Finally, she's reckless and can be quite neurotic at times which makes her a liability, her careful plans sometimes discarded when she's in action and gets angry or is provoked. Oh and in addition to all of that she fucking hates werewolves because of her mothers death. She’s vengeful and will always hunt down the werewolves first.

Evren is endlessly smart and cunning, laying out plans for various hunts in every single which way and earning some respect as she does so. She thinks things out ahead and makes sure that she can follow through by training and doing more planning. In her mind, to plan is to win. In addition, Evren is also very charming and seducing. She's a great actress and assumes a very sweet role sometimes to lure people into the trap she creates. People tend to gravitate to her and she's grateful for this as she can get half of all her important information from these weak spots. Plus Evren is strong, strong willed and strong minded she aims for the stars and does everything in her power to get there, her mind and body almost impenetrable to any obstacles that come her way.

However, Evren is also reckless as comes with her line of work. Even though she plans things out for the best possible solution she also finds herself not caring as much when she's in action or she is provoked by others, or by her own feelings. She doesn't care for the end game when she's like that, only caring for what she needs in that moment. She is also slightly neurotic so that explains the reckless consequences that come with provoking her. She's not exactly stable. Add all that to her vengeful and revenge oriented goal, really the only reason she’s been as successful as she is and she’s a force to be reckoned with.

Evren grew up in a happy family and as the only child of two loving parents who expected a lot. Most of her hunter abilities come from her dad but both of her parents had also been hunters in their youth before they stopped to have her and live a normal life, away from the dangers of hunting and possibly leaving their daughter to be raised alone as they died. Evren grew up loving the chase but not understanding the reason as to why she had to kill. There was simply not enough against her. Sure, her family loved it to but both her parents were just taught that it was their duty to do so because their own parents had to do it too. Evren never really understood, until she did.

One day when she was 17, she had been walking back home from school. It was a full moon above her and she remembered remarking how beautiful it was. Beautiful until she heard the sounds of howling. Her heart had beaten fast and she'd ran...ran as fast as she could into the nearest building. When she'd gotten home again she'd seen ambulances around her house and her heart had sank. Something bad had happened. When she walked into the house she'd seen the blood and as she followed the ambulance workers upstairs, she knew in that moment that her life was truly going to end. Evren had decided to seperate from the other workers a bit, moving down to the basement to see for herself, to seek revenge if she could find any but instead she saw her dad, a deep bite mark down his neck and his head snapped at a weird angle. Suddenly he looked at her and she knew, in that moment, that he was no longer human. Luckily enough he'd rushed up the stairs behind her and was out in a flash. It was the last time she saw him. As for her mom, she'd been killed by the werewolves who'd been chasing the vampire that had bitten her dad. It was a night of loss. And the night that Evren finally knew why she had to do what she was going to do.

Evren was sent to her uncle for the remainder of her life and he'd taught her, continuing more of her hunting training. She'd worked as hard as she could. She trained every minute of every day and often went to sleep at 3am because she was juggling both her school life and her hunting. As she graduated, she decided to go to university in Transylvania, majoring in folklore but only as a ruse to get more info and knowledge on the things she desired, in addition to trying to find her father. She hunted in her spare time there and made many connections in that state as she rose in popularity. She eventually graduated Summa Cum Laude and moved back to Salem to do her duty as a hunter here after concluding that her father was nowhere to be found and that Salem needed her in order to return supernatural free. There were more supernatural creatures to hunt, afterall. Over the years, she'd earned respect as someone who had been designed to do her duty and who had followed through it with speed and fierceness. Evren has never had a target that she has not killed and hopes it'll remain that way. Her connections with other hunters in different states had also helped her cause and she was promoted to head of the hunters at the fairly young age of 28

I very much enjoy this character. I love her appeal, her look, and her personality. I really enjoy the idea of her being promoted to head of the hunters, primarily for her incredible skill with tactics, organization, and strategy when it comes to a hunt. It makes sense that she's not totally collected when on the hunt, but that isn't what she's favored for; her promotion is based off her leadership and not her battle prowess, though that shouldn't be underestimated either.

One question I do have is her heirloom. When you say that she has resistances to bites, do you mean like the actual injury/bite itself, or the aftermath of such? A vampires bite can weaken, more or less from just the blood loss. But in a lot of pop fiction, a vampire bite can feel euphoric. Some say it's from a venom, some say it's from the vampires charm. I'm going to edit the vampire tab to include the effects of their bite. The venom will have an endorphin-like effect that makes it so that their victim is less likely to struggle against them, allowing them to feed as necessary. The venom will also release traces if their DNA -- almost like a virus. This will begin the process of turning a human into a vampire. I'll reiterate the process in the vampire tab of the OOC.

With that said, there's a small thing in Evren's backstory. So her father is assumed to be turned into a vampire, but all that Evren sees is that he's bit by the vampire. Given that there's a process to becoming a vampire that almost requires the consent of the human(although the venom gives them a certain lust that'll overpower the unwillingness if there is any), Evren's father would have had to undergo the turning process which could not have happened within a quick instance. Except, maybe there's something that Evren doesn't know, and perhaps her father had a previous engagement with a vampire in his hunting days that resulted in his coming turn. So this could very well still be possible, but not in that immediate instance. It would have had to take time, but this could be a cool thing within Evren's past that she unfolds throughout the RP.
