Bio

Hello! Welcome to my little bio.

Not much to say, really. Just a horror game protag that likes writing and playing vidya games when I'm not being chased by the cosmic forces of darkness. (I'm a security guard that works night shifts usually).

Have some dancing medjed.

well I completely forgot to reply.

I'll do it when I wake up tomorrow. Sorry guys~ xD
As for the size of the group and such, what do you think should we go on: Start IC soon or wait for a few more jolly cooperationists? I was thinking of posting soon, maybe Saturday.

Oops. Missed this.

As for when to start, I think it'd be a good idea to go ahead and start. We can always add more people later, if they want to join in jolly undead slaying co-operation.

@Shoryu
Honestly, from the way you've explained things, I think it could be somewhat feasible. After all, a lot of Dark Souls lore is left up to interpretation for the individual player, and you don't strike me as someone who would make the character overpowered.

So...I guess I have no strong opinion one way or another. I'll leave it up to the GM's and others to decide if they want it.
There actually is a reason why you ended up where you did, even if it seems underwhelming.

If it's because Lynn was being watched by some Xatu, and they led her on a wild goose chase or something, that's hilarious xD

Not that Lynn would likely ever notice though, so it's fine. Quill might, since she has good eyes because of that Keen Eye ability, but I'd likely have opted for them not too, since they're kind of idiots xD

anyways, keep up the good work. I'll try to have a post up sometime soon, maybe tomorrow morning at the latest~
~Neix~

Well, her first thought was that Mox was hilarious. Probably would make for fun company at least, if she wanted to make fun of someone. But getting out of here, though? Well...that wasn't exactly her first thought at the moment. While leaving was a pretty fun idea, she was content to stay here for the moment. It seemed safe enough, and it was a good place to get their bearings at least. Still if everyone else left, she'd follow. Safety in numbers and all that.

Still, so many people were freaking out. Understandable, really. She'd probably be freaking out herself if she opened her mouth in any capacity that wasn't going to be mocking someone. Her head turned to the second one who was freaking out. She looked...surprisingly human compared to some of them. Ignoring Mox and the spider, Neix walked over to Hyng Saffron, and the other Kobold. Might as well introduce herself to the other Kobold. After all, they were the same race! Might as well get all friendly and buddy buddy so she can mooch off of him~

"Hyng and Saffron, eh? Well, aren't you too just adorable, heh~" She chuckled lightly. "Neix, if ya didn't hear. Guess we're all in the same boat here. At least I've got another Kobold friend~" She gave Jeff a smile, though her voice was full of obvious sarcasm. "Say, you got some food on ya...Jeff? What kinda lame name is that, anyways?"

"Whatever...I'm kinda hungry, actually."She then turned to look at Saffron...a mischievous, toothy grin appearing on her face, before it failed, and she shook her head. That was...well, kinda mean. A little far, even for her. "Before ya get scared again, that was a joke..." She fell quiet after that. Ugh, her mouth wasn't going to help things here, so she'd resign herself to silence for the moment. At least until she cleared her head a bit.

@PKMNB0Y@Raineh Daze@Lugia

Foe: Noctowl & Hoothoot Flock
Level: 20
Ability: Tinted Lens
Gender: Female

Hoothoots range from level 3-6

~Sage~

In an instant, he had switched places with Ivy. A good thing too, because as soon as he did the Noctowl flew just over his head, a full body tackle barely missing his round body. Chances were, if that girl had gotten hit with it, she'd be done for. He couldn't hear Cerises' commands over the loud hooting, but it wasn't likely she'd be of any help anyways, so he'd have to do this himself. Always up to round little Sage to save the day.

Ugh, he didn't get paid with enough treats or cuddles from cute women like this.

He about faced, quickly flapping his little wings to get airborne. The Noctowl was momentarily distracted by the turn of evens, but only for an instant. As soon as it spotted Sage, it screeched and sped in for another tackle. Sage dodged, dropping to the ground and letting her pass overhead again. There wasn't much he could do here except dodge and keep himself from getting hit and the Noctowl occupied while everyone else got out of here. As soon as they did, he'd drop the fight and find his way to Cherrygrove himself.

The Noctowl screeched, its body shining in a blue light as it readied another Sky Attack, giving Sage only seconds to react.

