There had been no sight of Artemis in the healing center that morning. But there had been something dreadful. Risa could only stare as she gripped Kyran's arms as the bodies of two fairies were carried out, covered in sheets. There had been no saving them.
Kyran and Risa had kept their place to the side, hiding, listening. When the names were finally spoken out loud, her heart lurched. Flower and Asher had been so very kind. She had known them from her many days in the healing center. Tears spilled down her cheeks, but she kept very still and very quiet. It was mentioned that a blue-haired woman had fled the scene, chased by dark elves, however, she escaped into the stream. Risa wondered why on earth they'd be after her, but at least she knew she had gotten away safely. Artemis must have been hoping to just meet at the port to keep the pursuit away from her. After Kyran had comforted her for a moment, they brought her back to The Pretty Flower to Vereon's home. Vereon had given practically threw himself at Kyran, hugging him and petting his head between the ears. After he had let go and given Kyran some new clothes to change into, Kyran went into another room and Risa took Vereon aside to tell him the news once it was just them.
"Not Asher... Oh please not he..." Vereon had slid down against the wall onto the floor upon hearing the news. "Oh my sweet friend."He buried his face in his hands, his body trembling, his voice full of anguish. Risa moved to his side and took his hands sadly. His head lifted up in reaction and he said fiercely to her, "Ya have to stop this, Risy. We'll all be doomed." He stood up with her and moved to the window, moving the curtain a little, "Look."
Dark elves, way more than there had ever been before, were marching down the street in formation. In the middle of the plaza was a throne of some sort. Risa squinted, the details slowly becoming more clear. "... Hands?"She whispered in disbelief. The blood was still visible on the stumps of the arms. There must have been at least a hundred of them, all put together into a horrific throne. Fairies were peeking out from windows, some coming out from the front doors of shops to watch as the long lost fairy prince Helio emerged from the parade of elves in a large, golden crown. Helio threw charming smiles at all of them, blowing kisses as if he had only been gone a day. He practically danced up to the throne with a big smile and hopped into it, kicking his feet back. He snapped his fingers and a little fairy girl emerged and began to bring a bunch of grapes one by one into his mouth by holding to over his head. "That's my grandfather's crown."She told Vereon, who was at her side.
Risa shut the curtains, her eyes narrowing.
Vereon stared at her a moment then said, "Let's get you dressed. I've arranged for an amora to come for you in about an hour from now. You can't go on it looking anything like yourself."
"Understood. Do your thing."
And that he did. Risa found herself looking in the mirror, wearing an outfit she had never quite imagined herself in, "Ohh.. The socks... This is a lot, Vereon... And it's all tighter than I'm used to. I'm more comfortable in flowy clothing."Risa plucked at the strap between her sock and shorts.
Vereon looked her up and down and whistled, "That means it's perfect...Oh Kyran, come here handsome! Yeeeerrr gonna wanna see this!"He called and then moved up to her, gently rebraiding her hair and then pushing it behind her shoulders. He pulled her hood up and then patted her head. "Now ye come with me."He took her hand with one hand and pushed at her back with the other, moving her out the back door and down the stairs. He opened the door and there stood the others from the night prior, along with Gorgon. The front door to the bar was locked and it was clearly still closed.
Then they did something that surprised Risa. They all bowed, one by one in greeting, slowly until the whole room was bowing to Risa. She raised a brow and glanced beside her. Vereon was bowing.
Risa's face flushed and she waved her hands back and forth, saying," Oh my, I'm sorry lovelies...My goal of this isn't to be queen. As long as the fairy kingdom and all everyone can live without worry of harm... That's all I want. Besides, my parents are alive as far as I know. I'd just be a princess even so."
"With all due respect, Risa. Take a look at where they are and take a look at where ye are. They're hiding somewhere and have done nothing to protect us. Then ye at yar young age..." Vereon said, making her blink, "Loyally devoted and putting ya life on the life for us. Taking on all the burden on thy shoulders when no one's asked ya too. Ye're the only queen I'll bow to."He took her hand and kissed it.
