Bio

Welcome to my Bio, random person. Yeah, my name is pretty redundant (Polaris - North Star, North... well north.)

Things you need to know about me?

I live in the Philippines. I'm a student and life gets a bit hectic so please understand if I suddenly become more sporadic when it comes to replies.

I'm involved in a lot of fandoms (mostly anime) and as long as it gets my interest, I'll join. My range is from free to casual [or well, as long as I can get it from the post I'm replying to]. I'm more of a fantasy kid than a slice of life but I think I can join something like that. I'm not much of a romance writer so I keep myself to PG-13 and not exceed anything else.

Shavis let out a hum. It was true that maybe seeking info from Naomi would benefit them. A bit more information with what they're dealing with would help them in the long run. "I'm not opposed to staying a while longer to gather more information. I'd also like to avoid harming them as much as possible." She was glad that everyone seemed to be of the same mind when it came to this mission. Find the source of the problem as soon as possible and minimize collateral. Though she supposed mixing a couple of Galdr users and Beluas would lead to the party being more animal and environmentally friendly.

"We'll be counting on you then, Tilnak. I grew up in the forest too but I'm not as familiar with marshes." She sheepishly admitted. She gave a nod when the insect Belua excused himself. Shavis understood now why he was a person of very few words, it would seem that he simply wasn't used to talking.

She turned to Lapis once she started talking about the Makaras, seemingly leaving the previous topic behind. Shavis listened intently to the explanation. So, it really was odd that the Makaras were attacking settlements. Were they being driven out of their territory by something much more dangerous, then?

"Considering we're gonna try to avoid them, I do hope we don't have to go against them. I doubt my lightning would be as effective as it usually is on these guys." Maybe Asterope did have the right idea of not joining her on this quest. Still, this did mean that Shavis would rely more on her physical prowess alongside the usage of spirits. It would be an interesting match up for sure. She tilted her head over to where Tilank was going to where she assumed would be Naomi. "Well, Tilnak's on his way to gather information I think."

"Oh, I'm a Galdr and Lightning Elementalist mage, by the way." Shavvis said after a moment. "I'm usually a close up and personal kind of fighter. Figured we should at least know a semblance of our capabilities so we won't like... accidentally hit each other on the field and look incompetent." The latter was made in a lighter, joking time accompanied by a grin on her face.

Scarlett was never one to hold back her punches or her words and she certainly didn't decide to start then as she cut through two of their superiors and one of their teammates with her judgment. Still, Shavis said nothing but curiously regarded her companion. She would be coming with them to the Marsh mission— others included Tilnak and Hector who seemed to be men of few words. Who knows, maybe they would bond over that.

She turned to Asterope, lifting one shoulder as a shrug. "Dunno. She's usually quiet when we're together." She admitted. The Magus Association was big and the only reason they became acquainted was that someone needed to make sure she had some semblance of care every now and then. Any interaction outside of herself was something Shavis had never seen. "Someday, I'll drag you somewhere down and dirty, princess, and you will enjoy it." Shavis snickered. Her parting words definitely landed with Shavis. Her smile softened as she patted Asterope's shoulder. "Take care too. I'll see you later."

Lapis, however, doubled down when she approached. Shavis raised her hands, giving a shrug. "I don't know. She's just a very straightforward person, I suppose, and not afraid to speak her mind." She lowered her hands, pressing them into the pockets of her coat. "And it doesn't look like your brother is too bothered by it." She said as she turned to Reucian who did have a response but Scarlett had simply left. "I can try to talk to Scarlett about it but I doubt I can wrangle an apology out of her for Evelyn." In fact, Shavis doubted Scarlett would let her go easily if she even tried.

"Now we can keep talking about this here or we can get a headstart with preparing for the excursion." She turned to Tilnak and Hector, tilting her head with a questioning gaze. "Anything you guys want to handle first before we leave? Scarlett's off to get some information I imagine."

Shavis listened intently to the response to her and Hector's questions. Well, that worked for her. She did look forward to working with a couple of the other magus even if some of them looked like they would really rather be alone than with everyone else. For a moment, she took a glance at Scarlett and Asterope. She wondered what missions they would take now that Arteus had shown them the missions. If she was going to be honest, the four star mission did seem like it was interesting and the idea of fighting a lot of monsters sounded like it would be so much fun. After all, she became a Reaver specifically for fighting.

