Okay. My apologies that it took a while. I had a few things to contend with. Though, my Sunday's totally empty, so if you post before that, I will have another post up for you shortly.
The Phantump watched her as she fell, curiously watching the result of his attack. It simply watched with a neutral wide-eyed expression of a regular Phantump. Then… Amelia started laughing. This slowly caused the Phantump’s own expression to twist, and a smile appeared on the stump-ghost, and the Pokémon laughed lightly alongside Amelia’s laughter, it’s eyes looking a little happy. It got to share its happiness a bit.
‘Phan?’ The Phantump blinked a bit in surprise when Amelia offered it more opportunities to scare. It was something the Pokémon hadn’t even considered before. It was a bit hesitant, looking to its own followers (who looked more confused than anything else), then to Shuppet and Litwick, finally back to Amelia, staring wide-eyed for a bit. She’s going to have to expand a little bit on what she’s suggesting.
‘Sorry, that’s how things are.’ Eugene shrugged with an apologetic smile about how things were around the island, and then nodded when he was told to wait. He raised his eyebrows a bit, but otherwise obeyed the command to stay, petting one of his Skarmories as he did.
‘What?’ Yvonne was in the process of making sure her hair was alright and still stylish even after all the wind that had gone through it on the way here, but she quickly turned her eyes towards Claire when her question came. But, with the question done, Yvonne smirks.
‘Why, of course I have a Pokémon!’ She proudly announces, taking Pokéballs out of a pocket somewhere and pointing towards Claire. Three Pokéballs. ‘Three of them! With these, I will conquer all the lesser three Contest Halls of the lands, and shoot myself for stardom!’ Yvonne smirked proudly, looking at Claire. ‘But, of course, I won’t show my trump cards ahead of time to my-’ Yvonne accidentally dropped one of her Pokéballs, and her eyes went a little wide at this realization. No, wait. She hadn’t dropped it as much as the Pokéball had suddenly shot out of her grip without her permission and hit the ground. A flash lit up as the Pokémon escaped.
‘SNUBULL!’ … And a pink dog-like Pokémon on two legs jumped onto a startled Yvonne’s leg to violently cuddle it. It had red ribbons on its ears, for cuteness? Well, for a certain kind of person it was probably adorable. Probably.
Pokédex Entry #209 – Snubull, the Fairy (SERIOUSLY!?) Pokémon. It carries a scary face that frightens smaller Pokémon, but Snubull is actually a cowardly, excessively affectionate and kind Pokémon that is very popular with women for its frolicing ways. It becomes sad from Pokémon fleeing it and is known to sleep half the day.
‘J-jeff! Not now!’ And Yvonne was suddenly very busy trying to get the extremely affectionate dog off her leg. In panic, she looked to explain herself to Claire.
‘Th-this is, uh, Jeffrey! He’s, um, defending me on my quest, and is cute while doing it, supposedly…!’ She tried to explain, suddenly embarrassed, unable to get the happy dog off her leg. ‘I hate you, mom…!’
So, the two of them started moving on towards the Wet Caverns. Their travels took them, for the first time for Martin but back for Dawkin, to Route 2.
Route 2
Route 2 is the wetter alternative to the fairly dry and straight-forward Route 1. Dragon Lake naturally flows south, causing many rivers through Route 2 which lead on into Infested Woods, giving the woods all the water it needs to grow. The road forward is a more primitive gravel road, which in order to get to the mountain housing the Wet Caverns on the other side requires one to cross a number of bridges, and it’s near tradition that there’s at least one trainer waiting in ambush for any other trainer who desires to cross. But, Route 2 sees traffic from nature-goers, fishermen and so as well as trainers, giving possibilities to slip by if desired.