She stared in astonishment as the room nodded in agreement, still bowing to her. Risa smiled finally and curtsied back with the end of her cape.
"Gorgon has never met nice queen. Always rude to Gorgon." Gorgon interjected. "Risa kind to Gorgon. Friend when he is down. Risa good queen for little fairies. Gorgon help for Risa."
Risa moved over to touch his big hands sadly, "Gorgon you don't have to get involved in all this. Please just find a safe way home and stay out of this."
"Gorgon see death. Lot of death. Gorgon will STOP it. He protects little fairies with Vereon until Risa return. "He told her passionately.
Risa nodded, "Just please, please be careful, all of you. Do not try to challenge Helio. He is unpredictable." She turned to look at Vereon, "Well then, once Kyran joins us down here, the two of us have to sneak our way to that amora and get to River Port as soon as we can."
Hello we are looking for more vampires and hunters to join our roleplay c: A new morning has just started and no previous knowledge of what has happened last is required.
The town of Ember Grove is one of the oldest but always forgotten towns in the United States, founded in 1632. Located off the coast of South Carolina, the town is sometimes a tourist spot but the settled population always seems to be dwindling. It's a hot-spot for crime and murder seemingly but this never seems to become a new story for more than those who dwell in the town. Murders and disappearances are swept under the rug and no one outside of Ember Grove seems to know much at all of their constant mishaps. As far as appearances go, it's a rather nice looking area and most tourists wonder how anything bad could happen in town with such friendly faces.
Ember Grove has a big secret. Many of its residents live in ignorance of the reality of all the disappearances. It is one of the many towns that supernatural creatures gravitate to. Vampires hungry for blood come here looking to feast, werewolves bound through the woods and witches cast spells in the safety of their bedrooms. These creatures have lived for centuries without the public eye really believing they exist. The government, of course, knows of their existence and wants them to stay hidden to keep control of any panicking. Hunters have arisen for generations as well as an actual secret federal operation to exterminate these creatures in an effort to preserve humanity. Trouble looms for the residents as well as for these creatures themselves. Will they be able to coexist or will their secret finally come out? Life for sure is peculiar in Ember Grove...
✡ Playable Characters ✡
》The information is in question format for your convenience so I can directly add your questions in as well.
✡ What are they? ✡
Vampires are creatures that take on the appearance of beautiful, pale humans yet need blood in order to continue living the way humans do. Sometimes, vampires are often referred to as the night children or children of the night.
✡ What's the difference between humans and vampires? ✡
✡ Vampires are immortal and do not age like humans. If a human is converted to a vampire, the vampire will halt aging at the age they are bitten, forever frozen in time. If they are born vampires, they stop aging the moment they reach full adulthood in their early twenties. ✡ Though vampires can eat foods as humans do, blood is vitally necessary. Human blood is ideal, but animal blood or vampire blood can suffice for a short period of time, usually only for a few hours. The closer an animal is evolutional to a human the better though. ✡ Take the strongest and the fastest human in the world. Now double their strength and speed and you get essentially the speed and strength of a vampire. ✡ Their senses are much more superior to humans. Their sense of smell, sight, and hearing is extremely out of the norm. ✡ Vampires can go in the sun, it is just irritating and unhealthy for their skin, so they prefer not to. Killing is also preferable in the night time so many vampires are on nocturnal schedules. ✡If caught off guard, some older and stronger vampires can use persuasion to manipulate humans, especially if looked right in the eyes. It is essentially unreliable mind control. ✡ Vampires can also drink and get drunk. They will not have to excrete waste unless they eat or drink. ✡ Vampires' eyes become red when very hungry for blood. ✡ Vampires' have a healing factor when injured normally.
✡ Where can vampires be found? ✡
✡Many vampires live in large groups usually with hierarchies. There are many groups across the world. They often take up territories in towns that seem to be erased off the map for the rest of us. This occurs when a large number of vampires essentially raid a town, either kill or make a human farm of the inhabitants, and get rid of any threat within the town. They then own that town. Hunters usually then try to erase that area from the satellite map to try to lower the number of people going towards that area. Those that wander into these territories despite them not being on GPS or maps, end up fodder. Still, some vampires elect to live in smaller groups of friends and family. Some even are loners.
