The Morlock Tunnels -> The Luxury - the Washington D.C. Waterfront...

Polaris wasn't aware of Ana's annoyance with her - she wasn't a Queen or King of the Hellfire Club, Ana was. She had joined this organization less than twenty four hours ago, solely because she believed the creation of Genosha was integral to the survival of mutantkind. She hated her father. She knew that his soul was dark and twisted. And she believed that each member of the Hellfire Club was just like him. But unfortunately, the angels weren't going to save her species - she had to deal with the devils in order to survive.

Polaris used her powers to force open the sewer grating above and she climbed up the ladder quickly, emerging into the sparkling daylight at the DC Waterfront. They were lucky - the crowds marching, spreading Stryker's message of hate and fear hadn't bothered with the yachts. It also didn't take Polaris too long to see her half sister over on the Luxury. She used her powers to glide over onto the ship. "Wanda... I didn't expect to see you," Polaris said.

"Oh really? Thought you were clearly father's favorite child, so why wouldn't he tell you?" she snapped, shooting daggers at Polaris with her eyes.

"Come on, we're all friends here," the Three in One reminded the sisters. Only Esme seemed to be a little bit concerned about the cattiness.

"Look, I don't crave Father's approval and honestly, you shouldn't either," Polaris replied, crossing her arms. "He's just a man."

"You can't tell me what to do especially considering the fact that you know nothing and last time I checked you were running around with Xavier's crowd."

Polaris sighed. There was a reason she never really felt close to any of her siblings. "Fine, have it your way, Wanda. I'm the bad guy, happy? Now I'm here to get the triplets and Jinx back. You're welcome to come, if not, then I'll see you at the next funeral."

Aboveground - Mutant Underground Hideout...

"Jackie, you can't Elsa me!" Casper complained. He knew that he wasn't the most serious person around. But even despite all of his flaws, he wasn't about to let Jack just act like he hadn't dropped something mind blowing into their conversation there. It was just about the only thing Jack could have said that was more concerning than the news that their brother had been abducted. "So if your father is Mister Sinister, then..."

"Your mother is more of a whore than we thought?" Ben chimed in.

"Hey, that's my mom you're talking about! Even if it is true!" Casper snapped. He shook his head, continuing to pace in circles. They were too far from Jack's office to just walk to it anyways. "Maybe it isn't true. Maybe it was just something Sinister said to trick you - people like him do that all the time, in order to mess with heroes and Axe body spray enthusiasts like yourself."

The Dining Room - Mutant Underground Hideout...

"Thanks," Blink told Callie with a smile. She sat down against the wall with the kid, giggling slightly at the kid got pizza sauce all over their chin. It was cute and heartwarming however. The ex-Morlock was eating her delicious hot piece of 'za as well. The kid gasped slightly as Professor X wheeled into the room, Veil standing at the side of his floating wheelchair. "Is that..." the kid whispered and Blink nodded slightly. "That's Professor X."

"Pleasure to see you all again," Xavier said, nodding his head.

"Professor... It is good to see you," Kurt gushed slightly, feeling even more at ease in the presence of his mentor. Being rescued by his friend Colossus had been a blessing, but having Xavier here was a gift.

"Professor, I would like you to meet my sister, Illyana," Colossus said, beaming slightly with pride. He had always wanted to introduce his little sister to his family, the X-Men. He hadn't had the chance before - but now he did.

"I prefer the name Magik," Illyana corrected, staring at the bald telepath.

"Hello Kurt, and it is good to meet you Magik."

Veil took in the room for a moment, glad to see that the mutants they rescued were already in better conditions. Once Xavier said what he came here for, she was going to see if the rescued mutants could be taken back to the X-Mansion with him. Beast would likely be able to continue caring for them and from New York, they could easily be sent along the Underground to a station in Canada - a place where the mutant laws were a little looser, allowing them to live something like a normal life again. "I don't mean to make you feel unwelcome, X... But I think we can skip the pleasantries and get into why you're here," Veil said a bit bluntly.

"I'm in DC mainly as my daughter is currently in SHIELD custody and my oldest son is missing. As well as because I heard about what happened to the Morlocks."

She hesitated for a moment. She didn't know that Xavier had a daughter. Though to be fair, she also hadn't known he had a son until she met Casper. "If you mean Casper, he left with the detective... As for the Morlocks, we handled the issue - it was Sebastian Shaw and Mister Sinister behind it. Sinister is in the Savage Land. Shaw's trail has gone cold."

"I was not referring to Casper. I was referring to my eldest son David. Though it is somewhat comforting to hear that Casper is with his half brother right now. As Jacques tends to keep him out of trouble... As for Sinister, I know about what all happened, at least in part if you wouldn't mind elaborating a bit so I can hear it from you Veil."

