Bio

Hello! Welcome to my little bio.

Not much to say, really. Just a horror game protag that likes writing and playing vidya games when I'm not being chased by the cosmic forces of darkness. (I'm a security guard that works night shifts usually).

Have some dancing medjed.

~~The Illuminator~~

Location:
White Dawn

The snow crunched under her feet as she walked. It was an odd feeling, having so much in her head. It made her giggle. The gift of knowledge was both a burden and a curse. Ah if only they could all see it, too. She wanted to share it. Wanted to give it to them. Wanted to teach. Enlighten. That was what she was here for now, after all. That was her mission. Her job. To be a gate to the Library and teach the mortals.

She paused, her steps carrying her to the edge of the village. A cold wind blew past, carrying with it the smell of freshly cooked deer and fruits from the forest. Failing their planned sacrifice, they had quickly put together something else it seemed. She knew what they were doing well. A feast to honor the pilgrims. Mere fools, they were. They learned nothing. They took it as a sign Lazhria wasn't suitable. That the Illuminator wanted another mind. A greater mind as perceived by them. But no, the Kadisht would not volunteer himself. A coward, but that was fine.

The Library had use, even for those.

Silently, she began walking again. Past the huts the people lived in, the night easily hiding her from any prying eyes should there be any. Slow and purposeful was her steps, yet not slow enough to let think she was aimlessly walking as she weaved through the shadows until she came to the beach where the bonfire was burning brightly. Crowded around it, sitting comfortably in a circle on mats and rugs of animal fur were all the residents of White Dawn. The Kadisht was easy to find, his bright dyed red furs easy to pick out...and the one with the largest amount of food in front of him.

"Are we really sending Cxatha?" Standing at the edge, she could hear the conversation he was having with one of the Lloi's. She leaned closer, a frown forming. Just seeing them angered her.

"There is little to be done. He is the brightest and must be sent. The Illuminator wills it." The Kadisht replied. Oh did he now? La-Zha's frown turned back into a smile. Oh how ignorantly wrong they were. Did they ever even know what the Illuminator wanted? Perhaps in the past, when he first revealed themselves to these people, but if they did they had long forgotten it, it seemed.

Some more conversation. Whispering to the Lloi beside him. What were they saying, in such hushed tones? Her ears couldn't reach, but she knew anyways. Cxatha. Son of one of the Lloi's. A Lloi of which, seemed to disagree. How droll. They planned trickery. To let him leave, but only for a few days before returning saying that reaching the wall was impossible. Pathetic. Had they not sworn, to pursue knowledge above all else? They were letting petty things such as emotions get in the way.

She began walking closer as the Kadisht took a stand. No one would notice her just yet, because she didn't want them too. A little trick of the mind, so they would simply fail to notice her.

"Brothers," The Kadisht began. "Sisters! Friends. The Illuminator has blessed us once more with a year of enlightenment, well being and luxury." Hah...how pathetically false. La-Zha smiled as she arrived at the fur rug he was standing on. She took a seat next to him, grabbing a rather juicy looking deer leg from a bone plate in front of him as he continued. "But as with every year...progress demands sacrifice. Since the first generation we have always honored the White Stars missive. Send a single person to the wall, so that the Library may welcome them." He had started walking by now, making a slow circle around the bonfire so that he could see each and everyone here. "We had planned for a suitable sacrifice in his name - one of the weak of minded, given to the Lord of Knowledge so that he may enlighten them in death." His red colored robes fluttered lightly in the cold breeze of the sea. "But our plans were hindered. Bryyre is a traitor, and Lazhria is to be henceforth exiled from White Dawn, should she ever find her way back here she is to be killed." Walking to a tall, lanky looking boy with sharp features he placed a gentle hand on their shoulder. "In her stead, we must make another. Cxatha, you will go to the wall and make the journey in her stead."

"I would be honored, Kadisht. Anyone would, for the chance to visit the Library. I shall redeem us for the ignorance of that child."

"You shall be recorded in the histories as a Saint, Cxatha." La-Zha merely smiled as she tore another piece of meet off the leg of the deer. She had almost eaten all of it. She hadn't realized how hungry she had been. Or was it something else? She didn't spend too long thinking about it. "But without further ado, we shall begin the festivities! Come, Cxatha."

clap

A small cheer erupted among the populace, the first slow one going unheard.

clap

The second broke through the loud cheers, a piercing thunderclap, silencing them within seconds.

clap

The Kadisht turned slowly, not understanding what had just happened. How had she gotten so close? Without anyone seeing?

clap

"La...Lazhria?" His voice was unsteady as La-Zha smiled up at him from her seat, a bone, picked clean of all of the meat on it held lightly in her hands. "How did...how are you-?!" Silence befell the Lloi's and the hunters. How had they not seen her?

