‘…’ Lea stood silently when Kimble showed up from who knows where, instead of staying on the other side of the city and defending against storms as commanded. … Nope, Lea lost interest. Too nosy. Controlled by whims. Far too flighty to be a suitable companion. Lea closed the phone and put it away, lest the one she spoke to would have her voice be revealed. The elfin Magical Girl was less than impressed by the action of having a cheek rubbed against hers. The notion to sting her for this breach of personal space occurred to her, but the possible ramification of something that could be interpreted as a hostile act made such an action not worth it. Fortunately, it seemed Kimble was all too whimsical to continue wondering who Lea had been talking about for longer.

‘… If you desire her affection, then telling her directly is an effective method,’ Lea told Kimble about Alicia. ‘This forces her to become aware of you. Even if the notion initially displeases her, doing it as soon as possible means she’ll have more time to consider it and she will feel like she has to consider you before selecting another.’

Sure, what Kimble talked about may not have been romance, but the advice stuck. Regardless…

‘What are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you to control the storm on the other side?’ Lea asked, even as she swung a hand to send a wave of wind to counter another nearby tornado. The rain, though… she couldn’t do anything about the rain.

Mayra blinked as Tonya descended. Oooh, she came down herself? Mayra wasn’t occupied with that the slime balloon was attacking her, instead she was faced with that Tonya turned and headed for her at great speed, greater than Mayra could achieve. Mayra smirked, her tail swinging. Tonya didn’t know. How unfortunate for her. Want to fight Mayra up close?

‘YEAH, COME AND GET ME!’ Mayra laughed as she launched herself happily towards the incoming Tonya. She noticed the wind, so instead she charged her fire into her own body, her whole monstrous body being a conduit for magic (fists/mystic dual weapon), allowing her limbs to heat up to temperatures where they glowed with searing heat as Mayra flew off to meet Tonya’s charge. Tonya was defended by her umbrella weapon, and as Mayra headed for it she was impaling herself…

Except that’s where Mayra turned immaterial for a second. For Mayra’s a Fire & Dark specialized Magical Girl, allowing for some tricks from both. The momentarily intangible Mayra grinned, passing straight through the umbrella and intending on reshaping herself just on the other side of Tonya’s weapon…

‘Cha-HO!’ Mayra called as she swung her arm, intending on passing on Tonya’s left as to avoid being impaled upon reformation and having her left super-heated arm slam into Tonya’s face at the speed of both of these speedy individuals charging towards one another. The intention was to slam her arm into Tonya at a downwards angle, carrying her along to then slam her into the ground, decking her with monster-fueled strength in a super-heated arm. The moments that followed would tell if Tonya had the ability to avoid something she probably didn’t see coming. … And if Tonya managed to dodge, Mayra might still swing her tail to attempt hitting her after the dodge, far weaker than her arm would be, but still.

If the arm intended to deck her did hit, Mayra’d swing around to face her opponent again and comment ‘And how’s THAT!?’ with a wide grin. If she failed, Mayra might still swing around, depends on if she got countered or not.

Mariette stood in a building with a window facing the graveyard. She had a blank expression, her left arm clutching a stuffed bunny and her right fingers playing with a platinum coin. She could feel the presence of another horror, all the way from here. If that one escaped, and this world was doomed to be his… that’d put an end to Asengav’s plans for this world, too. That was less than desirable. Of course, Asengav didn’t really need this world, per say, he could pick virtually any other… but he had picked this one. Not sure why, he just had. That made it somewhat important to stop whatever was going on.

Mariette looked down at her platinum coin. She had been holding off on using it. The reasoning for this was that, should a crisis situation emerge, she’d have a platinum coin at hand she could use it and gain almost whatever she needed in order to solve the crisis. If she had to get Get Out of Jail for some reason? Deal. … Things like that. However, it occurred to her now that it may be better to already hold the power, to be practiced with it before the situation occurred, to know all the ins and outs of the power she’d gain. It also allowed her to be ready for sudden surprises without needing to spend time fiddling with a platinum coin. There were two sides to this, pros and cons to using the coin. Hm.

Though, hadn’t she already basically decided what she wanted? Also, she might have to fight a horror in a moment.

‘… Oh, well,’ Mariette figured, as she grasped the platinum coin into her palm with a firm grip, and released its power.

Numerous hard-fought levels later, Erza switched his team to train the next party-members, Princess and Hunter. Both of them served well in conflict with Budew, on account of resistance against Absorb, but Princess would suffer initially against other similarly levelled Pokémon in the wild until she got experience. Fortunately, that's exactly what they were here to get!

Hunter grew to Level 9! Hunter learned Leer!

Princess grew to Level 11! Princess learned Gust!

Hunter took some damage battling wild Pokémon, but otherwise he was fine. Princess had taken noticeably more damage, but Erza healed her right up with potions. And at the end of that, he still had a full health Pidgey now. It was raining pretty well by now, and they were battling the wild Pokémon at the forests next to Route 11, and-

And a sudden Water Gun flew and hit Princess from a range, causing damage and was an obvious sneak attack.