Veil nodded, taking a brief pause. "Glimpse came to us with information about Sebastian Shaw. I took a team to investigate and while we were gone, Hounds attacked our headquarters. Negasonic provided us a lead to a local bar and we went there next to investigate, finding Sinister's secret lair. We barely escaped with our lives on our first scouting mission. The return trip was far more successful... I don't know how yet, but Emma Frost seems to be involved. She took two new mutants named Leighton and Max."

Medical (Room 10, Second Floor) - Mutant Underground Hideout...

"It's the food of the gods," Sunshine agreed, talking with her mouth full. The sweet garlicky crust was a symphony in her mouth, accompanied with the rich marinara sauce and the thick, oozy, creamy cheese. She was absolutely in heaven. In that moment, she could have died happy. She swallowed and forced another gigantic bite into her mouth, living entirely in this moment. She finished her slices and quickly grabbed another pair, making a sandwich out of them just the same. That was one issue with kids who grew up on the street - they often couldn't stop themselves when food was available, as they never knew when their next chance to eat would be.

"Glimpse was in the dining room last I saw her," Negasonic told James, playing on her phone again. For once, there wasn't a mean comment or sullen silence that accompanied the information.

"Hey there little brother. It's been a while. Hope you haven't been causing trouble or something," Cyclops said from the doorway of the room, looking over at Havok. His facial expression was difficult to read, largely due to the ruby red shades that covered his eyes. They were the only things preventing Cyclops' laser beams from destroying everything in the room, however.

Havok glanced over at his brother, more than a little bit surprised - and slightly annoyed, since it meant that he would have to tell Cyclops about Vulcan. He wasn't too sure how his big brother would react. "We're the same height, Scott," Havok pointed out. "I'm not your little brother." He then walked forward and brought Cyclops in for a bro hug, clapping him on the back.

"You will always be my little brother Alex whether you like it or not. What happened to you? Looks like your shirt has been put through a paper shredder or something at this rate."

"Sapphire did it," Sunshine interrupted, speaking with her mouth filled with gooey pizza. She vaguely recognized Cyclops. He was the leader of the X-Men - or at least, he used to be. She wasn't really certain why he was here, since it was an odd time for him to show up to check in on his little brother. Was that what blood family was supposed to do for each other? Check in?

"It wasn't Sapphire's fault," Havok sighed. "It was Sinister... Listen, have you heard anything from Lorna? She went off the grid. I'm worried about her."

"Well that explains it I guess... And no I haven't heard anything about her Alex, sorry."

⚡John Watts⚡ and 🏹 Arthur Twist 🏹

Location: Smallville?
Skills: Superspeed, Mechanical Engineering, Archery
"No, since you're too young and don't remember most of your subpar engineering education," Watts scolded Andrew. "University students die when they are unsupervised in engineering labs every year. I'm not about to see what happens when you allow a child to do the same - prodigy or not." His eyes were narrowed not with anger, but with concern. He had heard horror stories from his years working in industry of the sort of accidents that befell those who weren't careful enough. Andrew was his... friend... at the end of the day. And with his mind having regressed to that of a child, he felt responsible for his wellbeing. Andrew's parents were hardly here to supervise him after all.

He gasped in pain as an ice dagger was embedded in his leg, courtesy of Sapphire. He shut his eyes for a moment, trying to contain all of his rage and anger. It was a BEEPing insult in his opinion that Sapphire had called him an idiot, only to then carelessly hurt him with her powers. But his parental instincts kicked in, not because Longshot was alive while the robot had been destroyed, but since he saw Andrew's suit sparking. Watts rushed off at superspeed, fixing Andrew's suit - yet not without zapping him with electricity a few times. However, Andrew's suit hadn't blown up or turned Andrew into something the size of an ant, so it was overall a success. "Are you alright?"

Arthur's luck hadn't been completely horrible - Longshot had failed to injure him, while the others hadn't been so fortunate. Elara had taken care of the robot, leaving just the terrible person that Spiral wanted them to save behind. His powers were frustrating. They were going to make everything they did harder. But they couldn't be too strong, since otherwise Mojo never would have been able to catch Longshot in the first place. His luck had to be finite.

He decided to go with explosive arrows. He didn't want to kill Longshot, just hopefully knock him unconscious (or worse, he supposed). He let an arrow fly, hitting Longshot and slamming him backwards. He let another one go, this time the arrow ended up going wide inexplicably. And for the last arrow he sent off, the arrow hit the ground incredibly close to Arthur and the explosion knocked the archer back. "BEEP..." he muttered under his breath.