"Surprised?" La-Zha's smile never faded as she waved the bone lazily in the air. Something about the way she moved seemed unnatural. Her joints didn't seem to bend right. "Thought I died or something? Took Bryyre on a wild snow hare chase?" She chuckled lightly, chewing lightly on the bone. The fire crackled in silence. "Well, I did. Sort of. He's no longer with us but he made quite the lovely paint."

Silence.

"Nothing to say? And here I thought talking was the only thing you were good at." Slowly, she stood, her voice dry and humorless as she responded. "That was quite the speech you gave. I have to wonder why you gave the same one the year before. Oh, and how incredibly false it was as well. Lord Iva? Bless your small mind with anything? How arrogant." La-Zha stepped closer, the Kadisht took a step back. Something primal, something was telling him he should flee. Something was wrong.

"Ah, he even knows it." The Kadisht stumbled backwards, heat from the bonfire against his back. "You know what you've done. You know your insults well, don't you? I can see it aaaaaalllll in the dark corners of your mind where you try and hide it." Her voice had odd disjointedness to it as she spoke, it was dry and almost monotone. The rest of the others gathered seemed entirely unsure on what to do. Some of the hunters simply watched.

"I-I don't know how you got back here so easily." He seemed to be calming himself down after her sudden interruption. "Or what nonsense you speak of. Has the Illuminator taken your wits, girl?" He seemed to be ignoring or not noticing her obvious inhuman qualities now. That was fine, and expected.

"No no, he has given me more wits than you will ever have!" An amused chuckle. "Not that you have any to begin with..."

"Insolent...!" He glared at her, but before he could say anything else she interrupted him once more.

"Afraid, Kadisht?" She was so close now. Close enough he could smell a slightly antiseptic smell coming from her.

"Of what?"

"Of being discovered. What Lord Iva will do now that you've offended him?"

"I've done no such thing." He scoffed. "I've led this village to prosperity with his blessing!"

"Then why, oh why have you done nothing but but fatten yourself?"

"I've done no such thing!"

"Have you not? Am I wrong? Are we wrong? He says we're wrong. There is one way, to find out Kadisht. Knowledge above all else. That's what we want. Throw yourself into the bonfire." By now some of the other people had gotten to their feet, most were understandably confused, but did nothing. Unable to decide what they should do.

Poor little fish. So used to being led around, not thinking for themselves.

"I am under no obligation to listen to the deranged mind of a mad woman!" He spat.

"Ah, no? You won't? So we're right then? Of course we are. I know all that there is, and all that there can be. I know your mind, Kadisht. Your selfish, rotten, putrid mind...If you refuse your role so easily...then I shall simply take it."

Hero's District, Priestella
Death count: 1
Reset Count: 2

One instant she had been outside with Wisp and Aki, the next she was back with the others.

What happened? Time had seemed to freeze, and with a blink she was brought back to an earlier point in the day when she had met everyone else and had made the decision to go with Aer to get identification. Did she die? She didn't think she did. Chieko frowned. Then what had happened? Did the reset not happen just because of death? Her death? Everyone's death? Someone else's death, then? Ashton and Flame were busy conversing with Aer and trying to get someone to be a...'leader'. Hmph, well, she wasn't going with anyone they picked.

"...ow." Chieko was bought out of her thoughts by the feeling of someone trying to crush her hand. She cast a glance over to Aerith. Was she trying to break her hand? Because it sure felt like it. She'd might have said something too, but that look Aerith had wasn't...well, it seemed like something had happened on their end. The death grip on her hand supported that fact, at least.

She was torn. She didn't want to say no to Aerith and Hiro. They were nice to her, but obviously something bad had happened and she really wanted that identification. It had gone well last time, hadn't it? Everything taken care of nice and neatly. Mono may have been a jackass, but he seemed reasonable. Mostly. Maybe she could convince Aerith and Hiro to come with them this time.

Ah, where was Aki at when she needed a comfort hug? Making decisions was always easier when she had a little sister to hug.

"Uhm...Aerith do you always try to kill things by crushing their hand?" Chieko replied quietly. "I...don't know what happened but we were safe." She cast a glance over to Aer and Yuuki. Oof, this hurt a lot. Not the hand crushing. Emotionally. "Uhm...maybe you should come with us?" She pulled her scarf over her mouth again before pulling her hand out of Aerith's grip. She hated this.

"W-wait I'm going with you..." She moved back over to Aer and Yuuki, hoping the others followed. She was going to get that identification, and then she was going to go to the adventurer's guild and find some training. She wasn't going to be this weak forever, and when she was a proper hero, she wasn't going to let something like this happen.
Oh

He's heading to White Dawn

Hoho

Well

All I'll say is that anyone heading there is going to have quite the welcome once I finish this post of mine.