Behind some trees, a Pokémon giggled and hid. It was a Pokémon shaped like a tuft of floating cloud, with big eyes and a wide smile. But most notably, the head of it was wrapped inside a large raindrop of water, but was that truly it’s natural shape?

Though the Pokédexed showed…

Pokédex Entry #351 – Castform, the Weather Pokémon. It has the ability to change its cellular structure to adapt to weather conditions, changing its type to take maximum advantage of the current surroundings. By channeling the weather, it gains the power needed to protect its tiny body.

‘Castform~!’ Castform told teasingly, apparently thinking the Water Gun was hilarious.

… And there was the rare Pokémon of Route 11.

Erza’s actions?

Delphox had already ran off after Laurinda, it was impossible to ask if she was alright with it on account that she didn’t stay to chat after pushing it all onto Chandelure.

‘Chandelure...’ Chandelure said, sounding worried. Still, it was apparently what was decided here. Soooooo, heading deeper it was.

Eryn attempted to move deeper, probably avoiding the Dustox as best she could, but almost immediately she found some amount of Dustox passing above her spreading their Poison Powder. It did look grim, until…

‘CHANDELURE!’ Chandelure shouted out as he directed multiple of its “limbs” into the air… and a MASSIVE plume of fire erupted, sprouting outwards and clutching together like a venus trap of fire around the offending poison. The flames soared and burned, scattering Dustoxes and lighting up the night in the forest for the briefest of moments. That, was the Fire-type move Inferno, clearing a path for them to move deeper into the forest… and leaving numerous trees on fire as Chandelure hurried along. No problem, though. This forest can totally handle itself.

Chandelure kept throwing the occasional fireballs around at closing offenders as the area they were heading for kept growing darker and darker. They were approaching the deepest reaches of Infested Woods. Soon enough… the trees around them started to look less and less alive.

There was something odd about entirely expecting something and still being somehow caught by it. Naja had expected something to emerge from his hand, that’s why she had jabbed at it. To force it out. Yet, somehow, he had intercepted and completely countered her jab, the fastest and most defensive thing in her arsenal, and used it against her. It was… somewhat confusing to be sent flying by that.

As she stopped her flight with her feet a few meters away, her back aching as she stumbled. It really reminded her of the first time she had met her Baji Quan master. Yeah, that’s why she had gone to China in the first place, hadn’t it been? She had mastered Savate, she could floor her masters at her dojo the majority of the time, and yet she had felt she wasn’t strong enough. That’s why young Nika had gone to China, despite not knowing a lick of Mandarin, asked someone who knew English to direct her to the strongest they had, and to that particular individual the strongest was Baji Quan. She had been directed to a master, and he had immediately floored her Savate, not unlike now.

… No, not like now. After what her master had done to her, she hadn’t been able to stand. Heh, it was somewhat nostalgic, this feeling. Reminded of many hours with a master who didn't speak her language, of having the movements hit into her by demonstration without any spoken words. … She had never been able to overcome that master. She’d been targeted while still training in China, and that’s when she lost her limbs. Then she gained these metal limbs, and she had never seen her master again. … She probably should go visit him occasionally. He may be disappointed in how she’d ended up, but if it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t have been able to use this chi today. She’d only have had her Savate…

‘Okichitaw, huh?’ Naja mentioned, turning back to face Pacho. His use of tomahawk and mention of the cardinal directions had tipped the scale. ‘A proud style, one I wouldn’t have expected to see serving the likes of a common street gang. Should I ask who you all are, or why you’re serving them?’ Naja asked, not really expecting an answer from Pacho. Honestly, it was just a style she had read about a while ago, one of many styles she’d gone through as candidates for her to practice. It wasn’t as if she knew the in and outs of it well enough to predict his movements. Regardless. If Pacho did speak a response, she’d wait for him to finish. Otherwise… it was time to move. While she felt the place she'd been hit, it wasn't as if she was out for the count.

Savate was out. Pacho had in a single motion shut down everything she had at that range. With other words, it was time to practice some Baji Quan, which philosophy about defense was that the solution to not taking damage was taking out the opponent as quickly as possible. A short-range but powerful art, it utilized all those grapples to get close to the opponent and then used these full-body powerful strikes, elbows or knees to neutralize them. It was time to show that she hadn’t wasted her master’s time.

Naja ran at Pacho, her mind constantly predicting what motions he could make with that pose in order to strike at her with mystical unseen weapons or similar. The intention was to intercept his blow, dodge the attack and grab the offending (or unoffending if he didn’t try to attack) limb, after which she’d attempt to use cyborg strength to twist his arm around to turn him away from her. Should she accomplish that much, it was simply a matter of spinning to slam an elbow into his back with the other arm for the trouble.