Guin Stark

Location: Galactus' Ship - Central Room
Skills: Telepathy, Mind Switch
Guin hadn't been entirely certain what the point was of having Bethany shadow travel across the room to go on ahead - it wasn't like the Silver Surfer couldn't see the gaggle of X-Men at the open door. It had evidently been futile too, as Bethany was thrown back through the door and ended up in the hallway with the rest of them. The Silver Geriatric himself was in front of them, floating on what looked like a Club Penguin unlockable surfboard. "It wouldn't be an X-Men mission if we didn't settle things with fists instead of words," Guin quipped.

From what Warlock had said, all they needed to do was give a convincing try - enough so that way if Galactus questioned the Surfer about how the device was stolen, the Prince of Chrome could save face in front of his boss. Here goes nothing, she whispered to Pietro, before making her first move in this match. She darted forward and put a hand on the Surfer, trying to switch bodies with him. It didn't work - his mind was incredibly powerful - and she was admittedly rusty. She didn't use this power as often as she should have. As much as she kept on pushing and pushing, pulling off the switch continued to elude her. She was about to give up when Guin gave it one last try - one last shot to try to make something useful out of her mutant powers.

For a split second, she was in control of the Silver Surfer's body. Her brain felt like it was on fire - like she was melting. The rush of power that he controlled was exhilarating. "You know not what you are dealing with," the Silver Surfer whispered in her mind, before another split second passed and she was thrown back into her own body. She let out a scream of pain, stumbling backwards as she opened up her face shield and put her hands on her head. She'd never felt pain quite like this before.

"Guina? What's wrong are you okay?" Pietro asked her instantly, it was clear from his tone of voice that he was worried and panicking from that scream of hers.

"I'm... fine..." she groaned, feeling like someone had just tossed a Molotov cocktail into her mind. "Just give me a breather...Maybe some ice for my brain..." she wheezed.

"...What happened?"

"Surfer," Guin managed to stay. She was still holding her head with her hands, trying to make the pounding stop and the heat die down.

Neil Spellman

Location: Galactus' Ship - Flora Colossi Room
Skills: Telekinesis
"...The boss is the big bad of the video game - or at least, that level," Neil explained to Iris, a little bit dumbfounded. It then dawned on him that she probably didn't understand what big bad meant either. "The big bad is the villain - usually the main one, the minions of the big bad don't count." He really hoped that she knew what a minion was and he certainly didn't mean the weird little yellow cartoon men that grandmas on Facebook adored. The ents seemed to be annoyed with Iris as well, something that Neil had no trouble relating to. She was nice and all, but also really seemed to lean into the entire pothead stoner aesthetic.

Otherwise known as the bard aesthetic, he supposed.

As soon as the door opened, Neil ducked down to the side just as Mira instructed. An idea then wormed its way into his brain. He usually used his telekinesis to destroy things, but he could use it to bring objects to him just as well. From his crouched position, he could see the device behind a security system of sorts in the middle of the room. The Silver Surfer was distracted by the others in the room already (namely Quicksilver, Guin, Allison, Marygold, and Bethany) so he figured that it was now or never - he had to take a leap of faith, take his shot.

Neil began to gently tug on the device with his mutant powers, triggering a very loud alarm. A case enclosed the device. The Silver Surfer noticed all of them now. His heart sank. That wasn't at all how he was hoping for things to go.

🗡️ Megan Pendragon 🗡️

Location: Oak Park
Skills: N/A

"I know that it does," Megan agreed. "But we need to take this step by step - once we've eliminated what is impossible, then whatever remains must be the truth. I saw what looked like magic with my own eyes. I don't know how to scientifically explain what the wizard did. He didn't just throw fire, he managed to teleport, to vanish into thin air," Megan reasoned. The fire she could have explained away - it was the vanishing act that confounded her. She couldn't think of a way for Merlin to fool their senses like that in the park. How could he have made those cards appear in their hands? Maybe he had been a light projection of some sort, yet he physically interacted with his environment. It didn't make sense.

The address on the card Merlin had given her indicated an old warehouse on the other end of town. With the traffic due to the police cars and whatnot, it would take them a little while to get there. "I think we ought to take a leap of faith - the wizard gave me an address. We can go there and see what we can sort out of this mess." She paused for a moment, before turning her car on and pulling out of the parking spot and into the road. "If you don't want to, I can drop you off at the station - but I need to go and see if this is real... The wizard says he knew our families... Where we came from..."

🌈 Leda Storm 🌈 and ✨ Rebecca Eventide ✨

Location: Camp Half-Blood - Ship
Skills: N/A

Rebecca laughed lightly, amused at Demetri's alarm. She wouldn't dare hurt a black cat. Of course, she supposed that some of her siblings did tend to be hostile to demigods, so she could understand his wariness towards her. She didn't classify herself as a white witch, yet she did believe in helping the forces of good rather than those of damnation. "There's no need for alarm - I'm not about to skin you," Rebecca teased. "I don't believe there's a single spell in my grimoire that requires the pelt of a changeling demigod."

