@Keyblade87 Alright. Nicely posted. It doesn't contain anything, but considering that I've been hinting that something's coming and that you're WAITING, meaning doing nothing, it's realistic and appropriate. XD

@Rune_Alchemist Teh-heh. How polite of you. I want to pat you on your head to praise for being polite. Haha. In any case. Nicely answered. Nicely posted. That's about that.

@Pink Madness Aww. I kind of almost want to delay my post a little just to let the boys teach you how to play during a few rounds of card-games. But, that would be kind of unfair to the rest. Haha. Any case. Well posted.

@Eklispe Oh, THAT game. I didn't know what game it was, and I didn't check, but explaining the rules make me realize what it was. Haha. Yeah, I kind of want to let you guys do a few rounds just to get into the game so that you could laugh together about it a bit. … Oh, well! Nicely posted, anyway!

You know what? You two and @Pikmin Eye. Can we say that you got to play a little bit? I want you to. Haha. Still. I can't delay this post, so here it comes~

And now.

There appears to be a consensus for bulks. Then here! Here's the first half of the bulk, because you guys NEED to react to the half-point, seriously!

My apologies, Whimsley, I'm stealing your Pokédex text colour. Because, to me, any other colour looks wrong, and as such I have little choice.

Now, don't go scurrying on your way just yet, we're not done in the lab! XD

Feel free to let your Pokémon out of their Pokéballs and interact with them, if you wish. Or not. Whatever you decide.

Special notes for individual people whose Pokédex entries requires me to comment on them.

@Lasrever Although Wooper's Pokédex entry states about poisonous layer of slime around the body when out of water, I am not going to force you to feel a bunch of pain if you touch your Pokémon. Unless, like, you feel like that's totally appropriate. Haha. … Yikes, your “Struggle” will hurt like heck. Not to mention your eventual “Slam”...

@Pink Madness I am going to let you pick how many tails Vulpix currently has. When new-born, it only has one, but through maturity and love from a trainer, it sprouts more. It appears it rather quickly gains six tails, but further than that takes a whole another level of work. It HAS gotten from Lvl 1 to Lvl 5 somehow before meeting you, which could be considered, but still. You may include the number of tails in your post.

@Delta44 Considering Shinx's Pokédex entries, I kind of feel it appropriate to let your Shinx (and all Shinxes) know Flash. I will very rarely let a Pokémon know a move based on their Pokédex entry, but, IT'S PART OF THE POKÉMON'S BLOODY BIOLOGY! ITS NATURAL DEFENSE MECHANISM! IT'S THE BLOODY “FLASH” POKÉMON, FOR LORD'S SAKE! NOT KNOWING FLASH MAKES NO SENSE! XD

@Pikmin Eye I am not going to force you to obey the writing in the Pokédex and have you constantly have to attempt keeping your Nincada out of the sun when fighting and such. Feel free to make use of that otherwise, but I am not going to enforce such inconvenience. Haha.

Oh. And also. Typing Lasrever's message reminded me. A little message to everyone concerning simply ramming enemies.

While you all may be tempted to tell your Pokémon to simply ram the enemy, because why the heck would not all Pokémon know a move that does that? Even if Watson doesn't actually know “Tackle”, he should still be able to run with all his might right into the enemy, right? And I'll tell you. They can do that, it's even a move. It's called “Struggle”, and it hurts your own Pokémon almost as much as the opponent. Pokémon that actually know “Tackle” simply knows a method of doing “Struggle” that doesn't hurt themselves. And Struggle is Normal-type, not type-less, with all the logic that follows. Now, you can always tell your Pokémon to use Struggle, seeing how we don't actually use PP, and all Pokémon know it. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut... Yeah. You're hurting yourselves almost as much as you hurt the enemy. So, yupp.

__

Phew. That was a lot of work. Tell me if I made any mistakes, if I've forgotten something, if you have any questions or if I've written way too much and you need to take a few days break from this roleplay simply to get through that post. Haha.

Of course, if you want to have your character exclaim something in the middle of the post somewhere, we can attempt to accommodate that. Somehow. Haha. That's about it. Gosh.