She was charging a Bolstered Spear during this, so if she was successful she could spin around and shoot him in the back with it… or if something went horribly wrong and she was about to be countered again she had it ready to use as a blast to counter whatever Pacho was doing, hopefully.

‘Old man,’ Chatot repeated from the beginning of Joshua’s speech.

‘Hm?’ Roderick came to a stop as Joshua decided to stand in his way. The old man made a dramatic gesture of bending his head back and placing a hand before his eyes. ‘Ack, that is such a shame!’

‘Such a shame!’ … Copied the Chatot.

‘That you be so taken by such prejudices and simply assume that we’re some form of crooks! I had hoped better of you, but alas,’ he removed his hand and looked back towards Joshua with a seemingly friendly but sad smile. ‘You seem to not be from around here, so let me tell you. Team Virtue is an upstanding organization following a set of instructions passed along from our ancestors about all the dangers of this land, some too dangerous to let the public know about. We were operating from the shadows under no name, until the havoc brought by Team Amethyst forced us into the light due to the necessity to recruit an army to counter them. One of these threats await us within the tomb…’ … and he shook his head a bit.

‘… And I’m afraid any regular trainer will not be able to calm him. Each second you delay us, you’re letting him regain his strength. Should he get out, he’ll spread fear and horror throughout the land once more, and it’s simply not something we’re willing to risk. We will seal him back. Perhaps we will look into a more permanent solution after we are done, but for now… You will not stand in our way.’

Will not!’ … Repeated the Chatot.

‘Ivory! Oscar! Seek alternative methods of entrance! Dig your way through if you so need to! Oscar, don’t forget that this all hinges on you! Take groups 2 through 5 with you!’ Roderick said. Behind him, the majority of the troops started moving out to stand behind Ivory and Oscar. Ivory frowned.

‘And leave you here alone?’ Ivory asked, looking unconvinced. Roderick gave but a smirk.

‘This man has the strength of an Elite Four member. Do not underestimate him. Out of our forces, only I can take him on,’ Roderick said.

‘I can take him on!’ … The Chatot called in Roderick’s voice, enthusiastically.

‘Don’t forget our mission,’ Roderick told them.

‘Hmpf, understood,’ Ivory acknowledged, turning to the forces and addressing them. ‘This way!’

‘Alas, the whims of fate has called to conflict…’ Oscar told, one hand reaching up to stroke the Pokéball in the tip of his staff. ‘We shall make our way to where we’re needed. St. Roderick, I wish you the best of luck,’

Roderick nodded to his companions, then took out a number of Pokéballs. ‘Now, are we going to have a battle following the rules of engagement or are you going to stand in that corner blocking me with all your Pokémon at once?’ With that, Roderick dropped numerous Pokéballs, from which emerged…

So, three Pokémon took shape, to engage with Joshua’s Pokémon.

‘So, let us dance, shall we?’

Team Virtue Leader Roderick would like to battle!

… And I am also 100% feeling like this epic battle can take place off-screen, because this is extra effort and would take forever to play out, but heh.

Amelia’s “father” flinched when suddenly a bunch of ghost-Pokémon emerged. He looked on somewhat stunned as Litwick called a wall of flames to surround him, and then grunted as the rest stood to her defense. Then, Amelia attempted to think, to convey her thoughts to the entity that was creating this, the being that was…

‘Why, you…’ her father said, frowning and gripping the chains. ‘IT’S NOT IN YOUR PLACE TO SPEAK TO ME!’ he shouted out, using her father’s voice as she remembered it, when suddenly a wave of energy shot out from him and scattered the flames. The blast sent Litwick back to Amelia due to the sheer power of it, all the furniture in the room rocking as thoughts dark as the blackest night sky surged through the room. Amelia’s father had just used Dark Pulse to blast through Fire Spin. He looked to her, frowning.

‘… Stay asleep, Amelia,’ he told her. ‘Be a good girl and sleep. Have a nightmare, so I may feed on it. I need your energy before I need your comfort. Whatever you try, it’s too late. She is already here. My captor is here to seal me away again.’ With those words, he snapped his fingers. With that, numerous beings flashed into existence behind him, punctuated with a flash of lightning outside the window. Behind him, numerous gemstones floated in the air… eyes. With grins under them.

Pokédex Entry #302 – Sableye, the Darkness Pokémon. They live quiet lives in dark caves where they dig for their favorite food, raw gems. These gems surface on their eyes as glittering jewels. They tend to be feared, for it is said that those who meet with these glittering eyes in a dark cave have their spirits stolen away.

The shadowy creatures jumped forth, aiming numerous Astonishes at Amelia’s frontline. Four of them, so one on Phantump, Drifloon, Pumpkaboo and Litwick respectively, with Shuppet occupied eating Amelia’s fear.

‘Stay asleep, Amelia,’ he repeated again, reaching the hand with chains forward towards her, and advanced again. ‘It’s the best thing you can do to help me. I worry too much about you. The best thing you could do would be nothing at all.’

… So he says.

Actions?

