Scar

Hearing a voice behind him, the Foxman couldn't help but grimace. It was Kris, opening her big mouth again and blabbering about things which she didn't know about nor understood. And once again to boot, she was involving herself in his business. One day he might slit the blonde's throat-ok maybe not, a bit of an exaggeration. But he certainly felt like he wanted to.

Regardless, he chose to flat out ignore the ear and eyesores, since Dianne joined them for double the annoyance, and focus on the men before him with their strange accents, broken language abilities and somewhat hurried hand signs. The Foxman had been around long enough to visit a few places, and their accent was one he recognised. But what was it?

It was Ching Chong China Land or something or another. At least, that was how the kitsune remembered the Nazar Empire. Close enough right? Now, he couldn't actually speak the language or anything like that so the language barrier was still very much a problem but things were beginning to connect in his head. "Never thought I would find a couple of Imperial assassins locked up in here. I heard you guys were actually good at your job." Picking at his teeth, he rolled his eyes and finally looked towards Kris.

"If they wanted to do so, they could've quite easily in that chaos. Need to work on your perception, oh mighty leader." With a mocking tone, he reached down into his throwing knives. Didn't feel like sharing his bolts or needles, but he could spare these guys a knife or two. At least something to defend themselves. "Unless you're braindead, which I fear you are, they wanna be allies....though they're off to a bad start." With a loud exhale, he stopped rummaging through his throwing knives and gave the two a look that was a mixture of both annoyance and suspicion.

"Really?"

With a sigh and shake of his head, his ears suddenly twitched. He could hear the sounds of battle renewed nearby. But something seemed....off about it. Oh god. Having realised what may have happened in the few moments he had left the damned girl unattended, Scar quickly turned on his heel and made his way through the smoke. "If you wanna escape, then come with us." Was all he added to his little conversation with the duo, he ran past Kris and Dianne and into the now diminishing smokescreen.

Hopefully, that damned Macey hadn't gotten herself in over her head, though knowing the girl she damn well would've tried to. Why weren't the others watching over her?!

Unused to the slayers' enhanced sensations, everything around them was a little difficult to take in at first. Especially as her mind grappled with the stark reality of having to actually fight real, breathing dragons. No matter how much one tried to prepare, it was a completely different beast when the time had arrived. The healing song helped with the overwhelming senses, but it did little to ease the fear that racked her entire being. She could hear both Penny and Ryujin speak to her, but the words seemed to go in one ear and out the other as her body started to feel numb.

As if moving on their own, her hands swiftly moved to cover her ears as the excruciatingly loud roar pierced through her mind and brought her back to reality, crying out as both she and Penny crouched down. Her ears were still ringing even as the second roar seemed to shake the entire island around them. Her eardrums felt like they were about to burst if the roar lasted any longer, the area around them soon being cloaked in darkness. Almost as if someone had dimmed down the sun.

If any colour was left in the girl's face before, then it was surely gone now as she gaped upward towards the massive monstrosity that flew overhead. With eyes wider than the Amazon, she sat there completely paralyzed by such a sight. Not even the island's violent shaking, nor the falling of trees seemed to snap her out of her temporarily trance.

But the surge of magic that she felt flow through her body? Yeah, that did the trick. She wasn't sure if it was from the healing song or a subconscious use of her own magic, but soon her hearing returned as she shook her head and smacked her palms into her cheeks. Snap out of it! If she didn't keep her attention on the island, then she won't have one for much longer. She signed up for this, so no use complaining now.

Rajah by this point was also covering her ears, cursing loudly. The roars seemed to hurt her sensitive hearing. Though she could still easily make out Iggy's voice, slowly floating over to him as the swearing from her progressively got worse. It put sailors to shame honestly. But it also meant she stuck close to Iggy, for a meatshield if nothing else.

With Penny's help, she began to run. Though her legs were shaky and numb, they felt better with each step she took. Though it didn't stop her occasional stumbling. She didn't know where they were running, between the unfamiliarity of both terrain and scents she was no chance of being able to sniff out her fellow guildmates, but at this stage anywhere was better than here.

Right?

