Bio

Current GM of World of Light. When it comes to writing, there's nothing I love more than imagination, engagement, and commitment. I'm always open to talk, suggestion, criticism, and collaboration. While I try to be as obliging, helpful, and courteous as possible, I have very little sympathy for ghosts, and anyone who'd like to string me along. Straightforwardness is all I ask for.

Looking for more personal details? I'm just some dude from the American south; software development is my job but games, writing, and trying to help others enjoy life are my passions. Been RPing for over a decade, starting waaaay back with humble beginnings on the Spore forum, so I know a thing or two, though I won't pretend to be an expert. If you're down for some fun, let's make something spectacular together.

Well, it's stuff like locations too. If location like the ones made recently get approved, then people will need to get information on them. When I'm thinking of stuff to write while Olivie is in Feyhollow, for instance, I refer back to the Feyhollow sheet pretty often, which I can do because it's linked in the OP.
I think the incentive to post on sunrise and sunset should stay as well. It's not like it's too much, any way. It's something to help us keep progressing--we don't want to be stuck as basic trainers forever.

I'll keep the pinglist in mind.

Here's another matter: with Balthazar gone, we aren't going to be able to update stats, locations, and so forth in the OP anymore. The best chance we have, I think, is to ask @LuckyBlackCat to take care of it, since the second post in the OOC thread belongs to Lucky. What does everyone else think?
With breakfast disposed of, Olivie set her sights on the next task in her mental checklist: shopping. Seldom did the nineteen-year-old frequent marts, stores, malls, or other retail outlets, for she did always seek to contradict typical teenage stereotypes, but this morning a quick pitstop could not be avoided. On the way out of the Pokemon Center, she met Bernard, already showered, dressed, and ready for adventure. A few moments of conversation led to the construction of a quick and informal plan for the young man to have his own meal whilst Olivie took care of her boring errand. Having had her full of the nice scenery during her earlier battles, she let no element of the quaint town distract her as she made a beeline for the Poke Mart. Once there, she snatched two pokeballs from the shelves, and one transfer later she could boast of a full compliment of six. All that remained was to fill the remaining three with Pokemon, and now that Olivie would be accompanied by someone less inclined to wander the forest in circles for hours, she knew just where to capture some.

A scant few minutes later, the duo departed Feyhollow Town, and disappeared together into the surrounding woods with three Pokemon each by their sides. Naturally, Olivie brought Verrine, Gespenst, and trusty Buck, but in addition to Painkiller the Bisharp, Bernard selected two new companions from his store the likes of which the brunette had never seen. One, who he referred to as Romeo, acted as bizarrely clownish as he looked, but aside from his antics seemed pleasant enough. The other, a rabbit named Gretel almost as tall as her trainer, radiated an aura of gloominess. Olivie's pokedex dutifully informed her that they were a Mr. Mime and a Lopunny, respectively. To her, neither looked particularly tough or cool, but with such a dweeb for a trainer it could hardly be helped. Thus, the entourage of eight began their adventure for the day, strolling with wide eyes beneath the dappled, verdant canopy.

Today, however, the Pokemon seemed scarce. Perhaps Feyhollow's creatures, so active and mischievous during the night, remained tucked away in hidden resting places during the daylight hours. Eventually, the group stumbled upon a trail. The dirt path before them lay in disarray, thoroughly marked by the scuffle of tiny feet. Unafraid, Olivie put on her fighting gloves and along with her team abandoned the path to forge her own way through the underbrush. Bernard and his own Pokemon followed. For another twenty minutes or so they followed the winding trail across the grass, through the bushes, and around the trees, until they came upon a large mound of earth sitting in a little clearing amongst the trees.

Immediately, four Pokemon burst forth from their burrows. As the little beasts growled threateningly, Olivie made sure to frame them with her pokedex for a quick readup. ”Nidoran♀ has barbs that secrete a powerful poison. They are thought to have developed as protection for this small-bodied Pokémon. When enraged, it releases a horrible toxin from its horn. Nidoran♂ has developed muscles for moving its ears. Thanks to them, the ears can be freely moved in any direction. Even the slightest sound does not escape this Pokémon's notice. ” Olivie looked up from her device to find the micelike creatures unmoved. ”Territorial, huh? You think just because this pile of dirt is your home, you get to act like tough customers when I come around? Huh!?” She pointed a finger, and together Buck and Gespenst leaped in front of her. Laughing, Bernard told Romeo and Gretel to join them. The four squared up against the four enemy Nidoran, each finding a target.