Still, it seemed like there were a lot of them who were interested in Necropolis. She wouldn't want to clutter up the roster for it. It sounded dangerous but she was sure that her current companions were powerful enough for that particular mission. The next time something like this pops up, Shavis made a note in her mind to simply take up the next one.

However, the two star mission was more investigation about magical creatures and she had always been weak to doing research and helping out creatures whenever she could. Maybe it's because she was a Belua, maybe it's because she mostly grew up in a forest where magical creatures were abundant, or maybe it's because she's a Galdr magus. Whichever the case, the quest called out to her more than the magitech one. Lapis had also decided to take up that particular quest.

"I honestly might go for Croc Crush. Something's disturbing the Makara and it might be some bigger fish that's causing the problem. Might be exciting." She turned to Lapis, giving her a thumbs up and a wide grin. Always good to make friends with practitioners of the same craft; it's a learning opportunity for everyone involved.

Shavis then looked over to Scarlett and Asterope, curious about what they thought of the situation and where they would go for among the quests. She was just responsible for Scarlett getting to the Tower. She would be fine especially if she was going forth to tackle something that was combat-oriented. Scarlett was a lot more combat capable than Shavis was. Asterope, on the other hand, had such a mastery over lightning elementalism that Shavis wasn't even worried about her either.

"Good luck on whatever mission you choose guys. If you're choosing something else, you have got to tell me all about it." She gave them both an encouraging smile before walking over to Lapis.

"Pleasure to be working with you, Lapis. We probably won't be seeing a lot of action but it'll be a good team building exercise." Shavis said with an easy grin as she settled beside the younger magus. Now that she really looked at them, both Lapis and Evelyn were so much younger than everyone else. Sure, they were recent graduates but the fact that they were accepted as Reavers spoke about, at the very least, their potential. "First time out of the city or not?" She asked, genuinely curious.

Shavis hadn't traveled as much as she would have wished to after she had left the Great Ithaca Forest. This would be a great opportunity to finally see the sights of the world. Something to do other than the job.

A couple of people had arrived, most introducing themselves and others seemingly keep away from the group. Well, Shavis wasn't going to judge them. She responded in kind to the others, greeting them with a smile. They had quite an assortment of characters among them and it seemed like everyone really was combat capable and some seemed to even lean towards physical combat like she was. There was a Belua there who was more insectoid than humanoid and Shavis had to be honest, it would be the first time she had ever seen one. They mostly had humanoid-leaning Beluas back in her tribe after all.

Her ears visibly perked up at the familiar sound of someone calling out to her. She looked over, a grin on her face, as Asterope made herself known. Before she could finish her statement or Shavis could even make a move to hug the older girl, Scarlett suddenly bolted from her position and started to climb the Tower.

"Scarlett no—! and she's gone." Shavis looked back at Asterope with a bashful smile. "Seems I have. Good thing the Association won't get on my ass this time." She gave a nod to Asterope when she stated that they could just catch up later when they had more time to themselves.

She turned towards Lanus, giving him a small shrug. "I never know what's going on in her head..." She paused, looking back up for a moment. "Probably thought the sunlight feels good up there."

Another familiar appeared, a green hawk, came up and grabbed Scarlett from the Tower and another woman had made their presence known. The hawk ended up placing Scarlett back to her and she gave the woman an apologetic smile. "Yeah, I figured as much. Thank you for getting her, I don't think I could." Well, technically, Shavis was pretty confident that Shadar could likely scale it and grab Scarlett but she wasn't sure if that would have been allowed. Roze. She seemed really cool.

"Come on Scarlett, maybe you can take a nap somewhere else." Shavis said, almost soothingly towards her companion, and reached down to pat her on the shoulder. With that, she would attempt to help her up to her feet.

Another Belua exited from the Tower who was apparently Lapis's older brother who was apparently their combat instructor. It looked like she would be seeing more of Ruecian eventually. Really, there was nothing good about having expectations of other people based on their appearance. He might have been smaller than most of them but he certainly felt like he could pack a punch— whether it was magically boosted or not.