One step to the left and one has ended up in the wetlands of Route 2, drenched by Dragon Lake’s insistence on breaking into the ground. Large flowers and many bushes arise from these lands, the nature is lush and green. Although one might wish to pack an extra pair of boots if one intends to traverse the reaches, there are undoubtedly many wild Pokémon awaiting in the grass around. Quite a few other trainers seem to have thought this, as there are quite a few in various stages of Pokémon searching or battling. With the combination of water and grass, one can assume the kind of Pokémon one might encounter. In the distance, by the lake itself, stands a number of fishermen’s huts, for those interested.
To the right, instead, stands the imposing Infested Woods, which scare people by its name and promises of how terrifying it might be to wander deep, or maybe that’s just scary-tales from those who are scared to death by bugs. Regardless, it stands there, drinking deep from the waters provided by the rivers. One merely needs to break off from the path and then one will sooner or later be in the woods. It is an alternative way to the Wet Caverns that avoids the trainer-bridges, but the choice of where to go obviously falls on the trainers themselves. For the most obvious Pokémon, there are Pidgeys flying about, every here and there one carries a captured Weedle from the tall grass, which tries to sting back…
They headed for the Wet Caverns, where Dawkin had seen the members of the different teams. However, it is time for a little reminder of what happens when one tries to just cross a route without any other kinds of precautions.
‘I spy, with my little eye…!’ Announced a male voice on the side, obviously in their direction.
‘Two trainers, ripe for the pickings!’ A female voice filled in, quite obviously just as excitedly.
In front of them were two spherical balls with limbs. In front of the male was a floating grey rock, glaring angrily at Martin and Dawkin.
Pokédex Entry #74 – Geodude, the Rock Pokémon. Found in fields as well as mountains. They commonly rest, half-buried in the ground and indistinguishable from normal rocks. There are always way more Geodude around than a traveler will notice. Stepping on one by accident may trigger their rage.
In front of the girl stood a blue ball with a circular pattern on its stomach, staring like wondering what on Earth it was doing here at Dawkin and Martin.
Pokédex Entry #60 – Poliwag, the Tadpole Pokémon. It walks on two small newly grown legs, but it is much faster swimming than walking. Its damp skin is so thin, one can see its spiralling innards through the stomach, but the skin is so flexible that most fangs cannot break through it.
Well. It is quite obvious what’s going on.
Camper Larry and Picnicker Carol would like to fight!
This fight can be ignored or quick-fought if desired.
@Xandrya Well, uh. I got under the impression that Arex was going to head there immediately, but I guess not. You're obviously free to do whatever you like, no need to just stay in the room, but if you reason she stays in her room, then sure. I'm currently waiting for Grayson's and Maxi's reactions because I find them relevant to the scene, but if they otherwise tell me to I can post to hurry it along.
.... Pffffth. I'm just going to mention for anyone who posts before my time to post. Lataniva is currently giving Arex the coldest, most unamused stare in the history of cold and unamused stares.
@Dark Light@Xandrya Oh, wait. If Arex is going to Amy, it is highly likely that Lataniva will tag along unless somehow convinced to do otherwise, and that'd bring her into contact with Amy, meaning it might influence the thoughts that brought me to make the mention of her intention of doing that later the same day. Meaning, depending on what happens in such a conversation, Lataniva might revise her such intention. Xandrya, you might want to postpone any intention to reply to that part until we know what's happening. Just know I'm intending on doing it eventually, possibly, if nothing changes it. ... Haha.
I… REALLY don’t have the time to join another roleplay. But this character creation process looked way too fun to just pass over. So, to entertain myself tonight, I went through with it because I wanted to. Hahaha.
To begin with, STR: 4, AGI: 4, VIT: 4, MAG: 4, LCK: 4
Special note, I am not going to name anything yet, because I want to know my girl’s story before I make such decisions. And before I determine her story, I need to determine who she is through going through this. Now, then.
Made a contract! - I may choose uniform and fifth perk. I have a special reason for this.
I am given 1 Gold, 3 Silver and 4 Bronze. Okay.
Rolls 11 on age. 7 years old. Whoops. Oh, well.
