Talking in riddles is fun. Putting them to poem is better. Presentation is the key.

Well it isn't so much of what she did, and more of just how things played out. We have known each other for about 5 years. Just do his summer I finally got my shut together with a good job, I am just 21, and was like "yeah, I am so ready for a relationship!" this is where things seemed to be falling into place perfectly: I am from Oregon, she still lives there, and a friend of ours was having a wedding to which I was flying in to attend. Me and her had been talking about how their family was hosting the party at their place, a great big farm house and barn, and how living arrangements could be made for me there for the few days I was coming. I thought this was all perfect, a gift from God, fate smiling on me, what have you. We had been conversing all year with each other, our familys get along great, I used to study theology under her father, finally got a stable full-time job, and I was staying with them allowing me to talk over having a long distance relationship with their daughter! How much more perfect is this!

Three days until my flight I am packing some things and relaxing reading a book when I get a snapchat. 36 hours before I get there she snapchating everyone about her new boyfriend (life's ultimate dick punch). That made this trip a lot more awkward for me! Now I am stuck never having been able to "love" her and not being able to have the girl I have had a crush on for almost 4 years.
Why does love hurt so bad?

Sorry if this is not an appropriate topic.
I am sorry everyone, I am going to put this on pause for a little while. I am having a hard time dealing with some deeper than expected life stuff atm. It has been hard for me to get into the head space of writing, as well as generally getting motivated. Again very sorry.

I will mention you all when I can get back to this. Hopefully no longer than a week, but I will keep you all informed.
@Weird Tales there are two people in Midtown and two people in Uptown, zero people have gone to the prison mainly for the reasons there is already a lot of security and staff there to aid and they are criminals anyways. It is up to you!

So some jungle in Brazil. Why on Earth would they go to shitty jungle when the Hall of Justice is in Metropolis? If the message was so urgent then flying for hours is a waste of time. Apparently Cassidy wasn't programmed very well.

The only part of that post that said Urgent was the text sent to Malacoda and that was to get his attention. Cassidy does not know much about each of you so in that case she could only deduce a person of interest on Malacoda's contact list, but has no clue what to really say to him. As for the location of the base; there is a reason it is in the middle of nowhere and that is story bits. You do not have to plow through the main story either I wouldn't advise it as it would make for a very bland story and there are many opportunities for character development that the main story won't have. Cassidy also is not human by any stretch of the matter and therefore cannot always gauge the best approach to a situation. She is independent of the rest of the JLA system too meaning that from her activation in post 1 she had to learn everything up to now from the JLA systems and world news/media/what-have-you. Give her a break she didn't choose to be where she is.

Gotham Uptown: Gotham Law Library

After the ordeal of Khnemu and Malacoda’s mental dual and the mild destruction caused by Khnemu tensions in the area only got worse as people tried to flee from both the bomb threat and sand beast. Police began to surround the building as khnemu lay dead. ”Dispatch we have another 10-10 involving what looks like the same perp from the Lex Corp. Building Site 10-35 and Malacoda Zatanna. Perp seems to be-” he cut himself short as Khnemu was revived and disintegrated the officer that had shot him and moved in to confirm the situation. The gathered officers stood speechless, as they watched a fellow officer be killed in a way so unbelievable.”Officer down! permission to-"

”10-4, please be advised the perp is in the care of Malacoda for the time being. Secure the perimeter, and 10-12. Civilian evac is top priority. Perp can be delt with after the threat is cleard"

after the bulk of the people were evacuated a few of the units packed up and headed off along with some of the empty buses while others stayed behind taking the rest of the citizens to safety. A couple units surrounded the Law Library and hunkered down as Khnemu re-entered with Malacoda.
---___---

Inside the Law Library, after things had settled down, it was quiet as sand settled in various places all over. The building was a large open three story construction with the focal point of the building being the large circular desks and counters at the center of the main floor. Above was it was open all the way to the domed roof where an oversized chandelier hung. The two upper floors, due to the open center, were more of large balconies giving effect of a larger space than it actually was. Each floor had numerous bookshelves that reached all the way to the ceiling acting as both book storage and supports.

Sand had settled within the library, brought about by Khnemu, covering most of the floors, desks, and shelves. Listening closely one would be able to hear very faint scratching sounds on both the second and third floor as well as a couple of muffled coughs. On the desks in the center of the main floor there were scattered files and books.