With that, they were led back into the Tower. She fell into step with Asterope but made sure to keep her eye on Scarlett to make sure she didn't get into another set of trouble.

As they were walking in the Tower, she kept her eye out. Someone had passed by them and quite loudly admitted his disappointment of the group. She heard a low growl from Shadar and she shushed him. She forced her attention back to Asterope, lowering her voice so she can have some form of short conversation as they were walking. "If you asked me when we were younger that you would become a Reaver, I wouldn't have believed you." She placed her hands in her coat's pockets. "Glad to have you here though. I like making new friends but having a familiar face besides Scarlett here doesn't hurt."

They came upon the ornamental doors and were led inside to find one Arteus Irvin. It wasn't like he was unfamiliar to her. Even before receiving a letter from him for the Reavers, he had made an impression upon the Association... especially on Patia who wished to become a Sage. Master Irvin went on to say that there were others they could meet eventually but their amenities were what really clicked for her. Aside from the beasts and abominations that they could train with, but also the magical artifacts and creation of magitech.

"Throwing us straight into the fold huh boss?" She commented after Lanus and Renee were done. "Are we going to do this as a whole group or are we going to be split up between jobs? I don't mind working in a big group but I gotta know what to expect."

"... and remember Shavis, do take care. I do not want to get back word that you died on the field, okay?" Patia handed her the coat that they had both received upon entering the Magus Association. Patia had borrowed her coat and asked a couple of her friends to put defensive sigils on it. "I won't be able to help you but hopefully, this is enough."

Shavis smiled, taking the coat into her hands before wearing it, feeling the magic radiating off of it. "Thanks, Patia. I'll try to keep my neck attached to my body at all times." She gave her Fae friend a big hug and Patia laughed as she patted her back before they finally bid each other farewell. While the two hadn't been talking as often as before, this would mark one of the first times in many long years that there would be actual distance between them.

Still, they couldn't limit themselves for each other. Both of them wished to go to the Magus Association. While Patia was hard at work mastering all forms of magic through intense studying, Shavis was given the opportunity to pursue a possible dream of hers. Still, there was no time to dally. She had to make her way to the Eon Tower and be there on time. Shavis headed over to where they were keeping Scarlett, a mage that had gone too far into Void magic and turned her in a way no one seemed to expect. Still, Scarlett was invited to the Eon Tower as well.

"Scarlett! We're heading out!" She called out to the other mage and waited until she would appear from her room. Shavis didn't mind her all that much. Once the door opened, she gave her a small smile before gesturing for her to follow. "Excited?"

Shavis began her long walk to the Eon Tower with Scarlett, turning her eyes upward to the sky. The sun had barely peeked through the horizon when she had left, a little too excited to begin with her time as a Reaver. She felt a tug at the back of her head and she heard a growl, prodding her mind. As she walked, she summoned a miniature version of Shadar— a pocket tiger spirit if you will. He appeared on her shoulders, a low growl as he lay down, watching the streets with his keen eye.

"This... Reaver business. Your recklessness can get you killed." Shadar warned yet his body seemed to be completely relaxed.

"Isn't that why you're here to make sure I don't do that?"

Shadar's tail flicked against the back of her neck, a bit annoyed. "I'd rather you choose not to make these reckless decisions yourself instead of relying on me."

Shavis smirked to herself as she reached up to pet the familiar's head. It wasn't too long until she spotted the front of the Eon Tower. For a moment, she looked upon it. For the longest time, she simply looked over it with minimal interest. Sure, she had heard about the Reavers and she always thought they were cool but the Eon Tower just seemed like something in the background.

Now that she was standing in front of it, damn. "This tower looks so fucking old." She muttered to Scarlett, giving her a good natured chuckle as they continued to go to the meeting point.

Both of her gauntlets in their inactive forms looked more like thick gloves than actual gauntlets. She gave a wave to those already there. No one had come up to greet them yet as the appointed time hadn't come upon them and she looked over her fellow to-be-Reavers. Looked to be a fun time for all of them. Two of them had arrived from flying brooms and introduced themselves.

She gave them a wave. "Shavis, worked at the Association and now got a promotion." She responded in a much more casual tone but equally cheery before patting Shadar who eyed Hachigan and its master. "This is Shadar, my familiar. Good to see some fellow Galdr mages."
