Hello out there! My name's Mason. I like a lot of random stuff like comics, Masters of the Universe, M*A*S*H, X-Files, conspiracy theories, as well as a good superhero themed role play! I'm more of a DC freak than a Marvel zombie but I did grow up on mutants and 3rd string heroes. Once in awhile I'll make a few micros in MSPaint for my RP's because I love designing heroes as much as I do writing/reading about them. I'm about to try and get another random themed game off the ground, if you're interested gimme a shout!
My top RP's on the Guild:
Young Justice 2020 Justice League Unlimited Titans of Gotham Champions of Engine City Marvel Reborn Legion of Superheroes Return [stat based]
Top Characters:
Ditto - Young Justice series Bulleteer - Justice League Unlimited Leviathan - Titans of Gotham Fastlane - Champions of Engine City the Thing II - Marvel Reborn Ultra Boy II - Legion of Superheroes Return
I've been RP'ing for awhile. I mostly RP to keep my writing skills up to par, and I generally RP between Casual and Advanced. I've been a member of the guild for quite a bit, pre Guildfall even. Ninety percent of the time you'll find me in some superhero themed RP or something based off of another fandom like MotU or Power Rangers. Currently in the process of developing my own comics!
Favorite DC heroes (I won't go into villains to save space) in no order: Aquaman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), Superboy (the clone), Swamp Thing, Starman, Animal Man, the Ray (90's era), Impulse, Captain Atom, and Batman Beyond.
Favorite Marvel heroes list: Human Torch I & II, Capt. Mar-Vell, Black Bolt, the classic Destroyer, Havok, Multiple Man, classic Scarlet Spider, Spiderman 2099, Nova, and Colossus.
OTHER FAVORITES: Space Ghost, the Rocketeer, the Maxx, Shadowhawk, Green Hornet, Madman, Doctor Star/Andromeda, the Phantom, He-Man, and Zorro.
@The Kid Lantern Compared to how badly written, directed and paced it is, that's one of my more minor complaints.
I'm just old enough that I've read so many different people taking his eye it's ridiculous at this point. Green Arrow's status was upped since he took his eye in the comics and on tv more recently...
Skills/Abilities: Military trained in hand to hand, marksmanship, as well as tactical thinking. The only other thing to note would be his custom pistols, which he uses to fire a variety of different types of rounds [explosive rounds, non-lethal rounds, as well as gas and smoke pellets].
Weaknesses: Under his stylish red coat, the Crimson Avenger is just as human as the next vigilante.
History: Travis served in the US Army for a short time, going through basic training and being shipped to Iraq soon after. Shortly after being stationed over seas he was injured and honorably discharged, being sent back to his hometown of Gotham. Over the last four years Travis has worked for his father's newspaper, the Gotham Globe. Originally just another worker in the printing department, after a story he wrote on Batman and his many allies was read and published by his father, Lee was offered a spot in the writing bullpen. He's only been writing for the paper now for about a year or so.
Weeks ago, a woman whom Lee had relations with named Christy Barker was a victim of gang violence. When Lee found her dying in an alley she was clutching the only thing the gang members didn't make off with, a golden lighter that belonged to her father which she gave to Lee. On the lighter there were a few words engraved reading "Qui Vindicet Ibit." It translated to “The Avenger will come." and was the inspiration for Lee donning a mostly red outfit to take down the gang responsible for her murder. In the apparent absence of the Batman, Lee decided Gotham could use every hero at it's disposal and took up the mask once more now wielding a pair of custom pistols a friend in the Army had been working on. Despite already making the headlines in his father's newspaper as "Yet Another Masked Menace" Lee continues to protect the streets of Gotham in any way he can.
His father is very much like J. Jonah Jameson from the Spiderman comics painting anyone in a mask, hero or otherwise, as a menace. Lee himself has been working to gain information on the Jokerz gang currently causing chaos in the streets.