So much had happened over the short time they had arrived on the island, even if it felt like they had been here longer. But this? This took the cake. While some panicked over the sight of the dragon, frozen in place by Time Lord, Ash did nothing more than stare blankly up at the creature. Seeing one of these legendary monsters up close was both equally terrifying...and disappointing. She wasn't sure what it was, whether she thought they would be bigger, spikier, scarier, or whatever. But she couldn't help but feel a little disappointed at the sight of the red dragon, and whatever fear she felt soon began to turn into a different yet similar feeling.

"Well, at least this saves time yeah?" The pyromancer strode forward and cracked her knuckles loudly but soon stopped as Ferrin's words reached her. "Tsk. But it's right here.." grinding her teeth, she glared towards the fire dragon. Every instinct in her body screamed for her to attack the thing. That's what they were here for after all. To defeat the dragons. And here one was, alone up against them all. It made sense to knock it out before it had a chance to team up with it's 'friends' surely!

Her arms flung up instinctively when she first saw the flames, confusion soon following as the heat one usually associated with them was nonexistent. The illusion only served to annoy her further, half turning to Sasha. She also wanted them to pull back?! She had to be joking, surely. Ash was here to do one thing and one thing only, fight. And now that she had the chance, they were telling her not to? Normally, she might just go 'screw them' and attack the thing anyway...but then she remembered, she had to actually listen to Sasha. Such was the General's orders. Taking a deep breath, she allowed herself to turn away from the dragon. "In that case, I ain't going nowhere till you do. The General would be mightily annoyed if I turned tail and ran, only for something to happen to ya you know?" Shaking her head, she walked over to Sasha and put a hand on her shoulder. "But uh, don't scream like that again. I was more freaked out by that than the actual dragon."
Scar

Between the invisibility and the smoke, along with some assitance from the bigger guy swinging his sword around, Scar made short work of the prisoners. Especially as they slowed down from the needles he had been throwing at them, their bodies slowly growing numb before being cleaved in half by Hawke. Or, alternatively stabbed in the throat by Scar. One unlucky bloke got stabbed by his own teammates as Scar, armed with garrote wire, came up from behind him and began to strangle him, doubled as a human shield when his 'friends' noticed an opportunity to get at the previously unsighted Kitsune. Soon after they were cleared out from behind by Hawke and Scar was gone again, having made short work of that group of prisoner's.

However, if one could see how mad his ears were twitching they would understand why he continued to move around undetected in the smoke. Their movements were swift, trained assassins if Scar had to wager a guess. He could barely make out their footsteps, but they were in here somewhere. One could hear him swear as he covered his ears when Hawke dragged aether across the ground. Fuck that hurt his ears, what was that fucking idiot doing?!

And that was when he found them. Not in the way he imagined though. He had been distracted by the loud screech of metal on concrete, slipped over a pool of blood like it was a banna peel in a cartoon and crashed forwards into the invisible duo. Completely bowling them over and slamming the three of them into the wall. A little dazed as he pushed himself up, he groaned and shook his head. He was going to kill that musclebrained dumbass after this was done. "So, what's your deal?" Scar asked as he pointed his weapon towards them. "You could've attacked us, but instead you're creeping about here. You didn't flee either...so tell me or...well, I think you get the idea." He gestured to the dead prisoners scattered about the smokescreen. Kinda obvious what would happen to the duo. They were more than likely trained assassins, so they wouldn't go down quickly if it resorted to a fight. But so was Scar, and the biggest difference was that he was very much armed. And they were literally without a single scrap of weaponry or armour on them, it was clear who was the likely winner in this scenario.
Jasmine Lockwood and Rajah

@MarshiestMallow
Penny was right in her assumption, the younger girl's screaming ending almost as quickly as it started. Once she realised she was no longer falling, nor rapidly ascending, she allowed her eyes to slowly pry open. She was immediately greeted by the sight of Rajah, arms and mouth filled with fish and dripping with water. It didn't take a genius to work out what the little exceed had done in the short time they had been here, and honestly was it even a surprise?

Rajah opened her mouth to say something when Iggy took one of her fish, but in doing so dropped one of the fish she was trying to eat. She was quick to shut it again and grab it before it fell too far, instead choosing to narrow her eyes at the older exceed. He had better not be planning to eat that later himself, she caught that fair and square! Upon Penny's words, she swallowed the fish she had been devouring and wiped her mouth. "Hmph." Letting out a discontent snort, she soon followed after the red-head. Even Rajah knew there was no point in arguing and fighting right now.