”Don't touch 'em directly! Buck, use Round! Gespenst, Energy Ball!”

”Psyshock, Romeo. Gretel, use Swift for me, okay?”

Olivie's Bidoof set up a hideous chatter, the sound from grinding his teeth manifesting as a wave of force that blasted into one of the male Nidoran. Repeating his turret-esque setup from earlier in the day, Gespenst planted himself before charging up an energy ball. In the time it took for him to do so, the female Nidoran he opposed darted in and scratched him, using a horn to deliver the Poison Sting. Meanwhile, Bernard's Mr. Mime just obliterated one of the other Nidoran, fainting it instantly. The last one, however, didn't receive an attack from Gretel the Lopunny; in fact, the sullen rabbit didn't lift a finger. Only after the wild Pokemon attacked her with Poison Jab did she even halfheartedly hold out her paw. A bright yellow glow shone from the fur that shot a burst of starlike darts at the Nidoran, but they barely even fazed it. It began to attack again, but at Bernard's command Romeo stepped in to lift the purple beast up with his Psychic powers and slam him into the dirt mound.

Soon, only the Nidoran attacked by Buck remained, who the chattering hadn't greatly affected. Instead of telling her Pokemon to strike again, Olivie jumped past her partner to slam a pokeball into the surprised poison-type's face. Before it could counterattack, it dissolved into a red stream of light that disappeared into the ball, and seconds later the deal was done. ”Man! Talk about easy pickings. I hope this thing ain't a wimp for long.”

She looked to Bernard with accomplishment, but her rival seemed bothered by something. He scratched his chin, saying, ”I dunno. Usually, if there's this many Nidoran in one spot, it usually means an nest, but the mom and dad should have appeared by now.”

Before he even finished the ground began to shake, and with perfect comedic timing, the earthen mound burst apart. From the dust emerged two larger, formidable Pokemon, which managed to look very mean despite being only about four feet tall. Erring on the side of caution, the trainers and their Pokemon opted to book it. As Olivie sprinted, just ahead of Bernard and very glad he didn't get to see the vigorous situation happening with her front, shouted, ”You just had to say it, dumbass! Why are you runnin'? Painkiller could take 'em!”

Already breathing heavily, Bernard yelled back, ”Don't wanna risk it! Those were Nidoking and Nidoqueen, poison-ground types! If they both used Earthquake, we'd be screwed!”

”Upht!” After opening her mouth to reply, some kind of bug flew in, and Olivie hurriedly proceeded to spit it out before shutting up and focusing on running. She'd had enough protein for one day. All six Pokemon were hard on their heels -even Gespenst and Gretel- as the group ran deeper into the forest.

So does anyone approve of my location?

Zarkun, I like yours, though it does almost make mine completely obsolete in terms of types available.
Abel Fulgurate
@Eklispe

No matter who it was, if someone had a plan that seemed good, he or she would find Abel happy to listen and follow along. When Krysanthe offered a brief set of instructions, the guardian nodded his head readily. At the moment, he couldn't delve into exactly why he felt this way, but the phrase at last ran through his head. Lowering his Ampere into position, he prepared to charge forward and thrust the blade into the bloody monster's bloated belly.

Buoyed up by her semblance and propelled by boosts of water, Krysanthe dodged around to the side. Obligingly, the Redcap followed the yellow threat with its pointed proboscis. As she moved in and out of range, it kept its enlarged arms up to guard, and instinctively swiped at her with nasty claws when it seemed that she'd come too close. However, the Grimm wasn't completely brainless. Even as its attention locked onto Krysanthe, captured by her incessant taunts, it kept a bead on Abel. Instead of just letting the pair of students surround it, the beast moved sideways and back in an attempt to keep both in its vision at the same time—if it could be said to have vision. Atop its slender head, the translucent, fire-red orb sat like the crystal atop a storybook mage's scepter, aglow with baleful luster.

Abel did not deign to wait for the perfect opportunity, and seized the chance to contribute. He advanced with his weapon extended to move its blade into the danger zone. The Redcap, on the defensive and acknowledging its lack of force or speed, simply batted away the polarm rather than devoting more limbs to a full block. Abel kept the Ampere close, moving it slowly closer again and again, so that over the course of a few moments, the Grimm ceased to register the weapon as a threat. At least, he hoped that would be the case, but the Redcap thought otherwise. Somehow sensing that it was being boxed in to a potentially lethal scheme, it attacked the less imposing of the two humans. After raising its large arms over its head, it hopped forward to crush Krysanthe, and at the same time whipped its tail at Abel.

