They say it's about the journey, not the destination. This is true of many things. Pizza delivery is not one of them.

TFW you know what you want to happen but the words aren't cooperating. Why is plot suddenly so much harder to write?

Bio

I am an adult, though I don't usually act like it. I'm a voracious reader, and not overly picky about books. I am artistic in a variety of areas, including music, drawing, writing, and sculpting. I have a minor obsession with dragons, and love the color violet. Fantasy is my preferred genre, be it past, future, urban...as long as it has a fantasy flavor to it. I also like scifi, mystery, and some horror. I am crazy, and I like tormenting my characters. But I don't bite...much. ^.~

@Draken Kraken is my mental image too. Sea dragons are sea serpents. Both are powerful and hard to kill, and may be resistant to magic or have magic of their own.
@Antarctic Termite when in doubt, kill them off. Alternatively, employ Chandler's Law. ^.^
No, no, thing RWBY. gun is the pole part, and then there's a blade attached to the end of the barrel. Can't have it in the way of the fired bullet, after all!

Still, the design is so cool. And there actually IS a gun-knife.
@The Angry Goat I meant a decidedly evil creature for a church group was odd. =P Not the creature itself, just the context it'd have in this particular setting.

@Draken Leviathans are totally bamf monster dudes, sea dragons or GIANT SQUID, and actually they can be really terrifying because you can't see them. Also tentacles.

@Lovejoy I'm totally game for a non-fire phoenix. I like the idea of an ether-phoenix, a pure magic construct. Actually that appeals to me on multiple levels. And maybe it's less fire-hued and while bright, tends more towards yellow-white with highlights of various colors -- like blue for (most) human ether. Now I wanna draw this! *flails* but I'm trying to draw Ziotea's armor as a ref, and...*flailing*

@Drakey Actually, I have a concern about Madrys. If the core is a foot in diameter, and if Madrys herself is a big metal wolf, and if one vial of ether lasts her 2-4 hours...how many vials of ether would Rodion have to pack to bring with him? *concerned* Unless perhasp she herself transforms into some sort of vehicle that runs off a more standard steam-ether engine.
@CollectorOfMyst I'd no idea seraphs were associated with fire. But since there was nothing specific to imply that these seraphs are fire, while the red circle/red phoenix does (red->fire, and I'm not coming up with an alternative element. Iron, maybe? But even the most out-there fantasy stories have yet to include a metal phoenix), I wonder. This is the inquisition, and promoting fire is heretical. It seems like a discontinuity of logic to use a fire phoenix. I'd accept an ice phoenix in a heartbeat.
@lovejoy In today's random thoughts:

if fire is evil and the word itself is taboo or at least a curse, wouldn't a phoenix be the equivalent of like...the antichrist crossed with demons crossed with cthulhu on the Nope Scale? Since it's a red phoenix (or it was, wehn it was on our breastplates) we know that it must be a fire phoenix as opposed to an ice phoenix or some other sort. But it puzzles me why the Inquisition would choose such a horrific and heretical creature for the name of a warband.
@Lovejoy Feel better soon! *sngus*
@OppositionJd DEAR GODS. I'm not clear if her father tried and failed, or if her mother took him down because of it and left him to die. *flailing* ETIHER WAY, IT'S AWESOME!
@Naril I did an rp years ago where my char jumped around in time -- iot was tricky and it /did/ make plot holes, but it ended up being very fun! Weaving multiple parts into a bigger thing can be rewarding, be it times, places, or character.
@Naril One of my favorite series does something like that. Katharine Kerr's Devery novels? You know them?