What happens when a vampire doesn't get blood?**IMPORTANT**
✡If a vampire goes so long without blood, they will slowly lose their rationality, becoming more and more like a carnivorous animal. This occurs in stages. ✡Stage A: Normal ✡Stage B: 2 days without blood leads to throat burning, fatigue, losing the sense of logic, mood swings, as well as auditory and visual hallucinations. ✡Stage C: 4 days without blood leads to stage B symptoms but now the addition of the random urge to attack even fellow vampires. They are ravenous, delusional, and they are mostly irrational. ✡Stage D: 7 days without blood: they are no longer able to communicate, their fangs have lengthened, the vampire will attack anything in sight, fallen into a completely animalistic state. Posture is even worse and they no longer move like humans. Eyes are always red and always dilated. ✡Stage E: 9 days without blood: If a stage D vampire has not gotten blood despite their willingness to kill anyone and anything, then they will fall into a state where they are no longer responsive and their body shuts down. They could be revived with blood, but only into back into a stage D state. Once a vampire enters a stage D state, their brain has depleted too far and there is nothing that can be done to bring them back to a rational mindstate.
✡ Which vampires are strongest? ✡
Pure-blood vampires are strongest; they are descended or are themselves the original vampires without human blood tainting their line. Their strength, speed, and persuasion techniques are better than most vampires. Original vampires are the strongest vampires there is. This is because of the older a vampire, the stronger.
✡ How does a human get converted into a vampire? ✡
A human must die with vampire blood in their system.
✡ Does garlic have an effect on vampires? ✡
They have a food allergy when it comes to garlic. They get hives. However, it's not lethal.
✡ Do vampires need permission to enter your house? ✡
No, they enter most homes welcome or not. However, witches can protect their homes and cast spells such as these.
✡ What about the effect of holy water, crosses and other religious things? ✡ No effect.
✡ What are the weaknesses of vampires? ✡
✡Burning ✡ Head chopped ✡ Chopping up any important parts or organs of the body ✡ Staking through the heart ✡ Chemical V (a chemical created by Hunters that is effective in preventing vampires from healing) ✡ Werewolf bites
✡ Do vampires have a reflection? ✡
Yes
✡ What happens when a human is converted to a vampire? ✡
There is a transition phase where the human has a day to feed. A vampire in the transition state will be overwhelmed and have issues with their sudden heightened sense of sound and smell. Migraines will be unbearable, they will try to binge on food to find it doesn't satisfy, and their throat will burn. They will pass as normal if they do not give into extraordinarly powerful urge to find blood. Once they bite a human, the transition will be complete.
✡ What is the population of vampires in the United States? ✡
There are currently around 600,000.
✡ Do temperature extremes bother vampires? ✡
No
✡ Do they turn into bats? ✡
No
✡ How do most vampires feel about humans? ✡
A good portion of vampires feel that humans are essentially potential meals. They see them as lesser beings they way we see pigs and cows. Vampires often laugh at hunters and are usually not even emotionally moved by them trying to defeat them. They underestimate humans greatly. Not all feel this way, of course. Especially, recently turned vampires have nicer feelings towards humans having recently been humans. Pure-blood vampires tend to be the most arrogant.
✡ Can vampires live off animals? ✡
Technically, but they would need blood every few hours and would be weaker than other vampires.
✡ Do vampires have heartbeats? ✡
No
✡ What are they? ✡
Humans who have dedicated their lives to hunting vampires, werewolves, and witches. They use militaristic, supernatural, and scientific means to combat their supernatural foes.
✡ How does someone become a hunter? ✡
Humans become hunters in a variety of ways. Some hunters are taken in as orphans, others are ex-military looking for a new tour of duty, and some are just common people out for revenge against the supernatural. Most of the time, these individuals have lived harsh lives, having little to no family members or being a product of some sort of tragedy in their lives. ✡ Some hunters are experimented on in order to gain an edge over the supernatural. Even successful experiments come with their own consequences and side effects.