Leda huffed slightly at Mary's comments. She hadn't even gotten started yet on the fact that the little kids had been approved to go on this mission where they were almost guaranteed to have at least one of them die. "Fine, Mary," Leda relented. "I hope you're able to grow some Mary Jane with your powers, it'd make this trip a lot more pleasant." Her mother was the rainbow goddess and some of those stereotypes were definitely true for Leda. She didn't use recreationally too much, but she had enjoyed the experience the few times she had. All of the colors in the world were a lot more vivid.

The amount of weapons they had on the ship was certainly formidable, though it was to be expected. This was a war ship - anything less would have just been inappropriate. Rebecca looked around with curiosity and interest, especially as they went down below deck and saw the cabins. Everyone would have their own room. She very much appreciated that, as it would give her the space to study and hone her craft - as well as to brew potions without others complaining about the thick scent that would engulf the room. The armory was well supplied and the cargo hold was gigantic. "This is divine, Alannah - truly."

Leda crossed her arms at the end of the tour. The ship was pretty amazing, she had to admit. And she liked that she'd have a room to herself, giving her some room to breathe and think. She had to wonder though how many of the others on the ship would even be ready when it came to using the weapons to defend the ship - or even their own powers. "Is there anything else we ought to know about this place?" she asked.

The Kingdom of Attilan - the Moon: February 14th, 2021 - 11:00 A.M.

Bonnie Chase and Raynor Blake

Location: the Palace -> the Quinjet / Earth
Skills: Jack of All Trades (Medicine), Enhanced Physiology

"I am not asking you to vanquish the Black Order - I am simply naming the price for me to remove the Terrigen Mists from your planet," Medusa corrected them harshly. She gave no indication as to how she was able to accomplish that - would it mean destruction of her people's sacred mists? Crystal was glaring at the entire group, clearly irked that they were accepting the help of humans against the Black Order. She pitied Tinley above all - an inhuman, stuck leading a group of flatscans, doomed to failure.

"If you survive, you'd be welcome on Attilan - you'd be home," Crystal told Tinley. "The same goes for the other inhumans. You have family here."

Bonnie's heart stopped for a moment, as Maria led Cass on over to her, her visor plainly showing some of the blood Cass had coughed up. That wasn't good. From the limited information they had on M-Pox, Cass had five days left at most - and that was assuming that Cass instantly went into a medically induced coma, rested, and was watched round the clock by doctors. If she continued to work, to fight this threat... Bonnie estimated that she would only have eighteen hours left. "Cass, you need to stop - we need to get you back to Earth ASAP," Bonnie stressed.

She bit her lip, hearing Sparky's offer to take Cass back to the quinjet. Resting there would be better than nothing, but she was scared for her best friend's life. If they had been on Earth, she would have ordered an emergency med-evac to the nearest hospital. Would the immense force of reentry cause Cass' condition to worsen? She couldn't help but wish they had a teleporter on the team. They couldn't afford to separate Cass from Tempest, as Tempest might be able to bring her back from the brink if reentry really was an issue. "I need to get her to a hospital, now - Tempest, you'll need to accompany her." Or she won't make it.

The queen stared at them for a moment. "As a gesture of good will... Lockjaw, please."

The inhuman dog then padded on over to Cass and Bonnie, Crystal at his side. Crystal glanced back at her sister, before she sighed. "Lockjaw, take us to New York City," she requested. She had spent some time on Earth a few years back, gotten involved with a member of the Brotherhood of Mutants. One thing he had told her stood out - everything a person could need was in New York. There was a blue flash of light and suddenly, Cass, Bonnie, Crystal, and Lockjaw were gone.

"Where the hell did they go?!" Raynor snapped. He didn't trust the inhumans one bit. And sure, he didn't like Bonnie much at all, but Cass was a friend. With the way the inhumans were talking about humans and mutants, he wouldn't have been surprised if Lockjaw and Crystal had taken their teammates to the cold vacuum of space to abandon them.

"Lockjaw and Crystal are accompanying the healer and your friend to one of Earth's places of healing," Medusa answered calmly. "Now, the Inhuman Codex indicates that Thane was born in a place called Cardiff... It is likely that the Black Order will assemble there to kill him. I must take my leave. I have my people to bury," Medusa finished, a tear falling down her face.

The Asgardian clenched his fist. He hated all of this. He didn't like the lack of power they had in this situation. But there wasn't much they could do. S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists were working round the clock in an attempt to cure M-Pox and to find a way to get rid of the Terrigen Mists. The only option left for the Secret Warriors squad was to head to Britain and fight the Black Order, to protect the son of the Mad Titan. It wasn't at all how he had imagined his Valentine's Day to go. Too much space, not enough roses and champagne. "Let's go then," he grumbled.