Rolls 2 on body. Underdeveloped body. +1 LCK or MAG. OK. Makes sense. I’m going to do MAG, sorry LCK. MAG: 5
Now, then. I want to spend my Gold coin to get a second power. But, otherwise, I wanna become a powerful magician. I have 3 silver and 4 bronze, a total of 10 stat points to distribute. Let’s do this.
Two Silver and a Bronze on MAG, bringing it up to 10. A Silver and a Bronze on AGI, bringing it up to 7. Remaining two Bronze on VIT, bringing it up to 6. There we go.
STR: 4, AGI: 7, VIT: 6, MAG: 10, LCK: 4
A little dodgey and tough to go along with super magical firepower. Now to hope the rest I roll isn’t strength-based. Specialization!
Rolls 5. Specialization: Reinforcement. Barriers, boosting enhancements and healing. No offense. … Oooookay. +1 STR, +1 AGI, +1 MAG, +1 LCK. +1 VIT out of costume, words of encouragement has strong effect. … Okay. I have high MAG. I’m a bloody healer. XD
STR: 5, AGI: 8, VIT: 7 (4 out of costume), MAG: 11, LCK: 5
Rolls 10. Weapon: Ranged. +1 AGI. Weapons that hit from afar, recommended for deep MAG pools. Well…! :D … Well, I want some form of gun. Preferably a magical gun so I can decide how powerful a shot I want to make and how much mana I want to use and such. Is that possible?
STR: 5, AGI: 9, VIT: 7 (4 out of costume), MAG: 11, LCK: 5
Get to pick my outfit, thanks to Contract. Well… I got a ranged weapon, and kind of want that +1 AGI, but make a 7 year old wear skimpy clothing? … EH! IT’S ANIME! Skimpy! +1 AGI!
STR: 5, AGI: 10, VIT: 7 (4 out of costume), MAG: 11, LCK: 5
Powers. I want two. I still want two. I’m using my gold here.
Rolls 12. Power of Friendship. People magically become my allies and I get magical hints on how to befriend people, people just feel like helping me. … Whelp, doesn’t that go awesomely with my Reinforcement Specialization. … Gosh.
Second power. I used Gold Coin.
Rolls 1. Killing Blow (+1 STR or MAG) (+1 MAG to 12). Super blow that dumps all my power on an enemy. … … … You know, given my Reinforcement Specialization, wouldn’t it make sense that this is a spell which provides all my power to heal and super-reinforce someone else with unimaginable power so they can deal with the threats for me while I collapse? Haha.
Now, then. Perks. First table.
Rolls 15: Monstrous Metamorphosis. … GOOD GOD. I can transform into a monster form linked to my emotional state. I take that back, my Killing Blow is linked to this! … Yeah, I boost myself to a monstrous 7 STR. XD … But 12 AGI and 9 VIT, noted.
Rolls 2: Martial Training. Trained in tactics, logistics and intricacies of a large number of weapons, +1 STR. Huh. I am… surprised. 6 STR, 8 when monster. Hah.
STR: 6, AGI: 10, VIT: 7 (4 out of costume), MAG: 12, LCK: 5 When monster: STR: 8, AGI: 12, VIT: 9.
Second table.
Rolls 4: Training. Gain complete mastery in one subject, martial art, trade skill or philosophy. … … … … Gun-fu. I want to be a master of gun-fu. Yupp.
Rolls 17: Soul Jar. Basically, my body’s just a puppet and I’m a tiny breakable soul har on the side. Body cannot be killed, loss of fine control… Gah. I needed that to aim.
And now, the reason I got the Contract. I want bloody Wings. Combat table, 17. There we go. I have wings.
Now for Rolls 12. Boring. I’m led by a normal Puchuu. Basic set, the Puchuu can call Emergency Reinforcements, I get mental Job Satisfaction for working but I’m Expendable and the puffball is Cagey in what he says. Hah. Well, other than the basic set, I get one benefit. That’s easy. I want a Concerned Puchuu that won’t try to kill me. Hahahaha.