...and then fire. So much fire. Sage had not foreseen this at all. This was bad. Very, very bad. The psychic type only had a few seconds to be distracted as the Noctowl already had charged its attack, and slammed right into the round bird.

Sage bounced like a small ball, rolling on the ground amid a horde of squawking Hoothoots as they fled, luckily landing right at Cerise's feet as the Noctowl slammed into a tree, burning leaves and embers falling on the large bird pokemon.

~Cerise & Abigail~

Cerise hurriedly picked up Sage, looking up at Abigail.

"A-Abigail this is...bad..."

"Ya think?!" She snapped, perhaps a bit to hostile. She didn't have much time to answer Yuu, the fire was already roaring and spreading faster than she could keep up with. Their best option here was simple. With the Hoothoot scattering because of the fire, it'd be easy enough. She wrapped Tyrian up in her arms. He had done a fairly good job of hitting those Hoothoots hard, but there was only so much one little purple rabbit could do against a dozen hoothoots. He had bloody cuts all over his body, his tiny legs trembling as he tried to keep standing.

Noah fled past them, obviously being of a similar mindset. Ivy followed right behind.

"Come on boy, we've gotta get out of here." She said, rushing over to her tent. It had already caught on fire, the outside of it was already burning in some places. If she took too long chances were, she'd probably get more than a little singed. Thankfully, the flap had been left open and grabbing her bag was only a matter of reaching in, and getting out. Seconds, really, and maybe it was foolish, but she was not marching all the way to the nearest clothing store in her pajamas.

She made it out just as the fire reached the tent, and with Tyrian in her arms, her bag slung over her shoulders, booked it to Cherrygrove. Cerise was running right next to her, having trouble keeping up. She wasn't an athlete, and probably had never ran a day in her life except to be first in line to test some new perfume or something.

Abigail briefly noted the Noctowl still conscious, and flying away from the scene, a small flock of hoothoot following it.

It had taken the trainers using all of their stamina and willpower to reach Cherrygrove. They didn't stop running until they made it to the pokemon center, completely exhausted from their encounter. The center already took all of the injured pokemon from the party, rushing both Tesla and Sage to the Emergency Room. Noah was also taken care of by the staff, his more serious injuries being taken care of as best they could. Abigail reported the forest fire, which was now a raging inferno. Likely all of Cherrygrove knew about it now. The inferno lit up the night sky like a miniature sun, and the center immediately called for aid for help putting it out.

Abigail had changed out of her pajamas and back into her traveling clothes. Cerise looked absolutely ragged and tired after arriving, and after dropping off sage, went right to the rented room the center let all of them have for the night so she could take a shower. Chances were, she was completely agitated, tired, and would like to be left alone, so Abigail left her alone. She didn't know what Yuu was doing, but honestly she just wanted to sort of be left alone at the moment.

She was goddamn tired, and was probably going to go to bed as soon as Tyrian was healed up.
@Rune_Alchemist Like I said, still working out the kinks. The things is, there are specific requirements to be met when trying to capture a rare. And if you don't meet them, I don't want to lead you on for four posts just to tell you it's not there.

I realize there are specific requirements, and I fully expected Lynn to not find one, but I would rather prefer that than just one post of 'walking in a circle'. It feels a little...underwhelming. Being led on a four post goose chase would be a lot more interesting and realistic in my opinion, especially if there is a chance to discover something else, or come across another pokemon in the process.

Even if they didn't find anything, it'd as some might say, go a bit towards character development.

Using Lynn here as an example...Maybe something caught Lynn's attention on the path, and instead of following the markings all the way to the end, she decided to follow that instead. Instead of using this Pancham in an event like following the markings in a complete circle, you could have had it been on the path somewhere - Perhaps give Sneasel the option to have noticed it and Alerted Lynn to its presence.

I just think each encounter or event needs to have multiple ways it can go, especially if searching for a rare or are exploring somewhere. Either complete failure, or perhaps stumbling upon something else. Not the pokemon you were looking for, but maybe you stumble upon a cave, or a different pokemon altogether.

Maybe you run into a trainer and have a surprise battle xP

Oh hey, Klisa finally showed up!~

...now if only Anubis would post so i can do something with Haine.