✡ Are hunters always good people? ✡
- No. Hunters tend to use an "any means necessary" approach against the supernatural. Every hunter or group have their own code of ethics, and sometimes there are no limits to how far a hunter is willing to go to eliminate their enemies. ✡ Hunters are known to conduct unethical experiments on the supernatural and even those within their ranks.
Where can hunters be found? ✡ Hunters can either be integrated into normal society or dedicate all of their time to hunting the supernatural.
✡ What are the differences between working in a smaller hunter group vs a larger hunter group? ✡
✡ Smaller groups tend to be more integrated into society due to working normal everyday jobs and being known members of the society they operate in. ✡ Smaller groups have more experience in their area of operation due to keeping their hunting limited to one central area. ✡ Smaller groups usually have less funding and cannot sustain 24-hour operations. ✡ Smaller groups have limited experience to only their area of operation and the supernatural within it. Newly introduced elements will be challenging for these hunters.
✡ Larger groups have hunters from with varying sets of skills and more manpower ✡ Larger groups are funded by larger entities to conduct their operations and can have the capability of sustaining 24-hour operations. ✡ Larger groups do not have a strong foothold in the local area and are identified as outsiders amongst the local populace. Limited local support in the form of law enforcement or good samaratins. ✡ Larger groups are limited in knowledge to local hotspots, norms, traditions, and terrain in the area.
✡ What does "hunting" mean for a hunter? ✡
✡ Hunters mostly aim to eliminate any and all supernatural that manage to appear in their crosshairs. Some hunters have a preferred target (Vampire Hunter, Werewolf Hunter, Witch Hunter), while others go for all things supernatural. ✡ On special occasions, hunters may capture a supernatural for research purposes, interrogation, and/or experimentation. ✡ Hunters are usually divided into two categories:
Out-Group Hunter:These hunters go directly into battle using personalized weapons, with some enchanted by witches they've captured. These hunters have extensively trained their bodies and minds to directly combat the supernatural.
In-Group Hunter: These hunters try to hack into supernatural computers, of supernatural groups, monitor traffic and security camera footage, help rewrite news stories, talk to news stations, monitor and help out group hunters through communication and surveillance. These are usually tech specialists, engineers, and journalists hired. A hunter can fill the role of both of these categories, but it may not be as effective and prove to be more stressful without help.

Road 68
If you go down this road straight for about a half hour and make a turn down a barely noticeable road towards what appears to be a gated, private community, you'll find it's occupants a bit strange. Not many people venture here and those who do don't make it out. This small town was taken over by the vampire clan Vie Et Mort.
Road 69
This is a very long road through wooded areas and plains. After an hour's worth of travel, about 50 miles in, if you make turn down a dirt trail, you'll find the gated entrance to a very large facility where you will be told to turn back. This is where Operation Humanity can be found.
Malachi had found a cave later in the evening and insisted on taking shelter. He allowed them all to rest but went out to hunt for dinner. Whoever wanted to help he allowed to. He didn't end up questioning anyone much further besides asking casual questions once in a while about likes and dislikes. Nothing too eventful happened and some were able to get a good night's sleep, while some of them took shifts to watch over each other. Unfortunately, Malachi woke them early up in the early morning. He was in more of a rush for reasons he didn't specify, especially having not been asked yet.
He was sure if he kept everyone moving they would be there by the evening. But would he trust all of them enough to bring them there?
Now the afternoon, the group once again could be found walking along the woodland of the coast again. "So where are you all from?"He asked, "I was raised in the Sun Elf Village, while it was still the Sun Elf Kingdom." He paused at a spring creek and gestured to it, in case anyone needed water.
The day is Oktuvere 3rd. It's been more than 24 hours since the ball and approximately 10 days since humans arrived in Avalia. A chill is in the air, but the sun brilliantly casts its rays brightly over the world this afternoon on a Swordsday. The leaves on the trees are growing colorful. It's a familiar sight to the humans to see the colors of red, orange, and yellow in the leaves, but the colors are more vibrant than they'd ever seen. Most of our heroes are now only a day's worth of travel away from Port 10, also known as River Port to many. There, our heroes will gather in secret to plan for a righteous rebellion!