Keep in mind, this is a dream. The capabilities of your Pokémon is not necessarily tied to their level!

Aegislash slowed down when Dawkin stated his no-nonsense defense and Greninja also spoke to their defense, outlining the situation before dashing off.

‘Aegislash,’ Aegislash stated.

‘I was hasty. You appear to speak the truth. Very well. I shall rouse the rest of the ghost of this tomb to assist in our defense,’ so Aegislash said, before turning to Gengar and Cofagrigus, and…

And so, for the moment, Aegislash, his boy, the Golurks, Cofagrigus and Gengar left to gather forces for a possible Team Virtue invasion from other directions. This left Dawkin in place, with a couple of Yamasks floating about inspecting him and the sleeping Amelia. There’s a certain chance she was making a mildly troubled expression in her sleep, though her player can veto that if she likes.

That’s when the child by the doorway came out and approached Dawkin, her expression neutral and her hands behind her back.

‘It would appear you’ve been left alone,’ the girl said, looking at Dawkin. She looked down at Amelia. ‘I was put to sleep as well, so I got the chance to speak with this master. “Speak” is a frivolous term, more like attempt making sense of the mess he was shouting at me. However, I was given a vision and he then woke me up. Do you fight for him, now?’ So she asked, tilting her head slightly at him.

‘If you’d like to help stop this battle, I leave you two possible options. The whole reason this turning so violent is because the master’s rival seeks to seal or destroy him. She’s in a Pokéball, tied to the spire of one of the invaders. Steal the Pokéball and talk to the entity within. Should you do that, you can avert the whole situation. I warn, the man holding it is strong enough to contend in the Pokémon League. The situation might go better if you collect a certain mystic item from the Mythic Oasis, which will make her kinder towards you… but even with my friend’s help, that could take far too long. Still, you can borrow my friend if you’d like to try it. He can’t fight, but he CAN transport you.’ So she said, taking out a Pokéball and letting out the contents. Next to her formed a yellow mildly fox-like humanoid creature with lines for eyes, which may or may not be asleep.

Pokédex Entry #63 – Abra, the Psi Pokémon. Due to the strain of Psychic powers, it needs to sleep for 18 hours a day. However, even asleep it can use its powers, which reads the minds of beings close-by and teleports instinctively if it finds someone hostile. Someone wishing to catch an Abra must clear their mind as they approach.

‘The second option is to actually go to the master’s chamber. From there, we can see what we can do to help. He’d be able to hear you from there, so if you think something you could say could help, then that would be the place to do so. He’s still being weakened by something, which is why he needs to gain power from sleeping people, so we could try to find what that is and do something about it, potentially. That, and that’s also a place to mount the last defense if the master is attacked by something. Though, there’s also a chance the master may attack you for intruding. Maybe. I’m out of Pokémon, other than my friend here. I can’t do much. What will you do? I could look after your friend. Or you could carry her along. Or I could. She probably needs to stay close to the master to keep contact with him, though.’

And that was a whole bunch of words. But, yes, he’s now in a tomb that was about to end up under siege and who knows what’d happen beyond that. What would Dawkin do?
Out of all of them, it was Sam who stood up behind her and did a similar pose to that of her own, just much larger, her in his shadow. Naja blew out a bit out of her nose. This amused her, just a tad. Still, it appeared it was her and Sam. No words needed to be exchanged, they knew what to do. Honestly, she looked forward to experiencing fighting side by side with this giant man.

Hm, so their enemies were going to pick their opponents? Questionable, but alright. Suppose she could play along. Naja frowned a bit as Pacho picked her. Did he do so because he was interested in fighting her, or just because he didn’t want to fight Sam? … Suppose it didn’t make much of a difference. Starting to lightly jump on her heavy metal feet, Naja turned to him in a fighting stance of her own, turned with her left towards him, both hands raised and legs ready to lash out.

‘…’ She could have talked, really. Most assuredly would have if she was facing O-Chul. But this man, as Naja inspected his odd stance and silent persona… suppose they’d do their talking with their limbs. This man held his limbs like if he held a weapon. Naja knew enough to figure she should probably treat him like he actually was. Now, Naja had plenty of grappling techniques from baji quan to neutralize an opponent coming for her with a weapon, but until she knew what he’d do she’d go with the more long-ranged savate style.

To begin with, let’s box his hand. Naja approached from the front and boxed forward at the hand. If he was starting to counter, then she’d be pulling back or attempt countering herself with her grapples. If he started guarding then it was time for another punch at his face and then for a swift kick to his midsection with her left leg while she stood on her right. If he did something unexpected, then she’d deal with it then. It all depended on his reactions.

That stance, not to mention how he looked… hm…
@Dusksong

Laurinda looked at Eryn, soft in her look, then looked off through the trees.

‘So the rumors of ghosts have spread. This is unfortunate. I will be forced to save more children going out into these woods for foolish reasons during night-time to look for these fabled spirits. … Most unfortunate. Delphox, I’ll be counting on you, to see them before they get hurt,’ Laurinda said, as she turned to look towards her partner.