“You may gain an additional benefit for each drawback you take on”. … Well. I’ve already got Monstrous Metamorphosis. Let’s go full Monster Girl. Magical Overload and Monstrous Form.
I have to pick one from each category. But… I really don’t like the Mind mutations. But, I must pick a black one from here to get what I want. … Devourer. I need to eat a ton of meat to not suddenly start eating the meat of people. God help those who keep me from getting my food. … Hahahaha.
Now, for perks. From Bodily Mutations, I want Wings and Thick Skin. Wings give +1 AGI and the Wings perk. Wings perk detail that flying freely with that is difficult unless I somehow get flying again. I got flying again. I can fly freely.
Thick Skin simply gives +3 VIT, +1 STR and -2 AGI. It comes to a total of +3 VIT, +1 STR and -1 AGI with the Wings +1 AGI included.
STR: 7, AGI: 9, VIT: 10 (4 out of costume), MAG: 12, LCK: 5 When going full monster: STR: 9, AGI: 11, VIT: 12, MAG: 12, LCK 5.
Finally, a weakness from Soul Mutations. I pick a Weakness to Ice Magic. With thick, scaly skin and wings I can fly freely with, I’m totally a dragon-girl, after all. XD
I don’t have a limit to how many times I can exchange these, huh? Well. I want Mana Font and Physical Prowess for +1 STR, in exchange for Big Brother and Loud. I’ve got a Loud Puchuu that is Considerate of me but is constantly playing Big Brother and nosing into my personal life. Heh. As if a dragon girl has much of a private life. And of course, Mana Font as more ammunition to my Ranged weapons. Yupp. We’re investing in strength, now, too.
Final stats. STR: 8, AGI: 9, VIT: 10 (4 out of costume), MAG: 12, LCK: 5 When going full monster: STR: 10, AGI: 11, VIT: 12, MAG: 12, LCK 5.
… Hm. I feel like it maybe is a little too easy to make a monster-girl in this. You can just pick “I wanna be a monster girl!”. … … … Oh, well!
Recruitment: Contract (pick uniform and fifth perk) Age: 7 Body: Underdeveloped (+1 MAG) Stats: 2 Silver and 1 Bronze on MAG, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze on AGI, 2 Bronze on VIT (+5 MAG, +3 AGI, +2 VIT) Specialization: Reinforcement (barriers, enhancements and healing) (+1 STR, AGI, MAG & LCK, +1 VIT while normal) Weapon: Ranged (+1 AGI) (getting guns) Outfit: Skimpy (+1 AGI) (picked with Contract) Power: Power of Friendship (is automatically likable and gets magical tips on how to make allies) Power 2: Killing Blow (+1 MAG)(super-powerful blow that exhausts user after use)(gained with gold coin)
Perks Combat Perk 1: Monstrous Metamorphosis (when in emotional stress, become monster. +2 STR, AGI & VIT) Combat Perk 2: Martial Training (+1 Str)(knowledge of arms and tactics) Support Perk 1: Training (gain mastery of one subject… Gun-Fu.) Support Perk 2: Soul Jar (soul is in object separate from body, woah) Perk 5: Wings (get wings, difficulty flying if only 1 such)(picked with contract)
Patron: Puchuu. Base Benefit 1: Emergency Reinforcements (puchuu can call for help) Base Benefit 2: Job Satisfaction (dose of pleasure doing magical girl things) Base Drawback 1: Expendable (puchuu doesn’t care if I die for its goals) Base Drawback 2: Cagey (puchuu only tells me what I need to know) Free Benefit: Concerned (puchuu cares for me and don’t want me dead)
Bought Benefit 1: Mana Font (bonus amount of mana) Taken Drawback 1: Big Brother (puchuu will poke into my personal life) Bought Benefit 2: Physical Prowess (+1 STR) Taken Drawback 2: Loud (puchuu is going to let others overhear instructions/advice meant for me) Bought Benefit 3: Magical Overload (become a monster girl) Taken Drawback 3: Monstrous Form (become a monster girl)
Monster Girl Body Mutation (green): Wings (+1 Agi and additional Wings perk, can now fly freely) Body Mutation (green): Thick Skin (covered in scales. +3 VIT, +1 STR, -2 AGI) Mind Mutation (black): Devourer (needs to eat lots of meat or will start eating men) Soul Mutation (black): Weakness to Ice (because dragon, makes perfect sense)
I’m a 7 year old monster girl in an underdeveloped body with scaly skin and wings wearing skimpy clothing, who has an ice-weakness and needs to feed on meat to not eat humans. The magic of my soul is Reinforcement, used to create barriers to defend as well as enhance my own body or the bodies of others to further destroy my enemies, as well as potent healing effects as I have pretty good magical capabilities and an extra large amount of Mana through Mana Font. I have the Power of Friendship, making me able to naturally be liked and learn how to make friends, and I also have a Killing Blow which is likely that I enhance myself for an extremely brutal blow.
