Current I just can't. This is too much. Berserk was so influential on so many things that I love. Goodbye, Miura. You'll be missed by many.

Bio

Hello! Welcome to my little bio.

Not much to say, really. Just a horror game protag that likes writing and playing vidya games when I'm not being chased by the cosmic forces of darkness. (I'm a security guard that works night shifts usually).

Have some dancing medjed.

Whenever Suzue touches technology

It magically starts burning.

So yeah, that'll be fun.
Well, that ripple was odd, though she largely dismissed it until they found themselves standing at a nearly identical rock with more runes on it. Rachel frowned. Some sort of localized space-time anomaly? A looping space pattern? Wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff? Well, since they were in a computer she doubted either of those. Still, this was...interesting. They hadn't taken any turns, or at least she hadn't. This fog was new, too.

"...ah-ah, uhm, y-you don't think this place is seriously haunted do you?" Swimmon spoke up. This fog wasn't making her feel at ease at all.

"hehe, don't worry Swimmon. I'm sure nothing bad will happen."

"W-whenever people say that bad stuff always happens, Kameo."

"Tsk."

"Oi, you two stop blabbering before Rachel takes it out on me."

"Sorry, sorry." Kameo giggled.

Rachel went back to studying the cipher. Him, it was longer in total but the cipher itself was still rather simple. 'Forward' then? They just had to keep walking forwards. Hm. Rachel took a look around the immediate area, not noticing anything else to far out of the ordinary. So she walked around the rock, and started moving forwards.

"I think she means 'Forwards'" Impmon said, following after Rachel.
Opera Night

~@The Irish Tree (NEP)~

"Aha, don't worry Nep!" She replied with a grin, casting a look back at the dragon. "I know what I'm doing, totally!" She didn't seem to entirely mind her closeness, either. So the girl kept walking back to the house without so much as a pause, and without much more of a hassle managed to return to the home, leaving the creepy graveyard behind. Once inside, Christine let go of Nephele's claw, turning to face her with a bright grin.

"Alright, so!" She nearly pressed her face to the dragons. "A quick rundown of the play to give you some idea of what's going on, at least. It's a really simple and pretty straight forward murder mystery sort of thing. Nothing too fancy." She took a few steps back. "To put simply, I'm the target of some assassin who wants to kill both me and my family. You're going to be playing the unlikely hero who saves my cute butt." She cast a glance towards the far wall. "...and ends up doing stuff at the end, haha..." She sheepishly grinned for a moment before returning to her usual exuberance. "Buuut I'm sure it'll be fine. Improv is always a wonderful addition and I'm sure the audience would be pleasantly surprised at the change, heh." She turned, leading Nephele in a much more calm manner towards the dining area, where a makeshift stage had been prepared.

"I don't think it'd be too much of a problem for you though."

As they arrived, the stage was set in the large dining hall. The stage itself ran across the entire room, easily large enough to allow for a large set. Most of the set pieces had been set up, but hadn't been completely organized yet. Gerald was standing off to the side, greeting both of them with a bright wave.

Maria wasn't anywhere to be seen, though.

@Eviledd1984 - Maria

The room at the end of the hallways, was in somewhat better condition, but all of the furniture was old. Almost as if it hadn't been touched by people a long time. A small bed was against one wall, but it wasn't a large one. Perhaps a bed for a child of some sort? There was an old vanity, and a few dolls scattered about. An old painting of a butterfly of some sort was hanging on the wall next to the door.

In the middle of the floor was an old, though extremely well kept butterfly shaped hairpin.

"Well now," A voice spoke, seemingly coming from nowhere. "Isn't this a surprise? Going off script are we? My my, and I wasn't supposed to make my introduction until the epilogue when the unlikely hero falls for my dark charm after he kills the murderer...but improvisation is a wonderful tool, yes! I suppose the mastermind can make her appearance early...so let me introduce myself." The room in the air grew colder as the hairpin on the floor levitated upwards, wisps of demonic energy spiraling down from it, coalescing until they took the shape of a human female. In one of her hands formed a walking cane that matched the color scheme of her dress, with a diamond looking gem situated on top of it. She was floating a few feet above the ground, and didn't seem to have any legs at the moment.

"Sudden encounter! Appearance of the Evil mastermind commences! Haha I'm such a genuis" She fixed Maria with a grin, holding the cane in one hand, and lightly tapping the palm of her other hand with the other end. "So darling, on a scale of one to ten, how good are you with that rapier of yours?"