‘Delphox…’ the Pokémon sounded out, sounding like it was a bit of a pain, but acknowledged nonetheless. Delphox gave Eryn a mildly curious stare for a moment, then looked back into the flame.

‘Now, then,’ Laurinda said, turning back towards Eryn. ‘I'll have to insist you leave these woods now. They are too dangerous this time of night. I'd rather not be used as a safety net for young trainers intentionally throwing themselves into reckless danger intending me to catch them,’ she told in a serious tone. ‘I'll escort you back to-’

‘Delphox,’ Delphox suddenly stated, her tone sharp, pointing her wand in a direction. Laurinda looked back at her with regret.

‘Another one…? … I suppose there's no helping it, then,’ Laurinda told, taking out a Pokéball and opening it before Eryn. Before her a floating, living chandelier took shape.

‘Chandelure!’

Pokédex Entry #609 – Chandelure, the Luring Pokémon. They’re known to hypnotize opponents using their dancing flames. It absorbs spirits, which it then burns in its fires. Its fire burn the spirit rather than the body, so a physical body left behind by its flames is entirely untouched despite the damage.

‘I'll let you at least see a ghost for your troubles. Mine, that is,’ Laurinda told Eryn, before turning to Chandelure. ‘Escort Eryn here back to Outer Infested Woods, and then return home. Understood?’

‘Chan~!’ Chandelure replied.

‘With that, I need to save another hapless young wanderer…’ Laurinda commented, but that was…

‘Del,’ Delphox said with a warning tone, looking to Laurinda, who looked back with a more serious expression.

‘No. You’re saying they are…’ Laurinda asked, and Delphox nodded. ‘Hm. Eryn, you best be on your way. I have something I need to see through. Good luck on your journey, may we meet again when you're better prepared.’ With those words, Laurinda turned to sprint through the wood in the direction Delphox had pointed, leaving Eryn with Chandelure, and…

Delphox stopped next to her and all her Pokémon. Delphox turned and gave Eryn’s Pokémon a bit of a fox-like grin.

‘Del, delphox,’ Delphox said.

‘Ch-chan!?’ Chandelure exclaimed, startled.

‘Delphox, phox,’ Delphox said with a shrug, and then ran on after Laurinda.

‘D-delure...’ Chandelure replied, looking unsure.

And to translate for Eryn’s Pokémon…

‘The ghost-Pokémon are beyond Inner Infested Woods. You’ll be fine if Chandelure looks after you,’ Delphox instructed to Eryn’s Pokémon.

‘Wh-what!?’ Chandelure asked, clearly alarmed.

‘I can keep a secret if you can,’ Delphox told Chandelure, before running off.

‘I-I’m not sure about that...’ Chandelure replied, obviously not as comfortable disobeying his trainer.

Eryn’s… and Eryn’s Pokémon’s reactions?

After a visit to the Pokémon Center and then a return, Erza went training with his Pokémon. None of the targets here had much to threaten with. Zigzagoon having Tackle, Growl, Tail Whip and possibly Sand Attack. Budew had Absorb and Growth. Pidove had Gust and Growl. For Extraordinary, the raccoons couldn't even damage her as she slowly Night Shaded them to defeat. Eevee, meanwhile, was capable enough to handle his training on his own with Adaptation and more.

Eevee grew to Level 10! Eevee learned Baby-doll Eyes! Eevee learned Swift!

Extraordinary grew to Level 9! Extraordinary learned Disable! Extraordinary learned Astonish!

They both took some damage. Extraordinary didn’t train just against Zigzagoons, we’ll say.

And now?

Lea watched blankly as Kimble responded favourably to her suggestion and took off. Hm, she did have some manner of skill, making this a bit easier. It almost made her wonder. Would she benefit from adopting a cat? Having a sidekick that was hers and only hers, that she actually could trust her back to, it would be nice. The way Mariette had Eli…

She took out a phone and called a number while slicing another tornado. She immediately started talking when she heard the phone be answered.

‘How much can you get from within the smoke of the graveyard?’ Lea asked. She then listened to the reply. ‘Is there a chance they used it specifically to cloud them from you?’ Lea continued. The reply only made her frown. ‘Hmpf. I sent in Mayra, as she’s the one of us that best suits surviving in unknown circumstances. Hopefully she’ll be able to give us detailed reports.’ Regardless, next point.

‘I just introduced myself as Frida Merkel. Remember it for me,’ Lea told the one on the other end while cutting another tornado with a blast of wind. ‘… You’re as impressive as always. There’s one more thing you can tell me. Who is Kimble?’

_______________

‘Hahahahaha!’ Mayra laughed as Emily was knocked back into Alexander, looking really happy. The “I’m not mad, just disappointed” look didn’t seem to affect her particularly. That’s, however, when Tonya decided to take it up a notch and decided to make it rain spiders on them.