He then started heading back to the quinjet.
Kirby General Hospital - NYC: February 14th, 2021 - 11:00 A.M.

"Jesus..." Bonnie said, completely astonished. One minute ago, she had been on the Moon. And now, she was in an operating room in Kirby General Hospital. The room was empty, aside from Cass, the inhuman princess, and Lockjaw. To say it was disorienting was an understatement. She couldn't remove the suit that Cass was inside of, as doing so would expose her to the Terrigen Mists and potentially make her disease worse.

"Here you are, a healing room," Crystal said plainly. "Lockjaw, let's leave."

"Wait!" Bonnie called out, but Lockjaw and Crystal vanished in a blue flash of light. She needed a medical team here. She was out of her depth. Her mind was so frazzled that she couldn't even think of who to summon, but luckily, fate was on her side.

The door to the operating room opened, revealing Doctor Strange, Master of the Mystic Arts. "Ah, my eleven o'clock. Right on schedule," he greeted with a smirk. "Now, don't be surprised, Dr. Chase. I make it my business to monitor threats to Earth, including unexpected teleportation from the Moon."

"It's M-Pox. Can you help her?" Bonnie asked desperately.

"Not in here, this room isn't sterile - but in another dimension, it is," Strange announced cryptically. "Agent Reed, do I have your permission to bring you to the mirror dimension?"

The aurors were moving as quickly and methodically as they could, attempting to secure the train without causing too much of a delay to the students. Some of the students in the compartments were understandably terrified at the prospect of Death Eaters on the train - some of them were muggleborn, after all. "It's going to be alright, dears," Bonnie reassured those in compartment 25, her voice soft and soothing. "We're here to help."

Burke was handling compartment 24, misting the air to reveal no Death Eaters lurking in the eerie green light. The compartment was filled with a group of Slytherin seventh year students, some of them commenting that if any mudbloods got killed, they deserved it. "Enough of that - talk like that is disgraceful," Burke scolded them. "Another word and I'll inform Professor Snape personally of your racist attitudes."

Frederick handled compartment 23.

St. Willfold was not entirely happy that Bonnie and Burke had taken the lead on this operation, as they were the women of the group. He didn't care for Burke in particular, usually keeping a cautious eye on her. St. Willfold ended up sorting compartment 22, filled with some Hufflepuff second and third years, all of them staring at the old man with wide, scared eyes.

McFenwick was rather headstrong in his inspection of compartment 21, yet he still felt for the children. "Nothing to worry about, just a routine check," he reassured the students. Once satisfied that no Death Eaters were disguised within the compartment, he returned to the corridor and spotted Georgina at the front of the train. "Georgie?" he called out, before walking down to compartment 3.

Compartment 1 -

Penny nodded quickly, relaxing slightly as Madalyne mentioned she had seen people playing Exploding Snap. "Yes, thank goodness - did you see a little blonde haired girl? And another one with white hair? That's her best friend, Chiara... I really ought to go check on them once this is over. Chiara's painfully shy."

Talbott let out an irritated sigh. "If it were detecting Merula, then why would this thing only be going mad now?"

"Bah, I wouldn't get freaked over that," the Head Boy scoffed. "Those things go mental all the time. Someone farts and lies, saying it was their friend? Thing goes bonkers. They're just too sensitive to be of much use, Talbott."

"And the aurors will take care of it," Penny said, trying to reassure herself more than Talbott and the others. "I don't know why a Death Eater would want to hide on the train anyways... Hogwarts is the safest place in the world."

Compartment 15 -

"Yeah, we can protect you!" Barnaby added, grinning a bit at the first years. Beatrice seemed to warm up to Elizabeth, giving her a smile - while her white haired friend continued to hang back shyly. She even moved back slightly as Elizabeth got close to Beatrice, as if to distance herself from human contact.

"She said you've gotten detention more than anyone else at school," Beatrice admitted, looking at Fae. Penny was the most popular witch in the fifth year - she knew more or less all of the gossip at Hogwarts, as well as everything there was to know about everyone who attended.

The white haired girl's face paled when Fae mentioned anything dangerous being on the train, as if she were hiding something.

"...So how does the sorting work?" Beatrice then asked. "Penny hasn't told me, said it'd spoil the surprise..."

Paige Atwell

Location: Corridor -> Compartment 15
Magic: Charms

Paige had to force herself up against the wall and hold her breath, as one of the aurors inexplicably hurried down to the front of the train. He didn't seem to notice her sneakoscope's whistle, which was fantastic luck - she was doing her best to smother it with her clothing as he went on by. The other aurors weren't that far away from them, she even spotted who she thought was Zelda's father going into one of the compartments to check.