~Arletta Dupain~

@PaulHaynek@The Irish Tree

"Well, might as well skin the hides then..." Arletta replied. "Thank you, Sir Emillio. Safe travels." Varjan war hounds...this was curious. Troublingly so. After dealing with some on her last outing, this seemed a little too much like a coincidence. Perhaps they had come through with those 'refugees'. Either way, it was something that wasn't good. Still, if their pelts could do some good, might as well skin them. So she set about helping Magnus. Wouldn't be her first time skinning an animal.

With that done, they set off on the road back to Mahigan. Magnus carried most of the pelts, though she would absolutely not let him carry all of them, even if he could. Once inside the town, they were quickly pointed to a general store where they met a Cyclops who was inquiring about something from the stores owner. Magnus, in his usually adorable quirky way was the first to speak up. Arletta gave a friendly smile to the cyclops, but for the most part said nothing and walked over to the Store Clerk.

"Mhm, we were told that there was an inventor here or something who was working on a flying machine of some sort? He requested help from our guild."
...this Tengu knew very little of human history, didn't she? The oldest recorded human according to records was at least a thousand years old. Supposedly, at any rate. Still, that was neither here nor there. They needed transportation and while Charlotte wouldn't have minded using her talents to get some coin or passage she was curious as to how exactly the Tengu flew to start with. Plus, it'd give her a chance at one of her feathers. For a few seconds Charlotte weighed the pros and cons of what she was about to ask before sighing. Well, scholarly pursuits required risks.

"Hmm..." She placed a hand on her chin. "You have some sort of ability to control the winds, correct? As well, I am assuming you can fly. Admittedly I do not have much money to spare buying passage," She walked over to Himeko. "I think perhaps the fastest way would be to fly, then."
~Ceri~

@Lord Sawsaw2@Valor@Lmpkio

"A-ah...uhm okay?" Ceri was fine with sharing. It was good after all, and sharing was good. Keeping it all to herself would have just been selfish. Mis didn't give her enough time to actually do it though. "H-hold on...?" The small girl began panicking just a bit. Hold on? What did she mean by hold on? She couldn't possibly mean something like....

Oh

Oh dear.

"Eep!" Ceri squealed a bit as she was jerked forward, Mis not giving her a moment to get down as she bolted through the crowds, weaving through them as they went to find Dreadlin. She found something to hold on to alright, but that meant she had to drop the sweet lest she fall off. Thankfully it wasn't a long trip as fast as Mis was, and it wasn't entirely enjoyable either. After the initial shock wore off she found herself giggling lightly until Mis came to a screeching halt in front of the lizard man.

"Oof-!" The rather sudden stop almost caused Ceri to stumble off, but she managed to catch herself before she fell face first to the ground in a rather ungraceful manner. "H-hi Dreadlin..." She greeted the lizard, hopping off of Mis and back onto the ground, wobbling slightly as Alexandria approached, giving her a small nod of recognition. They wanted to team up with him, then? Well, that was fine. She did like him, even if he was a little scary. For the most part though, she remained silent. She'd stick with Mis, so she didn't have too much to add.
Well, a small post from me and a completely normal and innocent spider that is totally not up to anything nefarious.
~A clever little Spider~

Ah...it was a pleasant day, wasn't it? She walked through the suburbs, humming a pleasant little tune to herself, not a human batting a single eye at her. Such funny, oblivious creatures. So many of them were so unaware of things greater than they. It was quite funny, really, to see them think themselves the strongest or most intelligent creatures on earth. They were just lucky other things couldn't bother with humans because they were too busy or didn't care. Heh, it was entertaining to see them so oblivious to the greater world around them...or the man-eating spider that was currently walking among them.

It was also a little boring, being unable to interact with a majority of them unless they were alone. Oh well, she was busy anyways. Things to do, places to see, humans to watch, children to play with, heh, even a dinner date. So yes, quite busy indeed, despite a number of delicious looking morsels catching her eye that she'd like to play with. Ah, and of course, she couldn't forget she said she'd get that new...computer part for Chi-Chan. Some sort of graphics thing or something - whatever that was.

The downside of being old and from a completely different era, was you had no idea how this mysterious thing known as 'Technology' worked.

Hmm.