‘Woah!’ Mayra jumped back and blasted a wave of fire around her to clean out the initial infestation around her, somewhat wide-eyed as she looked. ‘Woooo, enough spiders that I’m wondering if you kidnapped Ronja! Hahaha! Guess I should take you seriously!’ Mayra said, grinning at the girl undergoing her transformation. Orbs of fire started taking shape around Mayra, and she grinned in Lucifer’s direction…

‘I really, REALLY want to fight you! … But I suppose I was really sent here to beat up horrors, so I guess that can wait a bit!’ then she turned to look at a grin up at Tonya. ‘You’re not the only one who can summon monsters!’

With those words, little floating creatures emerged from the orbs of fire around Mayra. Their outer shells held together shoulders, arms and a horned head, but their insides burned in nothing but fire, and they were channeling this fire to bear on Mayra’s enemies. Each was only around a meter to a meter and a half in height, but floated with a stream of fire jetted down. The orbs vanished quickly after the creatures had emerged.

‘Alright, let’s do some exterminating~!’ Mayra called, and then she and her minions alike charged into the field of spiders, blasting fire in sweeping motions to eradicate the spiders and shooting up at the source if they could spare the time. The minions fought by throwing the fire in their hands as little fireballs but also by swinging fiery first with reasonable competence and being composed of fire. Of course, Mayra was way more capable than the numerous minions she had summoned, but the numbers helped in the war against the rain of spiders that was coming down upon them. The spiders of course still had the numerical advantage, but Mayra did what she could to sway the tide.

Eevee tackled past the different Blitzles at the shiny one, and hit for a considerable amount of damage, the shiny Blitzle recoiling from the blow. It appeared that the shiny Blitzle was on the lower spectrum of the level chart, and as such took more than half health from Eevee’s powered-up Tackle. Then Extraordinary Night Shaded it again, and the Blitzle was reduced to almost nothing. Erza cast the Pokéball as Eevee was struck by multiple Quick Attacks in return, causing him to faint. However, Erza’s Pokéball curved towards the target in the air and hit, absorbing the Blitzle into it with a red shine before falling onto the ground.

It rolled once. It rolled twice. It rolled thrice.

The guy smirked a bit at Valen’s reply. ‘Good. I promise we’ll discover some interesting things together. Who knows? After we’re done, maybe we’ll have a job offer for you,’ the guy said, while standing up straight again and holding a neutral expression. … Then Qwerty shot her Psybeam, Growlithe perceived it but was unable to get out of the way in time, and was hit… though not for as much damage as it would have had the two Pokémon been of equal level. Growlithe and the boy both gave Valen a serious evil eye.

‘Well, then,’

Team Amethyst Grunt Allan wants to battle!

‘Growlithe, Bite!’ Allan commanded, and Growlithe immediately skipped into combat, being considerably faster than Qwerty. Unless desperate measures were taken there likely wasn’t a way for her to escape being bitten for noteworthy damage, barely maintaining herself from being flinched. They were in close combat now, it’d be harder to land a Psybeam at this range unless Growlithe was taken by surprise.

‘I didn’t entirely follow what was going on…’ the girl was mentioning as she walked out next to Allan, Pokéball in hand. ‘But I’ll support!’

Though, that’s when…

Skylar came in and talked about peace by the shrines, holding up his Pokédex. The two suited individuals gave him a glance…

‘Hey, that’s a Pokédex. Given to only a handful of young trainers by Pokémon professors, quite the prized piece of technology…’ the girl mentioned.

‘I’ll leave it to you, then,’ Allan said, and the girl gave a smirk. With that, she threw her Pokéball down between her and Skylar, a blue duck emerging from within.

‘Ducklett!’ the duck announced.

Pokédex Entry #580 – Ducklett, the Water Bird Pokémon. These birds are far better swimmers than they are flyers, and make excellent divers. When attacked, it defends itself by splashing water at the offender. Their favorite food is peat moss, and they’ll be found chewing on it constantly.

‘If you don’t like us fighting by shrines, then how about you fight us off?’ the girl said confidently, crossing her arms and looking at Skylar.

Team Amethyst Grunt Mia wants to-

'HOLD IT!' Vivia took a step forward and placed herself in the way in-between Skylar and Mia. She threw a look back at Skylar, with a bit of a frown. 'Your Pokémon are still hurt from the battle with Earl, right? So,' she turned to face Mia. 'I’ll handle you!'

‘Hmpf, handle me? I’ll handle any number of you!’ Mia boasted back, frowning in turn.

'We’ll see!' Vivia boasted right back, before grabbing for a Pokéball, and… 'Rotom, go get-'

Rotom is off pestering the owner of and stealing from the souvenir shop.

'Venonat, go get her!' Vivia commanded, and sent out Venonat, who jumped out confidently.

‘Venonat!’