Edit: Oh, and if a Pokédex Entry states something that you don't agree with about the behavior of your Pokémon, feel free to ignore it. Your Pokémon can be the special snowflake which behaves exactly like you envision the Pokémon to behave! Pokémon are individuals too, after all, with all their unique quirks and traits!

Edit: So, ummm... I did say that part of having casual posts, but, er... W-we'll do those when we've actually embarked on our trips, alright? Feel free to say anything you wish to Kalmia, or anyone else, we'll all handle it. Haha. I apologize if I put anyone off with the amount or what I'm doing or anything like that. Oh, well.

Edit:
The door is suddenly thrust open. The doorway of the extremely silent lab flies open, a figure standing with an arm stretched as she had just forcefully pushed the door open. There may have been some sense of urgency in the move, and an assistant that ran behind quickly moving some last-second preparation that, just as intended, none of you saw what it was.

In the doorway stands... Professor Kalmia, her hair wet from having showered but completely failed to dry it completely and her lab-coat is hanging onto her body with a bunch of wrinkles that make it clear she had no time to iron it. Yet her face is filled with excitement for the event that is coming to pass.

'Good morning, trainers! Nice day for a wait, eh!?' She grinned happily, referencing in all haste that she's acknowledging to be somewhat late.

'For those who don't know me, I am Professor Kalmia! I am a Pokémon Professor of Isson, and me along with you all have been hand-picked through a multitude of different means-' That are more or less just Kalmia picking whoever she felt for as long as they had any reason at all to pick the person in question. '-to complete the Pokédex for the Isson Region, a mission given to us by the legendary Professor Oak himself!' She looked pretty enthusiastic about that fact.

'However, no more waiting! We have Pokémon to capture, awards to win and a Pokémon League to dominate! Now-' Her eyes suddenly fell on the tenth individual who had arrived here. Onto the man with the top-hat. Kalmia suddenly physically flinched backwards like a scared rabbit, turning her body and lifting her arms as if in self-defence.

'J-Jacques!?' She exclaimed in disbelief. The man, who apparently was called Jacques, took his hat off his silver-haired head and gave a little bow.

'Professor Kalmia. It is very nice to see you again. Fu-fu...' He made his odd laugh as he said his greeting in an oddly sinister tone before standing straight again.

'Eh... ah...' Kalmia blinked at him a bit, glanced around at the kids present who wouldn't know who this man was, before taking a deep breath, standing straight calmly and without her usual smile, looking towards him politely.

'It is nice to see you again, too. Say, for what do we owe the honour of an Elite Four to visit us?' Kalmia asked the man, putting extra emphasis on the title. … As you may know, the Elite Four are a group of four individuals just below the Champion, and they need to be defeated in order for a trainer to get the privilege to challenge said Champion. And, for some reason, here stood one.

'This is a matter which the Pokémon League has interest in as well. I'm just here to watch, as an official observer. I trust there are no issues?' Jacques informed and then asked, looking at Kalmia with confidence. Kalmia stared at him with a slightly raised eyebrow... and then smiled again.

'Nah, that's no problem. You can watch if that suits your fancy suit!' She told, happily grinning, her words quite clearly being made up on the spot as she formed sentences to speak.

'You're most kind, Professor.' Jacques bowed once again, before putting his hat back onto his head and smiled sinisterly. His eyes trailed over the young hopefuls, to see if the revelation of his title had any impact on the younger crowd. 'Fu-fu.' He chuckled a little.

Then.

'NOW, no more waiting! Lesse, is everyone here?' Kalmia looked around at the people present. 'Yes, you are! Now, come on in!' She said happily, spinning around to enter.

The lab itself contained a combination of bookshelves and machines with little room in between to walk on. She shelves were stationed so they stood in a circle in the rectangular room, not taking advantage of the corners as it could. Fortunately, the space in the middle was pretty large, which was lucky because there were multiple what appeared to be computer-servers standing filling 40% of it on an angle to the back and right, big blocks of computer-hardware, and it was all coupled to a laptop sitting on Kalmia's desk, which stood right in front of it.

Said desk had, except for the laptop, also numerous papers, several opened letters, binders with research-labels and such. It appeared she spent most of her time there. There were also two other machines. Another big platform which had small spots where to place six Pokéballs, and it would appear it was actually a healing-station like that found in a Pokémon Center. Also, there was a more item, a large cylinder with a glass middle with a hatch in it, seemingly made to place something moderately large within it. There was nothing that revealed the purpose of it.

