Yeah, I meant in the arcane sense, like how the character Index is a (Christian) magic user, not an Esper. Espers technically don't do magic, they do science. Magic in this universe is tied to a religion (as far as I've seen) and belief in supernatural forces, whereas Esper abilities rely on manipulating physical laws, and understanding the math and science behind it. Espers apparently can't use magic without losing their abilities (or something, though I think the series gets to hybrids at some point because power creep) because the foundations are incompatible. Esper powers supposedly come from a belief in one's own self, or one's own version of reality, whereas magic comes from the belief in whatever religious foundation forms the basis of the magic being conducted.

My intention is to make a Muslim magic user whose main schtick revolves around the Evil Eye. They would be attempting to infiltrate Academy City or something.

Vivian listened to Neil's explanation and nodded, as if in understanding. "Well, Bart's lucky to have you then. It's not everyone that can stay professional and loyal and continue working for someone after a personal disagreement."

"And don't worry about the misunderstanding. There are hundreds of monsters we haven't met yet, each one with their own peculiarities and dangers that we don't know about. Nobody should be expected to know everything about a monster they've only met for the first time," Sylvia added, but then thought back to the moment they ripped off his shirt, and Sylvia, specifically, was trying to lick nectar off of his bare chest. Blushing (if plants can blush), Sylvia brought a large succulent leaf to cover her face in shame and whispered, _{"...I'm sorry for putting you in such a compromising position..."}

As Neil invited them to join him on this next quest, Vivian declined, "Yeah, I'm sure other quests won't be quite as nutty as the last one, but Sylvia and I really need to at least set up our workspace here first instead of gallivanting on adventures. Thanks for the invite though, maybe we'll take you up on it next time." With that, the sisters made their way to the kitchen and began taking an inventory of the utensils, cookware, and ingredients, making a list of essential baking supplies they might need to get. They would also survey the outside for a place to set up a small herb garden, and potentially, a greenhouse in the future. They would try to seek out Bart to discuss if the carpenters who were fixing the hole could also be commissioned to lay down some basic foundation for their herb garden.

After Linkle headed into town, Din was left with the guards and the child Link. He didn't seem to recognize her, so it was likely it wasn't the same Link she knew. Part of her felt compelled to use a friendship heart to wake him from his Galeem-controlled existence, but another part thought better of it. It wasn't like living like this hurt him, nor did it seem to make him hurt anyone else. And once Galeem was defeated, everyone would be free anyways. Besides, when the Link she knew saved her, he was also a kid, but she didn't really have a choice in the matter. She had been kidnapped and he, on his own volition, had set out to save her. Din could not in good conscious enlist a child to fight in a battle in which she had seen comrades get killed unceremoniously. The thought of freeing this child Link from Galeem's control, only to watch him die was more than Din could bear. She winked at the kid and said, "Like the girl just now, I'm also from Hyrule, though probably a different time from you. But you must know what Gerudo are, right? I'm a Gerudo dancer, and I'm about to put on a show in town, if you'd like to come and watch." With that, she left Link to continue his guard duty and headed to the square.

While her allies bothered the guild about finding jobs, Din resolved to help Linkle pay her debt to the rest stop owner of Hammerhead. Finding a good spot in the town square, Din began to project her voice and called out, "Come one, come all! And witness the amazing Din's exotic and entrancing dancing! Let her steps mystify and amaze you!" Casting the Spell of Summer on her position created a strange effect, like a spotlight aimed at her, despite it being a bright sunny day. She started by twirling the Rod of Ages like a baton, waving it and dancing around, flipping it into the air and catching it, while also using the Spells of Winter and Spring for magical, seasonal visual effects. Then Gogoat joined, and she got on its back, performing various balancing acts. Finally, she leapt from Gogoat's back and took to the air with her new wings, performing aerial acrobatics. landing with a flourish, she bowed, signaling the end of the performance, and waited to be showered with rupees. Hopefully this will earn some money, and while away the time until her allies have decided what quests to take and how they should tackle them.