Instead of blocking or dodging away, the guardian made a resolution. He allowed the tail to strike his side, wincing as he felt the damage to his aura, then quickly wrapped his arm around it. No doubt, the monster didn't expect that! The next moment, he followed up with a thrust to the back of its right thigh. He couldn't quite see Krysanthe thanks to the Redcap's capelike wing in the way, but he trusted completely that she'd avoided the easily telegraphed blow. He refocused his attention to the Redcap which, having registered the sudden wound in its leg from behind, lifted a leg to deliver to him a brutal kick. Instead, Abel stepped to the side, tugging hard on the tail as he did, and the Grimm was forced to alter the kick's path into the ground to avoid losing its balance. Next, it began to beat its wings to rise into the air, generating a battering gust of wind as it did, before slashing at Abel with its claws. Krysanthe, for the moment, had been forgotten. Abel smirked as he deflected the swipe with his Ampere and yanked on the tail again. Things hadn't gone quite to plan, but surely Krysanthe would understand the role reversal. Now the guardian was the distraction, and it would be up to the girl in yellow to burst the distracted beast's bloody bubble.
Perhaps we can find some kind of program that could help with that.

For the consideration of everyone:

Name: Stillwater
Location Type: Township
Pokemon Types: Bug, Water, Ghost, Psychic, Dark, Poison, Rock

Lore:
A relic of the past can be found only about twelve miles southwest of Feyhollow Town: Stillwater, an antiquated fishing village. Standing at the delta of a river said to originate in the Atana Mountain Range, and propagated in the marshland that covers the area between Stillwater and Feyhollow Forest, this town is a quiet, remote place with a culture all its own.

If one has a desire to live the simple life, Stillwater is the place. Free from big-city hubbub, it is an escape from the modern world. Here, people may fish, farm, or make goods to trade in order to live. Many find meaning in their work, and in their role in the community. It is a close-knit, personable place, where people treat one another with family. Outsiders may be regarded with suspicion, for Stillwater's people are used to being looked down on by those who consider themselves sophisticated, but it is not an unwelcoming place. In fact, it is an extremely popular stopover location for trainers on their journeyers seeking to experience different walks of life.

Outside the village, the unique shoreline provides a prime location for adventure. Various remote dwellings litter its versatile terrain, from tucked away in chasms to perched on the edge of cliffs. It is home to so many grottoes, tunnels, and secret places that many consider it to be a natural labyrinth. Tales abound of hauntings and surreptitious dealings, from ghost shipwrecks to rituals of dark magic in the seaside caves. A large variety of rare Pokemon can be found here as well.

The inhabitants of the village attribute Stillwater's peaceable, slow atmosphere to a legendary Pokemon of the moonlit night, said to bring good dreams to people who treat one another well and bestow cruel nightmares on evildoers. Pokemon researchers conclude that the area is frequented by either Lunaala or Darkrai. Some visitors to the town, however, claim that the interference of the mysterious Pokemon is not as good . The town's old and sick, on the precipice of death, invariably disappear in the night only to be found stretched out on the beach in the morning. Missing persons -and even ships- are more common here than anywhere else in the region. However, these doubts are never substantiated; naysayers seldom stay for long, and none who've awoken suddenly in the night as if from nightmares have ever wanted to return to Stillwater.

Stillwater Poke Mart

An open-air storefront situated near the top of the village's iconic waterfall, catering to visiting trainers.

Stillwater Mission Board

A large board tacked to the wall inside the Poke Mart. The shopkeeper, a village elder very familiar with the town and its happenings, will approve missions

@ToadRopes
I imagine costs will remain the same but it will be posted in the OOC first for joint approval.

Yep, that's what I'm doing with the new location I am going to posit that will be near Feyhollow.

My hope is that a bunch of people in Feyhollow will journey to this place next.
<Snipped quote by Lugubrious>

Isn't it close to sunset now since tomorrow's the 24th?

Bah, that's true. Guess I'll go ahead and forsake the interaction to write about her day.
@zarkun and @eklispe are you planning to have your characters interact with Olivie during breakfast?
With the departure of our GM, and no appointment of a replacement, I imagine that such decisions will be made by an impromptu 'council' of other players. Anyone who's interested in whatever, from the restructuring of an RP system to a creation or new player approval, would be able to weigh in in such a system. With that in mind:

I move to approve the sheets of @SillyPhilly and @Tripington so they may begin playing.