Despite how everything was at an angle, there appeared to be some logic to it. Kalmia knew exactly where everything was, and the part where there wasn't any machines was decently manoeuvrable. In the back there was a front-door, and on the right there was a door to the side-house where one could assume Kalmia lived. In front of that door, blinking a bit in realization at that people were coming in, was Kalmia's assistant. Realizing she had to look good the girl spun around, straightened her back and poked her glasses, staring in focus at the newcomers.

Jacques, entering after the rest of you, calmly walked in and placed himself watching from right next to Vivia with a light smile and an inspector's gaze, mildly freaking the glassed girl out and making her flinch away towards a nearby bookshelf with a distressed expression...

And at a separate bench on the left, there were numerous red machines stacked, along with numerous prepared Pokéballs. For seemingly no specific intelligent reason, there was also a Slowpoke standing on the left edge of the table, pink on four legs, tail in the winds, staring into nothingness. Kalmia went right over to the tables, not giving any indication of noticing the Pokémon.

'Alright, everyone come in, and listen up.' She put her hands on her hips and spun around to the audience. Her smile was excited, and she was eager to get started.

'These Pokéballs contain the Pokémon which you'll be starting your journey with. In order to ensure fairness, I have picked out your first Pokémon for you. That should prevent anyone who came first from picking one another wanted.' Kalmia nodded, pleased with herself. … So the only danger was that maybe she picked one for someone that another wanted, but eh, that'd always potentially happen.

'Along with that, I'll also give each of you a Pokédex, which I'll describe all about, but...' Kalmia rolled her eyes and grinned. '… I figure I've kept you waiting long enough! You're getting your Pokémon FIRST! Now, who's first?' Kalmia asked, grinning to the crowd.

<And now, to save time, here's a little text-thing about receiving your Pokémon, in the order which the characters are in the Characters tab>

@Rune_Alchemist

@Lasrever

@Eklispe

@Delta44

@Pyromaniacwolf

@Pink Madness

@Pirouette

@Keyblade87

@Pikmin Eye

The Pokédexes you're all receiving look like this. It has a touch-screen to enable quick usage, and it is that touch-screen that is displaying the information and the virtual keyboard. There are buttons for those who don't want to use touch-screen, that left thing is part-joystick, we'll say, even though it's clearly something else. The nickname needs to be registered to the database, after all.
@Pikmin Eye Well, um. "if you still wanted to join" sounds like she had intentions to join, which it seems like she didn't. But, eh! I'll assume it simply means you're inviting her again! Haha! Nicely posted!

@Delta44 Oh, dear. The first part of your lines read kind of unfriendly. I'm pretty sure Claire wasn't intending on being "mean-spirited". Most people probably wouldn't have a problem with accepting a third person into a conversation. ... Oh, well! That's a totally okay way to be, too! And some nice questions were asked, too! So good luck with that! XD ... And nicely posted, of course~

So, now, then. Coming up rather soon, there's going to be... a LOT of GM pre-prepared text to read in order to get this show running. So, um. Would you guys prefer we take it in increments so that you guys can react to it or should I just dump it all in one big bulk so that we can advance faster? XD
@McHaggis Er, a little late, but I want to congratulate you on your win! It was well deserved! And of course, @Keyguyperson's entry was well deserving of the runner-up spot~

@Esoteric Hm. If it was a grandfather reading me the story while I sat and listened attentively, then I do believe I probably would have gotten more invested than I did. I'm not entirely sure you managed to convey that feel. But, even if you did, it is very difficult to become emotionally invested into something so... so... alien. XD

Regardless, as I said, it was really interesting. You're welcome for the compliments, you deserve them. Well done, still.
@Pink Madness Playing a character that would say no to being invited to play card-games is entirely okay~ … As is potentially playing a character that would potentially insist or ask again in hope of the shy individual overcoming their apprehension for potentially playing, you other two, haha. Well, of course, so is playing a character that wouldn’t ask again, all is fine.

Well posted, regardless~

@Pirouette Oh, dear. Did you get spooked? Haha. I do believe you might have used the wrong name after your last line, but eh, that’s details. Looks like we’re slowly getting to something. Nicely posted, that should open the way for Delta~ … Though I think you might have mentioned the wrong player, I don’t see @Lasrever and Abigail involved in that you’re currently in, haha. No worries, we can handle figuring out what’s up.