The titans are based on the original team from the silver and bronze age, which is pretty nostalgic for me minus the exclusion of wally. Again i think they're testing the waters since fans don't buy as much and 2nd and 3rd string characters always seem to get canceled. I highly doubt Tim would survive this modern era of comics canceling
The 2nd and 3rd stringers do get cancelled, but so do books that SHOULD last like Robin: Son of Batman. With the adult Titans books DC started trying to *fix* their continuity by saying a villain stopped the original Titans from forming altering history as it should have been. Tim had quite a successful title in Red Robin and it lasted thirty issues or so leading up to the New52 relaunch, where the character was turned into shit and was the first to have a retconned story that was retconned yet again claiming he was never just called Robin as the New52 Teen Titans #1 suggested.
Lately DC has been pretty antsy to just cancel a book or hire less than stellar creators on titles they don't put much faith in. Just as an example, Rob Liefeld is the reason Hawk and Dove was cancelled once he took over the writing on top of art duties during the begiining of the New52. DC's response to this clusterfuck of a creator? They gave him writing duties on Grifter, Hawkman, and writing/art on Deathstroke. He basically got one title canned then was given three others to basically do the same with. Grifter started getting good again when he was off the book but got cancelled before it ever had a chance to get an upswing. Hawkman fell victim, and Deathstroke was canceled but given new life later on with top notch creators.
DC's main problem is they hire people who don't have any passion for the characters they're working on. The good creators, who usually DO work on a 2nd or 3rd string heroes or titles first, once their potential is in print... they get shipped to Superman and Batman books. Jimmy Palmiotti did wonders with the Freedom Fighters in a couple different mini series as well as the monthly, and solo minis for newer spins on the characters. He was later put on a higher profile book, Power Girl, and now he's on Harley Quinn. No reason was given as to why DC decided to stop publishing stories featuring Freedom Fighters characters like the Ray, Human Bomb, and Black Condor...
EDIT: A story was actually planned to crossover Grifter and Hawkman with one of the Superman titles that would have the three of them facing an alien enemy. It was shot down once the creative teams on Grifter and Hawkman changed up, probably because they didn't want Liefeld anywhere near Superman. I for one would have LOVED that crossover, as Grifter is one of my all time favorite Wildstorm characters.
The Crimson Avenger? Day-um, you are going super classic old school. Major props, major props.
I'm a bit ticked at DC since Detective Comics is becoming a Batman team-up title with all the heroes of Gotham. No version of Crimson Avenger to be found but they're making Clayface a hero?!? LAME.
I'm a fan of the classics. Around 2000 or so when the JSA made a comeback I became a huge fan of the Golden Age comics era across the board. Not just DC and Marvel but stuff like Bulletman from Fawcett, Peter Cannon/Thunderbolt, and heroes that have fallen into the public domain like Green Giant, and pulp comics heroes like the Phantom, the Shadow, and Green Hornet.
I think I can kill it with 'Crimson, just gotta find the right angle and see what sorts of characters he'll be interacting with so he isn't too similar to anyone else.
I think I've got a character I could put a spin on, especially since Batman isn't in the picture. The original star of Detective Comics, the badass in a fedora... the CRIMSON AVENGER
I'm just confused why Starfire is on the Teen Titans and not the Titans? Does this mean her romance with Dick is out the window?
Yeah I wondered that as well, but she hasn't had the same relationship with Grayson post New52 that she had before. She DID sleep with Roy Harper/Arsenal though in Red Hood and the Outlaws. My best guess is they moved her to Teen Titans to pair her with Raven and Beastboy similar to the classic era, but she's certainly not a teen in this current universe that's picking up where the New52 left off rather than being a complete reboot. Also with the adult Titans title, I think the creators wanted more focus on Donna Troy and their new iteration of Lilith/Omen.
It's just one of about a dozen moves DC is making post Rebirth that I wonder WTF the editorial staff was thinking. Like bringing Ted Kord back in Blue Beetle only to make his a supporting character rather than the star. Jaime has failed twice when given a monthly title, why would the third time be a charm when it's basically more of the same thing just now with a mentor fans would much rather be reading about. I don't think JL 3000/3001 is being renewed, so it gives me high hopes they're planning a new LoSH title...
