They say it's about the journey, not the destination. This is true of many things. Pizza delivery is not one of them.

TFW you know what you want to happen but the words aren't cooperating. Why is plot suddenly so much harder to write?

Bio

I am an adult, though I don't usually act like it. I'm a voracious reader, and not overly picky about books. I am artistic in a variety of areas, including music, drawing, writing, and sculpting. I have a minor obsession with dragons, and love the color violet. Fantasy is my preferred genre, be it past, future, urban...as long as it has a fantasy flavor to it. I also like scifi, mystery, and some horror. I am crazy, and I like tormenting my characters. But I don't bite...much. ^.~

@Lovejoy I was certain they didn't have entirely free range, but there's usually at least a level of "acceptable casualties" should something go wrong. I mean, taking down villains (and other nations) is kinda their job. Cant' expect an inquisitor to stand aside in the face of wrongdoing past a certain point, yeah? Sure it's not really standard save for particularly lethal criminals, but if they happen to be there....

And civilian casualties is doubtless more common in unconquered territories. Heck, could be just because they get in trouble for making a mess doesn't mean they dont -- and you can't do /too/ much because they're a valuable asset and represent a major investment of time and resources. So the degree of trouble cna vary too. ^.^

It was mostly curiosity though.

oh /joy/.

I'm sure warpriest is a highly prestigious position, even if maybe not coming with as much bureaucratic power as someone like Magnus wields. They're the glorious heroes who take on heresy in the name of Lord Varya, and a highly visible symbol of Varyan power. That's got a clout all its own.

@ayzrules not offhand, I'm afraid. If you really want dares, though, I have a bunch saved, and I will gladly pelt you with any number of my favorites.
@CollectorOfMyst I think we saw Viveca's in the recent IC.
@CollectorOfMyst *snickers* there is some stuff that needs to be added to the char tab...hm. Has everyone had their vision? I feel like I missed a couple.

@CollectorOfMyst *tackles gladly*

I might take an hour or two to get back -- got a few errands to run -- but then I should be around!
@Lovejoy lovely post. Y'know, I wonder what collateral damage is for an inquisitor in among civvies...
@Drakey ah, this makes sense.

Another drawback to his analytic sight: he isn't aware of his surroundings, and he can't really interact with them while using this ability! That's a big one.
@POOHEAD189 Alternatively, perhaps a romantic subplot is not necessary -- or perhaps it does not get resolved in this book. Don't worry about best. Who would they be interested in now?

@Antarctic Termite I like you. All the mistakes.