Tessa turned to face Verglas Zero. She stared at him for a moment expectantly, wearing a face of obvious impatience. "And?! Did you see what direction she went?" Tessa blurted. Simply informing her and Graves that he had bumped into Rael did little to help them find her, and his pleasantries only delayed things. But a familiar voice brought Tessa out of her grilling. She turned to see Tiferet, which brought a sense of joy and relief, though she tried her best not to let it show. "Tif! It's been a while. Is it easy re-specc'ing into necromancer?" she joked, somewhat callously, "You haven't seen Rael, have you? She got antsy and walked out on me and Graves. Party's small enough as it is, so I'm glad you're back."

Her gaze wandered to Alex and Eaudenil, and immediately flitted away; she no longer needed them to provide information, since Zero was now her lead, so she promptly ignored them and turned her attention back to Zero. "Well?"

Din was surprised at her transformation, but not too surprised, having seen enough of her allies go through something similar. She felt invigorated, empowered. She looked over the Gogoat, worried that the pokemon wouldn't recognize her. But it stared at her and approached her as if nothing had changed. The bond between pokemon and trainer was certainly something special. Before Din could really test out what she was newly capable of, it seemed the group wanted to head out, with a smaller half of the group heading off in a different direction. Though most of them were newer people she didn't know, she was loathe to see Ratchet go, since she liked the small lombax, who was decidedly less small since the battle at Peach's Castle. She ultimately based her decision to head with the main group on Blazermate going with the other group, since Din felt each group needed a healer. Meanwhile, Peach apologized to the owners for the damage that had been done to the garage, and Din joined in, along with Linkle. Din considered dancing at the next town for money to help fulfill Linkle's promise to pay back the owner. She also felt bad that Poppi was now damaged, and they couldn't stay to have her repaired.

Climbing onto Gogoat, Din rode on beside the Bowsermobile through the Land of adventure and onward to Lumbridge. Along the way, Peach asked Din if she wanted to have the soul of Storm Eagle removed, but Din declined. Not only was she curious about her new body, but she also felt that she needed to start pulling her weight, and the bit of added power that absorbing a soul would definitely help for that. However, upon approaching the city gate, Din shouted, "Oh my Goddesses!" She rode up to the green-clad guard, a 'Link' in a form she was more familiar with. "Link! Is that...is that you?" She asked, unsure if this was the child who had saved her what seems like a lifetime ago. "Linkle! Look! One of your incarnations!"

The Altissima twins awoke the following morning feeling motivated; several guildmembers had expressed eager anticipation to try their special pastries. They looked on as their guildmates eagerly headed to the quest board to pick up jobs, and smiled, knowing that today, they would remain behind to set up their spot in the guildhall. They were also glad to not be going on any crazy quests, especially after what happened last time. Before she could make her way back to the kitchens, Neil approached, apologizing.

Sylvia looked away, still embarrassed, but Vivian stuck out her arm to shake hands with Neil. "No hard feelings, Neil. My sister and I definitely over-reacted and put you in an awkward position. You weren't at dinner yesterday, but the thing about my nectar is it's a powerful aphrodisiac, used by Alraune and Liliraune alike to seduce mates. We use it in our pastries since it also has healing properties, but we mix it with herbs that can counteract the aphrodisiac effects. It's our specialty, but also a bit of a curse."

Sylvia finally spoke up, "We were raised by humans, so we were taught about the dangerous effects of our nectar, and we're very careful not to let it put people we know in...compromising situations, or result in situations that we might regret later."

Vivian hoped this explanation was enough to sate Neil's curiosity, and she was eager to set up her bakery and Sylvia's apothecary shop, and wanted to seek out Bart or their resident carpenter, but decided to ask, "By the way, why weren't you at dinner?"

Suddenly, A loud, bird monster girl attacked Titanica outside, but the loud, flaming, bird lady reminded the twins too much of the exploding, ball-shaped birds that had assaulted them in their collective hallucination, so they decided to just sit this one out and pretend to ignore what was going outside.
