Katrina Marie Kingston

Personality:

Katrina is a kind soul with a big heart. If there's one thing she isn't too good at it's being serious and solemn. It's hard for her to rein in her emotions, to restrain herself. She's warm, friendly, and very affectionate. She likes to make people laugh as much as she likes laughing herself. Bearer of a confident, comfortable aura, people find themselves warming up to her quickly; she's far from being shy. Generally kind to a fault, this attribute has been abused on more than one occasion. Kat is self aware to this but will likely help them all the same.

Though attempting at airs of being a lady, growing up in the wilderness she is a bit of a tomboy. She can be oblivious to emotions regarding herself, be it from romantic hintings to passive aggression. She's fairly dense. Katrina is the worst liar of all time and any time she tries to lie, no matter how nonchalant she tries to be, her voice jumps up an octave.

Katrina loves the darkness and often takes midnight strolls. Throwing caution to the wind doesn't tell the half of it; the girl is just accident prone. She doesn’t feel the need to always be in control of life, all the same she is stubborn when she has made a decision. She loves to daydream and this is why she is so happy in Wonderland at all times, because her life is a dream. She can be very playful and teasing, something Chess knows rather well. She generally always has one or two inside jokes running around. She loves surprises, and the Wonderland version of Christmas is her favorite time of year. She especially looks forward to the balls that occur right around that time.

She loves to sing and her voice is part of the reason that the garden reacts so well to her. Singing flowers definitely prefer someone who can actually carry a tune without the use of a bucket. When she is doing something absentmindedly you will find her humming instead. Katrina can be embarrassed relatively easily and if she is caught singing she will blush bright red. Katrina carries around a lot of doubt of herself deep down and does her best to hide this major flaw. She’d rather lock emotions up and do her best to be happy. Unfortunately, every now and then, these fears escape in the form of hot tears in the solitude of the night. She never lets it get her down though.

'History':

No one is really sure where Katrina came from, not even Katrina herself. She just simply appeared one day, when she was a young girl, and she was wandering in the woods unable to find her way. That was she came across the young Cheshire, whom helped her find her way and they were close ever since. They often when on mischievous adventures together, for a trip with the Cheshire cat can be nothing else.

Growing up she was raised in the white castle as she had no other place to go for at the time the Hatter himself was also still young. It wasn’t until she became a teenager that she requested to move to the garden areas close to the woods she has always been mesmerized with. This was allowed as Katrina was responsible enough to take care of herself. Over the years she has planted numerous seeds making the garden what it is today. She has a strong connection with the plants many of their emotions can be directly related to Kat’s.

Katrina lives in a small cottage just big enough for two or so people. Sometimes she allows ‘Alices’ to live with her and work in the garden with her but most the time she is alone. She loves having visitors for the reason, but as the garden is on the edge of town it is not often she sees a new face. Luckily, Chess comes by often enough to visit her that she never truly gets lonely. That and the fact she works in the bakery in town and is well known for her delicacies. Her garden reacts to her alone now and is defensive over her. Something that can be problematic for a wandering ‘Alice’.

Job:

She owns the gardens close to the woods and is the caretaker for the grounds. When she is gone for abnormally long periods of time the garden becomes depressed and the plants may act out. At this time it is especially dangerous even to those it's known or been friendly to before.

Crush:

Growing up together along with him often being a solace from her solitude, Katrina is hopelessly in love with her best friend Chess. Oh, but she could never tell him that! Risk losing him?! She would never.

Other:

No one can be happy all the time. Kat wrestles with the dynamic of needing to be viewed as a strong fortress who has their life together to sometimes wishing she was allowed to fall apart. The fear of keeping up the image and no worrying those who care about her leads to her not reaching out at times. It's possible for those who are really close to her to notice something is 'off'. Whether they act on this or not is a different story.

As far as where she came from she tends not to think about it. Katrina has been curious as to whether the White or Red King know her real past (their leaders of the land...shouldn't they know?) but so far she hasn't had the courage to ask. It's easier to distract herself from the thought all together.

Personality:

Hatter is a vague and mysterious kind of person with more layers than an onion. On the outside he can appear to be slightly hard-shelled and rough around the edges; it doesn't take too terribly long to realize underneath it all is a gentle caring spirit. This can easily be seen through the efforts he goes through in order to care for each of the 'Alices'. He can be viewed as a smooth talker and he appears to be a gentleman. Most the time the Hatter does his best to not be outspoken on most matters; this means that when he does speak business that it is serious. From the outer perspective it would seem as though the world is his oyster and that all the cards are in his hands, but looks are not always what they seem.