Pixies will be very easy to spot come the night, lighting up the night like fireflies. Unicorns could ever so rarely be spotted grazing in the grass along the way as well. But that's not the only thing to look out for! Goblins, ogres, and owlbears! Oh my!
Watch your step! All sorts of creatures lurk in these woods...

Helio grinned at her expression, taking amusement in her little act. He winked at her as she touched his chest. ”What if you tickle my fancy? Shouldn’t I do you?He retorted playfully, but let her walk away. He raised a brow to her statement about wanting her sister to owe her.
Dramatically he reached around in the air as if grappling for the kiss then tapped his lips. ”You got it, sweetheart!”He watched her leave then turned to go on his way.
He spent some time flying along the river, but he didn’t end up finding the rest of the bodies. Considering they never reported back, he knew they were somewhere in there most likely. He gave up on the task and flew over to sit on the thick tree branch of a large tree that overlooked the area. It was some ways from the main area of the River Kingdom, but there were very small settlements scattered all over the area.
His view overlooked a group of maybe four homes and a little shop that was along the main road. There were sparse amounts of winding street lamps that looked like thin tree trunks with balls of light wrapped up in branches at the top of it. A dim, blue light emitted from the ball.
He took some time to sit there, leaned against the trunk, looking down at this road beneath him. A carriage or two passed in the time, horses galloping.
Risa’s face flashed in his mind as he recalled her always asking to go in a horse carriage as a child and he smirked. She hadn’t expected to see him alive at all. He had to wonder if she had forgotten him. His smirk faded as a hazy
.
” You’re leaving!?”
The Millinia family had been eating dinner, in their formalwear. Elyna had cooked some meat, a rare treat in their home. A soft, yellow tablecloth had covered the table. All sorts of little bread and sides could be found across the entire span of it. Most were Helio’s favorite foods. A small chandelier hung over the table. The evening had been quiet and they had discussed Helio’s graduation from school and his good marks. The topic of Helio leaving for the fairy militia had been tip-toed around until it couldn’t be.
Risa had stood up and outburst as soon as Cedar made the mistake of asking Helio if he had started packing his things. Being only five years of age, she stood up on the chair and was face to face with Helio while he was seated. In a frilly dress and her hair in braids, she stared at him completely heartbroken.
” Well..” Helio knew this was going to be hard. His eyes slid sideways to look at his parents, who had also hesitated. Elyna stood up and came over to Risa’s chair to try to maneuver her back into her seat and quietly comfort her, but Risa wasn’t having it.
”How long are you going away?”She asked.
”He will be away for quite some time, Risa, but I’m sure he’ll come to visit you. It’s what all boys his age have to do. His duty is to protect our kingdom.” Cedar answered sternly, which caused his wife to cry out his name in astonishment. He exhaled and rolled his eyes, ” There’s no sense lying to the child. She must come to understand the way we do things.”
She stared at Helio with a quivering lip before she hopped off her chair and went bounding into her bedroom.
Helio received a look from Elyna and he sighed. She wanted him to go talk to her obviously. Little Risa adored him and they knew she’d take it hard. He got up and followed after her. She had her face planted into the side of her bed while still standing up. He smirked, raising a brow, and moved over to sit beside her. He gently patted his fist on the back of her head, ” Knock, knock. Anyone home?”
Risa cried into the pillow in response. Her words were muffled.
He petted her hair, ” Risa, you know I’ll visit you.” When she didn’t pick up her head, he picked her up and sat her at his side beside him to hug her. She sniffled and folded her arms, avoiding his gaze.
” You’re not gonna play with me anymore!”
” I will! I promise! Risa, okay? I’ll come back whenever I can. I have to get big and tough so I can protect our family and so I can protect you.”Helio pinched her cheek, ” I’m your big brother. It’s my job to keep you safe. I want to make sure I’m strong and fast enough to scare all your boyfriends away.”
Risa furrowed her brows. ” But I want a boyfriend. You have to stay here or I won’t be safe. I’ll get one right now if you don’t.”