Her disillusionment charm was rapidly wearing off - she could see her hand plainly, it wasn't blending into the wall anymore. Her instinct was to go back to her compartment, wait for the group of aurors to pass, and continue her investigation - but all of the sudden, she noticed Barnaby Lee out of the corner of her eye in compartment 15. She internally swooned. She fancied him.

And a moment later, her charm had worn off entirely. She was visible. Acting on pure impulse, she slipped into compartment 15, seamlessly taking a seat down next to Barnaby, who greeted her with a grin.

"Paige!" he pulled her into a hug. "Where'd you come from?"

"Oh, uh, y'know..." she said, shrugging it off but her cheeks were bright red.

"Is that your sneakoscope?" Barnaby asked.

"...Yeah, I was about to go try to find the dark wizard myself, but the aurors were moving quickly and my spell wore off so... Gonna crash in here for a second before I motor, if that's cool?"

Washington D.C.: September 10th, 2020 - 3:00 PM

The Morlock Tunnels...

Polaris took a deep breath, slowly relaxing the muscles in her hands. She forced herself to imagine a peaceful island, the waves coming in and gently washing over the warm sand as her boyfriend, Havok, walked over to her in the nude with a gigantic smirk on his face. "Sorry," she forced herself to say, having gone through the sewer grate opening with the others. "I have bipolar disorder," she explained. She made herself take another breath, trying to force her mood to stabilize.

"Oh you've got to be fucking kidding me?!" she then snapped aggressively, seeing the hilarious display of Max's abilities. "How the hell do you go from lights to snow globes? And why is Marvel Girl a freaking elf in this? Wolverine's the short one!" The metal blades she kept on her started to shake and rattle, an audible reminder to Polaris that she needed to calm down - that she couldn't let the mania control her.

"...I meant to say that... I'm sure your... thing... is good," she grumbled. She looked at the little map that Sage had programmed for her. "Come on, it's not too far, but we'll want to hurry." She then started making her way down the tunnels, heading towards the grating that would let them out at the waterfront

The Luxury - the Washington D.C. Waterfront...

Esme shook her head at Jinx, not amused with his implication that their mother (genetic template, really) gave him a sexually transmitted disease. "I'm not sure you're man enough for the Lord Imperial anyways."

"But kudos to you for even knowing what Chlamydia is," Sophie and Phoebe taunted in unison, snickering. Esme slowly brought the submarine up to the surface, opening the hatch so that way everyone could disembark and board the Luxury.

"Wanda, if you wouldn't mind sinking the submarine once we're on Shaw's yacht?" Esme requested.

"Fine, I can do that," she grumbled, more then a little bit annoyed still with how the conversation seemed to be going, and the fact that people kept mentioning that Polaris was the White Rook as opposed to her.

The triplets made their way out off of the submarine and gracefully onto Sebastian Shaw's yacht. It was unmanned at the moment, meaning that they would have no issue simply waiting here until the rendez-vous with the extraction team. Of course, the Three in One imagined that there wasn't really much need for them, thanks to Jinx's work taking care of the rogue submarines. "Champagne, Wanda? Sebastian kept his yacht well stocked," Sophie offered.

"Or perhaps you'd rather a martini?" Phoebe suggested.

Wanda didn't respond immediately after getting off the sub, instead using her powers to easily sink the submarine. "I don't feel like anything," she said, shaking her head at the three of them, more or less wanting to ignore their existence, she was contemplating leaving before Lorna showed up.

"Very well, I suppose that's for the best - Lorna may want something to drink after all," Sophie smirked cruelly.

The Dining Room - Mutant Underground Hideout...

"You're right," Blink told Spark Plug with a smile. "Thank you... It was Spark Plug, right?" she asked, wanting to confirm. Everything had gone by so quickly. It hadn't been that long ago that Blink and the Morlocks were living peacefully beneath the city. She couldn't help but see the faces of the Morlocks in the victims that Spark Plug administered medicine to. It seemed to help them all almost instantly, allowing their movements to become slow and peaceful.

Magik had entered the room as well, pulling Colossus aside. They were speaking to each other in Russian quietly, before the siblings finally embraced each other.

Nightcrawler was silent at first, his heart heavy. He didn't want to tell Glimpse what it had been like for him - it was an ungodly experience. "Fraulein... I do not want to talk about what it was like," he told her softly. "I am so sorry for what I did to you... It was unspeakable... an affront to god..." his words drifted off as Cayden came into the room with the pizzas.

"I can make my way to my home. I just need rest," he then said.