Underneath everything, at his core is a hidden (most the time) mess. If Hatter is cooped up for too long or denied any type of freedoms that he desires he will quickly go completely mad. This stems to his childhood, which consisted of constant explosions in temper. As he has aged his anger matured into a more passive type of aggression. Still, at times when it all becomes too much, his old temper will come out as hot as coals. He tries his best to keep this from happening; thus far he has yet to explode on any 'Alices'. His fears do a good job at keeping many of his emotions at bay, but they too cause an issue locked away deep down. When in a fight he generally never loses and his intellect is a big reason behind this.

Though the Mad Hatter's shell may seem impenetrable, everything has its weak spot, one just needs to know how to get to it. Underneath it all is a soft, caring, and warm type of personality. It just takes the right type of person or right situation to bring this out. This can be seen within the Hatter's random spells of over protectiveness. He keeps a keen eye out for those that are important to him and he will go out of his way to do something special for them. He is actually quite sensitive and intuitive to his surroundings.

Hatter loves his tea time and has a struggle for tardiness. He can be very defensive over what he deems belongs to him. He tends to fall into spells of melancholy but he tries to avoid people at these times as to not arouse unwanted commentary. His moods can be ever changing based on what he is thinking about. In more playful times he is apse to be sillier and light hearted. He is a hardcore prankster during such occasions. All in all he actually is a pretty easy going kind of guy and is usually up for anything.

Finally, he is a hopeless romantic (he tries to hide this but it comes out in the little things he does). He doesn't like this about himself because it got him hurt once (yet some habits you just can't give up and he will probably never be any less hopeless or romantic).

'History':

The Mad Hatter has always been in Wonderland, although a lot of his history he cannot remember. What he can remember is the fire to his father’s shop which took his parents lives. Before that time he was only known as the Hatter, but afterwards he would go into his spells in personality twists. Since then he has been known as the Mad Hatter. Over time he, with the help of the White King, he was able to build his first hat shop and eventually was able to build his own town.

Hatter stopped aging when he turned 21 years old. No one understands why the time in Wonderland quit moving forward...it just did. Many speculate this phenomenon correlates with the holes appearing between dimensions starting with the appearance of the original Alice. Since then the weakening borderlines have allowed more and more strangers through. They Wonderlanders simply refer to the visitors as ‘Alices’ no matter if they are male or female.

The original Alice came when the Hatter first turned 21 and had just begun his mini empire. She was only a bit younger and she stole his heart away. The time they spent together could not be measured. Naturally, when she decided to pick the real world over him it broke his heart. Now he is much more careful, though he does know that one day he will love again. Until then his job is to help the new members of Wonderland while they are here on their temporary (unfortunately) stay.

The Mad Hatter has a problem in falling for the girl ‘Alices’ but rather than allow himself to catch feelings he often just flirts to avoid getting hurt. Also the term mad has a double meaning including both his anger and is craziness.

It also should be noted that the Hatter is an excellent pianist as well as dancer. He often enjoys teaching one to one classes before a ball.

Personality:

Dee is not the type of girl who is willing to take anyone’s bullsh**. She is a strong and independent individual and chances are she doesn't need or care about someone's approval. In Dee’s eyes if you have a problem with her it sounds like a personal issue and maybe you need to get over yourself. This closed-mindedness is a character fault that derives from the way she was raised; stubbornness has caused for it to be deep rooted. They say that anyone can change. Nonetheless, the likelihood in her case is not high.

Her tough and determined demeanor allows her to intimidate most into either staying out of her way or giving in to her desires. Deeandra realizes that it is easier to attract people and make friends with kindness, but after the cards that the world has dealt to her she does not care if she is Miss Congeniality or not.

If one expects to break through her hard outer shell to find someone warm and cuddly they will be bitterly disappointed. The world has burned her and she locked away her childish dreams of a ‘happily ever after’ long ago. Luckily, there are some positive qualities beneath all of the prickles that are Deeandra. First of all she is always honest, brutally though. Unless you want the whole truth and nothing but the truth, do not ask her for her opinion. She will tell you in the bluntest fashion. This makes for her to be the exact opposite of a two-faced person; she is generally the one someone comes to when they want to know the truth. She does not like to dabble in gossip and finds it to be an immature waste of time.

She is the queen of sarcasm and venomous comments. If you can hold up with her in an argument you will gain major respect on her part. She is tremendously defensive over what matters most to her (being what little that is) and she is not afraid to stand up for it or fight for it. She might suffer a few bloody knuckles and some bruises but she will come out on top. The only soft spot she possesses is for her little sister and (if the time comes) her romantic partner. If you do manage to somehow deal with her and become her friend you will find slightly less bitter comments towards you and that her less violent ‘hatred’ is how she shows her love. At this point she will begin to kid around with you and you will see that the devil’s mistress has a sense of humor.