He laughed, ”No. No boyfriends.”He told her. ” I promise I’ll come to visit as soon as I can. And when I do, I’ll even take you on an adventure. You’re my partner in crime, remember?”
She hugged him and buried her face. ” I am not letting you go.” Her words were once again muffled into his shirt.
Helio hugged her, ” You don’t need to. I’ll always be here for you, Risa.”
The memory was viciously yanked from his mind before it could continue any longer, the voices distorting.
Pain. Guilt. Confusion… Drowning-...
Drowning in the dark.
Where am I?
Helio gripped his head as his ears began to ring and conflicting flashes of memories and emotions overwhelmed him for a moment. He saw a watery, black fluid around him. The feeling of glass beneath his fingertips as he tried to reach forward. A large, black demon. Umber. Then there was the agony.
I hurt my own sister? Why? Why? Why? Why?!
He suddenly screamed out into the night, a guttural scream of pain. But then, that seemed to be enough. He buried his head for a moment until a feeling of numbness came over him. Detangling his fingers from his hair, he let go of his head and lifted it up. A few chuckles escaped his lips. At that moment, it was as if he heard his own laughter from a distance as he got to his feet. A thought formed in his mind, spoken in pure loathing.
I hope she’s writhing in agony.
Helio glanced at the palm of his hand and watched a black sphere form in it. He watched it for a moment, the flecks of dark energy hopping off it and the active movement of the material. His wings had the same little flecks of matter coming off them. They fluttered as he took flight. He tore his gaze from the orb but kept it in his hand as he made his way over to the settlement he had seen. He landed on the ground in front of it.
The windows of the little fairy huts were darkened and the village was quiet. They were all asleep for the most part. He watched as a young woman emerged from one of the homes with a child and sat on a rocking chair on her porch. She pulled the small child into her arms and began to rock him in her arms as she hummed. Her hair was a shade of pink.
Helio watched with a dead, cold expression. He moved over and finally hurled the dark matter into her and the child. They both cried out and fell off the chair. She crawled back into the house with the child in hand as fast as she could, pulling the door shut behind her.
Roots began to grow out of the ground that only grew in size and began to easily tower over the house. They began to grip the house like a hand had reached out from the ground and grabbed it with its fingers.
Screams rang out. The lights flickered on in the houses and fairies began to peek out.
Helio felt like he was watching himself move from a seat at this point. He might have felt rage at the moment but he wasn’t sure if he ever felt anything. Helio looked up at one of the fairies peering out their windows, launching a thorny shadow covered vine from the ground into the skull of the fairy before dragging them out of the window onto the ground. The body lied still before a flower burst from the chest and erupted into a mass of wriggling vines.
The stench of death and rot began to fill the air and a corpse flower, moving on vines like legs, rose from the earth and began to head towards another house. Manipulating and growing a corpse flower was an ability that only dark fairies could yield in comparison to the other fairies due to the mix of being able to wield both umbrakinesis and chlorokinesis. Aklenroth specifically taught him of this ability, but probably did not have in mind for him to go wreak havoc on innocents with it.
Helio turned back to the house he was crushing before and pumped masses of dark energy into the vines coating the house in a shadow before squeezing his hand bringing the house down onto its base. He laughed with insanity as fairies tried to escape their homes pointing towards them. The corpse flower moved closer grabbing and lashing at them repeatedly before dragging them into itself.
Distracted in terror, a small fairy child bumped into Helio begging and pleading for help. He looked down at the child, meeting her eyes before she began to choke on something. She gripped her own neck in distress. Helio smiled as two shadowy hands emerged from her mouth tearing her jaws and flesh of her face apart. The snapping of bones echoed in the nearby area as the little girl dropped lifelessly at his feet. Helio then stepped on her skull feeling it crunch under his boot.
Helio glanced at the corpse flower. He decided he had enough of the ugly thing. He hurled it into the third house. It loudly crashed into the front wall. Nearby screams made him of the fairies as they ran into the woods, made him turn, and have vines shoot out of the ground beneath them, catching them by their ankles.