"Is that... pizza?" Magik then asked Cayden, raising an eyebrow. "Give it here or I'll send you to hell."

"Illyana, that is not way of X-Men," Colossus scolded. "No threats."

Medical (Room 10, Second Floor) - Mutant Underground Hideout...

"Wait, Professor X is coming here?" Havok asked. He couldn't help but be astonished. In all of his time with the Mutant Underground, Xavier had never visited the Washington D.C. operation. He communicated to Veil maybe once a month at the very most. "Huh. I guess we now know the bare minimum it takes him to get his wheelchair bound ass down here - Mister Sinister and Shaw have to turn mutants in rapid zombie soldiers."

"Are you really that surprised?" Negasonic asked dryly. "X doesn't leave his little paradise garden."

"...Wonder if my niece is coming," Havok commented absentmindedly. He considered Sara Grey, his sister in law's niece, to be his niece as well - technicalities be damned.

Sunshine shrugged her shoulders at James. Her life had never really been easy and it rarely ever made much sense. She had been kicked out of her home when she was just six years old, since her mother believed that mutants were the children of Satan. She had found a family on the streets of New York, only for aliens to invade and force them to flee from the city. They had barely made it to Washington D.C. And just when things had calmed down, just when they were all living in a crummy studio apartment, Purifiers showed up and burned the place to the ground. Sunshine and her family were blamed for the crime. She was lucky, only going to juvi - the others went to a Mutant Super-Max.

The destruction of the Morlocks was another tragedy in her life. Erg was another father figure ripped away from her. "I have a bed here - and food to eat - and that's more than I normally do," she answered him. "I want the assholes who hurt Erg to suffer... And I think I helped to make that happen today. So that's nice and all... The last time I had a bed was in juvi, I think."

Her stomach then growled ferociously as Waverley entered the room with the pizzas. "Fuck yeah, pizza!" Sunshine cheered, grabbing two slices and folding them together like a sandwich, before shoving the food in her mouth.

"It's cool, not everyone is cut out for superheroics."

"Yeah, you're a shining example of that Havok!"

The Entranceway - Mutant Underground Hideout...

"I see you all have had a rough time," a voice called from the entrance way and Professor Charles Xavier rolled into the room, except he wasn't alone, as right behind him was Havok's older brother Scott, better known as Cyclops. Cyclops had been the leader of the X-Men for several years, being quite possibly one of the most famous members - even though these days, he pursued domestic bliss with his wife, Jean Grey.

"Anyone know where my little brother has run off to?" Cyclops asked, before looking over at Veil. "Hey there Veil, it has been a while."

Veil forced a smile onto her face. It was a little weird seeing Xavier outside of the X-Mansion. His wheelchair conveniently hovered a few inches off of the ground, as if the dirty floors of the hideout were figuratively and literally beneath him. Cyclops was even weirder to see - he had taught her during her time at the school, even trained her. It was like seeing her high school teacher show up at her place of business. "Professor, Scott," Veil said, nodding politely. "I think Havok is upstairs... How about we move into the dining room?" she then suggested.

Pietro glanced over at Xavier and Cyclops, he made a bit of a face seeing Cyclops, and didn't talk to him at all. "Hey there Professor! Since my work here seems to be done, I'm heading off, see ya some other time," he said with a slight wave towards the group before there was a gust of wind and in a blur of silver he raced off.

"If you wish that Veil, I agree, it likely is not best to talk in the entrance area..." Xavier said, nodding his head towards her, before heading towards the dining room.

"Alright, I'm going to head that way and let you two talk a little bit," Scott responded, before he headed off, heading towards the stairway. to go upstairs.

Aboveground - Mutant Underground Hideout...

Casper was pacing back and forth, trying to process the information that Jack had given him. To make matters worse, he could plainly see the Blackbird nearby. His father was here - and by some stroke of fortune, Professor X hadn't seen the two boys as he went into the hideout. He started tugging at the ends of his hair, wanting desperately a hit of something, anything right then. Casper loved his siblings - and David was hardly all there. He made Casper look perfectly sane.

"Oh we are so fucking screwed Jackie," Casper moaned. "If Dave is missing, bad things are going to happen. You were too little to remember this I think, but once he turned our nanny into a plate of pancakes! And ate her! If he was just a normal crazy person that would be one thing, but he's an omega level mutant.... at freaking power manifestation! We're all going to die. Our sibling is going to cause the apocalypse again."

"That's probably why your dad is here with his plane actually..." Ben pondered. "The Underground is his top info source in the DC area. Someone here might know something."

"Shush, Ben, stop trying to be helpful!"