Pokédex Entry #48 – Venonat, the Insect Pokémon. Its many small eyes function like radars and detect insects at night which it eats. A coat of thin, stiff hair that oozes poison covers its body for protection. Its eyes are capable of shooting beams and enable psychic powers. It's attracted to light.

On account of that Valen is also seeing Venonat now, Venonat Pokédex

Now, Skylar can totally be like “I can handle this anyway” and not let Vivia defend him, but that’s 100% up to him. His actions now is his own. And Valen also saw that part happen, but of course, he’s attacked by a Growlithe, too.

Valen and Skylar’s actions?

Streets of Denver

Wisp stumbled when the ground rocked beneath her feet from Behemoth's roar. A nearby woman stabilized her, and looking towards her she briefly thought she had been caught by Alexandria before realising it most assuredly wasn't, though the costume heavily reminded of the Triumvirate. Regardless, Wisp nodded her thanks and made her way to join S&R.

‘You, you're Wisp, right?’ Inkscape suddenly asked her, when she had been hanging back for some time.

‘Y-yes!’ Wisp stammered. ‘I shoot light, see in all directions, create small illusions of light unlikely to fool Behemoth…’ she rambled on, unaware how much to say.

‘It'd make us happy if you could talk to us more directly after this, the Protectorate exists to help,’ the octopus case 53 told her, and Wisp recoiled somewhat. This was the Protectorate member she had been the most afraid of, being found while invisible and suddenly tied by his ink… and he was speaking to her so kindly. Wisp was so happy she hadn't come as Creep.

‘Alright, be our scout! I'll assign you a flyer, so head for the brink of damaged areas, use that perfect sight of yours to find people in need of help and report their locations!’ Inkscape told her, and Wisp blinked in surprise. Surely, flyers had better things to do than carrying HER around!?

Regardless, a flier flew close and landed beside her. A young boy, her age, dark costume, who gave her a smile. ‘Hi, I'm Persist! I'm a bit of an Alexandria package, though not take-on-Behemoth level. I'm gonna move debris and save people, and occasionally take you along for the ride!’

Wisp nodded to him, and also got told to be in contact with Hellbent, another Brute that was in charge of a bunch of rescuers. That was fine. ‘I'm a villain, though, you don't mind?’ Persist told her. Wisp was suddenly somewhat more worried about being carried by him, but shook her head.

‘It doesn't matter. Take me around,’ Wisp said. Persist grabbed her and flew, still under the height of the buildings until they reached the area of devastation. … It was horrible. As the one person who had to take in it all, to look over every detail to see who could be saved and who was already dead, Wisp couldn't close her eyes. Soon enough…

‘There!’ She said, while directing small arrows of light for Persist to see. Wisp took out her communicator. ‘Three injured capes needing serious medical attention found in-’ and then she used some street names only someone who knew Denver would know.

‘Where is that?’ Hellbent asked on the other side.

‘A-at the ray of light!’ Wisp replied instinctively, reaching into her pocket and lighting her powerful flashlight, directing it all up in the sky as a focused spotlight with her power, and if that wouldn't actually be visible she could use the green laser-pointer instead.

‘I see it. Sending rescuers,’ Hellbent said, and Wisp breathed out in relief.

This continued, Wisp carried around and pointing the way for other capes. Numerous times Persist was needed elsewhere and Wisp proceeded on foot for a while, but then he came back. On this journey, she saw many things she'd never have wanted to see. So many dead people that she couldn't help. It was heartwrenching. In the distance, she could occasionally see Behemoth, fighting light beasts and beams and other strong capes. How she regretted that she couldn't count herself among their number.

… Wisp glimpsed Behemoth's eye for just a moment. The eye… Wisp's usual primary target to blind an opponent. There, uh… was no way Behemoth would be blinded if she shot enough light at that, right? No way Legend or other capes hadn't already tried shooting that to see if it was a weak point. Trying to shoot that herself would be reckless, stupid and her time was better spent S&Ring…

Then communications briefly went down. Wisp still announced injured people by flashing light into the sky, somewhat worried Behemoth would get interested by the lights and come her way, but she continued. Then she wondered why communications would go down, and…

And she came around a corner, currently on foot, in time to see the PRT building being struck with a bolt of lightning. In horror she identified Salem, far too close to Behemoth for comfort. Then… Inkscape attacked. Wisp found herself in his path as he went through, draining her costume of white pigment before she could react. She looked on in shock as Inkscape pounded on Behemoth… before finally being bursted, his life ending. There too she saw Salem hit by debris, her insides wavering at the sight.

Wisp had seen all this… by using her powers to look around a corner, from relative safety.

Inkscape was the respected leader of the local Protectorate, whom she had hoped to one day serve under and dreaded meeting during her days as a villain, and had also just shown her kindness. Somehow, she’d always trusted him to keep Denver safe, no matter what happened. She hadn't known him, but she had looked up to him. Salem was her dear friend who had accepted to join her in villainy and capedom despite all it meant for his life, standing solidly though awkwardly at her side, who she'd feel eternally guilty about thrusting into this. She knew him, oh, so personally. Perhaps, one day, she could imagine to even be willing to…

As far as she knew, they were both likely dead at the hands of Behemoth. Wisp made her decision.