In honor of Dionaea, he decided to kill them all in a similar fashion. After all, he had known Dionaea since a young child, it was only natural he should honor her death by making more art in her name. He raised his arms, letting vines plunge into their bodies from all directions slowly and painfully. Blood splattered the grass beneath them.
Helio smiled wickedly, admiring the silence. He turned to stare at the village. His rage felt satiated, but he had one thing he needed to do before he took his leave.
Once that was all said and done, it was time to prepare for his morning coronation.
Valok's words were satisfactory to Malachi. He saw him be a useful ally and even found his personality to be better than he thought he would. As he went to continue leading everyone on their way, Belladona spoke up and moved in front of everyone. Though he was impressed she was taking some initiative and wasn't a puppy that just followed him mindlessly, he did not find it to be necessary. He had planned to get more information slowly through the journey, gaining some trust and getting onto more pleasant terms with them to ease information out better. Her questions, though legitimate and on his mind as well, were not going to be answered. He stayed silent and let them answer and let Belladonna find this out naturally.
Myra gave the same answer as before. Mathis introduced himself and gave as vague and hard to pick apart answers as his first. It was going to be like picking up crumbs only to never find the source. Though the information proved interesting, so it wasn't a total waste. "Magical spells" was as vague as it got and it was cause for suspicion. Malachi didn't think this man seemed threatened by them, so there was a chance if this indeed was a foe, then provoking them could potentially be dangerous. He was confident enough of his magical abilities and knowhow to feel secure engaging in a battle with Mathis if this were the case, but he wasn't confident that the others would come out safely, so he preferred to go about this peacefully and intelligently.
Malachi moved to take Belladonna's shoulders. He gave her a look. He forcefully, but gently, turned her around and then gave her a gentle push to start walking forward. "No more stopping. Talk and walk. Let's go."Malachi clapped his hands after Mathis had spoken and started walking ahead again, motioning for them all to join.
Clara's expression lit up. They were going to let her travel with them? She had struck the jackpot. Perhaps asking for help with directions while holding a map seemed kind of silly but she doubted they'd figure out she was human so quickly. Besides, what was use was a map if you didn't know where you were on it? Either way, the stupider they thought she was, probably the better. Dumb people never brought much trickery. She cheerfully turned to Kenia, rolling up her map and putting it away as she did, "Oh thank you. That's very kind of you! I'm very new to traveling in the woods. I ran into some big spiders and I lost any idea of which direction I was going."
The fairy male didn't seem as open to inviting her and a tinge of guilt filled her especially as he spoke to her. "If I'm any burden, I can just travel on my own, just need a good sense of which way I'm going. Or at the least, I can offer you some of my food or some amas in return for helping me-" She noticed his bird and broke off. That's so cute. He's talking to his bird!
She gave him a bow in return when he bowed, but she could tell his words and smile seemed a bit forced. She couldn't tell for sure, but judging on the tone of his last statement, she had a good hunch he wasn't looking for company. Even so, she was really excited to talk to actual fairies."It's really nice to meet you too, Bowyn, and it's nice to meet your cute little birdie! Though you don't have to show me any good graces if I'm not wanted here. " Clara could be awkwardly too forward at times.
The female fairy also spoke to her and her smile grew, "Oh hi Zephyrin! My name's...Arwen! " She pulled out a name from Lord of the Rings, knowing quite well no one was probably named Clara in Avalia. Zephyrine seemed sweet! Maybe they could be friends.
The last fairy spoke to her introducing himself as Elthrael. She had overheard a bit of what he had been saying before and she had heard him talking about mentioning humans in a serious manner, how if one couldn't control their power, they would be useless, and it is why he parted ways with some flame-haired girl. Clara wasn't sure how she felt about that, considering they had been summoned here to help save Avalia. Any difficulties should be a burden they'd be willing to bear, wouldn't it? Nonetheless, she decided she'd find out how things worked once she found more rebels. She wasn't quite sure if she had done just that yet.
"Hello Elthrael! What a nice name."She greeted him. She wondered if he was a fairy-like the other two or if there were just different kinds of fairies. "Forest parade of the jolly she-elf, hm?