...actually, screw it. I'ma have her take Sora up on that 1v1 fight. Right after some food and a shower.
As far as I am concerned, it is an interesting mechanic, but as I said to @Shoryu that it might not properly portray in this RP, or in RP in general. It is more something that feels well prepared to be implemented in a Tabletop/Pen-and-Paper, rather a Play-by-Post RP. My own doubt left me to see what the group thinks of it.

So from what I have read, you appear to be on my side, that the mechanic looks well made, but should be addressed in a proper gaming system, am I right?

I can agree with that, yeah. We're not really using stats here, so it would be sort of hard to factor in things like Like Soul Level and what his character gains 'stat-wise'.

Also, my last group left the RP after telling me that I was focusing it too much on combat. How much combat is "enough" for you and how much is "too much", so I have a general idea where to go with the encounters.

I'm all for a lot of combat. That's basically just the entire premise of the Soulsborne series, I think. However, there also needs to be some downtime, I think, that allows for character development and things. Maybe not much - perhaps just a simple conversation when everyone is gathering around a bonfire after a hard fought battle.

Maybe run into some odd creature or another, that seems peaceful. Needs some sort of moral dilemma thrown in there as well, occasionally, perhaps.
@Rune_Alchemist I sort of just assumed they were on opposite ends of the tree.

Also, mad respect on that Lady Maria avatar. Hands down my favorite boss fight in Bloodborne.

Ahaha, I love Maria's boss fight. Blood and Fire everywhere!
My two favorite things >:D

*ahem*

Annyways~

Looks like our glorious GM has spoken.
From my point of view it's an entirely different thing though, one 'eats the gods to gain their powers' and the other simply follows a philosophy of 'letting' the old fade, perhaps recreating some elements that might be key to staying 'him', but always replacing old with new over-time. Even if he did somehow do something like Aldrich, it would fade over time as everything about him does, not to mention that absorbing a boss soul and gaining a 'larger advantage' from it, is still designed, at least in my head, to pale in comparison to actually 'being a boss'.

That's one of the things I think I have a problem with this the most, actually. How exactly does taking a different 'philosophy' about something, translate to him inherently changing how souls work? As in, how does he do this? Simply taking a different stance and beliefs about hollowing and the nature of undead, doesn't mean they'd work differently for him, does it? I'm not saying I want a long winded explanation about the entire mechanics, just that he is, fundamentally changing how souls have been shown to work for Undead.

Now, if he wasn't 'Undead', then this whole situation can be avoided by saying he's something else entirely, but I'm not sure how that would work.

I mean, my character, Alia views Undead as nothing more than people, and doesn't have anything against them herself. She basically has a similar view that your character would have if I read Asta correctly, in that moving forward and making new experiences is needed for any undead. Focusing so much on one thing makes on obsessed, and when you accomplish one goal, just move forwards towards another and engage in jolly co-operation with your comrades.

So would that automatically make her whatever he is? I don't really see it as a philosophy honestly, more of just a personality trait. From what you've described at least, anyways.

That said, in 'RP' I would not picture bosses the same way as in the game. In a way, we're all on the same level as bosses [save for the 'giant monster/god slayer/eater/inherently over-powered bosses] in that from an RP perspective you're not whittling away at a health bar, but just trying to break them successfully. Like Ornstein for instance, We wouldn't need to 'beat the fuck out of him' to win like in the game, he seemed more like a nimble but dangerous style, so it'd likely be more about managing to get in 'that good hit' that manages to turn the tide... I hope that makes sense XD

True, true, this is an RP and mechanics are going to inherently work differently.

Also, sorry if this is long-winded, I actually rather like debate, especially when it's a mature debate with someone who's actually thinking instead of screaming obscenities and slurs [curse those youtube feminists]

Ahahaa, no no, it's fine! I rather like debates myself. Its quite difficult to find someone to calmly discuss things with who won't immediately resort to obscenities. It's quite annoying, though I wish I had more time on my hands at the moment so I could do this a bit better xP

I think, so far, my real concern has been said above. How does him taking a...lets say 'keep moving forward philosophy' immediately change how souls work for him? Because as I said, Alia is likely going to be quite of a similar mindset, so would that immediately make her like him?