Oh well. She chuckled quietly to herself, walking through the suburbs of the town, past a quiet little house and into the city proper. Such was the troubles of a funny little spider like herself. She should pick up some more of those things Chi-Chan likes too...the cold orange flavored things.
The rest of the night passed uneventfully. Whoever had instigated the attack on Marie was nowhere to be found, likely not having thought that someone could so easily best even a Wyrm. Sorcha returned a few hours later, after the others had all gone to sleep, having completed a cursory patrol of the immediate surrounding forests. She trusted Katherine's little...network of dolls, but it made her feel more at ease. Not for Marie, but rather in case whoever here caused trouble elsewhere.

Avaline ended up sleeping with Sol, having decided that angering the storm drake would probably be a bad idea for her longevity, even if Master Luna calmed her down. Marie spent the night by herself, though she didn't seem to get much sleep, spending most of the night restless or otherwise unable to rest well. In the end, when morning came the young demon was one of the first awake. Khira and Katherine returned from the forest not long after having their 'fun', and Miren ended up cuddling with Eith, which Khira soon joined in after.

The trip back to Sappho was uneventful. Avaline was quite eager to help, and ended up pulling quite a bit more of her weight. Marie as usual, kept to herself. Miren studied the book they had found on the way back, with Khira getting to know both her and Eith a bit better. Sorcha kept herself busy with Maoin and Sol, switching between giving the kitten a few lessons on the fly and playing with Sol.

Honestly, all parties were likely rather glad to be home once they had arrived back.

Sorcha & Avaline

"Aaaah, that was a nice little outing but there's no place like coming home and plopping down on a bed~" The dragon proceeded to do just that, plopping face first down into the bed, causing the it to creak lightly from the weight. Avaline practically barreled in next, slithering her way across the floor and to the far corner of the room. The land dragon held her claws to the sides of her face, eyes practically sparkling with excitement.

This.

was.

Awesome.

Ooh, she had never had a proper 'home' before. Or anything at all really. Ooh, this was all so exciting she could barely contain herself. In fact, she couldn't. The end of Avaline's tail was wagging back and forth wildly, unintentionally knocking over a few things on a nearby counter top. "Master Luna! Master Luna!" As soon as Luna would enter the room, Avaline would slither over and excitedly stare at Luna like a child seeing snow for the first time. "I want to go see the funny human town! I need to erm, let everyone know of the presence of myself!" She held her claws hopefully in front of her, giving Luna the biggest eyes she could manage.

It'd probably be a bad idea to let her outside unsupervised, even if she wasn't planning on causing trouble. Maybe get her some proper clothes aside from the scales covering her, ahem, body, too.

Sorcha rolled over on the bed, pulling the covers over herself and wrapping herself in the blankets, doing her best to ignore Avaline.

Miren & Khira.

"So this is, uhm, where we live." Miren hopped into the upstairs of her bookstore with Eith and Khira right behind. The Chimaera walked into the building, frowning a bit. One of her ears twitched in displeasure, the snake looking a tad bit annoyed as well. She walked the length of the room slowly, adjusting herself to the interior.

"...this will take some getting used too." She replied. "I am not used to living indoors. The city is loud and I can't hear the forest." It was at least, clear, the Chimaera would need some time to adjust. She seemed tense and a little on edge simply from being around so many people and being indoors. "Hmph...I suppose I should have expected this." She didn't seem like she was complaining, just rather stating facts. "Miren...is there a room with a view of the outdoors?"

"Uhm, well, there's a balcony in my bedroom. It doens't get used much but it's not exactly big, either."

"Hmm...I suppose that is fine." Khira scratched the side of her head, just behind her ears idly. "Perhaps I will go out and attempt socializing with these humans."

"A-ah? y-you sure?"

"I have trouble sitting still...especially around so many others. So many unfamiliar sounds and smells. Will just take time to get used too. For now, I will rest and perhaps speak with Alpha." Khira looked towards Eith.

"Ah, well, if anyone needs me, I'll be downstairs. I have to make sure everything is ready for opening again tomorrow." She also needed to speak with Livia about fixing Eith's condition. The book was quite...enlightening on the subject.

Livia

"Hmm, I see...you are quite old, then. Much older than your appearance suggests."

"Aha, well, being in service to a God that governs the dead and Afterlife does have its Perks." The white robed woman across from her chuckled lightly. Despite being a modest looking person, the airy robe wasn't exactly all that covering. It was made light and made to allow as much air inside the garments as possible. Perhaps made because of a hot climate. Livia took a sip of her tea, Ayumi standing just behind her and to the side. This was an...interesting development. Someone working for the 'Gods' actually seeking her out. Aside from being incredibly suspicious, this just had bad written all over it.

