My main question about weapon tech has already been answered - I was actually almost looking forward to figuring out a more primitive but interesting combination weapon. Good to know there is more flexibility there, though.
This brings up the matter of character age: The Academies start training at age 17 and go for four years, so none of our characters would theoretically be older than 21, right?
So, what about names? The Great War was fought over the right to self-expression, but if the characters are children of the rising generation, they would have already had their names given to them prior to the color naming convention that pervaded the world. I'm fine either way, I think the color naming convention is one of the distinctive setting points of RWBY - just curious how we should approach that for this, given the approximate timing.
One idea I've had already has been some type of bard or musician type of character who uses a "lute-saber." I'm not entirely sure how serious I am about this idea, just kind of tossing it out there to see what people think.

I am definitely liking what I am seeing so far, you can certainly count me interested, sure as sure! Only question I have in mind that hasn't been covered yet is, with the small group size and that the call was sent to each Academy, their would only be one or two hunter/huntress in training from each newly built Academy?
I also reckon weapon tech for hunters/huntresses is nowhere near as advanced as they appear in the actual show, correct? Certainly got some ideas in mind in that regard, either way.
@NuttsnBoltsQuestion: Would a Faunus character be valid given the fact that war if Faunus civil rughts hasn't happen yet, meaning that Faunus are second class citizens at best and slaves at worst, if i have my time frames correct
Color me interested!
Would it be all right to ask questions at this time about character building, or would it be better to wait until the RP post itself is made and to have that discussion in the OOC?
I've been looking for a RWBY RP with an interesting spin on it: I'm 100% on board.
For clarification, though: we're not playing the no doubt skilled, experienced and dependably veterans of the Great War, but new recruits that are yet to complete training, on this mission to save artifacts which could ruin the world. Correct?