Let’s see, before I post… I would like to see @Keyblade87 react to the strange guy’s response, potentially see @Delta44 react to the greetings, and perhaps @Eklispe/@Pikmin Eye’s reactions to Donna’s apprehension. I’m satisfied with Abigail and Lucian’s conversation, but they’re obviously allowed to continue with whatever they like if they desire to. Claire’s response to whatever Ren says could be interesting, but could be included even after I post my post, as is any other reaction. So yupp, that’s about that.
@Pink Madness I'm pretty sure Martin and Dawkin switched card-game to allow for more players, and you were invited~ So, um, did you accept the invitation? If so, or if not, could you modify your post to detail that? It's slightly important for Pikmin Eye's and Eklispe's response~

@Pyromaniacwolf And yupp, well posted. Teh-heh, most likely cases are amusing when compared to the reality. Though, yeah, she is prepared. XD
@Pink Madness Yes, as Eclispe said, in the post right before yours Dawkin initiated contact with Martin. And then you posted, also interacting with Martin. Hence, Pikmin Eye responded to the both of you in the same post. No problems at all.

@Pyromaniacwolf Well, er. I suppose it would be? As long as you run it by me first so nothing I can't accept gets through. Though, it kind of helps me as a GM if I know all there is about you in case I want to use your backstory for something. Now, you're from Johto, meaning your past is much more unlikely to get itself involved in what's currently going on in Isson, but I still could want to, and not knowing the whole story could keep me from daring to do anything. Yeah.
@Lasrever Nicely posted. Teh-heh, you two have been having one consistent conversation. In any case.

I believe that should about suffice. If those who have reactions yet to do can do those just one more time, I believe that should be enough to get this show on the road. Haha.
@Eklispe I do like to make my players feel appreciated. Responding to the posts feels like the way to do that. I'm happy if I've gotten the intended result.

@Pink Madness ... The lab has a back door? What’s more, a back door that looks enough like a front-door that you can mistake it for a front door? … SURE! Kalmia wants people to know that this is the Pokémon Lab, regardless of what direction you’re coming from! XD

I haven’t specifically described there to be any trees around. Sure, there are forests not that far outside Pureplain, but Pureplain was built on a plain. Eh, details. Someone probably had trees in their garden, and it’s one of those the strange man’s standing by. Haha.

And it was totally Martin’s fault you walked into him. After all, setting up a card-game’s the same as blending into the background. It’s no wonder you couldn’t see him! … That, and he since he was playing on the ground, he was probably too low to see for someone aiming for the skies. Right? XD

Anyways, jokes aside, nicely posted. And now Martin has two incidents to react to. Being calmly introduced to and being clumsily walked into. Wonderful.

@Keyblade87 And… yupp! Someone can totally speak to the strange man! XD

Nicely posted. Lesse. You’re calling out from the other side, but this man is not one who would raise his voice. In addition, he wouldn’t actually come over if he could help it. How to overcome that. … Eh. I’m the GM! I’ll just momentarily upgrade your hearing instead. XD

@Pikmin Eye Wooo. What a nice and civilized response. I’m honestly impressed. Let’s all play card-games together! Yaaaaaaaaaay~! XD

Nicely posted~
The guy was just standing there inspecting, when suddenly he’s being called by someone. The man blinked a little, hearing sound-waves directed at him indicating speech, and he turned to look at the source. A… young and fierce-looking boy, quite in-line for how he’d himself imagine a new Pokémon Trainer should look, with suitable quirkiness. Of course that would be the kind which called out to an odd stranger. He chuckled at the amusing typicality. Only polite to respond that, isn’t it?

‘Do not worry, young hopeful.’ He replied. ‘I have business in the lab. It is not the same business as yours, but it does leave me waiting all the same. As for watching young hopefuls, it’s simply a nostalgic thing for an adult to watch children getting ready for their fateful journey. Can you blame me? As someone who only comes by Pureplain City rarely and with all that's been going on, it’s a refreshing sight. Fu-fu.’ He chuckled, confident he had given reasonable enough an excuse for his presence here.