"Mhm...so, what is it you wish to do here, Chione?" Livia asked quietly. "I don't mean to be rude, but people such as yourself aren't entirely welcome around here all that well."

"...so I am aware." The woman sighed. "And that is unfortunate, but I can assure you I will cause no problems and I will keep my head down. I am simply here to learn how much the world has changed since my many long years in solitude."

"Well, I like to think of this place as welcome to all so long as they have a desire to learn." Livia continued, standing from her seat. "But I also can't show favor to people." The woman, apparently by the name of Chione nodded. "And since I am not quite certain I like the idea of you sitting in classes with others, I am unsure if I can help."

"That is fine...'headmistress', was it? I intend to entirely self study. Perhaps seek aid of others and you have my word I will keep myself out of trouble as much as possible."

"Well, if there's nothing else then." Livia walked over to Chione, giving her a friendly handshake. "It was a pleasure to meet you. Perhaps sometime we could chat over the old days of Egypt? I am quite curious to know the inner workings of the ancient people."

"And I would be more than happy to share, Headmistress." She accepted the handshake. "Ah...one moment, do you know of any place that might could make some specialized tools? I seem to have misplaced something rather important."

"Well, I'm certain there's a blacksmith who could make something for a reasonable price...though, I assume you're not exactly the wealthiest person on campus?"

"...aha, I suppose I'm not. Well, either way, thank you for your time, Headmistress. I shall take you up on that offer soon, I think." With that, the white-robed woman respectfully bowed, turning and leaving the Headmistress' office. Once she was gone, Ayumi plopped down in the chair across Livia's desk, one of her tanto balancing on the end of her finger.

"Boy, she smelled more suspicious than I do and that's saying something." She chuckled. "So what'cha gonna do?"

"Wait for now. She probably knows I'll be watching...if she does anything then I will know." Livia took a seat back in her chair. "But of course, do keep an eye on her."

"Roger roger, boss lady." With that, the Ninja vanished in a puff of smoke, leaving just Fia and Livia in her office once again.
"...." Charlotte simply gave Himeko her usual somewhat sour expression, a small frown forming on her lips. Why did she even say that? And why was she now trying to be all demure and nice? Was...was she being teased again? Ugh, she left the tower to get away from that. Well, no matter. She would not address it and if Himeko was ignorant then that was that. Moving on, then. That comment about her face irritated her just a bit. Mostly because it was true.

"Ahem," She cleared her throat, shaking her head and stiffly walking past the Tengu with a light huff. "I know I tend to frown a lot, thank you, but at least I don't go around acting like I'm better than everyone. Just don't go around threatening people if we're trying to find information. You attract more flies with honey than vinegar." Charlotte of course, knew there were times when such words were meaningless. Something one had to learn quite quickly in Astril, but most people responded better to kindness unless they had a reason to hide something or be ill-mannered. "That aside, the city I mentioned is some distance away. While I certainly don't mind walking for a few days to reach the destination...it would not be the fastest." She cast a glance over to Himeko.

...she could probably fly, couldn't she?

huhm, how exactly would flying feel?

Come to think of it, she also missed her chance at a feather.
"If you're looking for a cartographer you've come to the wrong person." Charlotte grumbled, starting to walk back into the town. "I've only been in the region for a month or so at best, and all I have to work with is out dated maps and texts." As much as she was loathe to admit it...she knew very little and so far had been working on scripts and texts that were old, and likely maybe even outdated. The scholars at the tower were loathe to let anything new into their tower, lest it cause problems.

Still...

Even if her attitude was bad it was clear Himeko was at least, trusting her with this. Having someone actually do that for once in her life was a little...well, it was nice. She couldn't actually recall a time where someone had.

"But, I'm nothing if not clever." She smirked. "I do know that apparently there is a large city not far to the south west of here, but before that." She turned to face the Tengu, hands on her hips. "We need some ground rules if we're traveling together. Especially when you're dealing with other people because quite frankly, you're terrible at it." She bluntly stated. "So let me handle the talking. As well...keep those legs of your covered. I don't need the distraction."

She turned, now having returned to the village proper. Now, how should transportation be handled? She would be fine with walking. Easily done with a few physical enhancement potions of varying natures, but buying a horse or paying for passage could work as well...though she had no idea how to ride one.