So what if Wisp's light probably wouldn't bother him!? WHAT IF her beams of light actually had the property that they blinded the people she hit in all dimensions at once or something similarly dumb, and that somehow allows her to blind Behemoth when nobody else could, and she just didn't know!? What then, huh!? She could have the perfect weapon against him, and just not know it! She had to at least TRY!

Wisp ran across streets to get in front of Behemoth. She lit all her laser pointers and flashlight in her pockets, directing their light to swirl around her. She still reported wounded where she could, shooting some rays of light into the air above, starting with Salem and others hurt on the scene. However, her goal was now separate. As she ran, others only saw a ball of darkness running because Wisp was letting no light out of her range for them to see. It was her ammunition, only the barest minimum was sent to her eyes so she could still see around her and detect wounded. She was going to shoot Behemoth.

Finally, she arrived. She was, on a fair amount of distance, in front of Behemoth. Swirling around her was an unseen massive beam of light, which Wisp was honestly struggling to control, more laser and light joining by the second. She'd never show herself directly to Behemoth, using her power to take aim past a corner, but the time had come. Wisp swallowed.

‘Alright. Showtime, you oversized lightning-controlling piece of-’

All the light, all the lasers and all the energy currently at Wisp's disposal focused into a single point within her range, swirling around her. She bent the directions of all the light, taxing her Thinker-power to the absolute max so that all the photons or whatever swirling around her converged into a single supercondensed point of lasers and light…!

‘Take this-!’

She sent the created point forth past the corner as a single burst at Behemoth. No enduring beam, just a single blast focused to be as powerful as Wisp could possibly make it, shot at lightspeed straight into Behemoth's eye. For an instant, Behemoth's eye lit up brightly enough to momentarily blind as Wisp's super-laser burst hit, a burst powerful enough to burn any eye slamming into Behemoth for an instant…

Behemoth didn't even flinch.

Wisp took a moment.

Then she ran.

Lea occupied herself, flying across the sky from tornado to tornado, calming the winds and countering the numerous destructive weather phenomenon. However, she had to put a lot of mana into this. If they were just going to recreate themselves over and over and over, then Lea would eventually run out of mana. Hmpf, she’d consider that issue when the time came…

And then she found herself talked to. By some cat-girl, who had absolutely no idea who she was. Lea gave her an extremely neutral look, trying to figure out what on earth she was being talked to for.

The first instinct was to outright dismiss her. She had no reason to associate with the citizens of Penrose. However, the second thought told her that making enemies was somewhat undesirable. That said, she had no reason to give information about herself to this girl. As such…

‘I am Frida Merkel, protective spirit,’ Lea lied. That she was a protective spirit was not entirely a lie, but it was misleading. ‘Can I count on you to handle the other side, and I handle this side? … This would be easier if there was more of us, but we’ll do for a while,’ Lea said, then shooting off another wave of wind to counter the winds of a nearby tornado, because she surely wouldn’t stop fighting just because this cat-girl engaged her in conversation.

_______________

Sooo… There was this giant blob and its minions that the other two were fighting, and there was the barrier-generating wild guy over there and this fire-producing woman here. There was also someone screaming in the distance, and the power of someone’s aura spreading through the graveyard. Overall, supremely pleasant.

The girl told Mayra to attack the blob. But, was that fun? That didn’t seem fun. It didn’t have any personality, not to mention that was just going with the flow. What was a more fun option? A grin appeared on Mayra’s face as she imagined the face of this girl if she were to be betrayed. It looked so sweet.

Lucifer ran ahead of her, turning part of her back towards the monster girl. As she fired her fireball, Mayra got on all four limbs in preparation to pounce, tail swinging lightly in preparation. Then, she shot forward, charging one of her claws full of fire as she swiped towards the girl’s back…

‘CHA…!’ Her claws swung through the air inches to the left of Lucifer’s waist as Mayra appeared on her side and sent a blast of fire to join Lucifer’s, soaring off towards the blob with added fiery firepower. The fire magic of the monster girl wasn’t as powerful as Lucifer’s, but it was still pretty strong and she could certainly tell Mayra’s limbs were stronger and faster than her own to compensate. Side by side, the fire girls most assuredly looked more powerful.

… And then Mayra’s right leg flew up to kick Lucifer in the back, the intent being to send her flying at Alexander. If she missed, then Mayra spun in place counter-clockwise, continuing with numerous quick swings of her flaming claws and legs as well as the snap of her tail that all came from Lucifer’s left. Each of them blasted a fiery burst of fire that was sent directly to the blob as they passed Lucifer. That is, for each swing Lucifer managed to dodge, Mayra shot another fireball into the blob.

Mayra grinned. She couldn’t help it. She just HAD to cause some chaos~!