Hayato’s interrogation

Both the gang members were taken off guard by the sudden appearance of this new hero figure, and the man in the orange bandana let out a cry as Hayato delivered a firm kick to his knee sending him to the ground followed by a heavy foot landing on his arm. Grabbing Hayato’s foot he tried to struggle free, wheezing under the weight and then letting out another yell as he grabbed for his shattered knee. The man in the Blue watched in surprise as he was hoisted into the air. Laughing a little he spit at the man lying on the ground before being addressed by Hayato. ”Ha!, you think if I knew where the bomb was I would be fighting this greaser scum!” He replied, referring to the man in orange who was part of a chop-shop group.

Agent
Arriving a short time after Hayato had the scene hadn’t changed much other than there were now a few busses that had been sent down from Uptown due to overflow. People were still just as scared and swarmed the overwhelmed officers trying to get to the busses. Other people avoided the rush to get on a transport and instead walked in large groups out of the area.

A helicopter had showed up slowly shining its light around the masses of people and hovering around the area altogether. From the chopper came a familiar voice; Commissioner Gordon. ”Attention Gothamites! This is Commissioner Gordon! Please remain calm and proceed to the transports in an orderly fashion.” The people all paused for a moment looking up to the chopper circling overhead. ”We are getting more units and transports on the way. If you can remain calm we can get through this as we always have; together” After this announcement the people seemed a bit calmer, but were still rushing about. busses and more units were arriving as time passed
Name: Major Ashton Beaufort

Title/Alias: Gotham's Soldier (she will never refer to herself as this, but it's what the news has started calling her.)

Picture/Description: Ashton stands at 5'10" (and that's not even with her combat boots on) and is muscular from her years in the service. Her skin is tanned and she does have sunglasses tan lines but chances are nobody will ever know since she very rarely takes them off. Her eyes are light brown - but again, sunglasses so it's not a well known fact. Her dirty blond hair lives in a permanent stage of Military Donut Bun.

Powers/Abilities: Military training as well as basic martial arts training. Best with a gun or knife but has taught herself how to fight hand to hand.

Gear(optional): Almost all her gear is standard military type. For weapons she has, an M11 handgun, a Ka-Bar combat knife, a M4 carbine, and various grenades (including frag, smoke, and stun). She wears modified combat gear; it's been dyed black to blend in better and she has added more bullet-proof ceramic plating into it. She also wears sunglasses and a helmet - also painted black like her uniform. She also has binoculars, night-vision goggles, a mag light, flares, and a basic first-aid kit.

Personality: The typical soldier; she is stoic and strong, obedient when she has respect for her leaders, but doesn't take shit. She is fiercely protective of the innocent people of Gotham and will put her life on the line for them. While she may come off as cold, when she does relax and let the soldier-mode slip, she is kind albeit a tad snarky.

Bio: Ashton grew up in Gotham with a single mother. She never knew her father, but honestly, it was never really a big deal for her. It was pretty ordinary. Growing up in Gotham made her tough, but it never made her mean. She was the kid that would beat a bully black and blue then walk the bullied kid home to make sure they were safe. It was no surprise that she ended up idolizing Batman - and later Batwoman as well. It was even less of a surprise that she signed up for the Marines when she was old enough.

After ten years in the Marines, Ashton became a Major and was working on becoming a Lieutenant Colonel when the Justice League went missing. Ashton retired from the Marines and made her way home to Gotham, only to find it much worse than it ever had been. Crime was even more rampant than it had ever been now that Batman was gone.

It started out as just helping here and there; disarming a robber who happened to be in the same convenience store as her, stopping assaults on civilians, etc. But as crime got worse, Ashton started dedicating herself more and more to stopping it. While she doesn't really consider herself a superhero by any means - after all, she's just a retired soldier - fighting crime has become her day job and she has started to become a known figure in Gotham.

Another soldier type, this will be fun!

@Burning Kitty sorry, I worded that wrong. That's what I get for writing a post at 2:40AM. I meant that may want to look up the coordinates mentioned in the post about Cassidy. Those coordinates are the general location of the base where Cassidy is located.
I have caught up with reading, and what a ride it was. I have some posts to make for some civilians/police officers, as well as an encounter to continue moving with one of the locations.

@Burning Kitty I would encourage you, and everyone else, to look up the GPS coordinates on the googles before trying to say you are approaching the base. Getting there is more of an encounter as a team as well, but can be done alone if you choose. Also I would much appreciate that you stop portraying the police and people as trigger happy Luddites, this is the DCU after all... it wont be their first rodeo with weird shit.
I have tomorrow off, I will be reading up to date and making a post. Sorry for my absence.