She spends a lot of time worrying about her sister and wanting to get back home to watch over her. The problem is she has always hated the real world and wants to stay in what little comfort that is Wonderland. But she knows in the end that she will go back because she has always been the one to make the sacrifices….whatever. Still though….

'History':

Dee’s parents are nothing but useless. She lived with her father, an abusive alcoholic. At one point she had a mother who eventually walked out once deciding she wouldn't take another beating. This irrationally selfish decision left the two girls to deal with their father alone. Dee being twelve at the time lost her childhood innocence as she became the new victim to her parent's projectified self hatred. A scapegoat for his own failures, Deeandra became hardened over time as she lost her childhood innocence in the cruelty to which life presented her. Detestation planted itself deep, the only affection left was that towards her kid sister. She protected the young girl with her life, ending up with anywhere from bruises to a broken femur depending on dad's rage.

As she got older she got a job and started to support herself, hiding money under the floorboards of her bedroom to keep the old man from stealing it. Her goal: save up to free the only person she cared about. This dream became reality at the age of 17, finally saving up enough from waitressing to afford a cheap apartment. The two moved away from a past Dee could never forget no matter how hard she tried. That was three years ago, her sister now 16 and working to pitch in. Deeandra never wanted that but she could understand.

Dee hates the place she works at. The guys are always hitting on her and the older women look at her with scorn, as if she is some despicable human being. None of them would have the gall to do what she was doing. Still, with all that life has handed out to her she has become bitter. She was suffering from one of these bitter spells as she was taking out the garbage. When she went to throw the trash in when her ring given to her by her sister fell off. She was digging for it when she fell in. She ended up falling through the ceiling and landing on a desk in from of the Hatter. Grabbing her ring in a frenzied state, she placed it on her finger and quickly collected herself.

Considering she fell through his ceiling and a history of waitressing, one can easily find Deeandra at the local tea shop working hard. Though she isn't crazy about the lolita dress up nonsense, the 'mad' customers here are much more tolerable the those at her old joint.

Inevitably, the woman was not able to escape her childhood unscathed. She suffers from abandonment issues via her mother resulting in reluctance to making long term connections, affecting her socially. She craves the affection denied to her childhood self but ongoing trust issues lead to her never acting on these instincts. Dee's bottled up emotions make her a ticking time bomb when it comes to anger, this lashing out only amplifying her insecurities as she curls deeper and deeper into her own subconscious. All of her affectionate emotions are funneled towards her sister, this causes her to not seek her own happiness. When separated from her sister Dee feels a constant sense of lost that keeps her on edge. Even in sleep she is plagued with nightmares. The fear of others noticing that she is broken (or falling apart rather) is viewed as a weakness in her eyes. She has an unreal amount of paranoia and anxiety that people only want to get to know her to hurt her further.

Unrelated note her other weakness is chocolate. She also knows how to play the piano.

Where has Midnight been?
I underestimated everything in my life apparently as working full time at the hospital this summer proved to be annoyingly more time consuming than I predicted. On the days I worked it was from morning to night, by the time I got home I just wanted to sleep. I found out my health issues were not in fact me dying but just ridiculous amounts of stress stabbing my spirit 15,000 times before tossing my body in the nearest ditch, (don't worry it was found by tourist). Since my grandmother decided to go get 20 polyps in her colon and have 9 of them be cancerous and my dad internal bleeding the last couple weeks (This advertisement has been brought to you by WebMd) I've been unable to get online for the last month and a half.

Welcome to Wonderland, a place where dreams seemingly become reality (that is if your dreams involve somehow ending up in a topsy turvy land in the company of the Mad Hatter Estates). Though no one knows how the lines between Earth and Wonderland become blurred we do know these wink links allow for portals. Still whether you came to this place through a small attic door or by a hole in the floor, each of the ‘Alices’ are always welcome. If one finds themselves stuck in Wonderland, the best thing you can do to pass the time is just enjoy the ride. From theme parks to being royally attired for a ball, there is never a dull moment.

Unfortunately, all is not 'happily ever afters' and rainbows as Wonderland is in the middle of a long waging civil war. Two siblings fight for a right to the crown. The White King prefers to ignore the new arrivals, his sole focus based on his kingdom. The Red King, on the other hand tries to kidnap and imprison the ‘Alices’ in the hopes of unlocking the way back to the real world where he can release his dark magic.

Don't be disheartened as you are in the Hatter's good hands. Enjoy your stay, and most importantly don’t get caught.

'Home of Alices'

Welcome one. Welcome all to the crazy Hatter’s Estate halls. Don’t be down-hearted, don’t you fear. You’ll soon find out, we’re all mad here. This is the place where all the ‘Alices’ live, owned by the renowned Mad Hatter. Both the Hare and the Door-mouse (people) are available to the ‘Alices’ disposal and are the estate’s personal help.