Jasmine kept quiet as they approached the Island, seeming to try and shrink back as the stench of the tainted ethernano in the air hit her nostrils. It was so thick and disgusting, surrounding them entirely almost and making the dragon slayer sick to her stomach. Just what could be causing such a vile miasma around the island? Upon touching down on the island, if it wasn't for Penny's tight grip on her Jasmine might've collapsed from the weakness she felt begin to build up.

Then came a sudden tensing up of the girl as she sniffed the air around the duo, her face slowly growing more confused. What was this scent? It was familiar, yet she couldn't think of a single time she had smelt something like this. It was so hard to describe, and at first, it was difficult to pick up amongst the sickening corrupted magic that hung in the air. But now the more she looked hard for this slight scent, the more she noticed it. And, instinctively, seemed to be dreading it.

"It seems like those little furballs were telling the truth..."] Ryujin's voice almost made Jasmine jump out of her skin, visibly jolting both herself and Penny. "I had hoped that the exceed's were mistaken, but there's no doubting it. We're dealing with-"]

"-Dragons." Jasmine finished for the ancient soul, her voice coming out in a soft mumble as the colour slowly drained further from her face. This was what she had come here to help deal with, but now the very realy real prospect of having to fight one was starting to hit home.
Scar

Well, there were a few of them weren't there? Even before their two comrades had dropped dead, the group of inmates rushed their way. With his crossbow reloaded, he calmly raised it and fired a bolt between one of their eyes. Making sure to aim towards the middle of the group, very hard to dodge being surrounded by his 'friends' after all. With that done, Scar was quick to discard the crossbow as the group approached, he wasn't going to get much of a chance to reload here, and drew his short sword and dagger. He had just recast invisibility when the smoke bombs rolled past him and went off. Macey was, of course, the thrower of said bombs, she was the only one who used them.

Now, Scar could easily bypass this group. His invisibility magic made that a piece of cake, hell with this smokescreen alone he could do it. Both of them combined, these plebs had no chance of catching him. However he was also aware that Macey was getting Kris out of harms way at this moment, so someone had to buy them some time now didn't they? Kris he couldn't give much of a damn about, but he owed Macey one for the sandwich earlier. Sure, it was a horrid sandwich. But a debt was a debt, and Scar wasn't going to let any debts drag out.

As the smoke grew thicker around the kitsune, he took a moment to crack his neck and place the dagger handle between his teeth. Well then, it was time to get to work. With the group well and truly upon him, he reached into his pocket and flung a fistful of needles towards the approaching group. Again aiming for the middle, he was bound to hit some of them that way. Then with that out of the way, he really began to kick things up a gear. Leaping up into the air, he did an over the top flip just for show before landing atop one of the prisoners as he ran where Scar was just moments ago. Very soon after Scar's dagger was impaled in the man's throat and withdrawn, lashing out with a kick towards the nearest prisoner and a slash with his short sword towards another. With a couple second's delay, along with another showboaty flip back into the smoke, he was invisible once again. Also kicking the dead prisoner back into his comrades in the process before more needles soon followed.

With them well and truly aware of his presence in the smoke, though finding his exact location would be like finding a needle in a haystack for these unfortunate saps, he began to move around and whittle down their numbers. Dashing in for a few attacks before disappearing and retreating once more. Why stop at just buying time? Unless something could stop him, he would kill every single one of them himself. Of course a few could get through to the others, he couldn't hold off all twenty by himself. But damn was he trying his best to.

The sound of a familiar voice made Adelyn narrow her eyes. Great, just who she wanted to come to talk to her. And he was using such vulgar cusses again, though it came as no surprise to the young lady. He was just a savage after all. "I'm fine thank you very much. I have this under control." Hmphing, the girl pushed herself back up to her feet only to stumble slightly. Her hands went to hold the backwards glider up, glaring daggers at the contraption.

"They make it seem so easy..." she mumbled softly under her breath, her thoughts filled with memories of her brothers using gliders. Sure, they were state of the art and hot off the press, and these ones were...what, the first prototypes? But still, they had used them so effortlessly. Yet she was struggling with just putting the thing on. It was just another source of frustration for the girl.