⚡John Watts⚡ and 🏹 Arthur Twist 🏹

Location: Smallville?
Skills: Superhuman Speed, Speed Strike, Archery
"Oh BEEP off, Sapphire!" Watts snapped back at her. He didn't care if she found it hilarious that he kept on being censored each time he tried to swear. He wanted to curse, so that was exactly what he was going to do. The only people he avoided swearing in front of were his kids at the end of the day. If they were going to laugh at him, that was going to be their funeral. He was behind the sentinel, but that didn't stop it from firing off a laser blast at him, narrowly missing him. Everyone seemed to get knocked down by the blasts, even Arthur falling to the ground. Watts had to wonder if Mojo would really care if they died or not here.

Watts rushed backwards at top speed, before he turned around and ran as fast as he could at the sentinel, building up momentum. At the last moment he swung his fist back and punched the robot, able to deal a significant amount of damage to it. His fist stung from the impact, but he was largely protected by his suit - since otherwise, that amount of force would have shattered his hand. He figured that the others were having hilariously bad flukes when it came to hitting this sentinel due to their own poor fighting skills - it certainly wasn't a luck issue or anything! "See, now that is how you punch," he announced smugly.

"Is he always this insufferable?" Arthur muttered to no one in particular. He didn't want to become chummy with these people, yet he couldn't help but be irritated by the miniature speedster. He was vain, egotistical, selfish, and haughty. He wanted to shove arrows in his ears if he had to listen to Watts for another second. He fired off an EMP arrow at the sentinel, convinced that his aim was perfect. Somehow, the arrow abruptly turned down and went straight for the robot's foot, barely activating in time. The sentinel only sparked slightly, rather than being entirely shut down as he had hoped for.

He didn't let that phase him - he had seen weirder things before. He let another EMP arrow fly, this time it once again suddenly took a sharp turn downwards, hitting the torso of the sentinel. The robot was continuing to spark and seemingly short circuit, but not enough to deactivate it or destroy it yet. Third time was a charm - or so he thought. The third arrow connected perfectly with the sentinel's arm, but the EMP didn't activate properly. It was a string of rotten, odd luck.

Guin Stark

Location: Galactus' Ship (Team 1)
Skills: Telepathy, Electronics and Computers
"Or maybe you need psychic contacts?" Guin asked Allison. It definitely seemed that the Silver Surfer was some all powerful being that they had no chance of defeating - so it wasn't that surprising to hear that he could block out Allison's visions, yet it was still a huge blow to moral. Allison's visions allowed them to more or less preview what was going to happen. She liked having that advantage. Guin grimaced, wondering which one of them was going to be hit with a blast. She was pretty sure she'd be the one that the Surfer would react negatively to - Allison was too sweet, Bethany was quiet and moody, Pietro was... Pietro, and Mary tended to be quiet lately too.

Whereas Guin on the other hand was a Stark - mouthy snark and sarcasm was in her DNA. I'm definitely going to be the one the Surfer attacked in Allison's vision. Yay me.

No you won't be!

Have you met me? I'm definitely going to rub the Chrome Dome the wrong way, Guin pointed out to her fiancé. She hesitated for a moment, not wanting to go through the door and enter the computer room Warlock described. She was alive at the moment - in danger, but alive. She couldn't help but have a bad feeling about them all going off to face the Surfer. Against someone that powerful, she wondered if they'd all make it out in one piece. "We should try to free those imprisoned here - it's the right thing to do," Guin said, stalling slightly. "Maybe after we get the device, I can hack into the systems here, release them all."

I'd stop you from getting hurt.

She gave Pietro a smile. I know. She then pushed on the door, only to find it was locked. She couldn't help but be slightly relieved, it bought them a little more time. It didn't buy them too much time though, as it was relatively easy for Guin to reprogram the electronic lock and open the door.

Neil Spellman

Location: Galactus' Ship (Team 3)
Skills: N/A
Neil had already taken a tentative sip of the water, causing him to be a bit flustered and confused as the ent insisted that he drink more of it. He didn't feel like he had been poisoned or anything of the sort, so he supposed that it was alright. "Okay, okay..." he then drank the rest of the water in his bowl. It tasted weird - and reminded him of something his aunties might have made to drink during the Hare Moon. The strange taste wasn't bad however, just unique. And he did feel a little better, as if he had just received a health pack in a video game.

His face then paled.

They had fought their way down here and now, all of the sudden, they were being given a chance to heal and rest. He had played enough games to know what was coming next. "Guys... I think whatever's through that door, it's gonna be a boss fight." If they had any real life equivalent of a save point, Neil was pretty sure that would have happened too. But since this was real life, if they died in the upcoming boss fight, then that was it. They were dead. They couldn't just walk that off to come back from it. "We're in a room of nice ents after being attacked by a killer gorilla of all things - and we're being offered healing items... That's video game 101 for a boss is next."