But, secretly, this dragon-girl body isn’t even my real body. I’m wearing a certain jewel somewhere on my body that is my soul jar, and I’m just controlling this body from it. I have lost fine control because of this, but I can still aim for some reason, maybe? Anyways. Breaking the jewel is the only way to kill me, my other body can be damaged but will never die. I became like this because I made a contract with a Puchuu due to my great potential, great enough to make me a monster girl. My Puchuu is considerate of me, for some reason, but is also quite Loud with his lines taking no steps not to be noticed and also likes to interfere with my personal life like a Big Brother. Yikes, that doesn’t sound like a good combo.
Anyways. I’m normally strong enough to casually pick up a full ½ barrel keg and throw 20 feet, as well as tough enough to shrug off bladed weapons and agile enough to, well, probably hit with my guns and dodge you. I’m, for some reason, highly trained in the arts of tactics, logistics and weaponry and am a highly professional gun-fu artist, and I likely wield a couple guns to battle, which combines well with my flight. If emotionally disturbed I can go Monstrous Metamorphosis into full dragon, with serious boosts to my strength, agility and toughness in exchange for sanity. And let’s not forget that I am a powerful user of Reinforcement magic, nobody falls while I’m on their side with barriers and healing, likely able to block even powerful beams of magic. … Assuming it isn’t ice. Ice is my lethal enemy, my worst weakness, and I feel pain/am drained of power just by being near the cold. Haha.
Final stats. STR: 8, AGI: 9, VIT: 10, MAG: 12, LCK: 5. When going full monster: STR: 10, AGI: 11, VIT: 12, MAG: 12, LCK 5. When normal: 3, 3, VIT: 4, 3, 3? Is luck affected? Hah.
… XD … That was quite a journey. I have been amused. I invested into a magical character, and then I got, well… … … Hahahaha. Yupp. Oh, well. Onto doing other things. My apologies if this was just troubling to you all. Feel free to completely ignore.
So, um. My post looks like it does because of our sudden jumps in time that happen fairly often. I just wanted to do two things, and if I just focused on one I might have missed the other. So, therefore, it looks like this. The two are separate. One where Lataniva heads for Arex, the other where she tries to infiltrate Amy's room. If I am forgetting anything or am doing anything I cannot, feel free to yell at me. I have sensible reasons on my mind. I hope. Anyway. There.