~The Otherworldly Cavern~

Reoth was right. From the looks of things there wasn't going to be an immediate fight. Even so, Ash didn't move until she was certain. She couldn't make out much of what was being said in her tired condition. Thankfully it seemed like he was keen on also following the general plan of leaving the cave. For now then, it seemed as though there was a general consensus.

"Alright, everything looks clear." Ash said quietly to those around her, pushing herself to her feet and beginning to move swiftly and as quietly as possible. What was that skill she got? Muffle? Was it worth the risk? A brief rest would hopefully have done her some good, even if it wasn't a very long one. The HP drain she was experiencing didn't seem to be too fast.

"Quietly. Ahead of the goblins, move to the cave entrance. We still don't know how they'd react to us." Activating Muffle I, Ash headed for the entrance of the cave. They'd need to be in a position to either flee or ambush should things go awry. "So be careful, and don't take any chances and keep your wits about you. The Goblins seem to respect strength, so whatever you do don't appear weak."

"Ritz!" Claire grimaced as the Ledyba was soundly defeated. "Ahaha, you did good boy. You took a solar beam right to the face and lived, heh!" She recalled her Ledyba. She'd have to give him something special after this. Some sorta treat? hugs? She'd think of something. More importantly what to do here? She was down three pokemon, and had three left. There was Lure, who she wasn't sure would be so helpful aside from her type resistance. Ralia, who'd she prefer to use last, and Pip. It was a bit mean, but Pip was about to get a crash course in pokemon battles. She just had to avoid and last for about two turns.

"Alright, Pip!" She released Chikorita from her pokeball, the small grass type eagerly running in a circle as she was released. She didn't seem intimidated by the large plant at all. "Sunflora wants to play a game of tag, girl. Let's show 'em who's the queen of games around here."

"Chiko!~" The leaf on top of her head perked up, Pip seemingly getting the idea swiftly began to run around the field with a single goal of avoiding the Solar Beams.
I apologize in advance. You'll more than likely see a lack of activity from me this week. Been feeling tired as of late and work's been draining me.

I'll say that it's possible that I'll have a post out later this week, but it's up in the air right now.

Oh, that's not good. Right when I got a post up xP

Hope you feel better soon!
~~Seleth~~

@PaulHaynek@AzureKnight

Seleth returned to the Cathedral later that night. Her search for Varjan and Alicia went unsuccessful. Despite her attempts not too, she couldn't bring herself to not feel at least a little concern. Not that she'd ever admit such a thing, but it bothered her knowing something was amiss but being unable to do anything about it. Annoyed her. Geh, whatever. Some meditation would clear her mind, it always did. She just needed to focus more on her match and the victory she needed.

The next match was cause for concern. She had done well up until now, but things were going to get even more difficult from here. Not to mention, the change of scenery. It wasn't at the academy's practice halls, and was now too the academy owned arena's. As she walked to the arena, she had to fight the urge to sit and calm her nerves. She was going to be fighting in a proper arena, in front of many people...against an opponent likely more skilled than she. Defeat wouldn't just mean she got knocked out of the tournament...but humiliation. Her breath caught as she inhaled. While normally this wouldn't be so concerning, it was exactly who she was fighting that was making her so nervous.

Lisianthus von Zauberheim. Princess of Razelia. The Scion of Blessed lightning. Someone born with all the talent in the world. Seleth might have also been born to a wealthy, old Dark Elf religious family, but she was having doubts about how well she could match up to someone so well renowned. Exhaling, she stepped into the ring. The announcer gave the usual speech about rules as several illusory boulders manifest on the field, and a large pile made a small hill to her left. She'd need to use everything to her advantage here, if she wanted to win.

"I'm surprised a spoiled princess was able to make it this far." Seleth coldly began. "I suppose those fancy titles of yours aren't entirely for show." The dark elf hefted her spear, twirling it in a show of dexterity. How should she do this? All of her opponents until now had mostly been melee oriented. Lisia however, was different. Perhaps a more defensive strategy would be appropriate here.

First, Mock Soul - all filled with the 'Shadow Weight' curse. They all split off from Seleth, with Seleth leaving no trance behind as to which one she really was, and readied a Mirror for deflection in case Lisia got lucky and attacked from a distance.
Alright, there we are.

One more post, and White Dawns initial arc here shall be completed, whoo~

I'll get to updated what exactly happened to Lazhria in her little bio tomorrow and detail what exactly she is now,. but I need to sleep for now.

"Oh don't worry you're pretty little bosom over it, Dirka." Iva cackled. "Sleep...sleep. She will sleep and be made for the Library. For Us." He picked up Lazhria's unconscious form. This might have been an astral plane. A plane between realms where thoughts and minds were given shape and form - and this was Lazhria's soul, mind. Spirit. Whatever you wanted to call it. It was exactly what he needed. Tearing open a rift back to his library, he quickly began to work.

