Bio
Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.
Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.
@Silver FoxYou'll be able to start customizing your Trainer after Hau'oli City, and I think haircuts come on the island after Melemele.
There are some haircuts in Hau'oli, as well as outfits, but they're pretty limited. At least, I hope there are more than four haircuts in the game for dudes.
Once the latter three have their characters in order, you might consider making a PM, a discord group, a skype call, or something to facilitate communication. This can also serve to get Super acquainted with the wide world of RPing.
Please, PM me with your character sheet. I forget if I have to remember to search the OOC thread for it. Please and thank you.
Yo my man:
@Balthazar007, I am interested in creating a location with some proximity to Feyhollow town, where people might consider visiting next. I am also thinking about giving the place an overriding mission that can occupy those who choose to go there. Should be fun. That fine by you?
On another note, I would recommend calling out the players who haven't posted in a good while. At the very least, it would be wise to mark them as 'inactive'.
@PyroDash888 It's like naming a Dark Souls RP "Bright Souls" xD
That is exactly what Sho Minazuki and I called our idea for a Dark Souls rp that we worked on enough to make zones and bosses for a while back. No joke.
For the guardian, the situation seemed dreamlike. A fear of heights -or, as in his case, an unease of them- meant, of course, that all too often in dreams, he would be suspended in some high place. Beset by the howling wind, and clinging for dear life to, say, a catwalk above a canyon or a bridge between two buildings, he couldn't move for fear of the slightest error sending him plummeting into the abyss. Only now, this very scenario was playing out not just in the real world, but also in front of the person he wanted desperately to impress. Stiffness overtook him completely, so much so that he couldn't turn to look as Krysanthe crossed the gap with what looked like frustrating ease, and when she returned to check on him it took a colossal effort to prevent himself from reddening. “Some help,” he intoned in a quiet, deadpan voice. “Would be...great.”
When the opportunity arose, he quickly took the offered hand, and the combined strength of two physically-oriented hunters-to-be landed him on ordinary terrain in no time. Masking his breathing as much as he could, Abel held out a hand to summon the Ampere from where it lodged, and obediently the weapon jerked free from the cliff and sailed into his awaiting grip. “Thank you.” What a joke. He should have accepted her help in the first place. What kind of cool guy rejected a perfectly good idea to attempt his own stunt, only to flub it at the last second and ask for help anyway? Feeling exactly like a clod of earth that he shook from his jacket, he pointed his weapon forward into the forest. A little enthusiasm for a change might counteract the conflict brewing inside him—a tincture for the poison of doubt. “Onward!”
He took one step and stopped again, suddenly alert. The rustle of underbrush could be heard, and while this could have easily been the sign of some wild creature like a rabbit or bore, Abel got the distinct impression that something a little more wild lay in store only a hundred feet away. After all, the Emerald Forest was stocked with monsters for the students to fight, as far as he knew. In Beacon's training classes, captured Grimm would occasionally be released for students to practice against as an alternative to them withering away, but out here, even in an environment regulated by the school, any encounter should be treated as the real thing. “Hum,” he said aloud, hopefully drawing Krysanthe's attention. “Almost sounds like Gri...!”
The guardian's warning was quite literally cut off by the emergence of what looked like a laser from the woods. The ludicrously high-pressure stream of red liquid swept toward him, capable of bisecting anyone without an activated aura. Instantly Abel's instincts flared to life, and he threw himself bodily to the ground so that the cutting stream could pass overhead. He trusted his companion to do the same, or to otherwise leap over it. A moment later the stream ceased, and from the foliage emerged a Redcap--an eight-foot tall, bloated monstrosity half insect, half dragon, and all nasty. Unfortunately, Abel didn't recognize it at all. This more rare species of Grimm lay in the back of his class's textbook, but he'd never seen one during his years attending Palisade, or whilst on the wall. “The hell is that thing?” He picked himself up as the creature ambled forward, giant claws outstretched. Reflexively he got into a fighting stance, and aimed his Ampere at the horrid beast.
@Pyrodash888 I would also give a Fate RP managed by you a chance, and be willing to help out in whatever way I can. This very morning, I went through the steps of creating a Servant to understand the whole thing better, and so I already have a character queued up for any such RP.
In one move, the contest was decided. Verrine's Megahorn landed with full force, sending chips of rock flying. For a moment it seemed as if her attack, despite its size and the amount of energy put into it, wouldn't be able to topple Azerus' huge Rhyhorn, but Olivie held out hope. Her faith was rewarded as the groaned and slumped down, motes of dust flying into the air as its stubby legs rubbed across the ground before going still. She didn't wait for her opponent to withdraw his Pokemon, instead saying in an uncharacteristically low voice, ”Done aaaand done. Verrine, c'mere.” Dutifully the bug-type obeyed, shaking off the fractured remnants of her enlarged horn as she did. Its pieces fell away to reveal her natural horn beneath, with a surface marred but soon to heal. Olivie scooped her Pokemon up and swaddled her in a bear hug tight enough to make the Karrablast squirm. Her eyes closed and her mouth in a dazzling smile, Olivie told her, ”That was badass! And That's two knockouts in less than an hour. I knew I made the right choice.” The girl relinquished her hold and placed her friend on the ground, where Buck rushed up to give a chatter of congratulation. Olivie, meanwhile, turned her attention to the defeated.
They met eyes for the first time, and at last Olivie felt gratified. Here, she thought, was a tangible result of her new outlook on the world. Before she walloped this dude, he'd been more focused on her funbags than on her fighting prowess, but now he afforded her at least a little respect. If all my fights go this well, I'll be on the road to tons of people respecting me before long. Whilst thinking this she wore a smirk the whole time, but that expression tightened when Azerus, of all things, gave her a mischievous smile. He turned to leave, but as he did, he delivered a parting shot that made Olivies blood boil.
Balling her fists, she raised them and shouted after him, eyes scrunched closed, ”What!? No! I'm not cute! I'm a terrifyin' thug! I've broken boards by punchin' them! I fought three girls at once one time and whooped 'em all! You hear me!? I'll kick your ass!”
Her tirade ended abruptly as Verrine poked her leg with her horn. Olivie's eyes shot open and she realized she was blustering at nobody—Azerus had gone. A grating noise sounded out as she gnashed her teeth in frustration. ”The nerve! Not even that bozo Bernard called me cute! Uh, I mean, Barnie.” She looked down. On one side stood Buck, and on the other, with eyes wide and wondering, was Verrine, but she couldn't see her own feet at all. Olivie's expression melted into a convolution of grimace and pout. ”Cute's for little girls and pathetic stuff like squirrels and kittens, anyway. If anything, I'm 'seductive', right?” She glanced at her Pokemon, but their expressions indicated nothing but bafflement. Tossing her hair in subdued anger, she remembered that Gespenst still needed healing and started to walk. ”Huh...maybe it ain't the right word. Whatever. Soon enough, people are gonna be thinkin' about how strong I fight, not how I look.” With her Pokemon following on her heels, she approached the Pokemon Center's main door.
Current Location: Adjacent Lot, Feyhollow Town Interaction: @Dark Light's Azerus Jr. (Rebellion's Turbulent, Reserved Tempest) @Eklispe's Raven Heartwood (The Suave, Livewire Looker and Showman) TP: 25 + 1 (post) + 5 (battle finish) + 10 (daily battle win) = 41 CP: 23+ 1 = 24
I've actually been thinking about joining a FATE RP. I really like the idea of taking historical figures and making them into anime characters. That said, I don't know anything much about it.