Lataniva narrowed her eyes looking intently at what was taking place before her. There was a grim satisfaction in having driven Arex to leave behind common sense and go for his prey. In this state, it was improper to interfere. As a fellow Dalentian, Lataniva knew that, and in fact, she was taking enjoyment in watching this. Now, she had never felt anything like what she felt from Arex before, but she knew what was happening from a purely Dalentian stand-point. It was time to watch what was happening and take in as much information as she can…
Lataniva’s eyes twitched as the shots echoed from beside her and took out Arex’s prey. Lataniva quickly threw an angry glare at Grayson, mildly backed with a slight psionic force giving her glare a physical presence intent on informing the man that what he did was wrong. She spun her halberd in her right hand and prepared her left for possible use of psionics just in case Arex lashed out at them for this action. … He did not. That was a mild relief. Certainly helped with their priorities of getting out of this station alive. Very well. Lataniva let go of all pressure and then simply kept an eye out on Arex as they headed back to the ship, throwing her psionic powers at any Hunters that stood in their way before they could take her or her companions out. If they were close-combat robots, they’d find trouble assaulting the party as long as Lataniva was there.
Lataniva was present for the celebration. Mostly to note that Arex was not there. She did drink a little, but not much at all. She knew the effect of alcohol on her alien frame was considerable, and they did not want to have a wasted Dalentian on board. The effects would be potentially disastrous. She had learned of this at an earlier time, and she wasn’t about to repeat that embarrassment. Essentially, she was a light-weight, and if there was any individual who made a more dangerous drunk she had yet to learn of them.
Afterwards, she searched with determination for that specific individual. It wasn’t hard. Just let her awareness search the ship ahead of her as she walked to cover a large amount of area, seeking his Sh’kwarr. Her halberd was on strapped onto her back and she had her daggers sheathed, but they were still on her body. She found Arex, and someone had spoken up to him…
‘No. Not you.’
Lataniva said in a commanding, lightly hostile voice to Grayson, sounding as if she believed she had more authority in the matter than him.
‘I will speak to him.’
She said, turning and staring at Arex with an unreadable glare. She then turned to Maxi, who apparently was also here. Oh, that’s right. He was a medic. Lataniva revised her intention to make him leave.
‘... Your help will be needed for his body. While you do that…’
After having said so to Maxi, Lataniva turned to Arex, glaring at him somewhat accusatory yet also quite clearly with something in mind.
‘I intend to perform the Rite of Merger on you.’
Lataniva demanded, staring at him. The “Rite of Merger” was the act of two Dalentians mind-reading each other’s brains to one another, helping one another with slight mind-manipulation to know what information each of them didn’t know. After a good Rite of Merger, both parties shared the exact same knowledge. However, that was when someone performed the Rite of Merger WITH someone. Lataniva had demanded to use it ON Arex, meaning she wanted all his knowledge yet he’d get none of hers. That is, if he even knew anything about what the Rite of Merger was.
She continued to glare at him. She wasn’t intending on doing it without permission, actually. That was against Dalentian rules, engraved into Lataniva’s mind since birth. So, she waited. Glaring.
Perhaps much later (splitting a time-line a bit perhaps because the earlier scene is DEFINITELY not finished), depending on how things goes, Lataniva anyways had the intention of sleeping inside Amy’s room, if she could. This assumes each room has more than one bed and that the door was open, if either of those are untrue, this did not happen. If, however, both those were true then Lataniva would seemingly randomly enter the room, exit the armor (blind girl wouldn’t see her anyway) and then take the unoccupied bed without a word. If Amy didn’t disturb her, then Lataniva would simply sleep there peacefully. If Amy questioned, well, that’ll do for a different post, then.
@Pyromaniacwolf Of course. The intention with alerting you to that is mostly because if you for some reason want a conversation with the NPCs then Martin and Dawkin might be dropping in soon and not likely just walk by them. Haha. Anyways, yeah. You're free to do what you want. It's just an alert~
@Eklispe So, should I assume you're tagging along with Martin to Route 2 or do you want to get a post in or otherwise?
Edit: Heh. Gotcha. Nicely posted.
Edit 2: My apologies that I am taking a while. Things are going to happen tomorrow, and on Friday, and on Saturday... but I will try to ensure that you get a post to react to tomorrow. Waiting for more than that would be terrible.