It was about this time that Amara went to push past them, Adelyn was too busy fiddling with the glider to try and turn it the other way, which she now noted was the way the others wore theirs much to her chagrin, to really pay the girl much attention. She just let the girl pass and grumbled some words under her breath.

"I said I have this." She snapped at Laz, pulling it up and back over her head. "So don't touch me. Don't even come within five metres of me." she managed to wriggle out of the suit, glowering at him while patting down her shirt. "I don't even want to breathe the same air as you so refrain from breathing in my vicinity. In fact please cease breathing and save us all the trouble."

It was at this moment that the magic in the room caught her interest and she cast a quick glance in Amara's direction as she finished summoning her wind elemental. Huh, so that was the short girl's magic? Adelyn hadn't really seen it in action before. She didn't even really know if she had talked to the girl yet, then again she didn't really care to talk to any of them. But at least she seemed somewhat...decent.

Holding the harness to chest, she watched somewhat intrigued as the wind elemental jetted around the room. One of the first places it stopped was right in front of her followed by a gentle breeze, her face doing it's best impersonation of a tomato briefly and a loud thud before a flash of white.

As in, a flash that enveloped the entire room and blinded anyone unfortunate to be looking at Adelyn at the time her skirt was flipped. The pure white light lasted for no longer than a couple of seconds, but it was enough for Adelyn. But poor Laz would've been right at the epicentre of the spell. When it faded, the glider was on the ground and Adelyn was holding her skirt down, her face still flushed crimson.

"....Say your prays." And at that, she shot a Divine Arrow at the wind elemental.
Elizabeth and Megu

@Ithradine
The trip to the fort was rather uneventful. Boring in fact. If the trip wasn't so short, Elizabeth might've just wandered off and let Megu investigate the place. She was far more interested in the greenery around her then some ruined fort. She hadn't been outside in so long, and there was plenty of wildlife around that she hadn't seen before. Even in Yggdrasil. But soon enough her crimson gaze fell upon it's ruined state. The fort itself was a building of rather ugly design, especially compared to the beauty and magnificence of the Cathedral.

Though it was an impressive size, being made of stone and stretching far up into the sky. It must've been five...or maybe six or so stories tall. Her gaze fell further down onto what she assumed was the battlefield for the slaughter which had happened here. Broken weapons littered the bloodstained field, but a surprising lack of bodies. Had they disposed of them already?

That question was rather swiftly answered by the next sight as she and Megu silently approached the tower. It was rather clear for Megu, but for Elizabeth, it took some strain to see. The large piles of countless limbs and body parts. It would seem they hadn't disposed of them all that well at all, instead opting to just stack the corpses atop one another and leave them to rot. The smell was nothing short of putrid and caused the girl to wrinkle her nose in disgust. Truly they were dealing with barbaric savages with no respect for their fallen foes, they could've at least used the parts if they weren't going to dispose of them properly. No matter, she was sure one of the others might be able to at least use some of it. Waste not want not after all.

"Megu, check the corpses. Maybe there's a familiar emblem, anything of note. I'll look to try and find wherever these savages keep their records." After a quick moment of thought, Elizabeth barked out some quick orders before striding towards the hole in the fort wall.

"Of course Mi'lady, I shall do so with haste." Megu was concise in her response, following after her mistress. Kneeling down besides the first pile, she began to shift through it. Making sure to carefully examine the first few corpses or limbs atop the pile. Not only looking for an emblem that might help aid in where they currently where, but also to check the bodys overall condition. If they were still in 'reasonable' condition, then maybe Tatter or someone of that ilk had use for them. If nothing else, food for their various 'pets'.

While Megu searched that, Elizabeth was quick to get away from the overwhelming stench of death and decay. Not because such things bothered her, one only looked at who her Father was to know that was untrue. But more because it reminded her too much of him, the fact he was gone still being a rather raw subject for her. Once inside the fort proper, she wandered how best to find wherever the equivalent of a records room would be. The place was rather large, so searching it room by room would take far too long. And she lacked the correct skillset, being a mage more focused on healing and combat, to search it that way. So instead she would prioritise and search any rooms that looked promising, or ones that at least looked like they contained something interesting anyway.