Within the mansion itself there is a bedroom hall for the ladies (East Wing) which is separate from the West Wing where the boy’s dormitory is found. On the first floor one will find the diner area the general layout similar to that of a tea parlor. Large windows allow for easy access to the beautiful scenery. If we move down to the ground floor there is an indoor pool area. Other accessories of the home include private balconies, a roof garden, ballroom, a grand library, and studio rooms.

Throughout the year the Hatter will throw balls as well as other various events relating to ‘Earth’ holidays including (but not limited to) Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas parties. Once a thought comes into his head he will send out invitations and post the idea in the grand hall.

The Hatter also owns the town in which the estate resides. In the town there are many shops including a hat and clothing shop ran by the Hatter (a good place for one to find work), Bakery shops, Trinket shops, among many more. If you need a job and don't know where to go he is your man.

Katrina’s Garden:

The Garden

Candied Rose

Katrina’s garden is a place of magic and beauty. The trees grow candied leaves, and bare the sweetest fruits. In the middle of the garden is a waterfall that flows out a liquid with no description; it simply tastes like whatever you want it to, from sodas to milkshakes there is no limitation The roses grow multicolored and each color is a different flavor. Snazzle bushes grow sour candies of every variety. If you have a sweet tooth of any kind, Katrina’s garden is the place to fill it.

An ‘Alice’ must be wary of what they place in their mouth, as not all of the plants are edible. Many of the flowers in the garden are alive in more ways than one. They can be rather full of gossip so one must heed before taking anything to heart. Still, they are extraordinarily loyal and if you befriend them they will protect you from scouts of the Red King(they have no fear in telling a lie or two).

Katrina herself lives in a small garden home and is often in the company of the Cheshire cat. She loves having visitors so if you are feeling down-hearted, want to be surrounded by nature, or just want to have tea her home is always open. If you are unable to find her here she is probably at her bakery in town. If you please you may find work with her either in the garden or at her bakery.

Cheshire’s Woods (Wanderer’s Doom) :

Chess' Home

Cheshire lives in the Wanderer’s Doom, a place of secrecy and darkness. No one daring to travel in has ever found their way out, at least not on their own. The trees are cruel and they like to get wanderers lost and play tricks on all who enter. One must be wary of all illusions as things are not always as they seem. Only the Cheshire cat, with his ability to disappear, has ever been able to figure out the mystery of these woods. His home lies in the center and the only way to ever get to it is if lead by the Cheshire himself. Next to a waterfall, his home consist of an upper house, where Chess actually lives and a lower section which is ironically a guest home.

The only other creature in the woods are the dangerous of all is the twelve foot tall 'man-eating' gummy bears that call this region their home. Just kidding, they are deliciously harmless….just ask Chess. (;

White Castle:

Castle of Light

This is the location of the White Queen. She runs all of Wonderland and though her heart is good there is much secrecy here too. There is little known about this area as it is suggested the ‘Alices’ do not get involved with the royalty’s affairs. Wonderland has been involved in a long civil war, although the spats have not been as dangerous as some have assumed. The two siblings are a mystery. However, we do know that the White Queen fights against her brother for the better good. If you ever have any problems above the Hatter’s grasp this would be the next safe option…but should only be a last resort.

Red Castle:

Castle of Hearts

This is the home of the Red King (a devilishly handsome man who seems to be even more so personality wise). Try not to fall under a spell of love if you find yourself face to face with him. He captures ‘Alices’ and locks them away in hopes of discovering how they enter and leave Wonderland. He likes to make the girls fall for his adding them into his “Collection of Hearts”. Always stay on your toes. On off chance he doesn’t lock you away he will undoubtedly use you for ransom. However, if you fall under his graces you will find yourself in one of the most beautiful and eloquent places in Wonderland. There is no palace filled with more luxuries than that of hearts.

Once Upon A Rabbit Hole:

Wonderland can be a dream or a nightmare depending on the perspectives and simple tricks of the mind. Everyone fantasizes of escaping to a mystical realm where they can escape the day to day melancholy of normal life. But what if they can't wake up? When reality tears its way through the mind enchantments can falter as doubts set hopes aflame. Does time stop in the 'real' world simply from slipping into this one? For surely this can only be a dream! You'll wake up tucked softly in your bed with the warm feeling of adventure fresh in your heart. Perhaps.

Or maybe your parents are desperately looking for their beloved child, calling a cell phone 20, 40 times. Your little sister cries not understanding why you would leave them without a word. Hours turn into days as you disapeared without a trace. Maybe as you are being threatened by the Red King, sentenced to death by guillotine...maybe just maybe, you don't wake up after this.

Try not to worry too much young Alice. We'd hate for you to go mad.~