Dim light illuminated the lower levels of the Experiment halls. How deep was he? He didn't care. He was going deep, far, beneath the bowels of his own realm. Where things became lost. Where the mind would tremble, where unconscious thoughts began being formed. He moved swiftly, long, lithe legs carrying him through the tall hallways. He was short on time. Even now, Lazhria's mind was reforming. Becoming solid. Rigid. It was a dangerous process indeed. He had only a small window to work with. Breaking it a second time would have potentially unseen side effects.

While he'd explore those later, for now he needed this to be perfect.

Stepping into a large darkened antechamber, Iva placed her naked body upon an altar. He had prepare this room, just for this purpose ages ago. How long? He couldn't remember. All experiments involving it had been a failure, but he was certain. Very certain this time, it would work. He had changed just one thing in the equation. Just a small, minute change. Something he didn't quite understand before. Humans were funny, like that. If they had nothing to cling too, then their mind was weak and useless. Dirka was right, about that at least.

So he just had to have a human that was entirely dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge - and him. Lazhria didn't know it, but it wasn't Bryyre who had raised her the most over the years. She just forgot because he wanted her too, and now everything was falling into place.

"So beautiful..." He chuckled, reaching for a small needle like creation. "Almost a shame to cut it, but I'll make you far more beautiful..." It was made of wood and stone, hooked up to a hollow rope like structure made of animal hide. A primitive creation designed to introduce fluids into a body. Painful, but effective for now. The god jammed it into Lazhria's arm, turning the lever on a skin full of a silvery white fluid.

Next he reached for a smaller cutting implement. Jagged around the edges. Like a saw. He had fashioned it just for brain removal. Cutting open the skull, removing the brain. First he had to cut out the mind. Careful. The body was still useful.

Squelch

crrrck

The flesh ripped, skull cracking as he cut it open. Ah, he almost wanted to see if he could turn her body into a fountain. Heh. Amusing thought. He'd find another human later. No no. He couldn't do it. They were busy. So busy. Short on time. More macabre noises were made as he set about his work. The fluid would preserve the body, and prepare it for the ensuing mutations. The process took only minutes, and soon it was completed. The brain was prepped. Now onto the other physical. Cut out everything. Make a void. Make it vast and empty, ready to be filled. Make her a living gate. A key. The soon to be only being with access to the library from the outside.

The entire process took nearly an hour. Iva worked tirelessly, without interruption.

She was floating, suspended in a sea of darkness. Pain, throbbing in her head. She couldn't feel anything else. Just an odd, endless baleful light diffusing the area. Yet, she had her eyes closed. Weren't they? Or were they open? Both. Possibly. It was difficult to think. Like her head was stuffed full of animal fur. What was happening? She didn't know. The pain slowly, began to subside and with it a calm clarity began forming.

And then the sensation of falling - or rather, being pulled down. Her breath caught, the light growing more and more intense until it physically hurt.

She sat up, a sharp scream leaving her mouth as she was abruptly awoken from whatever dream she had been having. Instinctively, she tried to move, only to fall off the altar and slam into the floor, her body refusing to move.

"Hee! Oh glorious! Wonderful! You're awake. About time. I almost considered you another failure. Onto the pile of bodies you would have went." Iva's voice rang clear and loudly as Lazhria tiredly attempted to sit up. "Oh, no, that would be a waste. Your mind still would have been good. Perhaps a warden of some sort...no matter, you're awake. How do you feel?"

"...can't move...very well."

"Ah, don't worry. You're still acclimating. The process has left your mind and body a bit...disconnected. Severed! Like a head when you cut it with a blade!" He laughed, moving closer. "Aside from that, how do you feel? Clear? Empowered? Smarter? Cleverer?"

"Urgh," Finally managing to push herself to a sitting position, Lazhria looked down at her body. The initial grogginess seemed to be wearing off fast, and the more it did the better she felt. Not just physically or mentally. No, this felt like...as though she was even better than before. "What...happened?"

"A gate! I made you into a gate. And a key. A living gate to the library. You are able to speak, access, and gain anything the library has within or outside of its walls. So long as it exists in this realm, you can acquire it or have knowledge of it. Oh, you may wish to put these on." He handed her a set of cloth robes. Odd, she had never seen the like before, but she didn't pay much mind. "Come come...we have much to discuss about our next move, La-Zha. We have a party to plan...and I think it's about time we return to White Dawn."

Most humans would probably have been absolutely maddened by this. Whatever Iva did to her, she could only feel grateful. She felt amazing.

"...heh," Oddly, she licked her lips, feeling the impossibly sharp teeth that she now possessed. "Now that sounds like a fun idea!" She laughed, and followed after Iva.
Nice.

Eagerly looking forward to ensuing magical shenanigans happening to a far too serious elf.
